I'm incredibly picky about where I take my dog because he truly is my child, and he is not the friendliest when it comes to people. But Nova? He opened up immediately to the girls at Tender Touch. This is a dog who used to refuse to even hop out of the car, and today he jumped right out, tail wagging. That says everything. He always comes back spotless, soft, and so well cared for. The only reason I'm giving five stars instead of ten is because they do crate the dogs, which I understand is necessary for a smaller space and for everyone's safety, and they are slightly more expensive than my previous groomer. Wow. Steer clear. I've been taking our dogs to Tender Touch for the better part of the decade. Today was a very unpleasant experience. Apparently (according to the strident single groomer on duty this morning) there is no manager. They underwent an operational change in July of last year --- and all the groomers are independent. When I arrived for an 8AM appointment (even though the business is supposed to be closed on Monday), the groomer said that she didn't think I was coming as I responded "No" to the text. I told her I did no such thing and asked to see the text. She had texted another client. And had pulled that clients folder for my pet. She then took the dog and told me that she'd call when he was done. Fortunately, I saw that she had the wrong file. I told her and she said "she'd find mine." I said that I'd stay until she did that. She then proceeded to weed through plastic storage boxes of index cards. I remarked that I was surprised they didn't have their system computerized. She responded (unironically) that computers make mistakes. Five minutes later with no success, I asked for the dog back and asked to speak to the manager. That's when she said "We don't have a manager." Sorry to see a decent business no mis (or un-) managed. And abrasive behavior to longtime customers. I would keep my pets away from a service this disorganized, unfriendly, and unapologetic. read more

I've been bringing my dogs to Tender Touch Grooming for over 12 years, and I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets. When I first adopted my dogs, I tried a few other places, but once a friend recommended Tender Touch, I never looked back! My sweet Lola went there for most of her life because she always felt comfortable with the groomers. Anywhere else I tried when she was a puppy, she would come out anxious and unsettled, but never at Tender Touch. They cared for her so gently, and in her final months, their kindness and compassion meant the world to me. I'll always be grateful for that. Now I continue bringing my puppy Leyla every three weeks, and she always leaves looking gorgeous and feeling fabulous! Very sad to see that the owner Hazel commented on my experience because following the review she called me to let me know that she was very sorry about the horrible experience and even offered to fix the grooming Carrie did. I have evidence of the call which I recorded in case something like this happened. She never asked me to remove the review and even said that she's had multiple complaints about Carrie. She said Carrie was not her groomer but she had to offer her a spot in the shop because of financial issues. I really trusted and believed hazel when she said she was sorry and regretted that this happened to Dodger. She said she's had to have conversations with Carrie about her behavior. It's sad to see how disingenuous she is because she said one thing to me over the phone and then responded lies to my review. I know how my dog is and understand that he has to be muzzled but she told me over the phone that they knew how to work with dogs like that and didn't have issues with him before. I wouldn't trust this place with your pets especially after how deceitful the owner is being. read more

A Groomer with a Heart of Gold - Thank You, Hazel Writing this review has taken me a long time, not because Hazel didn't deserve immediate praise--but because life took a heartbreaking turn. Still, I knew I needed to share how deeply grateful I am for her kindness. I was so fortunate to connect with Hazel when I needed a groomer for my beloved 16-year-old Maltipoo--my sweet, gentle baby boy. At that point in his life, he was very old and fragile, and I was terrified to take him anywhere. When I spoke to Hazel, she was so warm, loving, and professional. She immediately put my heart at ease and suggested we do a gentle meet-and-greet so she could assess him and ensure he'd be comfortable and safe. That level of care meant the world to me. Unfortunately... we never made it to that appointment. My sweet boy passed in my arms before we had the chance to give him that final fresh cut. I was shattered. When I called to let Hazel know we wouldn't be coming in, she was nothing but love, grace, and compassion. She didn't just sound like a groomer--she felt like an angel in disguise. Even though we never officially worked together, I will never forget her warmth during one of the most painful times in my life. I've only taken my dog here twice- and there will not be a 3rd. If you love your pet as one of your own beware... A groomers that goes by tender touch let me tell you there was no delicacy in the handling of our poor dog. Not only were we dissatisfied with the cut given but the groomer was very harsh on our girl. Red irritated skin from shaving her neck (too low) & most importantly her belly was left so red & scratched up you can see the clipper nails being dragged across her skin. There was no need to shave the belly for the cut we were going for. We showed the groomer the style we wanted but ultimately didn't get it. Our once fluffy dog was left with a shaved head that did not match the hair length for the rest of her body & her once long tail was left shaved with no shape. Ears and body were left long & overall appearance looked horrible. Groomer had the audacity to blame our dog for not having the proper "training " and also stated that our dog was matted (we comb her everyday- so after this was indicated to us we knew there was no accountability being taken on just poor skill) & up-charged an extra $20 without prior notice. This was not her first time at the groomers btw. This was a case of an impatient groomer, who shared there was two cancellation prior and we were her last client of the day, with no "tender touch" in the handling of our dog. They didn't even bother to disclose all the big scratches on her, we discovered it once we were home and she appeared bleeding. Please do not learn the hard way, do not take your dog here. No accountability, just one too many excuses. read more

