One word. Yum, I wanted Steak and Lobster and I got it! We were seated immediately. I ordered a Long Island, my vacation drink, and the steak and lobster plate. It was ok. The steak was ok but the lobster made up for what the steak lacked. The lobster was juicy and a little sweet. The butter was the perfect amount of salty. The potatoes and asparagus were on par. The long island snuck up on me just the way I like it. I will be back! Our server as also the coolest. I think she was French (so fancy).

Stopped by the dutchie on Friday night for dinnner and everything was great. Our server was very attentive and nice. We ordered cocktails, appetizers and some entrees. Everything we ordered was amazing. The clam chowder was creamy and flavorful. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce was creamy and had great taste. The calamari and crab cakes were crispy and packed with flavor.

Ate here on a sunday early evening. The service was super good, every staff member is helping with every table. Got lots of free refills on a diet Pepsi. I ordered the half dozen oysters and these were great, especially with the horseradish sauce. Also the bistro fries were good, but very oily towards the end. I got the cioppino since it offered so many different seafoods. It was super light and needed a bit more salt. There was plenty of calamari in it, loved the lobster tail as well. I didnt eat the garlic toast that comes with it as I'm gluten free but my partner said the toast and the soup didn't complement each other. They were just both good on their own. We also ordered the local rock cod and this was good. The vegetables could use more seasoning though

The wait was only 5 min to be seated, but the wait to be waited on was about 15 min, than another 20 min to 30 min for our food, thank goodness our waiter was very nice and apologetic to us for everything. The clam chowder soup and bread bowl was so delicious! I couldn't even eat the bread bowl, it really fills you up. I had a bite of my son's hamburger, and for the price and taste I was very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend the burger to anyone. The ambience was nice, the employees were all very nice as well. I will definitely be back. The view is amazing at sunset, you are overlooking the water and the rock.

The restaurant offers great views and excellent service. I ordered a sandwich, but I also had the chance to try my husband's fish and shrimp with chips. I'm usually not a big seafood fan, but I have to admit that I really enjoyed the fish and chips at the Dutchie. My husband insisted it was because the seafood was so fresh, and after trying it, I believe him.

A pleasant surprise, with a few caveats. The Dutchie in Morro Bay ended up being better than we expected. Cool space, good service, and genuinely great views to go with it. The standouts were the dishes that leaned on freshness. The rockfish ceviche was excellent, and the tataki was really great as well, both clearly built around quality, fresh seafood. Where the menu dipped was on items that seemed like they were working from frozen rather than fresh product. The shrimp croquettes in particular fell flat compared to everything else we ordered. Overall a good experience and worth a visit, especially if you stick to the fresher, more special items on the menu.

Lightly breaded calamari , was delicious

Great food and our server Tyler was great throughout. We would come back again. Bill Steele from the ship museum down the road recommended this place. All together this restaurant had a great atmosphere and view. We were able to see the famous Morro Bay rock.

Dutchie was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The seafood is excellent, especially the specials of the day -- every recommendation was spot-on. I had the sea bass with a crab cake, mushrooms, and spinach, and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. The restaurant is very kid-friendly, which we truly appreciated, and the views right on the water made the entire meal even more enjoyable. A huge shout-out to Tyler, our waiter -- he was exceptional, attentive without hovering, and his recommendations did not disappoint. We had such a great experience and are already looking forward to coming back.

The food was good, and the service was okay. The restaurant had a great ambiance, and I appreciated that it was pet-friendly. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively affected by inappropriate comments that were made, which we found racially offensive. This was disappointing and made us feel uncomfortable during our visit.

Clam chowder bread bowls, Local Rock Cod, and Fish, Prawns, & Chips
    Raymond Y.

Saw the other Yelp reviews and everyone was raving about clam chowder bread bowls. We ordered two of them, and the Local Rock Cod + the Fish, Prawns & Chips (subbed with onion rings). Definitely see the hype with the clam chowder bowls--it was absolutely stuffed and filled to the brim (and spilling over) with a healthy amount of clams, potatoes, and other goodies. I thought the cod was decent but lacked a bit of flavor. Fish and chips were good and I liked that there wasn't an excessive amount of batter. I liked the onion rings as well! I wish we came during the day so we could see the views of the ocean, but we'll have to visit again

The food is absolutely delicious and large quantities. They don't skimp on anything here. I ordered a calamari appetizer and I'm telling you it was enough for four people. Really it was enough for a meal. But I also ordered a meal which also turned out to be absolutely delicious. I ordered the steak and lobster. The service is very elegant and the ambiance is classy and the restaurant overlooks the water. Everything about this restaurant is wonderful!

