The restaurant is located on the ground floor of a hotel. The atmosphere was pleasant, with tasteful decor and warm lighting. We visited late on a Friday night, and the service was still very attentive. Our waiter was kind and patient. The food was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. We ordered the Oxtail with Clams and the Hamachi Crudo. The oxtail soup was a bit salty and oily for my taste, but the bread topping was aromatic and delightfully crispy. The Hamachi Crudo was fresh and came with a unique bubble sauce that added a fun and flavorful touch.

Place is located inside of the hotel. Plenty of street parking and they also have a parking garage. Place looked clean and very minimalist which was a plus. The service was good. Our server was very friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was just okay. Honestly, not worth the price in my opinion. We ordered the Cavatelli Pasta ($37), Sobrasada ($20), Chicken Croquetas ($17), and Pan con Tomate ($12). Everything was decent, but definitely overpriced for what you get. I ordered a Coffee Martini which was $19. It was strong, but honestly, nothing special. I'd say this is a one time visit kind of place for me.

Located inside a hotel, the girls and I decided to catchup in the lounge area which had a cute and intimate ambiance. We sat at the bar high top seats, and opted for a few drinks and shared some bites. Service was quick in the beginning but a bit slower towards the end when we were checking out, but overall not an issue (we just had to call for our waitress a few times). The lounge/bar menu actually comes from their restaurant Broma which is located within the hotel - overall menu is small & bit limited in variety , but had a clear focus, mainly new American with some unique play on classics. Cocktail menu had a great variety of house cocktails along with wine/beer. Let's dig in: (1) Mushroom pot pie - this came out nice and hot, but unfortunately the flavor was too monotone and rich/heavy. I LOVE mushrooms and although there was great mushroom flavor - this def. needed something else to add bite and or make more dynamic. (2) Fried Artichokes - this was OK, lots of sauce and flavor but def. a bit too salty overall. Was only able to have a few bites. (3) Seasonal Salad - this was tasty and refreshing, the cheese and sauce added a nice richness and texture to the salad - along with the pomegranate seeds. (4) Croquettes - a bit disappointing; the inside was way too salty overall and the bed of veggies had a horrible mushy texture and seemed pretty unnecessary. (5) Tinned Octopus w/ bread - also just OK, can't really go wrong with tinned seafood but could have been spruced up a bit more with acid/herbs/etc. Seemed like they really just served what was in the tin and that was it. Also wished the bread was lightly toasted or warmed. (6) Cocktails: I had a Pisco Sour which was tasty with a nice egg white froth to it. My friend had the G&T, which was standard and very boozy although nothing unique. Also ended up trying their Ramos Fizz - although the cloud was just right, the flavors were odd and not to my taste. Overall - food all leaned a bit too salty and for the price there wasn't anything I found super memorable or would come back for. Drinks were fair, but also nothing amazing. Ultimately the food/drinks were very suited to a generic "hotel" style restaurant - and unfortunately just not a place I'd travel out for.

This is for Broma the restaurant. We had the best food and service. I want to give a special shout out to James, he was extremely funny and incredibly charismatic. I have to say, he was one of the best waiters I've ever experienced. I don't know how much y'all are paying him but he deserves a raise. Give him his raise! You made our night- Allie and Ivan.

