Janet at Pooch Buddies was AWESOME!

Thank you Janet!!! We had a last minute cancellation of the person that was going to take care of our dogs while we were away on vacation. 2 days before our trip we had to scramble and find a place to leave our 2 dogs and Janet came to the rescue. We found her on YELP! and after reading all the great reviews we called her and thank goodness she was able to take our dogs! Everyday she would send me updates and photos of our 2 dogs! Our dogs had a great time under her care. I feel like they were at "Camp" having a great time while we were away. When we came home they were both happy dogs! I will be leaving our dogs with her whenever we go away!

Loved all the comments people wrote on Pooch Buddies, so my husband and I decided to call and set up an appt with Janet for our mini - schnauzer, Sir Winston, to have an overnight visit. Sir Winston loved being there. Joe and I were going to Virginia for Christmas to visit family and it would be about 16 days. Janet was very accommodating to our dates and Sir Winston. Everyday Janet would send us video or pictures of Sir Winston playing with all the other sweet doggies. Picking up Sir Winston was as simple as dropping him off. Loved Janet and her sister Susan. They made my husband and myself feel at ease when having to leaving Sir Winston for that long period of time. Sir Winston had so much fun, he even lost weight. Would highly recommend Pooch Buddies to anyone when having to decide where to take your precious one for an overnight or extended stay.

We've always been lucky enough to have a friend look after our two dogs. This time we were out of luck and so it was going to be our first experience with a pet sitter. Maybe you are like me and you're thinking,"I don't know about having a stranger come into my house..." Janet met me and the dogs and totally put my mind at ease from the start. Kelli took great care of our dogs and sent us text updates each time. They really went the extra mile to assure us our pets were well cared for. The whole experience was superb. I would have no reservations about recommending pooch buddies to friends and family.

Ask the Community - Pooch Buddies

Hello. What is the earliest drop off time for daycare? I work at 7:30am off Balboa and Plummer.

Hi. Regular daycare drop-off is 8-10a. ($60) There is an earlier drop-off option(as early as 7a by appointment) with a surcharge for extended day ($75). Please call for a more in-depth conversation so we can see if we can be a good fit for you!

Hello, I will be traveling for 7 days and would need to have a place for my 4 month old Australian Heeler, is this somenthing you can accommodate?

We didn't see your question. We do a temperament test on all dogs. If they do well then they are welcome to board.

What is the latest we would be able to pick up for daycare? I have not have a lot of luck finding my needs, as I do not wish to board my dog but wouldn't be able to pick up til 9-10pm.

Daycare pickup is by 6p. Occasionally we can accomodate later pickup to 7p with a surcharge but not on a regular basis. Later pickups aren't possible but boarding is.

Hi. I'm considering adopting a smallish dog - likely a terrier of some sort. I will need a place to drop off the dog daily like child care while I am at work weekdays for about two months. Do you offer such a service?

So sorry for the very delayed response -- I didn't see this question at all! You've likely found a great solution by now, but the answer is yes. We love having dogs come and play while their owners work all day. If you still need help, please…

Hi! I have a 10 week old labrodoodle puppy! Do you have an age restriction for boarding? Thanks!

Hi Christina! For boarding, your puppy has to have three sets of shots. The third set is usually around 16 weeks. In certain cases, when we have room to isolate your dog, with your veterinarian's permission, we may be able to accept your pup…

If you're looking for a place where your dog will be loved like family, look no further than Dog…read moresitting by Ally I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ally and the care she gives to every dog. From the moment I met her, I could tell this wasn't just a business--it is truly her passion. She has such a kind heart, an incredible work ethic, and a genuine love for animals that you can feel immediately. My standard poodle, Chewy, goes to daycare with Ally , and when we went to Hawaii for nine days, I never once worried about him. Instead of being kept in kennels, the dogs get to live together in a comfortable home environment. They can relax on dog beds, sleep on furniture, play together, and simply be dogs. It's such a refreshing and loving alternative to traditional boarding. One thing that meant the world to me was how often Ally kept me updated. Every morning and every evening she sent me photos and updates of Chewy having fun, relaxing, and making friends. Seeing those pictures while I was away gave me complete peace of mind and allowed me to truly enjoy my vacation, knowing he was happy, safe, and loved. I also love seeing how much thought she puts into making the dogs' days special. During the hot weather, she even sets up fun water play for them, and it's obvious from every picture that the dogs are having the time of their lives. Although I've only known Ally for a short time, I genuinely admire her. She is young, hardworking, compassionate, and has built something truly special. It's rare to find someone who cares this deeply about every dog in her care. Chewy absolutely loves going there, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to leave him with Allie again. I recommend Ally's Boarding & Daycare wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a safe, loving, and happy place for their dog. Your pup will be treated like family, and that's something you simply can't put a price on. Thank you, Ally for taking such incredible care of Chewy. We are so grateful to have found you!

