"What!? Another CVS Longs!? Well....." This is NOT a 24 Hour Longs. THIS review is for the AINA HINA location and I am focusing on the Pharmacy. I have been going here for a couple of years now and I have to say, the pharmacy staff is great and on the ball. They friendly, efficient and informative when you have questions. Sometimes vaccines or prescriptions are not available but they are more than happy to work with you to schedule a more convenient time or another store that night have what you need. Of the many Longs I have visited on occasion, this Longs harkens to the days when a friendly, familiar face was what you could count on. Note: this Longs location as a whole does not appear to have all the items you would find at larger Longs locations- they of course have the items that are on the weekly sale, but not necessarily a large selection of other items. read more

Aina Haina Long's... Not really my go to Long's and it's not just the location which isn't in my area yup but the location that's right across the shopping center which is great that they're not a part of it so the parking situation is exclusively their own but getting there right off Kalanianaole Hwy you can't make a left turn so I had to drive further down and make a turn around to get into the lot. The store feels quite dated and a bit on the smaller side but I did stop by this location since I was in the area and not wanting to deal with Kahala Mall and search for parking and decide to give this place a try, the selection wasn't that great for me and just didn't have items that I was looking for. Great for the residents in the area but the accessibility and selection here isn't for me which is sad considering it's such a lovely location. Thank you! read more

