Fish & Chips - Clam chowder in bread bowl
    Jaquelin V.

Visited during 4th of July weekend, was craving fish & chips real bad & they definitely satisfied my craving. The fish was nice & soft, fries were perfectly crispy. The service was good, ordered quickly & straight to the point. Prices were a little high, but can be expected for a little tourist coastal town. I paid around $42 for an order of fish & chips, a drink, & a clam chowder in a bread bowl. They have cute little picnic tables with umbrellas to sit on that were nice to eat at, there were a few birds around but nothing too bad. Would definitely have again, if I return to visit the area.

Seafood combo small clam chowder. 5 piece fish and chips and small clam chowder.

Clams were overcooked. Hard and crunchy. No taste of clams just hard corn meal breading. Fish was excellent. I won't order the CLAMS AGAIN. DEFINITELY fish and chips and chowder are worth coming back for.

The fish and chips were perfectly fried with the right amount of breading so it didn't over power the delicate fish and flavorful tartar sauce. The fish was so fresh tasting and the skinny fries went perfectly with it! The clam chowder was a nice chunky consistency and tasty. For service, you order at the counter, get a buzzer and self service for condiments. Seating is outside of the hut with views of the marina. They don't serve beer but you can grab some at the bar next door. Plenty of parking all over so it's a perfect place to stop and have a quick bite!

Food was not bad. But service is not good. They forgot half of my order. They made me bring back all of my food to confirm that they forgot half. They didn't give anything in bags so we had to walk all the way back just show them. The burgers I ordered were supposed to have avocado none of them had avocado. The garlic fries were just a bunch of chopped up garlic thrown on top.

This is my favorite spot to stop at every time I'm in the area. Honestly they're the perfect chicken tenders. They do have quite a few items on their menu but it's my go to when I visit. It's also nice because you can sit outside and eat by the ocean. Their fries are also the perfect amount of crunchy. We ended up eating here two times during our trip because we love it that much. My friend also ordered the fish and chips, she had been craving it since we came a while back. Everything tasted soooo good :')

On my way out of Morro Bay area, I saw Lil Hut Fish & Chips and was curious on its biz name so I dropped by to check it out. The exterior looks like a hut with the kitchen inside it. No inside seating, but there are outside seating. They have a good menu selections of fish & chips plus chowders along with burgers, hot dogs, salads, sides, and drinks. I went with their local favorite combo special that comes with 2 pieces of fried cod fish, garlic fries, cup of chowder, and garlic bread for $18.50. That was a pretty sweet deal! The young gentleman who took my order was nice. He gave me a buzzer and once my order was done, I got the buzz. Fried cod fish was very good... all fish lightly battered just the way I like it. It came with tartar sauce that I did not hesitate to use LOL. Garlic fries were surprisingly tasty. Chowder was so yummy... full of clams and other veggie ingredients. Garlic bread was decent... nothing spectacular. All in all, it was one delicious dinner! So glad I gave them a try. I would eat here again the next time I'm in Morro Bay. Thank you Lil Hut!

My friend recommended I visit here during my visit to morro bay. Honestly I'm not sure why the reviews are as low as they are, this is a super solid spot! It's right on the water and has great views of the rock. The singular downside is the slow service at the window, but that's about it. The food, however, was exactly what my partner and I were looking for as a snack before heading to Santa Barbara. We got garlic fries and clam chowder. The clam chowder was great--perfectly creamy and suited the cold winter day well. The garlic fries may have been some of the best fries I've had. Nothing fancy about them, just super crispy with an amazing crunch with every bite. They were super generous with the garlic, as garlic fries should be! Will definitely be back on my next visit

My partner and I came to Lil Hut for a snack on our Morro Bay trip and it was very yummy! It was a cute little walk up hut with a view of the water. We ordered the garlic fries and clam chowder; the clam chowder was very heart warming and I loved how much garlic were on the fries. The service at the window wasn't as fast as I would have hoped but the food made up for it. Definitely would recommend lil hut!

Make sure to get extra lemons, here's my left overs

Had to come back and get the best fish & chips. It's hot, delicious, and the tartar sauce is the best. $17 is worth every penny. I have to get these everytime I'm in town and the view of morro rock and the smokestacks are iconic.

When we entered the dog-friendly patio with our little Goldendoodle, Bailey, a large dog seated at the table closest to the only patio entrance lunged toward her and bared its teeth. Since it was the only way in and out, I let the staff know I was concerned. They immediately spoke with the owners, who moved their dogs farther under the table, and after our meal, the owner's father went above and beyond by opening the rope barriers so we could exit another way and avoid walking past them again. Both the father and son were incredibly kind, understanding, and accommodating, which we really appreciated. Once we were settled, we were able to enjoy the beautiful patio. It's a quaint waterfront spot with gorgeous views, a relaxing atmosphere, and the perfect setting to enjoy fresh seafood. Bailey was promptly brought a complimentary bowl of water, and we loved seeing so many other well-behaved dogs enjoying the patio. It's easy to see why this restaurant has such a great reputation for being dog friendly. We ordered the King Salmon Quesadilla special, and it was absolutely delicious. It was packed with generous portions of fresh salmon, plenty of melted cheese, and vegetables, and it was more than enough for my mom and me to share. My brother also really enjoyed the tri-tip sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and was served hot. While we wish the aggressive dogs had been seated somewhere other than the only entrance to the patio, that wasn't the restaurant's fault, and they handled the situation as well as they could. Between the excellent food, beautiful waterfront setting, dog-friendly atmosphere, and genuinely caring owners, we had a great overall experience and would happily return.

Those that had the clam chowder said it was "A+" and some said they really liked the large clam chunks in the chowder. The fish tacos had large pieces of fish and everyone was very happy with their tacos, some saying it was "to die for." We will definitely be back! The patio seating was lovely and they had live music that was such a nice touch. One of the employees was actively going around and cleaning tables and offering bowls of water to the dogs! She was super nice. Many of the patio tables also have small leashes so you could put your dog on that and not have the dog get all wrapped up in their regular leash. Very dog friendly! Highly, highly recommend. Edit to add a few details that are important to me but probably nobody else: 1. It is in easy reach of 2 pokestops and a power spot. 2. It has self-serve pump ketchup so you can get plenty

The store itself is quite small but thankfully there wasn't too big of a line so it didn't feel too cramped. We ordered a dozen small oysters to start with but they were so good we ended up ordering two large ones to try out. The oysters here are cold and fresh with a bit of brine in the beginning and that mellows out to a sweetness. I regret not bringing any home. The clam chowder is something you do not want to miss out on. And the complementary sourdough bread that is included is exquisite. We tend to always be a larger party, somewhere between 8 & 12 attending. This year there was a bit of a snag in that they have few larger tables that can accommodate us, and that was being used when we arrived. The issue was not the fault of the restaurant, just a thing that happened, causing the wait to be significantly longer as those before us were deeply engaged in conversation. The staff made other accommodations for us by creating a large table out of numerous two tops, which we appreciated very much. Our server was Kathy, and she was absolutely delightful; could not have done anything better. She was pleasant, humorous, very accurate and efficient. I let Kathy know it was my brother's birthday and she arranged to have a beautiful chocolate mousse delivered to the table and we sang happy birthday to him, making for an even increased great experience.
