This review is a warning to tattoo artists considering employment here…read more I was hired as a commission-based tattoo artist. After being hired, expectations were changed without prior agreement. Artists were required to act as unpaid front desk staff, security, and salespeople - for long periods(the whole day), despite not being hourly employees or compensated for those duties. In addition, I was told to participate in extreme discounting, including being required to complete two tattoos for $100, which significantly undervalues artists' labor and time. Because they were price matching & they were another artist clients... which has absolutely nothing to do with me. This was not disclosed at hiring and directly impacts an artist's ability to earn a sustainable income. Especially at a 50/50 split Management blamed artists for missed walk-ins while failing to provide basic systems such as a dedicated front desk, proper door access procedures, or clear written policies. You will be forced to take off your gloves, answer the phone or door DURING your tattoo process. These expectations were enforced through long, reprimanding group messages rather than professional one-on-one communication. When I professionally questioned these expectations and asked for clarification around role boundaries, compensation, and discounting practices, I was terminated shortly after. No performance issues were cited. I was also told by Chad Wayne on video, that he shouldn't pay me my tattoos and tip because a tattoo appointment left. I was handed 3, THREE walk-ins at 12:17pm when I had an appointment at 2pm, I was told "you should be able to get these done before 2pm" I finished at 3pm - the appointment had left. Chad had stated I made the appt. wait with NO communication, which is FALSE. She knew what was going on the whole time as I came down during the 3 tattoos to let her know AGAIN where I was at with the current process. But he stated "I shouldn't even pay you this because of B*** and we have to tattoo her for free now" I also had to argue with him about said payment, in Colorado after being terminated an employer is required to pay you immediately, or 6 hours into the next business day. Chad refused at first , then ended up paying it. If you are an artist who values transparency, respect, and being paid appropriately for the role you were hired for, do not assume this shop operates that way. Get everything in writing before accepting a position here. Artists should be tattooing -- not running unpaid front desk operations or being pushed into unsustainable pricing under threat of termination.

Most recent tattoos are the Rick and the space man. Those were done by Joe Blackstone. I came in with these two as stencils and Joe put his artistic touch/shading to them and they turned out better then I imagined. I am so happy and please with all the professionalism, cleanliness, and especially friendliness. Prices are fair and posted behind the cashier for transparency. These people have it together! I highly recommend Summit Tattoo and Piercing.

Some people may view tattoos as a spur-of-the-moment sort of thing, but I am not one of them. I…read morehemmed and hawed and stressed and second-guessed every single idea I had come up with for years about adding another piece to my body. I had dozens of ideas in my head, all intertwined and making just too much noise to be able to explain what I saw in my head. It is stressful to me, nothing less. Billy saved the day. I've been lucky enough to know him for awhile now, but had only recently seriously approached him to work on a piece. He set aside time that worked for me to come into the shop and check the space out, and bounce some ideas off of him. He patiently waited while I spouted off an incoherent string of what I thought was nonsense, wordlessly picked up a piece of paper, and quietly sketched out the beginnings of what I wanted. He assured me he understood what I wanted, though i honestly have no idea how he thought so. I left and waited. A couple days later, he sent me a message with something that was ever-so-close to what I had in my mind. We went back and forth over a couple days and finally he sent me a finished product that blew me away. I couldn't believe it; he obviously had to have somehow mind-melded with me. We set an appointment for a few weeks later, and when I showed up, felt right at home. The anxiousness and nerves were still there of course, but I felt GOOD about what was going to happen. Their shop is impeccably clean, warm & inviting, and obviously a purely-professional spot. No mess laying around, no needles sitting out, no paint or ink spilled, nothing. If I didn't know better, I would have thought I was their first customer ever in that space. A few hours later, my piece was complete! I seriously cannot say anything else here; everything is a 5 outta 5, A+, multiple stars experience here. Billy made sure I was happy in every single step of the journey, from idea to checking out the mirror with a freshly-done tattoo and everything in between. I am a worrywart to the max, and I felt as comfortable as ever here, and am excited to come back again soon. I 100% recommend Templar Arts to everyone.

I was researching tattoo removals and coverup ideas when one particular tattoo (Pennywise) caught my eye. Turns out that tattoo (unbeknownst to me) belonged to my son's friend. Coincidence or karma? The artist was Tommy. My son also got a great looking portrait tattoo thanks to Tommy. I decided to take a shot and my experience was fantastic and so was my coverup tattoo! So to all the Yelp-era folks I say this: If you are a first timer, are looking for someone new, even had a horrible first experience like I did...I highly recommend considering Tommy at Templar Arts Tattoo!

Some of the lines are fading horribly, too thin or way too dark, the leaves idek what to even say about those... and some of the lines are extremely uneven. I was recommended to do a coverup but a different tattoo shop bc of how bad this was but I tried to give it a chance to look half way decent. I even had my tattoo artist shade in the leaves and even then the line work just ruins it completely. Also not to mention I have 23 tattoos and all of them have healed perfectly and I have never had a single issue but this tattoo healed awful/caused itching where I thought I was going to get an infection. Not sure if the products used here are actually good quality or disinfected properly... Definitely getting a cover up in the future but good luck everyone else!