This morning my wife had a appointment for her first dosage Covid19 at Longs Aina Haina @ 10am Very efficient got there at 9:45 check in and by 10:30am we was out of there . Pharmacy at this location is on the 2nd floor. They also have a make shift 2 room to give the shots in. While most Longs Drugs have only a curtain for privacy lol. They also have a designated area to wait after 15mins just in case of side effects. Very spacious location upstairs. The only down fall I could see is that the person who was giving the shot just called out next person. My wife was the next person up but if the other customer wasn't so nice they could have just cut in line. You would think they have a system in place where they will call your name in the order you register with the counter NOPE! Other than that overall service was very easy and efficient. I've come to Aina Haina as long as I can remember, so it was kind of cool to have a Longs Drugs/CVS in my neighborhood, even though I have one in Kahala Mall. This CVS store/pharmacy is relatively built, just before Covid or during Covid. I'm not sure but it is relatively new. Everything so sparkly and shiny that you never knew it was that new. I've gone to the store many times since it's opening, but most recently, I had my 2023 Covid vaccination here. This CVS location was nice and sort of convenient since you can hop on the number 1 or 24 bus, or number 23 bus to get here. on my most recent visit to get my vaccination, I checked in on the app to make sure that they know I'm coming. 15 minutes before my scheduled vaccination, I entered the store and decided to kill time by shopping around. I ended up buying a few things before heading upstairs to get my Covid vaccination. Once I was upstairs, I checked in with the pharmacist, and they told me that it was free and I didn't have to front a $200 co-pay. Thought that was neat. They told me to wait in the waiting room nearby until they had someone to administer the CoVId vaccine and the annual flu shot. I decided to get both so I don't have to take time for the other. There was 2 people ahead of me who also got their vaccines. The total time spent here was about 25 minutes, from check in and leaving the area. The dude who was administering the vaccine was knowledge and friendly. Nice guy. The overall experience here at this CVS location was Cool, casual and very nice actually. While it is kind of out-of-the-way and a general sense, it is handy for people who live in the east, Oahu area, and need to come here for their daily essentials and or pharmaceuticals. The CVS store carries premieres everything and everything you need for your daily needs from bottle of water to your daily multivitamin, this store has pretty much everything. For me, though, I usually end up buying bottled water on any given day if I'm out here or snacks to chew on if I need something to chew on or something. CVS is your one stop shop for everything that you could need. Their prices are very reasonable and you don't have to go to Costco to stock up. CVS just offers what you need versus what you don't need at Costco, which is a lot more than what you need. It is cool, that CVS is basically anywhere and everywhere that you may need them, which is cool and awesome. For the most part, though, my experience here at this CVS location was for the pharmacy only. My time spent shopping on the first floor was good, casual and a good thing to do multiple things at one location at any given time so you can get things done quicker. This CVS location is located across the street from Aina Haina shopping center on W Hind Drive. You can't really miss it if you're driving on the H-1. Or maybe you can. They accept major credit cards, as well as cash. Getting a vaccine appointment requires you to go online to CVS.com and request an appointment. Make sure you check with them to see if you are covered with insurance. Last thing you want is to be floored with paying a lot for a vaccination. Just saying. If you drive, there is a separate parking lot for customers to CVS, but it's very limited. If you are like me, the aforementioned bus routes 1, 1L, 23, and 24 come thru the area and stops on W Hind Drive or Kalanianaole Hwy, depending on the route you're taking. And so, CVS is good for what services it provides. While the experience wasn't ideally enjoyable, it was just a need to be here for the vaccination. Above all else, it was a way to be on top with my health and I was going to be out there anyway. Might as well get the vaccine too. I was glad that they had the modern version though. With everything else going on in the world, it helps to keep things in perspective. I still love this Longs location because of the patrons and cashier's. It's 2 floors, but there is an elevator and escalator. I like that it's still somewhat quieter than other Longs, so I feel less hurried and bothered by the masses. There are discounts and coupons using their ExtraCare card. Why? The staff is pretty friendly and the cashier downstairs was very helpful. So why the One Star? I have just moved back to the area from out of the country. On the island of Cyprus, where I lived for over 3 years, I could get the same Covid-19 tests as at Longs but in Cyprus Ten Euros (about $11.00) bought five tests. At Longs Aina Haina it only bought one. Fine. That's healthcare in the U.S. The One Star comes because earlier in the week before I contracted Covid-19, I bought merchandise and my receipted said, "$5.00 off your next purchase of $30 or more. Does not apply to alcohol." So after I was safe to go out masked (day six of Covid - no fever, symptoms far less), I went back to Long to buy four tests - about $37.00 of tests. I scanned my coupon. ERROR MESSAGE. The kind cashier said, "Oh, that's because you cannot use the coupon for purchase of Alcohol OR Covid-19 tests. It doesn't say it on the coupon but if you go to the website it will say it. Hmmm.... I thought. So Longs/CVS didn't have enough room on the Coupon to write "or Covid tests" ? Longs/CVS couldn't add 13 characters? Hmm... Maybe it is because LONGS/CVS knows there is a high demand for these overpriced tests and LONGS/CVS gouges its customers because it knows if you make it to the cashier with your tests and your coupon doesn't work, then you most likely won't take by the tests you need. So LONGS/CVS -- shame on you for exploiting the customers needs not allowing the coupon and not printing the exclusion of COVID-19 on the coupon. This Poor Branch takes the hit for all the LONGS/CVS's. Some store has to take the hit. Maybe the management will talk to Corporate and tell them not to be so greedy -- or if it wants to be greedy, at least print it on the Coupon and not hide it. I don't usually make it a practice to review a place 2x in a week, but I felt compelled to. DO NOT buy the Prego in a can that is 5 for $5 dollars. This is the only Longs where I've seen it sold. I thought, how much worse could it be that the stuff in a glass jar? This is the worst water crap I've had ever. I had better sauce in the rust belt elementary school cafeterias where I grew up as a kid. Now I'm stuck with sauce I wouldn't feed a toddler. Times are tough, but I'd prefer margarine on my noodle to this stuff. Why five stars? Because the service here is good and it isn't a crowded mess like the Hawaii Kai location when the sales start on Sunday. The store is organized and well stocked. Have you ever gone to Longs Drugs to look for a sale item you saw in the Sunday paper, only to find out that when you got there, it was all sold out? Yeah, that happened to me a few times...........especially when it's a popular item............. I've even went to the trouble of stopping by 4 different Longs Drugs only to find out that they didn't have that particular item I was looking for.............until...............I discovered the Longs Drugs in Aina Haina. What I found out about this fairly new Longs Drugs that opened in Aina Haina is that this store is on the slower side, therefore if you're looking for a particular sale item, more than likely they will have it here! Although the store is on the smaller side, service is really great! The clerks are friendly and helpful, and the cashiers provide a fast & friendly checkout experience! There is lots of parking here in the private parking lot.............and since it's on the slower side, parking is never an issue. read more

