When traveling, I've been pretty good about preparing my meds for my trips... until my latest one. Coming here for nine nights, I apportioned everything about a week before leaving home. Four days into my trip, I double counted what meds I still had and noticed I miscalculated on one med. I called my Bay Area Costco pharmacy and was instructed to call the nearest one on Oahu. I spoke with the pharmacy department who instructed me to contact Kaiser to order the prescription for me by calling them. After back and forth with Kaiser, one of my SF health providers sent my refill here and I got a text from the pharmacy that it was ready for pickup. Coming here on a Tuesday afternoon after a day in Haleiwa, I drove here a little after 4 pm. There was a gentleman finishing his purchase and I overheard him repeatedly saying, "You're the best.". When it came to my turn, I gave my name and birthdate before she walked to get my meds. She was very friendly and found my prescription immediately. As she rang up my transaction, I repeated what the previous customer said to her, "You're the best". Kudos to this pharmacy for helping me during my travels and easing me of my worries. read more

Costco pharmacy is the best on the island. I Pay zero because dual insurance. At other places, I still have to pay even with dual coverages. Costco calls your dr if your prescription is empty or your prescription is done. . And refills the prescription. . Al you have to do is shop for 20 minutes. Not a problem. I just go and eat samples or get a dog or pizza outside-or shop!. If your dr is off island and prescription cannot be filled, this pharmacy LOANS you some pills til dr can be contacted. read more

I've never used Costco Pharmacy prior to my pet being diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus aka Type 1 diabetes. Her Vet, Dr Levine suggested we try the FreeStyle Libra monitor rather an eight hour stress for various reasons. 1) she was recovering from a diabetic related infection 2) the monitor would allow for more time to analyze the dosage 3) cost. The stress starts at $800 vs monitor at $78. Dr Levine called a prescription into this pharmacy, giving them my phone for them to notify me by text when ready. Later that afternoon I received a text message advising it was ready for pickup, offering delivery which I didn't know was available. Since I needed to fill up my car anyway I didn't inquire further. Off to Costco I went and picked up the monitor which was attached and worked perfectly until it fell off...she's a little 9 lb dog without a lot of body mass but we got a weeks worth of good information letting the doctor know she needed a higher dose of insulin. So the Dr said we'd leave the monitor off and put a new monitor on in one week so I texted to refilled the prescription. This week when I picked up her refill I gave the pharmacy my Costco card with my credit card.....the pharmacy tech said "oh you're a Costco member, let me see if I can get you a discount". Yes please! Apparently you can have a prescription filled while not a member. Anyway she asked if I could wait ten minutes while she got the discount handled. Back in ten minutes she called me up to the register....the cost was $36, what a surprise. Guess I assumed since I got into the store by showing my Costco card it applied to the pharmacy which is not the case. read more

My main purpose for Costco Pharmacy was to get my Moderna Booster shot. It was very easy to book an appointment online, with lots of time slots available. I found a time slot that was just about an hour after I was done with work. Went straight for the pharmacy and checked in. Waited a few minutes until the pharmacist called my name. The guy was very friendly and professional. No need to take any vitals, it was just a quick question of which arm to inject. Once it was done, he pretty much wrote it down on my vaccination card with details of today's visit. Already knowing that my 1st and 2nd were computer generated labels, anyone could have wrote it down on my health card including myself. I'm not sure why him or another staff didn't create a printed label and stick it on the back of my card. Anyways, I'm triple-vax. read more

This is where we get all our immunizations and prescriptions. You can now make reservations for immunizations on the pharmacy website, so we get appointments for the whole family, then line up for our shots. We've done not just Covid vaccines, but also flu, tetanus, hep a, and shingles. Would highly recommend everyone check the CDC website for which immunizations are recommended for you and then get up-to-date. We even get the dog's prescriptions for Heartgard and Nextgard here and save about 20% over getting them at the vet. It's easy, we just ask for a paper prescription at the vet when we get her annual check-up, then get the prescriptions filled next time we shop at Costco. easy peasy. read more

Coming from the Mainland, I was on the lookout for a new pharmacy. I figured Costco Pharmacy was a good candidate since I could grab my groceries and prescription all in the same location - two birds, one stone. The first time I visited Costco Pharmacy, I was enrolled into their system. Immediately after enrolling, I began receiving text notifications - I would be notified once a month when my prescription was ready for pick up! Pick up was just as simple - provide your name and birthdate and the pharmacist will hand off your prescription and advise you if you have any questions. This review is long overdue. I come here often for our K-9 family member who has health issues. I had taken him in when he was a puppy as he was destined to be put to sleep due to his congenital defect. When he was offered to me as no one wanted him, I could not say no. Yes, it is a lot of work to care for such a pet but Charlie is a special dog. So when a pharmacist told me that they offered a discount program for pets I enrolled immediately. I didn't know about this program but if you have pet medication needs, this is the place to get them. The prices for pet meds are lower than at anywhere else. I've been coming here for myself and my family so I was already aware of their better prices and service. But I didn't know that they provide prescription for pets. I just wish that they sold prescription food for pets. I wouldn't mind ordering them on Costo online. The pharmacists here are the most professional and often the most caring unsung heroes during these times. They take the time to educate you on your medications and are very helpful. I even discussed eggs and cholesterol with one of them and got a very enlightening tip. Well, here it is, boil your eggs for best healthful results. Avoid frying them as the chemical process adds an unhealthy aspect to them. He eats eggs often and does not have any problems. Of course, if you have high cholesterol, you should really avoid foods that may increase your bad cholesterol. An example of my personal experience is one of our pet's medications require syringes to dispense. The medication comes in pill form and you have to crush them and then mix it with water before dispensing orally. I don't expect them to remember that the medication is not usable in its pill form but when I asked for such an item the pharmacist happily provided them. This is a far cry from when you ask the counter person for ketchup at some fast food chains who seem to act like you're asking for a bit much. But not here, these people care not only about you as a patient but your family pet! If you have a pet that requires medication, be sure to come here and enroll in their discount program. Costco pharmacy is really fast and efficient. Yesterday I stopped by the pharmacy and got an immunization. They were really fast to fill out the paperwork and the wait was not long. They gave me the shot promptly, and paying was quick as well. The longest part was waiting 15 minutes after so they could make sure I did not have an allergic reaction. I also sometimes get my medicine prescriptions sent there, and sometimes they are ready the same day! read more