Since we were running early, we decided to park at the amphitheater and walk to grab some food. After some quick searching, we decided to take the 15 min walk to The Emerald Hour. This spot is basically the hotel lobby bar, so just walk to The Shashi Hotel entrance and you'll see a door that says The Emerald Hour / Broma Restaurant. My CC bill was charged to Broma, so I'm pretty sure Emerald is the bar area and Broma is the dining room. The bar menu seems to be a smaller version of the restaurant menu. Food and drink at Shoreline was going to be expensive, so this was comparable. The portions are small so good for variety and sharing. I wasn't super hungry, but I was thirsty, so I tried a cocktail. I'm more of a spirit forward girl, so this was a lil light for me. But nicely balanced for a cocktail in general. Second beverage was a glass of bubbles which was a healthy pour. Service was pretty good. I did have to ask for a few things a couple of times, but I'm not too strict and judgey about that. One thing to note, they do charge an automatic 20% gratuity. It doesn't look like it was subject to sales tax, so that was nice. Decent place to grab some food and drink before heading to Shoreline. Pricey, but there not much around that's walkable. Food was good. Service was below average. Venue was bad. The bar is the overflow when restaurant Bromo is full. Same Bromo restaurant menu, but in a bar setting. They'll serve you in the lobby too, with an industrial exposed concrete chic. I wasn't a fan. Lots of echo, lots of hotel foot traffic. // Appetizers + House bread and olive oil, $8. Unusually good bread, served with flaked salt. Carby goodness. + Olives. Salty goodness - Risotto with pinenuts. You can get it with truffles shavings on top, at $4/gram. Not sure exactly how much a gram of truffle shavings is, but it covered the little bowl of risotto. It was kind of tasteless. // Mains + Green Lentils and Spring Vegtables. Decent hunk of polenta, topped with nicely cooked veggies. The lentils were added as a second thought but weren't good as the veggies. + Salisbury Wagyu Burger. Yes, it was a burger. You could taste the Wagyu. And it had Salisbury meatloaf texture. Kind of strange combination. But what made it work was the gooey mushroom gravy and aoli. It was a messy meal, but worth the $22. // Service - Snobby. Wouldn't seat us despite empty tables. Had to sit in lobby. Where we underdressed? Service there was dismissive, and the guy look uninterested in talking us. - Knowledge. Couldn't answer our questions. Was fish sustainable? (It was not). We had to resort to yelp to get descriptions of items. - Accuracy. Ordered risotto with the truffle topping. It came out without truffles. I think it was intentional. I hate paying $20 tip for horrible service, but it was a date night and I didn't want to seem cheap. And I guess rude servers need to eat too.

Came here for the Janet concert. And tbh, I was a bit disappointed. First the +, service was quick. The ambiance was nice. Second, food was average. We order the some appetizers and a the Crazy thing is the 20% gratuity was already added regardless of the number in your party. But, their was a sentence on the menu that said they "would gladly removed the 20% gratuity... Seriously? Anyway would I come here again... not sure...

The seasonal pumpkin spice cocktail was worth the wait! Light pumpkin spice was well-balanced within the cocktail. Highly recommend even if you're not a regular pumpkin spice drinker like me. Service was attentive and kind. Ambiance is classy and well maintained; great aesthetic. Cheers!

Cocktails were crafted deliciously and very potent. I think a lot of them are intended more for the sip and savor - take your time enjoy the conversations and live music. I drank mine a little too fast and hit me pretty good but no headache the next day. The servers were friendly - we sat in the lounge area next to the bar. I liked they gave us water without having to ask. The other stand out dish for me was the oyster Rockefeller. I've had many from different restaurants and I can say this was the most juicy and not overcooked/rubbery. The broth inside the shell was delectable too. I could have licked the shell clean. 5/5 drinks 4/5 for starters

Swanky place right by google offices. Beautiful setting with lots of indoor and outdoor options inside a hotel. Most entrees ~$30, with wine and cocktails to pair. THE FOOD: - Mushroom dip $14 Ok: liked the mushrooms, wasn't a fan of the toast / bread it was served with (was too sweet, and somewhere in between toasted bread, crouton and bread) - Trout $28 MEH: interior was still somewhat raw, and the veggies were overpowered by garlic IMO - Berries (side): some moldy berries were served :( - Tea: asked for mint tea (I can't have caffeine) and was served sencha OVERALL: good for drinks, maybe some appetizers but disappointed by the food. Service was okay, seemed like they're still working kinks out

What a beautiful bar! Visited while staying as a guest at the hotel. We decided to stop by after having dinner and we were not disappointed. This full bar has a small but beautifully curated cocktail menu. Not to mention the bar itself is very aesthetically pleasing. It is situated right next to the pool and has a beautiful seating area with a fire pit. The drinks were a little pricey but very strong. The bartender was cool and very flexible and was open to making some adjustments to the cocktail to suit my tastebuds. I only wish we hadn't had dinner before we visited so that we could have tried something from the menu! Would definitely return again!!

