    Grilled Oysters and clam chowder
    Danny W.

This spot is favorite place for grilled oysters and has an amazing view of Morro Bay. The oysters are grilled to perfection and slathered in garlic butter making this a memorable eat. The clam chowder was great, but it's about the oysters. Also, this venue has live music and super dog friendly. Last, if you're lucky you might spot some sea otters swimming by during your meal.

Such a beautiful and atmospheric place with fresh oysters and great food. Whenever we are in Morro Bay, we always stop here for something delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing, the seafood is fresh, and the whole experience is always wonderful

Looking forward to some fresh Seafood. This a a place to be. Their tacos and Baked Oysters was Delicious. The service was exceptional. With the Live Music and the Fresh Ocean air makes it very Relaxing. Would totally recommend this place for the whole Family.

Two of us and our pup came on a Saturday around 11:30am. We ordered a dozen raw oysters and the combo fried seafood and grabbed a seat. There were maybe 5 other parties there, but we were lucky to get a table on the edge and with some shade. Maybe 10 minutes later, they call your name to pick up the food from the counter. The oysters were good medium sized oysters, meaty and delicious. The fried seafood combo came with fish, scallops, shrimp, calamari tubes/tentacles, oysters and fries. The batter on the shrimp looked really thick, was actually surprisingly good! The fried tentacles and oysters were my favorite from that basket. The scallop were meh for me. This was plenty of food for two people! Overall I was satisfied! They had live music and great view of Morro Rock. They have outdoor seating only, so I can imagine winters being cold. They are dog friendly and have dog bowls for water and dog treats!

There was live music so my mom and my son were dancing to it.

This place is great! It has ordering inside but you sit outside on the patio on the dock. The guys who took our order were friendly and efficient. After you order you can go pick a place to sit outside. You have a lovely view of Morro Rock. And I didn't check what days live music is but they started setting up and played while we were there. We loved the live music. We went on a Friday. We ordered 5 piece fish and chips and shrimp and chips. We shared those two orders for all 4 of us and it was perfect. The fish was delicious, flaky, tender and juicy. I love fish with lemon juice and my boys love fish with tartar sauce. The shrimp was huge and we shared that as well, my son wanted to eat it all but got full so we had some. It was also tender and so good. Please come check this place out, they are close to the original Tognozzinis regular restaurant.

Loved this place! This is a small spot to grab a fresh fish plate. It's right next door to Tognazzinni's and closer to the water. I ordered the fish of the day grilled and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Nice fries, too. My mom loved the fried shrimp. You order at the counter and then find a table outside. The service was really fast despite it being nearly full. Lovely view of the water and morro rock.

Lots of shorebirds and pigeons on the patio

The oysters on the half shell were good, but you can get them almost anywhere and with better accompaniments (I love a great mignonette). The clam chowder had very few clams and was extremely creamy. If that's your mojo, then this is your place. The butter and garlic BBQed oysters lacked flavor. The wine and beer choices were limited. There was live music and that is a plus for us. They are very dog friendly and have tie outs for dogs at every table. You order at the counter and they call your name. You buss your own table. It's located right next to the pier. It's not the cleanest, but the location is great.

Always our favorite when in Morro Bay but on this visit the order was off. We ordered two orders of fish n chips and a bowl of clam chowder. Our fish with chewy which is a sign of it being overcooked and the tips were raw. The clam chowder tastes like so much flour was dumped inside the batch. The service was fast and plenty of seating on a Thursday with great views.

I like the outdoor seating with live music. Eating under the warmth of the sun was nice. Lots of seating as well. Food was good, nothing really different from other seafood taco places. Calamari was okay, probably needs more of the sauce. Overall good experience, wait time reasonable. Pet-friendly and kid-friendly. A nice place to eat with the family.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was live music. It's outdoor dining. You order at the counter and pickup when they call your name. I had three different fish tacos. They were amazing!!!! My favorite was the grilled salmon taco. This is a must visit and I was told by a local to eat here.

