I came in on Friday the 13th of February for a daith piercing during their special sale. The girl that did the piercing was adorable and seemed very comfortable performing the piercing. I had no complaints. It's now the end of May and after months of pain and no healing I remove the piercing only to find a CURVED BARBELL. Every piercer knows that it is not recommended nor the industry standard to pierce a daith with a curved barbell. I've removed piercing and will allow it time to heal before I find a piercer with more/better knowledge on such piercings to have it redone. Now that I understand it would never heal with that jewelry I wish I had taken it out months ago and not attempted to nurse a piercing that was done incorrectly. It's been the most painful piercing experience. Save yourself the pain and damage that inappropriate jewelry and uneducated piercers cause and go somewhere else. You'll end up somewhere else getting it fixed anyway. Find a shop that cares about their work. Not one that provides be cheapest service. read more

I've gotten a piercing here and I have no complaints about that. However, my friend and I did walk-in tattoos and Zach was the only artist available. We waited, which is completely fine, but his attitude sucked and he acted like we ruined his day by getting tattoos. He also rushed through both tattoos, and as such, they turned out extremely poor. We've both had to get them touched up after only a few months of having them. His line work was less than stellar and the healing was not good. This was my friend's first tattoo and he made it a bad experience. If you come here, please see Paige or literally any other artist than Zach. The piercers are amazing though!!! read more

I've come here a couple times to help with my piercings. They have cute jewelry and the piercing professionals are always nice. You let them know what you need done and they will price it upfront for you so there is never an awkward situation during check-out. The piercing is a flat rate. However, depending on the jewelery piece you choose it could be more or less. I've always done a walk-in during the weekday and have not had any issues getting seen. The only challenge here is slowing down enough off Broadway to make the right turn into the lot. They do have a lot in back, but you can miss the entrance easily if you're going too fast. read more

I read the reviews, mostly the negative ones and that sucks for them because that was not the experience that I have had here. Today was my third tattoo here and I will come back again. Derik is a great artist and I have never paid as much as I thought I was going to have too for the work done. Shop is super clean from what I have seen and the staff has always been very friendly. The first time I came here was as a walk in and that experience was just as pleasing as when I made an appointment. I can see how some people are put off by how open the shop is (Derik's chair is in the same area as the cashier and the waiting area) but that doesn't bother me as I will probably never see the other customers ever again, besides I was enjoying my own business so I didn't really care about people watching me. read more

I have gotten pierced here before (snakebites) and went back again to get spiderbites, however the piercing professional did not do the placement correctly. I warned them before it was pierced about the bar length being too short for me (currently my skin is about to form over the piercing ) and I asked about the placement but was brushed off. it turns out I was right about needing a longer bar and it being in the wrong place (too low). $120 down the drain for bad piercings. My friend and I were looking for a new piercing shop after having been to a few other places. We scheduled an appointment over the phone and we're seen shortly after. Everyone was so kind and the atmosphere was super welcoming! I loved how many women were working here and how helpful and patient they were when I asked questions about practically everything haha. Holli helped me with finding the right placements for my piercings and the owner stepped in to take a peek and came up with a great idea to swap the jewelry so it would better suit everything I was already wearing. I felt like I was surrounded by a people who were genuinely happy with what they were doing and were hyping me up. My friend wanted a different septum hoop but wasn't able to get it off. After working with the owner, another woman who pierced her (I didn't catch her name, but she had an awesome nose piercings!) and the owners husband (I believe he runs the tattoo portion of the shop?) they were able to pry off the old jewelry she had been pierced with from a previous shop we visited. We found out it was 12g which is suuuuper thick, especially as a first time piercing. They were so kind, patient, and got upset on our behalf of having to deal with the poor work of the previous piercing shop (rhymes with "rage".. may or may not be located in Littleton...) I tried relentlessly to remove my nose stud so I could get an MRI but it was too hard for me to do on my own. I looked them up and went over in a panic. The women that helped me were sweet as can be and so reassuring. They got me in and out quickly and I went back the same day to have the retainer removed and the stud put back in. We went to the flash sale. The pricing was poorly explained and we were never informed the piercing jewelry advertised on the $31 sale was not the included jewelry. I wrote on my paperwork I was a first time customer so they should have explained better. There was plenty of time to let us know as we stood at the counter chatting with the pay for quite some time. Our bill should have been under $100 but when we went to pay it was almost $300 without tip. At this point the jewelry was in our bodies so we paid and left. Have had several piercing done there and all went well. Decided to have a couple of tattoos done and didn't go well. After the purple template wore off, the tattoos look mediocre at best. Was told that I would have to pay for any "touchup" even though the ink doesn't look close to the original template design. Would recommend for piercing but not tattoos. read more

Got both of my nipples pierced here and it was honestly a great experience! 50$ per nip which includes the basic rods but I got titanium rods which was an extra 25$ each and then also got the 12$ cleaning solution -- they do both at the same time which is amazing and everyone is so nice. Went on a Saturday afternoon and only had to wait maybe 15 mins as a walk in! Whole thing took maybe 20 mins and they schedule an appointment 4-6 weeks after to switch out the longer rods for shorter ones. Overall 10/10!! read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. I took my niece here to get some cartilage piercings and some first hole repair and third hole for myself. We went without an appointment on a Friday afternoon. There was a 20-30 minute wait but the staff was great about keeping us updated. Hollie was our piercer and Jess the owner weighed in on our piercings and completed my nieces more complicated one. My 6 year old daughter wanted to get her ears pierced for her birthday and we scheduled an appointment with Clean Slate based on similar online reviews. The staff was very attentive to and age appropriate with my daughter (despite the majority of their customers being older and there for tattooing services) and went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable with everything going on and address her nervousness before and after the piercing took place. The piercing room and tools were clean and sterile and they did an excellent job of explaining proper cleaning and care for home. Highly recommend them for child's ear piercing. read more

I first came to clean slate in December of 2023 to get my nose jewelry changed out. When Nina finished putting the jewelry in we noticed that the piercings did not align on my nose. The previous piercer (not affiliated with Clean Slate) messed up on the holes and I never noticed till getting the jewelry changed. I was devastated. I made the decision to take one of the nose piercings out and let it heal. Fast forward to today I had a giant scar from the former piercing but Nina and the Clean Slate team reassured me that I could still get the desired look I wanted which was even piercings. I am so glad I put my trust in them because they not only managed to make my new piercings even but covered the hole from the previous piercing. I do not recommend this studio. I was coming here for a custom tattoo from a certain artist. The artist left Clean Slate and the studio would not give me my deposit back. I talked to 2 people on the phone regarding this, neither of which were helpful. The manager I talked to was not friendly and very pushy about the situation. I still have not received my money back. I have been here previously for a tattoo and they did not keep the original booking date. Had I not called about a different tattoo, I would not have known that they erased my appointment even though they had my deposit. They made this right by getting me in the day after I was originally supposed to get my tattoo but it was a very frustrating situation. Overall I have not had a good experience at this studio. This tattoo shop is my go-to. Pretty much every single one of my tattoos come from this place and from a couple of different artists. The artwork and service never fails to satisfy my expectations. I have mainly received service from Derik in the past, but he is absolutely incredible at what he does. I have found a love for his flower artwork, which is basically all that I have gotten tattooed from him, in addition to this Phoenix bird I added on my right side this year and some line work on my back. This shop is super cozy and right off Broadway if you are looking for some place reliable or last-minute.
