I have been taking our dogs here for nearly 10 years. Since then, I have 2 kids and one of our dogs passed away and we have adopted another one. Needless to say, they know our dogs well and do a great job with them. As of now, neither of my dogs need much in terms of grooming, but we still come here for their occasional baths and nail trimming. Their rates are extremely reasonable and the service is super friendly. We typically bring our dogs in early in the morning and get them back around noon or 1, so the turnaround time isn't too bad. I've been bringing my Maltipoo and my chihuahua terrier here the past 3-4 times they've gotten groomed. I've always called last minute and the lady always tells me to bring them right in. She is the sweetest! From the moment we walk in, she pets the dogs, hugs them, talks to them. You can tell she loves what she does. When I pick them up, they always look brand new! note: everything mentioned happened around 2 years ago, i don't know if they changed employees since i don't come here anymore. i've taken my dog here at least three times and all three times, despite my dog coming back with a nice haircut, my dog is scared. they ask customers to drop off their dog and come back in about an hour to pick them up. one time, after an hour and i went to go pick up my dog, my dog looked spooked! he looked very sad and depressed. i was really worry they hurt him but there was no signs of physical trauma anywhere. so i thought they were pretty decent since his haircut looked cute. the next time i came here and dropped him off, i waited about an hour but i came to pick him up a bit earlier than expected. i saw my dog in the cage looking terrified of the employee who was cutting another dog's hair. i don't think the employee noticed me watching her as she roughly took my dog out. i can see why my dog looks scared whenever i pick him up from this place now. i am never coming back here again! i must mention that the owner of the place seems like she really likes dogs but the employees are purely in this job just for money and not for love of dogs. the employees treat the dogs roughly and some of them have an attitude when talking to customers. really sad to see people trust their beloved animals with someone who doesn't care about the animal at all. read more

A+++++++ SERVICE!!!!! I brought my parent's dog here for a nail trim and I am extremely happy with the results! I don't understand the negative comments here as it was such a pleasant experience for our dog and I. There was absolutely no trace of blood on her paws. We have a Pom Terrier mix and Terrier's typically squirm when getting their nails trimmed but surprisingly my dog was very calm. I waited inside as they had some cute malti-poo's for sale and nearby me a cute maltese was getting a trim. I observed how the other groomer treated that dog and she was very gentle with him. Further, the dog didn't flinch whilst getting his nails trimmed. This place is in pristine condition! They sell dog accessories and chicken treats made in the U.S.A.! If you go to Pet Smart, read the label. They all say made in China, which is very unhealthy for your dog. The ones from Pet Smart are not FDA approved so I suggest you get chicken treats made in the U.S.A. Glad they had the U.S.A. one's here! Their prices are extremely affordable and the service was top notch! The owner was extremely efficient, professional, friendly, and took great care of our dog. You can tell she's an avid pet lover! Our dog is our family member and I expect our dog to be treated with the utmost care. As a Registered Nurse, I am very cautious about where I go to get her check-ups and where I go to get her groomed. I trust these people! Cheap but not worth the discount. I tried out Doggery because it's $35 for grooming. That's cheap compared to the other places I've been to, but this is one of the times that you shouldn't skimp on the $$ because it shows in quality. I took my dog to Doggery for a haircut, and I gave specific instructions to the lady. None of it was followed. In fact the complete opposite. My dog came out looking like a lion... not in a good way. Also, I dropped my dog off at 1 PM, and they told me it would take 2 hours. Okay. So I called around 3 PM, and they said that my dog was next in line... So... what was he doing for 2 hours? Probably stuck in the cage. They said he'd be done by 4 PM. So I walk in at 4 PM, and I see the groomer with my dog. The lady that's grooming him is definitely not an animal person. Not a hint of a smile or any tenderness. She carries the dogs under her arms, and she just plops them down on the table and there's no care in her approach to the dogs. That is NOT what I want in a groomer. I finally get my dog, and I notice patches of baldness, especially around his leg. *sigh* Also, the lady has the nerve to say that the harness I use is rubbing my dog and giving him a rash. I know for a fact that's not true because I barely use the harness on my dog. I know that it's from the harnesses the GROOMER used to restrain my dog. Saw it with my own two eyes. Their dog snacks are also expired. There's just no way I'm going back to the Doggery. I love my dog, and there's no way I'd subject him to that experience again. If you just want to save money, then sure... go to Doggery, but I hope you don't expect star treatment from them. read more