Tucked away bar/restaurant inside a resort nestled in the kiddie corner of Google. Who would had known. Dropped our son off to grab a drink and snack. Read about this quaint place and we came from a drink but over welcomed our stay. Lol. Time passes by when you are having such a fantastic time. I ordered the Paloma, anything with a hint of ginger, I'm all in! Bae had his classic old fashion. Victor was the bar manager who hosted us. The drinks were potent as can be. Sip sip savor savor. Shishito peppers to compliment my drink. We also ran into our son's classmate parents too so we shared the bar and talked and talked and talked. The croquetas turmeric and the octopus were phenomenal.

Nice spot, easy parking and a nice feel to the restaurant. Service was excellent. Had to pay $12 for some cold bread. Really? Beef carpaccio, while the steak was treated well, I tasted absolutely no foie gras, and while there were slivers of what looked like truffle, the dish had no truffle flavor. a hint of truffle oil would have done wonders. The cream pea was bland and didn't add much to the dish except color. Octopus was well executed but could have been a little (temp) hotter. Seemed as if it had been sitting out for a while before being delivered. And boy, did this dish have a lot of oil! The Dorado...fish was cooked nicely although the skin could have been a bit more crispy. The bulgar...for me... was not my cup of tea. If you like spices such as turmeric and sumac and other sour tasting spices, then you might like it. For me, not. And the super sour labneh seemed out of place with the fish. Finished up with a basque cheesecake. Kinda boring. A cold, fairly stiff cheese cake with some fruit. Reminded me of a New York cheesecake without the crust. read more

This place is NOT CHEAP, being a fancy hotel in the middle of Google buildings, but as a cocktail enthusiast I was surprised at how good their drinks were. Really hard to find in the Silicon Valley (ish area). I had the Orange Creamsicle Gin Fizz and it was amazing. A cocktail named Orange Creamsicle is usually a sweet mess of a drink. But this one was delicate, and used real orange and vanilla. I love a Ramos Gin Fizz, and you never see it on much of any menus because it's a pain in the ass to make. The other standout was the Mandarin Kumquat Cognac Old-Fashioned (real name was something more creative). Spirit-forward, but not an overly-boozy flavor. We also had a meal, and, again, not cheap, but everything we had was very good. I had the pork shank for some reason, I'm not usually a pork person, and it was prepared very well, with some interesting acidic sauce to cut the fat and add complexity, but still getting the natural pork flavor. We got some Serrano Ham as an appetizer, and we got more than I really wanted to eat (even half). The olives were warm and good, but that was a little disappointingly small. I guess because I liked them. You'd think they'd skimp more on the fancy ham. read more

Truly spectacular restaurant and cocktail lounge in Mountain View. I would recommend ordering a lot of small plates and trying some of their cocktails. Be sure to save room for dessert too. Food: The Spanish Charcuterie plate was amazing. The jamon iberico was the highlight of the entire meal. The beef tartare was my second favorite. Unique middle eastern based spices make this dish very memorable. The croquetas were delicious. Very spicy hot sauce on top gave it a nice kick and the pickled vegetables on the bottom were a nice balance. The calamari sausages were also great. They came with octopus that tasted amazing. The portion size is a bit smaller than the rest. The salmorejo reminded me of what I had in Andalusia. I haven't seen it in many restaurants around here so this was a real treat. The salad was good but not spectacular. Fresh and light on the dressing which is good. The Hamachi crudo was a miss for me. Too many strong flavors. Cocktails: Jimbo sour was my favorite Dessert: The chocolate mousse paired with the 20 year tawny is a must get. Ambiance: Very nice and modern but not pretentious. Such a random spot, but one of the best sit down meals I've had in a long while. There is a vegetable dish (Escalavida) that is beautiful in presentation and is delicious. If I go back, I would be happy with just that as my entire meal. read more

Expensive but good. I had the alentejo, the only entree which wasn't over $50. It was a pork cheek stew with clams and vegetables. There was a generous portion of pork chunks, all cooked tenderly and seasoned nicely. The clams were fresh and rich in flavor for the most part, though one clam was a little off. The cabbage and potato provided balance to the dish. I had a Trail Marker pinot noir to go with it: classic pinot nose of red fruit, really opening up nicely in the wide glass. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to emerald hour. The ambience of the outdoor area by the pool was really pleasant and cozy, plenty of heaters for a cold evening. The food was all really excellent and fresh and drinks satisfying. It's definitely pricier but the quality is there and prices are as expected for a hotel restaurant/bar. Plenty of street parking and super close to the freeway which made it a great meet up sooWould come again! read more