Hawaii kai location- Been getting the same medication for years here, never had any problems until they recently (within the last year) upgraded their computer system, now i have to always return several times to get my meds. The girls working the counter are good but something is missing- i need to show my discount card to the pharmacist everytime i go now. If they fix this problem then they go back to 4 **** read more

Did you know that you can fill your animals prescriptions at Costco. Yes!!!! You will save so much money. Our vets hate that I ask for them to call any prescription in to Costco but the price difference is insane. They will even text you when the meds are available to pick up. So just drop off the prescription, do some shopping and when it's ready they will text you. Only word of caution is that sometimes they close at lunch time if they don't have 2 pharmacist on duty. read more

I had the opposite experience at this pharmacy from some of the other reviews. I got there late as they were shutting down for the night and closed. I asked about my prescription and the clerk was awesome to help me. She found my prescription and since it was my first time there and my doc called the script in, they didn't have my insurance info. She wrote down my info, took another script I had and set me up for text notifications so they would let me know when everything was ready. All with the systems all down and after their 7 pm close time. I'm looking forward to going back! With the exception of parking, I found this experience exceptional! read more

Worst pharmacy I ever went to. Every time I go there they do not give the right amount of medication. My doctor send in prescription for three bottles of eye medication that should last just under three months. When I go to pick up the medication, they were only going to give me one bottle. I told them it should be for about three month. Then they were only going to give me two bottles. I decided not to pick up my medication there. I have no problem getting the right amount at CVS and Walgreens. Recommend going there to anywhere else except Costco Pharmacy. read more

I literally hate Costco's pharmacy, now. Previously, I had no issues with the service or time frame. I'd drop off my prescriptions and they'd be ready in 15-20 minutes. (Usually earlier...as I can't remember a time where I needed to wait). Not to mention, the moment I stepped up to the line to wait, there would be a person there who would call me within moments. That is not the case now, or for the past 5 years. Today, I watched an elderly woman stand in line for nearly 10 minutes. No one was standing in front of her, all the while the attendant was filing prescriptions, and should have been able to call her immediately. Instead, while I saw her glance at the woman a few times, never said anything directly to her. It wasn't until an off duty employee told the woman to step up to the window, that the girl at the pharmacy acknowledged her & assisted. Now, I don't know how long she will have to wait for her prescriptions, but, I know the standard wait time, for a prescription that has been called in prior to leaving the doctor's office, for my mother's is around an hour. (And by called in, I mean, the doctor, has physically dialed the phone, spoken to a live person, and placed the prescription.) Regardless. I say regardless, because I can see into the pharmacy and how "busy" they are, and if there are any people waiting to pick up or drop off their prescriptions. And nearly every time we have gone for the past few years, there have been no people waiting for their prescriptions in line or to the side and very little movement in the actual pharmacy area. Not to mention, there have been times when I have gone to pick up medication for something "common", like high blood pressure or allergy medication, and found that they were either out of stock and could only give me a portion of what I needed, or none at all. And once, had the wrong prescription completed. (which, everyone makes mistakes, so not an issue...but they didn't have the right one that I did need.) I have tried several times to bring this up to management & above's attention, but seem to get the same unconcerned feedback, along with that it's because of the "computers"...Something about prescriptions send in only being downloaded once every hour. Saving a little can be a good thing but standing in line or waiting for your prescription can be a pain and thats why i come here, to avoid these pains. But i write this review to set things straight regarding their customer service. You can easily call-in and leave your prescription to be filled, or talk with a pharmacist to even have it available at a time requested. They even call you if they know that a prescription cannot be made and will let you know when it'll be in. For the past 6 months, all goes well and comes hightly recommended, until the one time i come in assured my prescriptions be filled. So here goes my true review, a fellow team pharmacist apologizes for lack of a fellow co-working taking my call and assured me my prescription to be filled befor they go on break. I get there early before they take their lunch break from 100pm -200pm. She tells me "in early". I said i called in my prescription. She asks who'd you talk to. I replied a younger gentleman. So looks it up and apologizes. Long story short, i vent it off and she says it'll be filled right away, it'll take a few minutes. As soon as i leave, she calls me on my mobile and says my prescription is filled. Whow that was fast. My hats off for the clerk who dealt with my attitude, but then again, i was glad my pain was dissolved by quick service. That's the best part of this place, "Speedy delivery" and no lines. And if you wait... no more than 20 minutes. read more

If I could give a zero! They take forever on thier prescription and if its controlled they have to get in my business and call my doctor why I need the medicine its none of their business. They should fill the script without invading my personal issues....that's why I go to a doctor to tell them what hurts. I shouldn't have to go in detail what's wrong with me. I thought hippa laws would protect my privacy. The pharmacist are really bad and not good with Customer service. I feel shame cause its the only place I can get my scripts. read more