I guess it's time for another update because somehow every year I become even more grateful for…read moreAlly and Travis. Lately, I've seen so many heartbreaking stories about doggy daycares: dogs getting hurt, neglected, escaping, or simply not being treated with the love they deserve. Every time I read one, my first thought is the same: thank God Nova has Ally and Travis. Nova has been coming here since he was just 6 months old. He's now about to turn 5, which means they've been part of nearly his entire life. They've watched him grow from a timid, reactive puppy into the confident, happy dog he is today. They know his quirks, his routines, what makes him nervous, what makes him excited, and they have loved every version of him along the way. As dog owners, we all know there are very few people we'd trust with our entire heart. That's what our dogs are. They're not just pets, they're family. And somehow Ally and Travis have earned a level of trust that I didn't even know was possible. I've left Nova with them for the longest periods I've ever left him with anyone, and I've never once laid awake wondering if he was okay. There has never been a moment where I questioned whether he was safe, loved, exercised, or cared for. That kind of peace is priceless, and if you're a dog parent, you know exactly what I mean. What means the most to me is that Nova makes the choice himself every single time. The second he realizes where we're going, he's beside himself with excitement. If he doesn't get to see Ally or Travis, he cries. When he does, he runs to them without looking back. As someone whose dog was once fearful of people, seeing him love someone that deeply tells me everything I need to know. Dogs don't fake trust. They don't pretend to feel safe. They either do, or they don't. Nova has never questioned whether Ally and Travis are his people. Over the years, they've been there through my work schedule, my vacations, family emergencies, and every moment in between. They have given me something I can never truly repay: the ability to go through life knowing that the biggest piece of my heart is safe. That feeling is something every dog parent hopes to find, and so few actually do. Even if life takes me somewhere else one day, if I'm ever back in town and need someone to watch Nova, there is no question where he's going. I would drive hours just to leave him with Ally and Travis because trust like this isn't replaceable. They're not just our daycare: they're part of Nova's family. If you're scrolling through reviews wondering whether this is the right place for your dog, I hope this helps. Five years later, after hundreds of drop-offs and pickups, I can say with complete confidence that choosing Ally and Travis was one of the best decisions I've ever made for Nova. They have loved him like he was their own, and I will spend the rest of his life being grateful for that.

Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine love for animals make her an absolute gem. From the moment we met her, it was clear she's passionate about what she does, and our pups, Harley, Rita, and Meeka, couldn't be happier. Jill of Fur-Priority is incredibly reliable, always showing up on time and keeping us updated with adorable photos and detailed notes about Harley, Rita, and Meeka's walks. She takes them to some of the best spots in the Valley, like the Sepulveda Basin Off-Leash Dog Park, where they get to socialize and burn off energy. She's attentive to their needs, whether it's a brisk hour-long walk to tire them out or a slower stroll when they're feeling more relaxed. Her ability to read and adapt to their moods is remarkable. Beyond her exceptional dog walking services, Jill of Fur-Priority also offers drop-in visits for our dogs and cats while we're at work or on vacation. These visits are a game-changer! She ensures our pets are fed, have fresh water, and get plenty of love and attention. Whether it's playing with the dogs or giving our cats some extra cuddles, Jill goes above and beyond to keep them happy and comfortable. Her detailed updates during these visits give us complete peace of mind, knowing our furry family members are in great hands. Jill of Fur-Priority also provides full pet grooming services, including washing, clipping nails, and flea baths, which she can seamlessly integrate before, during, or after the dog walking service. This is such a convenient and wonderful addition! Our dogs come back not only happy and exercised but also sparkling clean, with neatly trimmed nails and fresh-smelling coats. Her gentle approach during grooming ensures even our more sensitive pup, Meeka, feels comfortable and relaxed. The flea baths have been a lifesaver, keeping our pets protected and itch-free. What sets Jill of Fur-Priority apart is her thoughtful approach--she's not just walking, sitting, or grooming pets; she's building trust and creating a fun, safe, and pampered experience for them. Harley, Rita, and Meeka come back from their walks and grooming sessions exhausted, happy, and wagging their tails like crazy, and they're always content after her drop-in visits. Jill even takes the time to clean their paws after muddy park visits, which is such a nice touch! Communication with Jill of Fur-Priority is a breeze. She's responsive, flexible with scheduling, and always checks in to make sure Harley, Rita, and Meeka's specific needs (like their occasional leash reactivity) are met. It's clear she has a wealth of experience with animals of all temperaments, and her calm, confident demeanor puts both us and our pets at ease. If you're in the San Fernando Valley and looking for a dog walker, pet sitter, or groomer who goes above and beyond, Jill of Fur-Priority is your person. The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.
