The food was so delicious and had huge portions. Liked that it didn't have the crowds that Giovanni's has either. It's a fast casual place, and the cashier was fine, thankfully not rude, unlike others' experiences. Only problem was they forgot one of our orders. Which was pretty bad considering it wasn't busy. I'm here today for the witch paddle and after a fun day paddling in the bay, wanted a plain old hamburger. The uninterested lazy male employee was told 3 times NO THOUSAND ISLAND, just meat, cheese and ketchup. $11 later and I bite into the most vile hamburger OOZING nasty rancid thousand island dressing. Meat tasted old. Fake Kraft singles "cheese". $11 for a nasty burger- no fries etc. A vending machine hamburger would've been a huge upgrade. How difficult is it to follow directions for a hamburger? Shame on you people. Excuse me now while I go puke. Husband unfortunately chose what was supposed to be fish and chips . A couple dried up rotten battered pieces of mystery fish and a half assed handful of old stale cold fries that were obviously "cooked" in rancid oil that's probably never been cleaned or changed. This place has been around for a long time but this is the first time I tried it. I ordered fish tacos. They were the weirdest fish tacos I've ever had. They had dried up fried fish pieces in a flour tortilla and then topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and olives. I took all that stuff off and just ate the fish. It was dry but edible. Not delicious at all. Just edible We also ordered shrimp cocktail. It was very bland. Lots of cut up celery in a bowl with small shrimp that had no taste. Cocktail was from a bottle. Lockdown fish and chips. This place Always delivers very consistent flavors. I had the 3 piece meal with fries. I am not a fri fan, biting these are yummy. The right crisp and seasonings. I ate half of them The portion is large. My husband and I split this meal easily and we added a coleslaw for good measure. The total was about 18 bucks. We were not impressed with the food. Burgers don't come with fries you have to add them for $2.50. The fish and chips were nothing special, no flavor and extra greasy!! The young boy working the cash registered was on his phone when we walked up and took him a while to look up to see me standing there. I had to say "hi" to get his attention. When I asked him if he could tell me what the shrimp salad came with he REALLY had to think about it as he was rubbing his eyes super hard. Looked like he was bored and tired. The Crabby Patty was pretty good, full of colorful produce. The bun was so light and tasty, so happy they didn't use a cheap white bun from Vons. Clam chowder was good. If your expectations are set right, Lil Hut makes for a great snack while visiting the Morro Bay wharf.... Tip- Check out the submarine across the street at the nautical museum. read more

I guess that's a good thing (some people like their chowder clammier than others)? ‍ The deal breaker was their iced tea. Now I've had my share of drinking tap water but this iced tea was nasty. I even added two packets of sugar in the hopes of killing off the nastiness but to no success. Do they try the food and drinks they serve before selling them? Weird fish tacos, like a funky salad on a tortilla, not a fan at all. They are made with the same fish as the Fish and Chips; cornmeal batter (like catfish coating) rather than the flaky batter which would be my preference. Came to this place on my way out of Morro bay and we really enjoyed it. I see a lot of people complaining about pricing but we ordered two burgers with fries, clam chowder with a bread bowl and their toast all for around $55 which considering the prices of other places in the area was not bad at all. I was unimpressed in every way. We ordered two fish tacos, fish and chips and two sodas - 30 buckaroos. The tacos were more like a salad with flour tortillas, tomatoes, unrinsed olives, and dry fish. Gross! My prior fish taco experiences have always had a corn tortilla with a bit of cabbage or slaw; much better this way! The fish was dry and flavorless, yet the fries were ok. You can't really go tooooo wrong with fries though. There were about four small cubes of ice in our sodas and when I asked for a cup of ice, the guy was clearly irritated as he handed me another four cubes. Seriously!
