Nice, solid spot right at Cascades Park. Location of the former power plant, makes this an interesting and cool vibe with some history. Makes for a good before show or event dining option or for breakfast before taking a walk around beautiful Cascades. Parking can be tight, but there are spots near the park area. Hostesses were friendly.

Loved it! I had very low expectations of this restaurant because I've heard so many mixed reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our server, Cam provided exceptional service! He was so patient, attentive, and helpful with our orders. He never made us feel rushed or as though we didn't have his full attention. That goes so far. We got the ahi tuna (too much spicy sauce, so I had to send it back), fried chicken with gouda grits and eggs, buffalo chicken wrap, lavender cocktail, and Benedict. Everything was chef's kiss good ~ especially the gouda grits. I will be back!

The bar area is awesome. Great for Happy Hour or eating at the bar.

Passing through Tallahassee, I landed at The Edison for dinner on a Tuesday. The Yelp reviews are all over the board for this place. Lots of 5 stars, most mentioning the historic building. Lots of poor ratings for food quality and service. I sat at the bar and had a few craft beers from Tallahassee breweries and an Edison Salad with grilled chicken. The beer and wine menu is full and nice. This place is great for Happy Hour, no doubt. Here is my rating of my dining experience. Happy Hour - 5 stars. The ambiance is spectacular. You only need to see the posted photos to see that. This building was Tallahassee's first power station. It stands 104 years old! The indoor and outdoor spaces are 5 stars! This property is a great asset. My salad was okay. Interesting items like artichoke and goat cheese, red pepper and pecans. The house vinaigrette was incredible! I asked the bartender what was in it and she did not know. It tasted like a spicy mustard/horseradish dressing. I loved it. The chicken portion was generous but it was tough and dry. A better restaurant would get the chicken breast hot, moist and tender. Not here. Food a 3 stars. Staffing, lots of college kids. Some are great. Others are clueless. I had no service issues and I love the energy of the young people. Service at the bar was a solid 4 stars. Overall, this place gets 4 stars from me. A definite Happy Hour watering hole. A casual dinner, sure! Maybe outside when it is nice. For a big dinner evening - nah.

Dinner at the Edison it's a must do and even though we came right when FSU had a big game it wasn't too full , most of the inside seating required reservations but we got to sit at the bar and it was a full service bar . The mermaid drink with rum and blue curaçao was delicious surprisingly not too sweet . I tried the chicken pasta and spinach it was so fresh and just the right seasoning not too overwhelming . Cute location with great vibes for friends and to hang out and have arch the game !

Great spot right at Cascade's Park. There is a lot of seating inside with a bar, plus tables outside. We visited on a Sunday night of move-in weekend and they had a lot of reservations so we were only able to get a table outside. There were plenty of fans to keep the area cool. The food was great and came out quickly. There were temp issues with two plates, the steak and salmon, so food had to be sent back to cook more. Overall the service was great. Plenty of parking in the nearby park area.

If I could give 6 stars to the Edison I would. Startling with the unbelievable atmosphere, we sat at the bar which was such a vibe, and the bartenders were so fun and were super attentive . The menu is perfect for ordering everything you can and sharing, and you can't go wrong with whatever you order. We started with the fried green tomatoes and got the lobster pasta as our main. And we could not forget dessert. We got the key lime pie which was monstrous and was probably the tastiest thing of the meal. (Also don't forget your cocktails and wine! The offerings here are just as good).

Excellent dinner at The Edison. The shrimp appetizer was banging and the salmon entrée was perfectly cooked and paired with buttery mashed potatoes. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The perfect end to a long day. I'll be returning for sure!

Not sure why this place is getting butchered by all these "1 review" reviewers, but this Elite is here to tell you, this place is great! It has been consistently great every visit! The service and staff were excellent, the drinks were interesting and delicious, and the food was outstanding! Fun lively atmosphere with interesting decor. Love that it's the only fine dining restaurant in Tally open on a Sunday night, bravo!

We had high hopes for The Edison, but sadly, the food was not worth the price. The ambiance was lovely as it had high ceilings with the original electric building vibe, and it looked out over the Cascades park. Ordered: Skyway Chicken: Grilled chicken topped with Caprino cheese, roasted red peppers, basil, and white wine lemon butter. The chicken dish was delicious; however, the sides of mashed potatoes and green beans lacked flavor. Boot Ranch Pork Chop: A sweet, tea-brined, thick pork chop served over peach chutney and topped with candied, savory bacon jam. The pork was very thick and a little tough to cut. The bacon jam and peach chutney were delicious, but I did have to ask for extra chutney as there wasn't enough to go with the giant slab of pork on my plate. Once again, the sides were terrible. GO FOR THE DRINKS We did order two drinks: Park Bouquet: Lavender, Elderflower, Lemon Special, What She's Having: Cucumber & Lemon Both drinks were 100! Delicious. Light. Refreshing. Compliments to the bartender. Overall: Go for the drinks. Skip the entrees.

