I've been pierced and tattooed at Electric Crayon, and I've never had any problems! In mid-August 2023, I got my right and left nostrils pierced along with a helix piercing on my left ear, since there was a 3 piercings for $100 sale. All 3 piercings have healed beautifully! I followed the aftercare instructions to a T. Neither nostril formed an irritation bump, even after I switched the jewelry to hoops. The pain went away after like a week and a half, and after having them for a month I couldn't even feel them anymore. Changing them now is easy. I've accidentally brushed my face a few times, which caused the stud to fall out, but I've always just quickly disinfected the jewelry and wiped the piercing with saline before putting it back in. I don't remember the name of my piercer, but he was very nice and made the entire experience easy. This was not recommended by my piercer, but I've found it super helpful when it comes to healing piercings. On amazon, they have saline solution aftercare swabs (I have the Dr Piercing Aftercare brand ones). I carried those around with me for the entire time my piercings were healing and they made my life SO MUCH EASIER. Anyway. On February 10th, 2024, I came to this studio for their Valentine's Day flash tattoo sale. I got there around 1pm, and they let me know that it'd be a 3-4 hour wait. The girls at the front were so sweet and they had me write my name and phone number on a list so that I wouldn't have to wait at the shop the entire time. I got a call right at 5pm, drove over, did the paperwork and got the tattoos I wanted within the hour! Hailee Roach was my artist. She was awesome. She made the experience super relaxing, and answered all of my questions patiently. She mentioned that she does free touch ups, which is super considerate and I plan on going to her for the tattoos I plan on getting in the future! When I was getting tattooed, I could tell that the people working there genuinely enjoyed each other's company. The artists were talking and laughing together. The vibe is a little intimidating (at least for me) when you first walk in, but the staff is so friendly and I couldn't recommend this place more! read more

I 100% understand that the Friday the 13th deals are first come first serve, this place was doing all weekend so on Sunday I said why not right? Drove all the way up there (2hours) got there at noon. Waited literally all day just be told they wouldn't be able to take us literally an hour and a half before they closed. After having my boyfriend go and check where we were on the list, they could have turned us away then? No they didn't give us any insight about how many PEOPLE were in front of us, until they turned us away. They were calling people by groups instead of the individual itself, I just wanted one thing. I came in hoping to get my anti-tragus pierced, however, per the piercer's request he said that that area doesn't heal well. Following and trusting his advice, I wanted his creative opinion as to what other piercings he would recommend. He then recommended 3 flat backs. I found a picture on Pinterest of 3 piercings that formed a triangle (seen in pic). Javi was friendly and patient as we lined everything up. When he marked everything, it looked perfect. But after enduring the 3 needles, I looked in the mirror and saw that two of the holes where much closer together. I expressed my concern to him and he said that it will look better once I put in smaller pieces of jewelry. The total cost plus tip was $75. Then next day I brought in more business, 2 of my friends that got 3 more piercings. When I came back in with them, I again mentioned that I was worried because the three piercings of mine looked really uneven. After talking, I was convinced it was just the bump of my ear making it seem that it was uneven just because the jewelry was so big. I later changed the jewelry and saw even with smaller pieces the triangle was indefinitely not even. I texted the pictures to Javi (given by his business card) and he said I could let one close and come back in and pay to have another piercing. I was confused why I would have to pay for a mistake I wouldn't have paid for in the beginning. He mentioned that they stopped allowing their 6 month warranty on piercings, but because I brought in additional friends to get pierced afterwards, I thought there would've been a special consideration given how my piercings had nothing to do with how I was caring for them during the healing process. Definitely disappointed in the outcome and am looking for another location to get re-pierced! I arrived early to be placed on the wait list and after 3 hours I never received a call or any communication they were ready for me. I went back to the shop to see my place in line and was told they reached out to me which was a fucking lie. While we were there I started filling out paperwork and provided my ID which they gave to someone else. Customer service trash! Organization skills trash! I love this shop and they do a great job piercing. Johnny B did my helix piercing and Krysten did my conch. They were both super nice and very knowledgeable about piercings and I loved them both. The shop itself is clean to and has the clean shop smell. It has that clean smell, is open, and the paint job is sweet. They have a great variety of earrings as well along with gauge sizes for earrings. I had made the initial mistake of getting my helix done at Claire's and they joked with me about that mistake but they both did a great job on both of my piercings. Don't go during they're promo deals/ days like Fri the 13th or 420 Specials. Their system is very unorganized and all the artists are pretty condescending and rude. After waiting for 5 hours, there was still over 20 people ahead of my roommate and myself (we even got there right when they opened at 12) and we got attitude for just wanting to check to see where we on the list. I've given them the benefit of the doubt due to such high volume days but this is something I've experienced multiple times. Today, I went in to get a tattoo and Steve refused to do my tattoo. In depth, I made an appointment for 7/17 at 5pm. On the day of the appointment, I went in the shop and waited 15 minutes to find out that Steve was not in the shop due to a finger injury. Not a big deal at all. I understand that emergencies come up. I was a bit disappointed in how they communicated this with me because