I love the Doggery! My dogs BOTH have been coming here since they were just wittle babies! Being a fur mom getting your dogs groomed is the most exciting things ever! Every time I go they are always so welcoming and remembers my dogs and so accommodating especially with any weird request I have they always seem to make it work and it's hands down the best grooming place my dog has ever gone to! I can't speak for other reviews how ever my dogs never had an issue here and they always seem to enjoy going to this place. They always make both my babies smell go nice and just look the best! They always get crazy cute compliments every time they get back from this shop! Please give this place a try and if you don't like anything or want something fixed they are more than happy to help you guys! I took my 4 1/2 yr old miniature schnauzer to this place after researching for a nearer location. I usually take my dog to LA to get her groomed but I wanted to see if there were any good options available in Northridge. My dog gets scared easily but never did she refused to come out of a cage when I picked her up after grooming. I was shocked when I saw this. She was clearly horrified and was choking (she usually does this when she's very scared). I immediately knew that she was somehow mistreated. When I got home I had to trim her hair again and her ears weren't cleaned thoroughly. I had to shower her again and I don't know what kind of shampoo they used or if they even used shampoo at all, her coat was sticky and when I first rinsed her the water was murky. I'm not a picky customer and this is actually my very first review on Yelp. I gave this place a benefit of doubt although some of the reviews concerned me. If you have a sensitive dog, think again before visiting this place. I rather drive 20 more miles and pay $10 more than having my baby tremble with fear with bloodshot eyes. read more

I brought my little doggy here a couple of times and after the last time I brought here here it will definitely be the LAST! I am not writing out of anger because this happened about 2 months ago. My little doggy: White maltipoo. Hair like a bishon. Weighs 10 lbs. Fur was no longer than an inch and a 1/2. Short rundown: Brought her in and they said she will be done in 2 hours. I called 2 hours later and they said it would be ANOTHER 2 hours!!! I called AGAIN 2 hours later and they said it would be ANOTHER 1/2 hour!! I went in a 1/2 hour later and they were still "working on her" but she was locked in a cage!! When I got in there my dog heard me and naturally got excited. And the older lady had the audacity to grab my dog from the cage in a abrupt manner and then practically threw my little dog on the table and was mumbling not so nice things (ex: stupid dog). When I witnessed that I demanded to have my dog immediately! Definitely won't be back! My cousin has my dogs sister and she didn't have a great experience either. Nor did my other cousin who has a maltese who is tinier than my baby! read more

I've taken my dog here on several occasions to be groomed, and I have always had a good experience (and apparently so has my dog!) I have had trouble finding other grooming places to cut my dog's hair short in a puppy cut, but this place always gets it right once I describe it to them. My dog is usually terrified of going to the groomer, but here he doesn't fuss at all. I feel bad using such a description as I don't know her name, but the Asian lady who I always see there is very sweet to my dog and he seems to like her. The price is around what I have been charged at most other places, $35 for an 18 lb Corgi/Pomeranian (i.e. FLUFFY haired) mix with a puppy cut. My only minor gripe is that they never seem to keep the note card with all my and my dog's info on it for their files, so I always have to fill out the sign up sheet with my name, dog's name and number. I think they are supposed to keep this info on file, along with a description of what recurring service I get. read more