We stopped here before leaving town to come back to Miami, but I was a bit disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful and I saw that there was a second floor and it looked like they were having an event up there so that is great to know. But as for the food I was not happy. The brunch menu was very limited and they do not see ice coffee that you would have to buy at another restaurant downstairs if I understood her correctly. My favorite thing was the avocado toast and that was it. I returned my breakfast bowl because it it had melted white cheese on it and it did not taste good. Maybe the dinner menu is better. Our service was good and she was always checking in on us to make sure we had water and to see if we needed anything.

Gorgeous sunset! And yes house divided;)

Most amazing experience. The food was incredible and I highly recommend. We were seated outside with a gorgeous view of the sunset. Service was great too!

The vibes at The Edison were super cute and fun--definitely a great spot for a night out and was walking distance from my hotel! The staff recommended the giant pretzel because of the beer cheese, but they did mention they recently changed the recipe. Unfortunately, it wasn't my favorite, the pretzel got hard very quickly and made it hard to enjoy. On the other hand, the Skyway Chicken was delicious! The goat cheese was an unexpected surprise but really nice touch as it's my favorite, adding a bit of creaminess that balanced the dish well. The mashed potatoes and veggies were also well-seasoned and made for a great pairing. Overall, I'd recommend checking this place out and would definitely come again!

It's a more expensive restaurant in town, but you get what you pay for- and the some. Excellent quality. This is the type of restaurant that needs to be nationally ranked. I went on a Tuesday night and reservations were required for indoor dining-it was full inside. There were plenty of people at the bar and there is also outdoor dining. We had the BANG BANG SALMON BITES, BREAD SERVICE; and GAMBAS AL AJILLO as starters/appetizers. The salmon bites were very good and original. I think most will enjoy the gambas (shrimp in garlic) at the Monroe, but I'm partial to the Spanish traditional style which is very heavy garlic. My table had the following dishes: SOUS VIDE LAMB CHOPS; JAPANESE SHORT RIB; STEAK DIANE (8oz and the ribeye (larger portion); BLACKENED SNAPPER; and my entree, AMERICAN WAGYU RAGU. I tried the steak (ribeye) and it was very good: medium rare. The 8oz steak at the table was cooked medium and although the person enjoyed it- you need to be clear you want to have the steak medium rare, it makes a huge difference. Lastly, my American Wagyu RAGU was great and very original. It's a comfort meal. I needed to add Parmesan, but it was meat heavy - which I loved. The dessert menu is ridiculous. Someone had the ice cream trio & . I had the Monroe Wonderball, see video and/or picture. It speaks for itself.

Here is where we go for that special occasion. Tonight Carson was our waiter and he has years working here for Drew (Alas absent tonight), Savour's owner. Carson knew the menu cold along with favorite recommendations. Drinks were excellent and they have a great wine list (although the "by the glass" list was pretty short). We elected to split the Wedge salad (trust me it's more than enough for a $3 up charge) and had the Whipped Feta Cheese with Pita to go with the salads. Charcuterie board was not on the menu tonight. Since Christmas is around the corner and a Prime Rib looms, we elected to forgo steaks. Carson described the Scallops and the description matched the dish exactly. Four big scallops with a great sauce mounded on a bed of fresh corn and (sorry I didn't see what else was there). I had the fresh fish (blackened Flounder) in a New Orleans spicy sauce and rice (I'm not doing this justice). Carson advised this was spicy and it was. It was out of this world. A home run by the Chef (please come out some evenings and say hi - and take a bow). Dessert was a Lava cake with ice cream, one of 4 desserts offered tonight. Trust me, if you like gooey chocolate (like having a chocolate soufflé), this was the keeper. Service was impeccable. We missed Drew welcoming his guests but his team has been there a long time and were quick seating us. Carson was everything you could ask for in a waiter. Fully knowledgeable about the food (he started in the kitchen years ago), checked back often, staged the timing perfectly (how rare is that!) and we are sure to ask for him again. A great evening and the rain had stopped by the time we were leaving. Of course we will be back.

A couple of regulars were sat next to us and told us to get the bruschetta oysters, which I'm sure the servers/bartenders will try to sell you on it. But honestly, just listen it's a great dish! We were greeted immediately by valet upon pulling up in the parking lot and seated pretty quickly once inside: The service was spectacular! They were attentive and funny. The ambiance is almost like an upscale bar, nothing too extravagant. Food/drinks: the cucumber breeze was really good. It reminds me of freshly pressed cucumber juice. I could not taste the alcohol at all; it was refreshing. We started with the crab cakes. The menu described them in a completely different way than they were presented-- the outside was very breaded, almost like a boudin ball, but not over-fried to where the crab was minimal. It was interesting, but not bad. As an entree I had the 14 oz. ribeye accompanied by shrimp and sides of a baked potato and asparagus. The shrimp were large and decently flavored, the baked potato was superb, and the asparagus was so charred, it was almost inedible. The steak....was mediocre at best! I've had a better steak at Longhorn. Service: our server was pleasant but not overly attentive. This wasn't an issue, though. Overall, I don't think I'll revisit unless I'm getting a cocktail only *shrugs*.