all I received was a missed call, 30 minutes prior to the appointment. I called the number right back, but no one answered, so I thought it was a spam call. There was no text message nor a voice message. I was told that the shop tried calling me a couple of times, but my phone records show otherwise. I had to reschedule the appointment for 7/20 at 6 pm. I went in at 5:40 to start the paper work, as I respect the artists time and wanted to make sure I was ready to go on time. I waited until 6:25 pm for Steve to start sketching my tattoo. Again, I didn't mind at all. I had previously gone in to the shop to explain to Steve the tattoo that I wanted and made a deposit when he agreed to do the tattoo for me. I respect that he has a busy schedule and understand that appointments can last longer. At 6:38 pm, he had finished my drawing. I had three minor changes that I wanted to make (more on this later). Was it wrong of me to ask the artist for minor changes on a drawing that will permanently be on my body? He then reached in his pocket and returned my $50 deposit. He told me that his next appointment was waiting and told me that I will never like the tattoo he draws. I guess small tattoos aren't worth the time and money. I am truly disappointed. My two friends got their first tattoo with Steve and I believed that Steve was truly caring about his work and his clients. These same friends were with me when this happened, and they were all disappointed in how we were treated. The pictures show the small minor changes that I asked for. The print out is what Steve originally created on the computer. The hand drawn picture is what he drew for his second sketch. The first 2 requests I had were to decrease the size of the paw and move it over towards the right. He proceeded to hand draw his second sketch after these two requests. After looking at the hand drawn sketch, I asked if he could make sure that the paw is centered to the stethoscope. I didn't even ask him to draw another sketch. You can clearly see the white background/square around the paw. He could have easily made these minor adjustments quickly on the computer. He wasted a couple hours out of my day (days...!), but he couldn't spend a few minutes to create a sketch that I was comfortable with. Why would you schedule appointments with so little time frame in between, if you, the artist cannot understand that some appointments will last longer than expected? I, the customer, was able to understand that appointments may get backed up at a tattoo shop, but I don't think Steve understood this. I believe that valuing your customers time and opinion is an important center of focus as a tattoo artist. I respected Steve's time, but Steve clearly did not respect my time. This is my 7th tattoo and I have never been so disappointed and felt disrespected. I ended up going to another tattoo shop this same day and the artist there quickly made the sketch in one go. He even took the time to fix the ECG to look like actual heart beats. After the sketch and paperwork, my tattoo took 30 minutes to finish. Steve canceled my first appointment, started the first sketch 25 minutes after the scheduled time, discriminated me for asking for small minor changes, was upset at me for being backed up, and made his own judgement about what I was thinking about his drawing. I am very disappointed. We all have bad days and maybe this was the case on this day. However, I hope that this is an experience no other customer will have to go through. Please be professional. There are many tattoo artists with amazing skills, but manners reflect how passionate they are about each, individual tattoo. I wish him well. read more

My best advice, go somewhere where you'll be treated with decent respect. How the owner, Steve, treats people is just truly not worth it. When my mother and I walked in, he wasn't willing to provide us fonts to look through because it "took too much time." After choosing my font online, I had two placements that I had in mind and wanted to see them both stenciled out so I could choose, which he refused to do. After the finding the placement I wanted he asked me to check it out in the mirror to make sure it was I wanted. I asked him to shift it over, considering it wasn't in the right spot. He then told me he "wasn't the tattoo artist for me." I walked out with no tattoo and wasted time because he was unwilling to put my tattoo where I wanted it. I called in ahead of time and waited for a few 10 minutes, filled in the paperwork and saw the different jewelry she carried made me feel comfortable and excited. I thought she was corporative from the start. Very easy to talk to, she made me feel better about getting my septum re-pierced. I also got my nose pierced and she threw in an extra piercing for me too! How sweet! The process didn't take long, and the best part was that my piercing still sticks in my face and belly. The nose piercing has always been a problem for me because it'll never last, but this time, I've been in a rough road with it and it still stays in. I went here to get my nipples pierced. My piercer was so nice and gentle and comforting and helped me when I was feeling anxious. Overall, she made my experience great with her customer service. However, there was very little privacy, but they made do with what they had by using a room divider. I'm also quite disappointed with my piercings. They are uneven, off centered, and go through my areola instead of the nipple. I think I'm going to take them out and get them redone because I really don't like the way they look. My 18 year old son made an appointment and paid deposit on shop CC machine. Artist texted and cancelled 1 hour before appointment time and rescheduled for the following day. She then text the next day and cancelled again. She offered another day, the stopped returning messages. I went into shop and was told she no longer worked there and since they are all independent contractors we needed to contact her for deposit refund. Since she will no longer respond guess we are screwed. I tried to warn my son about going to sketchy places and he didn't listen, guess we have to chalk this up as a loss and lesson learned. I moved to CO from CA about 2 years ago and I had an amazing artist back home. I was wanting to find one here and got a little worried and hesitant that I wouldn't find someone amazing. I got my tat done by Johnny. He was so friendly and made things more comfortable for me. It's not my first tattoo, but it is my first one in about 5 years. I told him I was nervous and he made small talk with me to distract me. Super helpful! Prior to this I came in for a consult and he was able to talk to me right away. Perfect timing. I got a tattoo from Johnny B. Here not long ago. He had good pressure with the tattoo gun but at times he was heavy handed and there is a small blowout towards the top of my tattoo. This tattoo is all linework so it's fairly noticeable. Though I'm disappointed about the blowout the tattoo is still exactly what I asked for. I hope the blowout fades within time since it's not too pigmented. I would have given 4.5 stars but majority of employees were also not wearing masks so I took of .5 for that. read more