The Stephanie Herman Show scoped this restaurant on Sunday! I would give it 3&1/2 stars if allowed! Very pretty ambiance- great cocktails- we had the octopus which was fabulous but we did feel guilty after eating that satient soul The hamachi Crudo was the best- I highly recommend that for sure! My husband had the Pork cheeks that he loved! We don't recommend the charcuterie- over priced and felt the waiter loved it more then us! Too fatty. Croquettes were just ok. The staff are eager to help, but I feel they are still working out some minor kinks! read more

A hidden gem! Emerald Hour is located in a new hotel in Mountain View, so the restaurant was pretty empty when we went on a Sunday for dinner. We ordered two small plates, a sandwich, and an entree for two people and it was plenty of food! Drinks were strong and well made. This would be a good place to lounge and chill or for a cute date night. Highlights of the meal: - Calamari & Poblano Country Sausage (5/5): sausage wrapped in calamari with grilled octopus, really unique and flavorful - Veal Sweetbreads (4/5): first time trying sweetbreads and it was definitely interesting - the combination of dates and nuts makes it a complex dish - Alentejo (4/5): basically a pork and clam stew with pickled veggie. The pork was really tender and broth was very flavorful. - Mt Tam & Fig Melt (5/5): my favorite out of all the dishes! They were generous with the Brie cheese and the olive tapenade gave the heavy sandwich a refreshing touch. read more

I've been here a few times to settle during peak Bay Area Rush Hour 101 Traffic. The Emerald Hour is inside the Shashi Hotel. The vibes are great during the week, especially when there's live music. Never disappoints. First highlight are the bartenders who recognize you and recall your drinks. They may not know my name, but definitely know my face and drink - "Old Fashioned?" "Yes, please." These Bartenders are simply top notch. It's a show watching them craft and share their cocktail knowledge. The food is awesome. Wagyu Burger is my go to. I've tried a few dishes. Oyster Rockefeller. 3 Oysters, I'm not even an oyster person, but wow. 5 stars. They use a high end Spanish Ham, Iberico. 5 stars. 28 Day Dry Aged Ribeye with the Horseradish creme friache. 5 stars. Sherry Braised Pork Shank. 5 stars. Prices are high but it makes sense for the quality ingredients. The food is Americana with a Spanish inspiration. Simply great food and service. You'll catch the Chef, who's earned a few Michelin Stars himself, walking around the tables saying hello to the customers and repeat guests. Great gem of a restaurant/bar. read more

Ambience was cool, food was good but very small, since its tapas style, prices were outrageous for cocktails. 20% auto gratuity charge is over the top. Service was pretty good although. Because of the prices I would not come back. Easy parking garage was nice also. read more

The Emerald Hour just opened in the new hotel near Google. They have an indoor / outdoor bar setup on the first floor near the pool area. It's feels clean and modern and is certainly a nice place to hang out. The vibe reminds me a bit of the former Lure + Till in Palo Alto (sigh I was so sad when they closed). I didn't get a chance to try any of the food since I only had time for one drink. Snap pea on the rock: I once had an amazing snap pea cocktail at EMP in NY, so I was looking for something similar. This one was gin based, very clean tasting with a hint of freshness from the snap pea. Service was super friendly and professional. Great atmosphere, very modern looking! Unfortunately, I was seated at a lounge chair at a dinner table. I felt like a child and the adult table. Not sure why they have these chairs. Drinks were good, not great, bit strong. Porcini mushroom dip was delicious, and a huge serving! Its also the most money, I've ever spent on a warm dip that doesn't have crab in it. Wow! The Jimbo's Sour is the most creative cocktail I've ever had. I'd give it 6 stars :) The small plates are good. My husband and I ate the country bread, truffle almonds, and halibut. If you're going for the drinks (which you should, they're delightful) get the country bread and almonds. They're good snackers and will keep you in a good place longer. The service is excellent. Ambiance is a chill, living room feel. Gonna make this our new date night spot. read more