When my local groomer (PETROCK Hotel & Spa) is super busy, I take the drive up north to THE DOGGERY. Hate the drive.. I always feel like I'll get THE call to pick them up by the time I get home. Nonetheless, they take excellent care of my furry babies, especially my little Peanut. I love that every time they see her, they'll yell out "PEANUT!" even when we're only in the area to eat pizza or Sweet Snow. Before taking her in, they'll take down the details of how I want her hair to look -- a big $PLUS% in my book since a lot of groomers get too scissor happy! THE DOGGERY does an amazing job with her bath, haircut, ears.. and the wholeshabang! Best place to groom your dog!!! I live closer to Woodland Hills and drive to northridge just for this place! The owner is this Korean lady with her daughter- they have a love for dogs and don't just do it for the money. They make sure to treat the dogs well and not put a muzzle on them at all times. Best customer service and the best hands to put your babies in. She also recommends places for people to go for cheaper vet prices, applies any medication you may need help with and has flea medicine and applies it as well!!! I honestly love going here! One of my dogs was previously abused and is very skiddish with people touching his paws.. He lets her do whatever she wants! Honestly, she gets away with more than I do! He loves her! And it's so hard to find grooming places that understand that some dogs aren't mean or bad, but are just scared. He leaves this place so happy and clean as well as my other dog! Only recommend that you ask that the older white woman NOT groom or cut or anything your dog! This would be the only reason they get 4 stars! Please tip this place well!! FYI- Today 3/14/18 at around 2:45ish, my sister and I were walking to the car from Pizza Rev, a couple doors from The Doggerie, and witnessed a dog run out of this groomer. The dog was a reddish brown, medium in size. Not sure of the breed, possibly cocker spaniel/poodle/shitzu mix? She had a purple bow on each ear. Running behind the dog was an employee of the establishment, trying to catch the dog. My sister attempted to help catch the dog as it ran into the parking lot. The employee caught the dog after a few scary quick turns and quickly went back inside the establishment. Don't know if this was the owner's dog or a client's dog, but if this was my dog that ran out of the groomer, into a very busy parking lot, I would want to know. I love this place. Its decent pricing and the owner and her daughter really love your dogs here. They always get special treats and love, and when our dog/son pisses all over the floor they dont get mad, and just say its normal. Sure. Not normal in my house but they are super nice about it, and never make you feel guilty. Its cheap but my dog, and our newly adopted baby come out looking super handsome and smell super fresh. Now- lets talk about what to avoid. AVOID THE WHITE LADY. Dont let her touch your dog, dont let her look at the dog, dont let her smell your dog, get a restraining order so she cannot come in 50 yards of your dog. That lady is mean, and doesnt seem to like animals. When I go in there, I make sure its only the ASIANS that come in contact with our sons. Love this place. On my first visit, the Asian lady told me my dog was fat and to walk him more. (turns out he had a thyroid issue. he has lot a third of his weight already). but I digress, They have groomed our dogs 4 or 5 times. We have gotten three perfect hair cut trips from them and one or two not perfect. As far as dog grooming goes, that is a very good ratio. The price is right. Ms. Kim takes great care of my two pups. One is a shih tzu and the other is a Pom mix. Hair cuts are always neat and clean cut. She does a great job with trimming their nails and cleaning their teeth. If you have any special request make sure to let her know. For example, if you want a certain cut or leaving the body hair a little long. My pups always come back looking like a million bucks with cute lil bows on their heads! Just picked up my baby Bella from here and she's so clean and smells so fresh! It was our first time at a groomers and I was very nervous. I didn't know if they were going to treat her well. But when I walked in susan was so sweet to Bella. After I picked her up I asked Susan a ton of questions and she answered them all. Not worth it unless your willing to pay for a service your dog was not given. They won't give you the cut you ask for. Took my dog here as well as my sisters two dogs. All three for a bath and cut. When I picked them up I was out the door because they have two cats roaming the room and I'm allergic. Upon getting home I noticed they hardly touched my dog. The other two dogs came with bows and noticeably trimmed. My dog looked exactly the same. No hair bows and the same cut she had when she came. I noticed they trimmed her face quickly. Not what I'd call a dog cut. It looked like they just washed her and called it a cut. I called to ask and was assured they did cut her hair. They offered to "recut" her hair ONLY after my sister called again when she noticed I was upset being ripped off. I'll make the long drive to her regular groomer. I was referred to this place by my cousin who's been a customer for year's. This place is AWESOME!! I've now been a customer for a year and they do a great job on my Minature Schnauzer (Maximus). He always walks out of this place so fresh and so clean, looking like a handsome little prince. His hair cut is always nice and even, sometimes he gets a little mohawk. I was with my grandmother walking out of a AAA we heard a dog yelping and screaming bloody murder!,so we decided to stop walking and try to see if we could view where the yelping was coming from we stopped and saw a groomer call the doggery so we look and see the dog standing on the table along with a lady aggressively blow drying the poor little dog in the eyes he/she didn't like it so he/she was moving the lady was getting very angry and impatient and she didn't like that the dog wasn't cooperating so she decides to whip him on the top of the head with the hose The dog was crying and screaming much louder than before and It was trying to do everything It could to make the lady stop but yet she still hit him if you had a white Shih Tzu at the doggery around 1230 on 8/6/19 then this was your dog he was being abused....... do not ever take your pets there they are horribly abused and traumatized!! read more