I've had multiple conversations with multiple people about how the culture at this longs pharmacy just seems to be above and beyond anywhere else. Even though it's a big CVS corporation, this particular department feels like a community pharmacy, where you will be remembered and treated like family. They are BUSY but always smiling. Pharmacist Daniel and his team. I've never been to a pharmacy better than this one. Other pharmacies have gave me a hard time, whether it was their unpleasant attitude, inattentiveness (wrong dosages), or making me go back to my doctor 3x and then telling me they're out of the medication. Ever since this pharmacy opened Daniel has been an upstanding member of protecting and caring for The Aina Haina community. He makes sure to ask if the quantity and dosage are correct, let's you know if there are any warnings or interactions and even takes some time to ask how you're doing. A pharmacist that genuinely cares about your well-being and health. When it gets busy he will even come up to the register to ring you in, you can tell he treats his staff well because I often hear laughter and smiling. It shows what type of leader you are by how you treat and make your staff feel. His team consists of friendly and personable workers, even when they get slammed with customers their customer service never falters. Being under his care since the beginning; created a sense of trust, makes me feel safe about my family and my own health. Thank you Daniel for always and constantly taking care of us. Ok I am going to apologize ahead of time as I definitely know the struggle of working with the public.... however I am just blunt honest after all this is what I think makes Yelp awesome as you get to read different reviews I decide if it's worth your time and effort.... and to have awareness of what you may or may not experience .... that's why WE love Yelp and of course to read my 2 cents This is the MOST slow moving CVS/LONGS I ever been to and trust me I have been to the ones on Maui Kauai like the island hopper of around the corner quick snack, toiletries and whatnot. Sadly this is the closest CVS/LONGS .... I am beginning to tell friends and neighbors near by head to Walgreens. They are friendly, faster and helpful. Last night there were only two cashiers which seems to be the norm, with about 3 or 4 workers standing behind photo counter and floor talking stories. Like seriously if I had my phone I would have taken a picture... the lines can be about 5-6 people in each line and they may or may not call for more cashiers... and usually it's on average you stand in line for 10-15 minutes ... and the best is if the registers not working or you standing in line you would think you would invite the closet customer at the front of the line to be rung up .... for the numerous times I have been there that DEFINITELY NEVER HAPPENS... ohhh best is even the manager himself doesn't do that, so I guess I can understand why no one else that works there does the same. Last night there, Nov 10 about 8:00 PM there were 2 people in front of me, I waited 15+ minutes ... just crazy!!!!! But what is one to do when it's the only one in deep Hawaii Kai.... Hopefully someone important from that store that cares about customer satisfaction and happiness... well evaluate what's going on watcha video and see how it really is .... and tell employee if you want to talk stories when busy don't do it in front of customers--- go behind! In March I bought a $100 AMAZON gift card from Longs and sent it to my Sister for her Birthday. In April she tired to use it and discovered the value was $0. I called a Store Manager and was told to call CVS customer service, who took my information and gave me Case# S10905377. She said the information would be given to 3rd party Vendor that handles Gift cards and they would contact me in 10 working days. I heard NOTHING from them. I dispute the Charge, but because CVS said it my responsibility. The dispute was denied. I complained to employee who stated that she caught a women scratching off pin code in the back of gift card and taking pictures with her phone. The employee reported it to a manager and nothing was done! DON'T BUY GIFT CARDS FROM LONGS OR CVS. They will allow fraud to happen to you. So disappointed in LONGS DRUGS.. Ah, the Longs and Walgreens store battle wages on! I think Walgreens is falling behind. When I first seen the sign that a Longs was coming to Aina Haina, I thought it made a lot of sense for the nearby communities, and that's really who this Longs is catered to. If you are heading to town, coming in and out of this Longs on Kalanianaole Hwy is a breeze since the entrance is on that side. If you're heading East towards Niu Valley and Hawaii Kai, avoid it. Don't bother coming here at all because it is a very inefficient and literally a waste of time. The only legal way into Longs is to make the left turn from a small opening before the West Hind Drive left turn. There's no light or anything, so you will need to wait till it is clear, which can be a long time as you will have the additional cars who are also waiting to make a right turn onto the highway from West Hind Drive. The other way is to drive into Aina Haina Shopping Center, loop around, and drive back out. Plus, heading back East when you leave Longs is another journey as well. When you have made it in, there is plenty of parking since I don't think anyone comes to this Longs. The store was almost empty when I came in, and it seemed like no one worked there. In total, I've seen three employees. There are two levels with the Pharmarcy upstairs. It's your basic Longs Drugs store. It didn't feel new or clean because the aisles are still tight with the display racks in middle, and it was pretty messy when I was there. If you just need to go to Longs and heading Westbound, this is a very convenient location. If you need to do additional shopping or take care of addition business, or heading Eastbound, go to another Longs. read more

