The pancake was so tough I could barely cut it with a fork. The ham wasn't even warm, and while the eggs were okay, they weren't anything special. The biggest letdown was the cinnamon roll--it was extremely dry and tasted like it had been sitting out for days. The only bright spots were the hash browns, which were cooked perfectly, and the latte, which was decent. I'm hoping this was just an off day. I will try one more time.

Since Crepes & Dreams in about 5 minutes from my house & I was very hungry for lunch, I decided to…read moregive it a try. I'm glad I did. From the moment I entered, I saw a very clean & welcoming spot! About 10 tables & towards the rear of the restaurant, there were 2 booths as well! The lady that took my order had to be of French descent, I immediately noticed her accent. She was extremely helpful in pointing out things on the menu. She asked if I wanted Sweet or Savory, and I really wanted a lunch dish that showed me who Crepes & Dreams was. I decided to go with her recommendation of the #4, which consisted of the house mix, Ajvar(almost spread that had tomato & eggplant, plus spices), fresh mushrooms, cream cheese & my choice of cheese, I went with Swiss. If you're a vegetarian, you're going to have a lot of options, but don't get me wrong, there's plenty of meat options also, plus you can make your own. The order took around 10 minutes, but I had my fresh lemonade & there were some people ahead of me. I saw another woman of French descent, I think she was an owner. She had a brief conversation with me before my food arrived, then went to help the other woman behind the counter. Everything is made out front in front of you. The menu broken up in 2 categories, Sweet and Savory and they are very easy to read and on blackboards right behind the register. The crepe arrived & let me tell you, it was huge. The picture I took of it does not do it justice. I finished about half, and asked the woman for a box. Both the box she gave me & the plates the crepes are served on, are definitely recyclable. I will say that take out boxes & dinnerware have made leaps & bounds, since I was in the biz...great to see! My next visit to Crepes & Dreams, I'm probably gonna get a Sweet crepe, unless I'm hungry for something Savory! Again, you will not be disappointed when you try this restaurant.

Tina was our server and she was wonderful. She helped us with deciding what to order and did not steer us wrong. I ordered the avocado toast with smoked salmon. It came with 2 eggs and was served on a delicious grain bread. My husband ordered the ham steak and eggs with a pancake. The ham was tender and tasty and the pancake was heavenly. There is plenty of inside and outside seating. Easy parking in the parking lot. And, the restrooms were very clean. I highly recommend you stop in for breakfast or lunch if you are in the Highlands Ranch area. I understand there are other locations as well.

Orders were then quickly taken including 1 order that included warm milk (for which they have no microwave or warmer.). But by golly they warmed some up! I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict. The taste was great and spot on. However, it was served on ciabatta bread. It turned out the ciabatta bread was REALLY TOUGH. Perhaps that's why it was served with a steak knife! Anyway it was unnecessarily tough and distracted from enjoyment. A 10 for taste but a 4 for the ciabatta. I do appreciate the ability provided by First Watch for use of smart phone payment. + Arleene was STERLING!!

It was more of a cinnamon sugar biscuit than a traditional cinnamon roll, but large enough for four of us to share. It was a little dry in some parts so definitely grab a spoonful of the glaze when you put it on your plate. The overall flavor was fine and I'm really glad I shared it with friends. I heard you could get one frozen to go and you just heated up at home just as good. For my sandwich, I ordered the Lola. It's a Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich with Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Bacon, House Made Honey Butter + covered in Maple Syrup. Pro tip, have the maple syrup on the side or your hands will be very sticky when trying to eat it. The overall flavor of the biscuit, fried chicken, bacon, honey butter, and maple syrup was a really good combo! The biscuit was just a little more crumbly than I'm used to, so I struggled eating it as a whole sandwich. I would definitely get it again, but cut it up into bite-size pieces and eat it with my fork. There are a couple other really good options on the menu that I want to try so I'll definitely be back!

Second Visit, and It Lived Up to the First This was my…read moresecond time at this restaurant, and I came in with high expectations. On my first visit I ordered from the breakfast menu, and it was excellent, the kind of meal that makes you start planning a return trip before you've even paid the check. So this time I decided to branch out and try something different. I went with the Cobb salad, and my partner ordered the chile relleno platter along with the nachos as an appetizer for the table. It was a nice mix, something lighter for me and something hearty for both of us to share. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff were cordial and welcoming. Nobody rushed us, and we felt genuinely glad to be there. The restaurant itself was very clean, which is always one of the first things I notice and one of the things that tells you the most about a place. When the food arrived, the portions were plentiful. Nobody was leaving hungry. Everything had a little bit of heat to it, a touch on the spicy side, which is exactly how I like it. It gave the meal some real character without overpowering the flavors. Two visits, two great meals, and friendly service both times. That kind of consistency is hard to find. What a great experience all the way around, and I'm already looking forward to visit number three.

The hostess was extremely friendly, very conversational, and we definitely got that Southern hospitality. Our waiter, Ben, was extremely helpful when it came to questions we had and dishes that he would recommend us to try as first timers. We started off with their monthly special of fried okra and it was very delicious especially dipped in their homemade sauce. The okra was lightly battered, fried to perfection, and had a little spicy kick to it for every bite. Both my wife and I went with Ben's recommendation of the Monica-Smothered Catfish and Pork Chops. It was great to know that you could order the lunch portion during dinner hours and we did just that as we weren't too hungry after getting off the plane. The catfish fillets were cooked perfectly and it paired well with the crawfish tail cream sauce. One of the best catfish dishes I have eaten. As for the pork chop, it was grilled perfectly as well and the vegetables were a nice side. Also, one of the best pork chop dishes I have eaten. The creamed potatoes were delicious, but I didn't expect melted butter on top. Since the restaurant was busy for dinner service, there was a hiccup with our toddler's meal and Ben resolved it very quickly. I wished we had room for dessert because the descriptions were definitely mouth watering and Ben did ask us a few times if we wanted to try the beignets as they are a top seller. All in all, we would definitely come back here whenever we're in Colorado to try other dishes as well as the desserts! Service was excellent as our waiter and the other staff made our dining experience very smooth and seamless. They checked in on us in a timely manner and made sure we weren't missing anything. The restaurant was clean and had a good mix of the Colorado outdoor and the Southern/New Orleans decor. The parking lot is a decent size and we always saw it full whenever we left the hotel during lunch and dinner times.