I feel compelled to write this review after a friend i reccomend to go there has been also having issues with her dog. Over 5 years I've been going there small things like a eye injury small burn mark from hot clippers but my dogs a handful and all his anxieties came back distressed the last time he got fleas i thought mange since he was balding took him to the vet fleas he just left there and now my friends dog had the same exact thing a month ago!!! After reading these reviews its sad!! Jane is awesome (the owner) GET IT TOGETHER ALREADY FIRE THESE PEOPLE WAKE UP ANIMALS ARE HURTING!! Not to mention the liability factor and people miss they way it once was for many many years. I mean don't you read??? Another 2 customers gone. I've been coming here for 6years ! I recently took both of my dogs, a pom and a yorkie, to get a summer hair cut with teddy bear face. When we got home and checked out their new haircut we were upset to see that they did not do a good job. Long hairs were left all over the body, these hairs are sticking out so they are noticeable. The hair on the face was cut poorly. One side of one ear is longer than the other. Hair on bottom of chin area was not even cut off. Belly hair was left untrimmed. Hair on body was cut very unevenly. My pom was also cut near his ear as a scab is starting to form. When I called to let them know that they did a horrible job, the lady was very defensive and said she did not know and cannot do anything. I told her I've been a customer for years, if she could just add a discount for next time since this was our go to place and she started yelling. I asked her if they got a new groomer who may have not known how to cut the hair , she was just plain rude and unhelpful. Because of this they have lost my business and I will never come back again. Definitely do not recommend this place at all. If you care for your fur babies take them elsewhere. read more

I am sooooooo unhappy with this place. After reading reviews here, I decided to try them out. The owner was very nice and sweet with my dog when I drop her off. She told me to come back in 1 1/2 hrs. I went back about 2 1/2 hrs later to find my dog on a grooming table being mistreated by some crotchy old mean woman. She had my 14yo dog, with sever arthritis, held in the air by her neck and shaking her hard! I was horrified. When I yelled at her, she just walked away. The owner finished her up quickly and sent me on my way. It is also one of the worse haircuts I have ever seen on a pomeranian...all choppy and uneven. If you love your dog, save them from this abuse and don't go there!! read more

This review is for the products only not grooming. They have really cute stuff here for your pets. Lots of cute clothes, but not a lot of options in sizes. they have leashes, cat/dog supplies, beds, bandanas, treats and lots more. Store is pretty small. They don't have prices on most of there items I noticed. The ones that did were pretty well priced. When I came in, both women were working in the back on some dogs so they did ask from the back room if i needed help, but nobody came out. A little frustrated because I wanted to know the prices of some items. They had a kitty there. so cute, I think its there pet. Just chills in the window. Located in a plaza. Parking can be a pain, especially since its next to a drive-thru Starbucks. read more

i don't take my dog to the groomers cuz she's a min pin and doesn't need to be groomed. just a quick bath at home. but her nails tend to get EXTRA long! so long that it curves to the side. but she hates getting it done so we don't go too often. it was getting too long and we have wood floors so the clickity clack of her nails as she walks was just irritating me! my mom had brought her to this place once and was satisfied so i decided to make a visit myself. the front half of the cute little shop is where you can buy little accessories for your dog. there was also 3 cute little maltese puppies in the window but i didn't know if they were for sale. the back half was the grooming area. the facility was clean and didn't have any smell to it at all. i walked in with no appointment and the lady stopped grooming the dog on the table and immediately took my dog back to clip her nails. usually my dog flinches and goes all crazy, but she wasn't acting up this time! i love my dog and i'm the one usually washing and grooming her, but i've been getting too busy lately to do it myself. so i started looking into finding a groomer with decent rates where i could take Mimi regularly to keep her coat shining and smelling good. i stopped by Petco to get an idea of how much they charge, and they asked for all of my dog's paperwork. i know she's had all her vaccinations, but since she's a secondhand dog from another family, i wouldn't even know where to look for the papers. so the only other option would be to get her vaccinated again (for $70 at their clinic) and pay ~$35 per grooming plus more for different treatments like medicated baths (my dog has allergies). so i was looking at $100+ for Mimi's first grooming session there. since The Doggery is a lot closer than Petco and i'd passed by it all the time, i decided to stop by and get some information. long story short, the total came to only $35 AND they gave me a discount for the next several groomings/baths to treat Mimi's allergies too! the ladies who run this place are very sweet and very knowledgeable about what they do. and did i mention they LOVE dogs? read more