The signature sea dog. Calamari on a stick.

Nice view of Morro Rock while enjoying the seafood and seagulls. Sitting outdoors enjoying the sun! Lovely!

Great spot to get some food after walking and enjoying the views! Best part is you can see the Morro Rock right in front of you. We came and ordered at the counter. We got the calamari (delicious but servings were small), clam chowder (tasty), and the grilled oysters (so good). Service was quick! Pay card or cash and they call your name by microphone so it's easy to hear. We enjoyed dining here and taking in the view. They have also have live bands! Lots of free public parking. Restrooms just right outside. Would definitely be back!

Was walking on by and stopped to listen to the music. I love the dog area except for the view being blocked. Music by Natural bridge. The server brought my dog some water even though we were on the outskirts. Didn't take pictures of the food. Ordered the seadog (calamari on a stick) special. It was under cooked. It still has raw batter. The clam chowder was just ok. Had to many bay leaves chopped up into it. Shrimp cocktail was in a pico de gallo. The 4jumbo shrimp were good whatever they were brined in. The cup was full of bay shrimp dipped the small bay shrimp in the shrimp cocktail that came with the seadog. Though inside smelled of fish the workers were outside cleaning grills. 5 for service and ambience. 2 for food.

    Do we need reservations?

No, it's super casual, patio dining and ordering food at a counter. First come, first serve. Dress warmly since the patio is on the dock.

Are there long waits during lunch? Is it ok to go without reservations?

It's a very popular place to eat for tourists and locals as well so it does get busy however lines move fast. It is also a very laid back joint so no reservations needed. Highly recommended.

The menu is extensive but I only had one thing in mind and thus I got the CLAM CHOWDER BOWL $6.99 and HALIBUT fish and chips $24.99 plus $2 garlic fries upgrade. Sorry to say this place is as many have said, a tourist trap. The halibut batter lacked seasoning it was practically tasteless. It's freshly fried however. Fries upgrade helped the fries only. The entire basket didn't taste much like anything and the tartar didn't help. The clam chowder was very salty. And I mean, very. It barely had clams in it and didn't taste rich and mostly had big cubes of potato. It was disappointing. The lines can get very long very fast. They have a good spot with greats views or Morro Rock. Parking is free everywhere to my knowledge.

I ordered the Calamity Jane burger, and wow, it was absolutely delicious and HUGE. You will honestly get full after eating just half of it. I also got a side of their potatoes with the spicy garlic sauce for dipping, and it was so good. Definitely a must-order! They also had a great selection of sangrias, which was a nice bonus. The only thing I'd mention is that it can be a little pricey if you're dining solo, so if you're going on a date, be ready for your pockets to take a little dent. Next time I come back, I definitely want to try the shrimp tacos because they sounded amazing. I was torn between those and the burger, but I went with my default order. Overall, delicious food, fast service, and a great spot in Morro Bay. I would definitely come back!

Had to park across the street in the surf shop parking lot for a handicapped space, luckily the traffic wasn't too bad crossing the Embarcadero. Waited quite a while to be seated. Loud concrete floor with metal chairs, could hear the conversation of all the other diners!! Distractions from people walking by on the Embarcadero, but great Rock view. Ordered cheeseburger with potatoes. Salad was "mixed greens" so I didn't order a salad. Next time I will get their wedge salad, but I didn't know if I could finish it with the burger and potatoes this time. Server said no fries or chicken strips becasue they don't have a fryer. Free refills for sodas, but only a little bit of ice. It was a bit syrupy and had a lack of carbonation, might have been Pepsi instead of Coke. Steak knife included with utensils, which came in handy because the burger was really slippery and I had to eat with a knife and fork!! Potatoes looked overcooked but that was because they are purple potatoes!! They tasted ok, luckily not too spicy like everything is these days. I liked the non-purple potato's texture better. Slow to refill my drink. I will come here again and have the wedge salad, from the pic it looks smaller than I expected this time around so it will be able to be eaten with a burger!!