Kristin T. did my nose piercing and I was EXTREMELY nervous because I'm not a fan of needles or pain but I really wanted my nose pierced. She was VERY good at distracting me throughout the whole procedure. Before she even started the process she explained everything that she was going to do, and everything that I would experience during the piercing process, and the healing process. She made sure I fully understood the aftercare and even offered to change my jewelry when it was fully healed. I would definitely recommend Kristin if you are looking to get a piercing especially if you're nervous about the whole thing like I was. This review is late...but my experience here still bothers me. I went here in hopes of doing a cover up, obviously went because of reviews. I went in on a Thursday evening after calling ahead of time to see if anyone was available, they said yes come on by. I got there and set me up with piper, he looked at my tattoo & helped me brainstorm some ideas. It was getting late so we set an appointment for the next day. The next day, I went in, Piper the one I set the appointment with was busy...I understand tattoo sessions go over expected time frames of course. So I stayed in the area to keep myself occupied, they said they'll call when they were ready. Well it became 7pm and I got a call from a young lady who said they were ready for me. I wasn't far, drove over there to find out that piper was "gone for the day".... Not only was I pissed, i talked to piper about my schedule and he knew that I wouldn't be able to go in the following day. On top of that, I never received an apology, matter of fact, I never even received a PHONE CALL to reschedule. I understand businesses get busy especially working on commission but my time was wasted just as much as his. I've gotten two tattoos from two separate artists here and I am very pleased with both!!!! My first tattoo- I was in the mood to do something spontaneous so I thought what the hell. Why don't I stop by to see if they have any openings. I talked to Johnny B and scheduled an appointment for the following week. Because I couldn't shake the spontaneous mood I ended up getting my belly button pierced by him that same night too. Johnny is great! I had the idea of my tattoo forever I was just looking for the right artist to piece it together for me. I wanted a traditional Flash (the superhero) tattoo on my calf. When I told him my idea he custom made my design and it turned out beautiful!! And I am absolutely in love with it, the color is vibrant and the detail is incredible. The only bad thing is that the tattoo must've of been in a suuuuper tender spot because it hurt like a bitch and my leg hurt forever it felt like (a little over a week) And it wasn't my first tattoo. He definitely has a heavier hand. We didn't talk much because I was in so much pain but the experience was still great none the less. Now for my second tattoo.. I walked in on a super spontaneous mood again not being able to wait to get my tattoo from Johnny. I wanted one right away so I figured I might be able to stop in for a small bumble bee tattoo since that's always been my nickname from my mom and had a lot of meaning to me. I walked in and met piper. I was looking at random portfolios and happened to pick up his and talked to him about my bee. I went from wanting a small bee tattoo to getting this super bad ass Albert Einstein bee Armageddon tattoo the day before my appointment with Johnny. Piper is so creative! I was weird about interpreting a skull into my tattoo but it was totally worth it and it became my style!!! We put it on my arm and now I can't wait to add more to it!! I get tons of compliments on both tattoos! If you're looking for good quality unique tattoos from creative artists then this place is for you!! Decent pricing in my opinion as well but I also believe you get what you pay for. The shop is very clean and professional and set for a great tattoo and piercing environment. My girlfriend and I went to get a tattoo today. They said all of their artists were all booked up for tomorrow but they had a walk in available for tonight so we went. When we got there we talked to Antonio and my girlfriend told him that she wanted a tattoo near her butt (which was part of why she wanted me to come in the first place: she felt slightly uncomfortable about it) and he insisted that he would not give her the tattoo unless I wasn't there. One might think this is because of the covid situation, but there was a group of 4 or 5 customers nearby in this small shop socializing (not social distancing at all), and there were several customers and employees without masks, including Antonio. This tells me that they weren't taking covid guidelines seriously here, and that Antonio only wanted to give my girlfriend the butt tattoo without me there. When she told him that we won't be getting it today, he told her to come back tomorrow without me for her butt tattoo (even though we were told before that they were all booked up tomorrow...he wanted to give her that butt tattoo really badly). She feels uncomfortable there and I honestly do as well so we will not be coming back. If you're a woman, watch out if you're getting a tattoo here, especially from Antonio. read more

Javi was out of town so the back up piercer Bri did my nipples. They were uneven and she pierced my areola. Both my sister in law and I got our nipples done and both of us had to get them taken out not even a week later. Javi was very helpful and removed them for us. I would not recommend going here for piercings unless javi is available. I am very disappointed. read more