I have lived in Aina Haina for over 20 years & always had to decide if I should drive to the Kahala or Hawaii Kai location to do my shopping. Neither were good choices as their customer service is very poor in both locations, especially the pharmacy departments! But do not have to make that choice anymore! HOORAY! Loving this Longs Drugs! No lines! Tons of well stocked and super clean shelves! Friendly staff! Came out this way to use my CVS coupon to get some supplies as Longs closer in town was out, with the rewards and coupon got everything 25% off. Love this place for their CVS app, great in-store deals and typically get everything 25-35% off when shopping here, think I once even got 45% off as I combined coupons but then I just felt sort of weird to get such a great deal. Finally a Longs between Hawaii Kai and Kahala Mall. This Longs is relatively new, on the small side unless you discover the second floor, across from the Aina Haina shopping center on W Hind Drive. Super convenient for those in the 96821 zip code, though slightly annoying for those who want to hit up both Foodland and Longs in one go because you have to cross the street on busy W. Hind. They carry all the essential stuff most people need from Longs, plus Zippy's frozen chili and other local goodies. Ample parking out front and along the side parallel to Kalanianaole. The store is slightly small but not lacking. Seems like half the size of the one in Hawaii Kai, without all the touristy trinkets, etc. and no water machines outside like the one on King St. I was just running in and out for some canned beverages on the go so I wasn't paying full attention. Visitors from the mainland can use their CVS care card number if they wish, since Longs is part of CVS. Turns out there are two stories!! Good place to kill time for parents who are waiting for their kids to get out from school next door. It's about time that there was a Longs between Hawaii Kai and Kahala/Kaimuki! I also noticed that there is a Longs in Waikiki on Kalakaua...about time - tourists can't easily get to the King St. one and Ala Moana can get so crowded. read more

Longs stole $200 dollars from me on two separate occasions. That's $400 whole dollars. And had the nerve to threaten to call the police on me. I like to make prompt payments. Sometimes late at night I may buy something from Ebay and since I can't get to a bank at those hours I'll just buy a gift card. It increases the chance the item will ship the following day and i think its just good etiquette with sellers. Twice in a row I bought a $200 gift card from two separate locations. And twice did it fail to activate. The first store in Hawaii Kai made me come in person 4 times before giving a working card. Each time, I had no issue and was polite about it. But they also kept making me go back and forth between Ebay and them, with Ebay telling me from their records the stores system never activated the card. They even advised me to file a report with the police of over this. After having enough of this I asked for a manager to explain to them the situation, and that Ebay was clearly putting the blame on their end. And that I needed to talk to a higher manager. The store manager was extremely rude about it despite me being calm and understanding throughout multiple visits and various conversations. He wouldn't give me any real reason I couldn't talk to a higher manager despite store managers blatantly not knowing what they're doing and repeatedly promising the issue would be absolved by the next day. He told me there's nothing he'd do for me and that he'd hang up. I told him if that's the case I'd just come in person. To which he said "if you do that I'll call the police". All my patience and understanding instantly melted away, and I was past livid and beyond apoplectic. The irony is I hadn't followed up on Ebays advice to file a police report, nor did I even mention that they told me to. I still feel like I'm going to have an ulcer thinking about this. A manager eventually reaches out to let me know they resolved the issue and offers me an additional $5 gift card to which I decline. I don't want anything extra, I just want what I paid for. A few months after I ran into a similar situation where it's late at night and would like to make another prompt payment. I haven't been to any longs since but decide to go to the aina haina location. I went to exercise nearby but after that I made it to the Aina Haina longs 10 minutes before closing. I pick up the card and to my surprise I got another dud. I'm not sure if it's just because their system is outdated or they're close to closing but something is not right with their systems. I waited a week or two to give the card some time to properly activate just in case and it never does. I'm so sick of the situation I merely call the store and tell them the issue and that I don't even want a new card or my money back. Simply that my money was taken and that their store has issues if this could happen to one person twice in a row. They didn't bother to follow up, but that's what I expect from Longs now. I've shopped consistently at longs for years. But I'm sick of how comfortable they are with just stealing money. Keep the $200. I'm not going to name anyone but your staff needs more training, and your systems are broken. read more

