Impressive menu of fancy drinks listed by eras here. Old time ambiance/environment that is classy. The drinks are strong! Servers were nice and attentive.

I was on a business trip alone in Tallahassee. I needed something to eat and Bar 1903 was within walking distance of my hotel. I don't often eat in restaurants alone, but this was a really pleasant experience. The place is small. It was a relatively quiet atmosphere. I got to just be alone with my thoughts and the food that was brought to me. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was friendly and helpful without being invasive at all. I was not in the market for alcohol so I ordered a "Can I Have A Mocktail." It was a satisfying blend of flavors that I had not thought of putting together. I also was not in the mood for heavy food, so I had the mushroom toast, which was fantastic. My dinner was light enough that I opted for dessert and got the Purple Sweet Potato Tart. It was one of the best, most interesting things I had tasted this year. If I'm in Tallahassee, with friends or by myself, I would go out of my way to go back to Bar 1903.

Decor was very nice. Arrived during happy hour and the bar was pretty full. Limited seating. Got a seat at the end of the bar next to their storage/dishwasher area. The bartender was very attentive. Ordered a Medianoche sandwich and it tasted great, very authentic. Only con to this place is that they don't have a kitchen so the food is cooked in the same bar area in a corner so the whole place has a very strong smoke smell. Also ordered a bread pudding to go which the seasonal flavor mentioned by the bartender was a white chocolate cranberry, when I opened it later on, it ended up being with regular chocolate.

This hole in the wall bar transports you to 1903, literally! The venue is a small, renovated library and the drinks are cleverly broken down by decade of creation. It was interesting to see that part of history and see when those cocktails were created but most noteworthy is the LARGE selection of drink options. It look me so long to order because there were so many unique options to choose from, and the bartenders patiently responded to my questions and provided suggestions. The charcuterie board was tasty but I do think they need a few more selections on their menu for food, we had to go to dinner elsewhere for a full meal. Overall, amazing ambiance and bar and will definitely be back!

This is our second visit and is our new fave bar in town! The building is an old converted library so the ambiance is really nice! Drinks are really interesting as they have SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM. They are sorted by the eras they were popular in, so the menu is quite extensive. My fave is the Mundo Perdita. I also had a seasonal drink at Christmas called the Coquito, delish!!

I absolutely love a hand crafted cocktail. This is the perfect place to come unwind for a date or a small 2-4 person group outing. The bartenders take their time and craft to perfection. There is a large selection of spirits to choose from abd I love that their menu is setup by decade and the provide a picture of the glass your drink will come in. I have never ordered any of the food as this is usually a pre or post dinner stop for us. I am sure it is great though! My favorites: Champs Elysse

We were fortunate to grab a bar seat when we stopped in on a Friday night. Bartenders were awesome and helpful with finding the right drink with such a huge menu. I loved how they had drinks from all sorts of eras. The space was really cool being an old library. Not sure how safe upstairs is but that would be awesome if they could just open it

I love this bar!!! Interior is just breath taking and you can't get bored looking around at this previously library. The upstairs and fireplace are amazing. The drink menu is impressive especially that everything is organized per era. Drinks were delicious as well as the appetizers!!! The mushroom toast was great and filling - plenty for 3 people! Same for the delicious burrata platter. Only thing slacking might be service as sometimes you have to get the attention to place an order and all drinks are so specific, for only 1 bartender it's time consuming when it's a full house

Drinks and food; perfect. Staff even better sooooooooooooo goooooooooo please Thank you!

This was such a fun place to get a drink and small bite. The bartender was so knowledgeable and walked me through all of my indecisive choices until I picked a drink I wouldn't have normally ordered but was delish! And the person next to me let me know she ordered the same and liked it. The cheeseboard was great too, best feta I've had in a while.

    Sherona T.

Really cool concept bar with a really extensive cocktails list with the drinks organized into decades. Their cheese boards are unique, with unexpected items like picked green beans and curried cauliflower. If I had to describe one drawback, I'd say it's a smaller location, so definitely not a place for large parties, but perfect for an intimate date night. It's also a favorite of lawmakers during the legislative session, so be prepared for a packed house and a wait if you go then!

This place is so cute! The drinks were great and so were the sandwiches. I ordered the Pressed Muffaletta and it was amazing. My friends ordered the Medianoche and the Spicy Capicola Grilled Cheese and they loved it too. The service was pretty good too.