    Lobster tail

We had a fantastic dining experience at The Duchie! To begin the restaurant itself is in such a cool location being right on the bay the ambiance is incredible. Our server Tyler was attentive knowledgeable and extremely helpful, he was able to give me suggestions about both the Tomato Burrata salad and help me pick out the steak I wanted. I ended up ordering the Hanger steak with a side of lobster. The steak was perfectly cooked and the lobster was delicious and buttery. We finished off our meal with the Basque Cheese Cake which was the cherry on top of a fantastic meal!! Of course, our server Tyler was the one to suggest it for us. Tyler's service was second to none, he really made me feel like family. I'm super grateful for the wonderful meal, it made this vacation one I won't soon forget !!!

Amazing food and service. Great view of the sunset over the water. Will definitely come back. I recommend everything we got: calamari, fish and chips, salad

There was also parking right in front, with no line, which was convenient. I wanted something fried, but when I saw that they use canola oil, I decided to go with the salmon tacos instead. Salmon isn't exactly a local fish, but it's usually a safe bet, especially when it's fresh frozen. I got the salmon tacos, which came as two tacos on two tortillas. The salmon was topped with a little cabbage and tomato, melted cheese, and what seemed to be some onion and cilantro. They also included a small serving of salsa. Overall, they were decent, but not the best salmon tacos I've had. One thing that was a little annoying was that some of the salmon had the dark "bloodline" still attached. I usually scrape that off because I find that part of the fish more bitter and strongly flavored. That's especially awkward with tacos because you're trying to remove it from pieces of fish that are already in the taco. I've had salmon tacos elsewhere where that part had been trimmed off, so there was nothing to deal with. No bones, though. The tacos were a little pricey at just over $20 with tax, but you're in a tourist area and it's California, so that wasn't exactly surprising. They made for a decent meal, and sitting outside was pleasant.

I was in town road tripping and happen to be on Embarcadero Street, the main touristy drag on the edge of the harbor where the Hofbrau is located. So off we go. The Hofbrau is tucked a bit beyond the front sidewalk, it's easy to miss. There are a few parking spaces (including ADA) in lot in front of the eatery. The lot is compact and requires a few 3 pt turns to maneuver about. So as I stepped into the joint. The cashier gave us a sincere welcome. Having told her it's our first time here, she let us know that we order and pay at the counter with the food brought out to us and there is no assigned seating. I asked what's their best selling hot sandwich. She advised to get a French Dip. So I did. Drumroll please.... unfortunately the sandwich fell flat. The roast beef was flavorless and dry. The plate came out without the au jus. I didn't notice at first and had to go back to the counter to ask for it. But aw shucks, the au jus turned out to be lackluster as well. Lacking distinct flavor. Both the sandwich and au jus temp was lukewarm. Disappointing. Could it have been an "off day"?! Anomaly?! Let's talk about the view! Impressive. The interior dining room diners can get the same great views of the harbor, ocean, the Morro Bay as the patio diners. We scored an outside table. At first, I was extremely concerned with the busy body seagulls. But it wasn't an issue. They stayed clear. So the scenery did lessen the disappoint of the sandwich. And from the reviews, it seems the chow-da and fish n chips were worth looking into more so than the carved meats. Next time.

Their drinks were only offered in a small cup and I was getting to-go so I stopped by Dollar Tree to get sodas. The wait was longer than expected even though no one else was in line. There is a station outside for condiments. They use one of those electronic alert buzzers to tell you when your order is ready. The fries were good, chicken had the right dipped outside (instead of breaded) but inside was sort of like fake chicken and not enough Ranch dip was included. The burger was dry and the lettuce had cooked!! I will, of course, come here with my family again but after this experience I am not sure what I will order!! Too bad, because this is our go-to spot to meetup.

The sauce and crab cakes were amazing, the steamers (with the broth!!!!) is something you would want to taste and experience for yourself. the servers here do a very good job and our server was Cathy who was AMAZING. We stopped here on our way to Morro Bay every time and have a meal here. It's never a disappointment. If you come here a little bit before the dinner hour you can always sit and watch the rock on the bay. It's a nice ambience and don't forget you can bring your dog.

Our server also said he would come back to refill our drinks, but that never happened. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was honestly the worst one I've ever had. It tasted more like water with a very faint hint of whiskey. It may have been sitting at the bar long enough for the ice to melt, but either way, it was not enjoyable. The food was very basic as well. Nothing that came to our table really stood out or impressed anyone in our group. Overall, between the slow service, disappointing drinks, and average food, the experience just wasn't worth it. We won't be coming back.