I have brought my senior dog here about three times and I was happy with the service provided by Hazel; however, this last time was very upsetting and unprofessional. I have a 16-year-old blind Shitzu who requires delicate care and gentle handling, which Hazel assured me she could manage. My dog was never a problem until this last time when I brought her in. I mentioned to them that my dog had a growth on her leg, with a scab and to be careful when working in that area. I was assured that it was not a problem and they would watch out for that. I received a call within minutes of them starting the grooming on my dog and was informed that my dog was half shaved, crying and screaming uncontrollably and they were unable to "hold her down" to finish the process. I was instructed to come pick her up and never bring her back again!! When I arrived, I was told she was matted and that is the reason for the shaving. I was never called to ask if I would agree to that, which I would not have and I would have gladly come back to pick up my dog if that was the only option. I did not want her shaved!! I was handed my partially shaved dog back along with the phone number to a veterinarian. When I asked why I was being given the number to a vet, I was told that they refer clients there for grooming, which was untrue because I called the vet and was told they do not do any grooming and they could only do a complete shave down. When I returned home, I realized that portions of my dog's hair were hanging off and one of those pieces of hair had the scab from the growth on it. It appeared that the scab had been shaved off in the process and there was visible bleeding. The reason my dog was crying and screaming was because they cut her, she was scared and in pain. Do not take you senior dog to this place EVER!!! They were negligent and handled this situation horribly. I would never recommend this place for grooming. read more

My pugs are always excited to visit, they get a good wash and spa day and a seasonal bandana to go. Even though I have a regular appointment they send a polite reminder text. I have taken my last 3 dogs to Tender Touch. They have been so good to all of my babies over the years. Now my Shih tzu mix, Louie is groomed by Carly every 6 weeks. Louie seems to genuinely enjoy seeing Carly, and the owner Hazel more and more every time he goes! I never worry when leaving my little Louie with them. He is beautifully groomed every time. Drop offs and pick-ups are easy. The shop is cute and clean. It's in a nice area too! What stands out to me is that the heart they put into their work, and the genuine regard and respect they seem to have for the dogs. They strike me as hard working and ethical. I wouldn't leave my dog with just anyone. Dog grooming is not an easy or high-paying job, and yet these groomers seem to have a true appreciation for the business and the babies. Bring your tip in cash, and treat them right. They provide a quality experience and I think the prices are fair enough considering the time they take, and the expense of rent, utilities, and running a business. They did collect proof of vaccination and a deposit the first time which was applied to the fee, which is totally understandable in my opinion. Thank you Hazel for running a quality business! I do not work for the groomers, but I know for a fact this review is BS. I own the bakery next door, we share a parking lot. With that being said the lady who posted this review was parked on the bakery side. I backed in behind her because I had to grab a delivery and go. It was almost 8am so I didn't want to block the groomers from their spot. When I went to go back to my car my cashiers were being yelled at by this woman who was claiming I almost hit her car and I am blocking her in on purpose. She then threatened to slash my tires. I told her I just ran in to grab my delivery and go. I was not purposely blocking her in. I was in the bakery less than 5 minutes. On my way to delivery I saw two groomers and I told them what happened. So if they had attitude with this client is it ONLY because she threatened to slash tires and because she was yelling at my cashiers for nothing at all. On the note of covid, that is insane! They don't allow people to walk in at all and they wear their masks while inside, and they are constantly washing their hands. I mean they are washing your pets a majority of the time. I wholly regret bringing my sweet boy here this past weekend. I got there two minutes prior to my 8am appointment, and when I got to the door an employee quickly locked the door. I thought that was very rude, and I just took my dog and walked him to the tree in front of the place. A male employee came out and apologized and he let me in. My dog was gone for 2 hours which was very decent time and I was happy with that. But after he came back, he has not been the same. He is a very hyper, playful, and friendly dog. The day he got back he slept the entire day. He did not eat and barely drank water. When he went to poop, he had a little bit of blood on his anus. They had cut him there while they were trimming him On Sunday he started itching, I flipped him over and saw his belly had a bunch of clipper burns. I will attach a picture. It it now Wednesday, and they are scabbed over. Monday morning he was in terrible shape. He would not get out of bed. He is the type of dog that jumps out of bed and runs up to anyone that walks into the house. He stayed in the same spot for 6 hours. He would not even eat his treats. He didn't want to play with anyone on Monday. He just kept going to be alone in his crate. Tuesday morning, I took him out to so his business and he had an insane amount of diarrhea and kept vomiting. It finally resided and he drank water, but still wouldn't eat his treats. I came home from work yesterday, to find that he had explosive diarrhea in his crate and had vomited in there as well. The diarrhea was truly explosive. It had sprayed on the wall behind the crate. I don't know what they did to my dog at this place, but I am appalled and now have to take him to the vet to see what is happening to his health. He had diarrhea again today, but he is slowly starting to be himself again. read more