It is a small place, so best to call ahead but it is so worth it. Wide drink menu, fantastic drinks and food. The bread is fresh from The Hawthorne so the sandwiches and combo boards are top tier. The bartenders are great as well, attentive and knowledgeable. I've had every old fashioned on the menu now and the rum is my personal favorite. Our local favorite spot.

The pictures are from a recent event they did to showcase Monkey Shoulder whisky. They also now offer charcuterie boards from Little Paris, a restaurant nearby. A nice addition! But here's what's really great about the Lounge: if you aren't sure what brand or type of liquor you might want to buy or try, ask for a flight. We wanted to explore various toed of gin and they poured us a flight of different brands. But more than that, they poured it for us straight up and with tonic so we could try then both ways. Then, since they are part of and connected to the liquor store, we could go next door and buy the gins we liked. Pretty cool and very convenient.

Though you cannot enjoy a cigar inside they have a nice covered area outside the lounge. Spirit availability was impressive for the size lounge. I was interested in Redbreast Irish Whiskey and they had 12, 15, and wow 21!!! The lounge inside was what I consider small, bar seating, and some table and comfortable chairs. The outside area was covered. Comfortable chairs with tables and ashtrays to handle about 25+/-. Two TV's. There are standing fans and heaters. There was no service to the outside area, so you picked-up your choice of spirit and got comfortable outside. We enjoyed our spirit and cigars with no one complaining about the smoke. It happened to be a very rainy night and the north area was a bit flooded, but no leaks from above. Pro Great selection of spirits. Cigar and I think cigarettes, evidence by butts in the ashtrays, are allowed outside. The inside lounge was very clean, as well as the two unisex bathrooms. Con The flooded area was unfortunate, but there was only three of us, and it didn't cause an issue. The Ashtrays had been mostly emptied, but not wiped down. Really not inviting to rest your cigar on a dirty ashtray. An easy wipe with a microfiber goes a long way. Not really a Con, but there was no Service outside on the Tuesday night we visited. Overall a nice experience for a dreary night. My friends and I will return, hopefully on a nicer evening. Note: If you don't bring your own cigar, the liquor store has a small selection available right next door.

I had recently heard that this place is a Michelin notable and now I know why. Don't be fooled by the nondescript, gray exterior, the inside is adorable and cozy. Valet is complementary which is a nice touch. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Service is incredibly quick from the time you order to when you receive your meal. Food was absolutely delicious. Hubby and I ordered a few appetizers as well as the chefs tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The appetizers we chose were the charred octopus and the fire roasted oysters. Both were wonderful but the octopus was a standout. For the tasting menu, it changes daily and is 4 courses with a dessert course to round out the meal. Ours happened to include: Sausage w olive tapenade, Filet w tomato and veggie chow chow (so tasty), Duck tostada w avocado crema, Elk filet w hasselback potatoes and asparagus (show stopper), and Orange rice pudding w pistachio cookie crumble which was such a nice, light way to end the meal. One thing to note: they automatically add 18% gratuity to your bill which is split between all front of house and back of house staff. Anything you leave above this will go directly to your waiter. There is a card they leave when they drop off the bill that explains this more eloquently than I am but I found it to be unique that they openly discuss it instead of adding it to the bill with no notice or explanation.

**Review: Solid Steak Dinner at The Edison**…read more I had a pleasant dinner at The Edison recently and walked away satisfied, especially with the food. Service was just okay--nothing terrible, but the appetizers definitely took longer than expected to come out. That said, our server was genuinely good: friendly, knowledgeable, and checked on us at the right moments without being overbearing. The appetizers were worth the wait. Both the fried green tomatoes and the crab appetizer were excellent--fresh, flavorful, and nicely executed. For the main course, the steak was spot-on: tender, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly as ordered. The potatoes that came with it were also really good--creamy and tasty without being heavy. We ended the meal with the bread pudding, and it was one of the best parts of the night. It was done perfectly: warm, moist, and full of rich, comforting flavor that didn't feel overly sweet. All in all, The Edison delivers on the food front. If you're after a reliable steak with some standout starters and a strong dessert, it's a solid choice. Ambiance was good, love the historic building. I'll definitely be back for the steak and bread pudding. Recommended!
