Being that I'm more of the expert on Blade we made minor adjustments and it came out beautifully. We changed some nuances so my art ink was run of the mill Blade. I usually like coming to places where they have a good piercer and that's the only reason I come here. The ladies at the front is a different story, especially the one dressed in mostly black. The attitude is atrocious. And there were a few times where I came as a walk in and they let a walk in who came in later on before me even when I had an appointment and then they lied to my face about it. So maybe they could learn to be fair and honest about that. Also didn't care to hear and was grossed out hearing them discussing their genital piercings. Otherwise Patrick is great. read more

I decided to go to bound by design because a friend recommended one of their artists , I booked my appointment almost a month before hand and emailed the artist a few times about designs and ideas and sent photos. Also messaged her on Instagram. Two days before my appointment she finally got back to me and asked me to come in for a consultation to go over everything. I found this to be irresponsible and it did not make me feel comfortable having her work on my body. Overall, besides a portfolio, the only way to gauge that person's attentiveness is through communication and she did not communicate well at all. Went to get my lips pierced. Specifically a Medusa and vertical labret piercing. My piercer, Patrick, did a phenomenal job! It has been days since I got the piercings and I have little to no pain. He took his time lining up the markings on my lips to make sure the piercings would be even, and told me exactly what he would be doing, and how he would be doing it. There wasn't a moment where I didn't know what I was in for. No surprises, and nothing unexpected. I've been thinking about getting a simple nose piercing so decided to bite the bullet and do it for my 62nd birthday. Went in on a Sunday about midday without an appointment. The shop is bright and clean and welcoming and when I turned to head to the counter I was greeted by Ophelia. I had to wait while she waited on a group that came in before me, so I got the opportunity to browse some of the jewelry in the case. After that group left, Ophelia had to help a woman that had just gotten a nose piercing. It was a bit complicated because the woman had questions and wasn't comfortable with her piercing. I got to see Ophelia in action! She listened, answered questions, tried explaining what they could and couldn't do (the woman wanted a gauge of jewelry they don't offer) and was over all very patient with the customer. Next it was my turn. She showed me options (I just wanted something simple and sparkly) and helped me decide on the size I wanted. My piercer was Michaela and she was super sweet and professional. My piercing is well placed and I was told how to take care of it while it heals. Should I decide I want more piercings (not very likely! LOL) I'd have no hesitation coming back to see her. I love that they have online bios for all their artists. After researching a few highly-recommended piercing shops, I brought my 7 year old here to Candice to get her ears pierced. The young woman at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. The studio was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. They had an impressive selection of available starter earrings for only $20, and a good number of additional options at varied prices. My daughter picked out a stunning pair of purple synthetic opal earrings (they also had blue and pink) which were one of the baseline $20 options. A note to any parents who bring their child in: a physical, original, full-size, certified birth certificate is required for all minors. This was my first time going to a piercing studio and I did not realize this; initially we went in with a picture of my daughter's birth certificate and were told (very nicely) that it was insufficient as per the Colorado Department of Public Health state law. At first I was somewhat frustrated that the website only said, "The child's birth certificate is required", and did not specify that it had to be a physical, original, full-size, certified birth certificate. In retrospect I understand why this is the case and I should have assumed that it would be, but adding a few more words to the website would have saved us some driving time and not tied up an appointment slot for Candice. They very kindly did not charge us a missed appointment fee. Luckily Candice had an open appointment later that evening, so 2.5 hours later we were back with my daughter's original birth certificate and it was go time. Candice was wonderful. She is fun, friendly, approachable, and professional all at once. She talked directly to my daughter about how the process would go, treating her with kindness, dignity, and respect. Candice let her know that we would only move forward if and when she was ready, because it's her body and she is in control. Candice had my daughter (and me) check and approve the markings before the procedure, and she let us know that she was willing to remark as many times as we wanted until we felt the positions were perfect. Throughout the process Candice had us chuckling and relaxed, and the piercing went very smoothly. There really is no substitute for an awesome personality and 18 years of experience. My 10 year old wants a cartilage piercing someday, and should that ever come to pass, we will 100% be right back here with Candice. Couldn't have been more pleased. read more

I really gotta hand it to Patrick, our piercing artist, and Nails, our consultant! They were the real MVPs when my friend and I came here for the first time on a spontaneous, anxious, and eager Thursday evening. We came in at around 8:30pm before the store closed at 9pm, and there was a wait -- maybe 5 people or so in line ahead of us. It was really cool that we were still guaranteed to be seen long as we were in the door by 9pm. So in the meantime, we asked Nails all the questions we had about cartilage + lobe piercings, and hovered over the collection of studs for a hot minute. She was super patient with us even though we were clearly newbs and it was quite late on a school/work night. Thank you, Nails! When it was time to get our piercings, I was so relieved to know that my piercing artist was so chill, informative, and reassuring. He told us exactly what he was going to be doing, what we'd be experiencing, and how long it was going to take. He even marked up the potential piercing areas and gave us options for where we wanted the holes to be. He made us feel calm and comfortable, like we could really trust him. What I liked best was that he'd tell us how and when to breathe -- inhale right before the puncture, and exhale that exact millisecond of the pain. It took a lot of the anxiety away, and in the end, I felt so accomplished. He also walked us through how to heal and care for our piercings in a very thorough manner.