Came here on a date for drinks and this place was great. It is part of a new hotel, Shashi Hotel, which opened during the pandemic. Did not know it was here... The bar is geared toward cocktails, but they have good wines and beer. Best part is the cool and modern vibe. Restaurant and bar have cool be seating options that range from casual to intimate. Cool atmosphere, nice service, great cocktails, and extremely disappointing food. The menu is designed to be incomprehensible and the dishes are designed to be inedible. We ordered 3 appetizers and were so underwhelmed that we did not bother to order a main course (incorrectly called an "entrée" like many restaurants). 1. Pinchos de Boqueron con Piquillo (eggplant, baguette, anchovies) - why Spanish name only? Could not find any trace of eggplant and was told there is a thin layer of paste in the bread. It was tasteless. 2. Schmitz Ranch Lamb Meatballs - were no better than store-bought ones. Meh! 3. Croquetas de Pollo e Manchego - these were not bad - and props to the server for having recommended these in the first place. I only understood later that he may have implied "don't bother with the other stuff". But this dish wasn't able to move us enough in the direction of favorability. What a lucky discovery! I just happened to search local venues and discovered the newly opened Emerald Hour. No misnomer here, this place is a gem nestled between the cinema, amphitheater, and Google suite of offices. The restaurant has tasteful contemporary decor, with fire pits and tiki torches and overlooks a lap pool. The menu mixes bistro and Spanish influence. I ordered the Mt Tam sandwich, which is basically a glorified grilled cheese, with inch-thick seeded slices and a side of sun dried tomato tapenade. In addition to the delicious meal, I received five star service door-to-door. I was greeted the moment I walked in, and had a great chat with Katy who made sure all my questions were answered and that my meal was as delightful as I expected it to be. A stunning new haute cuisine bar and restaurant is here, and it is only a matter of time before it is filled with both serious foodies and the elite of Silicon Valley. So I decided to come before the imminent time that I would be competing for a table with Larry/Sergey (yes, it is only a walking distance from the Google HQ). Known for its cocktails, the cocktail and beverage menu is a stunner for sure. Don't expect generic here. Expect fresh, unique ingredients that create eclectic yet sophisticated drinks that you will likely want more than one of. For the record, I already decided which ones I want next time (coffee martini and snap pea on the rock). Now, the food menu might look humble to the average Yelp or OpenTable browser. However, behind a description as simple as "local fruits and vegetables" as in the case of Escalivada, could be an artisanal stunner of an appetizer including pickled cherries, fresh juicy plums, tomatoes, peppers, corn, and the most delicious and mildly spicy sauce. Just check my photos if you want to see just how pretty it is. The veal sweetbreads were great as well, and the blistered shishito peppers presented us with our new favorite way of having them (accompanied by a delicious tomato sauce). For our entries, the Mt Tam and fig melt was as one other reviewer described indeed the best melt in the Peninsula/South Bay. And the Alentejo was a stunner with so much flavor (those clams! That broth! Those tender, juicy cabbage and vegetables! And of course, those perfectly cooked pork cheeks that melt gently in your mouth and surround you with flavor. So yes, this place is great. Too many places in Mountain View focus too much on aesthetics and serve the same old, tired, repetitive entries. Emerald Hour stuns with its creativity, novelty, and the lingering satisfaction that the drinks and meal will leave you with. The service was so great as well, with our waiter being very friendly and attentive- our water glasses were always filled and every detail being thought of. I will be back and I plan to win any competitions for a table in a future no matter what googlers I'm up against :) That said, I booked this place again for 2 weeks from now so looking forward to trying all the great things I didn't get to this time. Very cool looking little spot. Atmosphere is very nice. The staff was very nice and attentive. My wife got the Paloma and was very pleased with how it tasted. For food, we ordered the pollo deep fried balls (don't remember the fancy name, haha) and they were really delicious. My big complaint would be that the menu is confusing and doesn't really explain what each dish is. I ordered d' nuts as a snack and they weren't very special, even a bit overcooked / burnt. Maybe this place is exciting for a Palo Alto crowd that doesn't get out much, especially on the stretch of California given the lack of competition. My guess is that after a few months they will be hard-pressed to find a steady crowd.

Smart cocktails with and indoor / outdoor concept. They are definitely catering to a more affluent crowd but the service was very good and the drinks were creative and tasty.