Every time I come back home, there's always some kind of change. The new wing of Ala Moana, La Tour Cafe in Aina Haina, and NOWWWW... this LONGS!! I love this Longs. It just popped up and took over the old Jehovah's witness building, right across from Aina Haina shopping center/next to Aina Haina elementary. So far, it is not crowded at all and I love how there is always parking. I wonder if it's because people don't know about it... It is a little small but regardless, it has everything you need at a Longs- snacks, household items, groceries, drugs, etc. And actually it's 2 stories with an escalator/elevator service-- the pharmacy is pretty much the entire 2nd floor. I have never seen a line for the pharmacy, unlike the stupid one that ALWAYS exists at Kahala. The only weird thing is that to enter the parking lot coming from town you have to kind of turn into Aina Haina elementary and make a U-turn since you can't turn left into it... coming from Hawaii Kai you can make a right turn into their lot. It's one of 96821's best secrets so far! But I guess I'll let you in on it because I'm sure everyone in between Hawaii Kai and Kahala will appreciate no longer having to brave the crazy Kahala Mall one like I used to... read more

Pharmacy no longer customer service oriented. Went into inquire about my second shingles shot. There was no line, and more people working behind the counter than I have seen in a while. I was told I had to come back after 3 when the other pharmacist is in, so there can be 2 of them. So it is now no customer service, we have to go when its convenient for the employees schedule, not ours. Looks like the pharmacists who used to be there aren't there anymore. Found out Daniel is in Hawaii Kai, and Sarah isn't there anymore. I went to the Hawaii Kai one and got my 2nd shingles shot, none of this come back later business. I do pick up prescription for the older folks in the family, in laws too. I told them, if I am going to pick up for them it can no longer be at the Aina Haina location. read more

This is one of those establishments you hope people won't discover. I love that it's not crowded. I love that the staff greets you with a smile and thanks you for shopping. I love that the pharmacist takes time to make eye contact with you, smile and genuinely greet you. I was a patron of Longs in Salt Lake for years because it was convenient from work. I never felt valued. When I talked with the pharmacist, he seemed put out. Fast forward to 2016. I rented a home in Aina Haina and decided it would be more convenient to pick up my prescriptions there. On my first visit, the pharmacist got me switched over, put my scripts on auto refill and requested a 90 day supply so I wouldn't have to make frequent trips. (Something I asked the Salt Lake store to do and they refused) I love these guys! I think this might be one of the newer Longs Drugs locations on the island. I remember when it was just during the building phase thats why when I would pass Kahala/Hawaii Kai side from time to time. Anyways, it is located in Aina Haina near Aina Haina Elementary School and across from the shopping center area. You cannot really miss it if you are driving in and out on Kalanianaole Highway. They have a decent amount of parking in front of the store. The store itself is not so bad. They typically have everything and anything that you would normally see in a Longs. The staff and customer service is good. They are not too busy. The store itself is pretty well kept and neat. I do not know what else to say about this location but I guess pretty solid all around. Will stop by next time I need to go to a Longs in Hawaii Kai I guess right haha. read more

This place is not too busy, which makes it nice to browse the aisles. There are some items that are more available than other locations. One item would be the greeting cards. There is a long aisle of greeting cards. They have ones that I have not seen in town. read more

Long's Aina Haina this morning. Open at 7am? We're there at 7am. At 7:20, still closed. No one answering. No one responding. People are waiting. We left. Did not meet our barest expectations. We know to expect long lines and no one available to assist. At the absolute minimum we were hopeful they would be open during operating hours. Who knew that would be too much to ask? read more

I love this new Longs location! Not only is this Longs much less crowded than both the Kahala Mall and Hawaii Kai locations but it's nicer as well. Not only is the store less crowded for a better shopping experience but the lines at the registers are shorter and there is ample parking located just steps from the door. This Longs resembles more of a CVS that you would find on the mainland with a cleaner and more updated interior. It has the standard CVS/Pharmacy items as well as the local items that you can find at any other Longs location. There are actually two levels at this location with the pharmacy and travel items located on the second level. I have been going to Longs Kahala for the last 25 years and truthfully sometimes I drive right past this Longs location because I'm so accustomed to driving to Kahala for my shopping needs. But, every time I do remember to stop here I am pleasantly surprised at the quick and easy experience. read more
