I called to inquire about boarding my dogs for a few days. While I appreciate the information provided, I was taken aback by the dismissive and rude tone of the employee I spoke with. She asked if I was leaving town incase my dogs needed me I said no. She proceeded to make a comment saying she doesn't understand why I need to leave my dogs if I am not leaving town, which I found to be unprofessional and frankly, none of her business. Her attitude made me feel judged and unwelcome. Additionally, when I mentioned that one of my dogs has a history of experiencing a seizure (though she doesn't currently require medication), the employee seemed surprised, which left me feeling concerned about their ability to handle pets with medical needs. They seem to welcome young healthy pets, as your pets start getting older do re-consider leaving them here, 8 years old seems to be too old. While I can't comment on the actual boarding facility, this initial interaction has deterred me from considering this place for my pets. I tried calling back 5 times to get her name did not get an answer, straight to voicemail. Call was from Weds Oct. 1st. 11am. read more

What a lovely facility and lovely people who Work there! On Thursday, May 8th I called in a panic needing a place to board the rescue dog I'm helping to foster for a rescue, after the rescue declined to be helpful. We needed a place to board our sweet boy immediately. From the initial phone call all the way through yesterday, when a new foster was found, the staff was amazing, kind, and accommodating. The kennels really are hidden away, and the facility is beautiful. There are nice playyards, and the kennels are large and clean. Our boy was well cared for and happy, and they allowed us to visit him often to boot (which helped us more than him I think). 100 percent recommend. read more

Here is our dogs review: Please note, our dogs have excellent memory. At "other" local kennels they refuse to get out of the car. When we have picked them up they run straight to the car and give me the silent treatment for a couple hours. I heard about Hideaway years ago from other Westside German Shepherd Rescue volunteers and we've been going there ever since. They are always so glad to see our dogs, and we know they're being looked after carefully. They are up on the dogs' vaccination records, which I appreciate, so I know my dogs are safe from getting anything when they are there. We always request baths on pick-up day, so they come home clean and soft and happy. They act so happy, like they were away at camp, and it's a camp-like setting so we call them Camp Hideaway! read more

This was our first time needing to use a Kennel for a doggo so we were really new to the experience. Hideaway was great and super easy to use. We live in Burbank so it's a good 30 mins away for us vs. some places closer, but Hideaway was recommended to us by a few people and their prices are GREAT! We were planning to be out of town for 2 weeks which could have been in the thousands at some of the places but was only in the hundreds. Additionally Hideaway was super easy. I was able to call last minute on a Friday and drop her off the next day. No trial / tour / let us see if your dog is ok here thing. As long as the vaccines were all up to date which I was able to email over. They don't mingle the pups like some places. (Pro / cons your preference) and the staff was super knowledgeable and had a very easy way of interacting with the animals. I was very worried as Stella can be reactive but they reassured me and were able to handle any issues. You bring your doggos favorite toys, bed Etc and they include feeding their house brand food in the daily stay rate (awesome! One less thing to worry about) Upon pickup we chose to have them bath her too. She came out clean, super soft coat and they had helped clear up a couple of skin issues she was having when we dropped her off. they also had great things to say about her as well. I really love that you think this place is going to be in a warehouse district but you make a couple turns on a small road and it opens to this little sanctuary with cottages, fenced in yards and wildlife. It's a little piece of peace and very inviting. This wasn't an issue for me, but they only take cash or check only. So be prepared to pay upon pickup. I could see how somebody who may need to use a credit card might have an issue, but they are very old school here and this is some of the ways they are able to maintain the affordable prices. I don't think most people board for 2+ weeks like we needed to, but it worked out great. I will definitely use them again. Even if it's only for the weekend. One less thing to worry about! read more

My dog and I love Hideaway Kennels! I was super nervous to leave my pup when going on vacation but the moment I met Kerri and Amy they put my troubles to rest. You can tell they both love dogs and what they do. The space itself is very secure and grassy so your pup gets some good play time in the grass. My guy stayed for almost a week and left with his tail wagging, exhausted from playing. He also got groomed there and left a very clean, fluffy and happy boy. I can't recommend these ladies enough. I was put in an impossible situation with a foster dog (Gouda) I was abandoned with by Delaney's Dog Rescue. When my own dog got diagnosed with terminal bone cancer, I immediately needed to find a place for Gouda to stay while I searched for a new foster home for him. if you are in need of boarding your pet look no further than hideaway kennels!!! we were in search of a new kennel as my sister was getting married and all of our family and friends were not going to be able to watch him while we were gone. our go-to boarding place had unfortunately folded due to COVID so we had to find somewhere new. jacob is a 12 year old ball of love but he doesn't get along with all other dogs - he's a jindo and their temperaments can be a wild card. he's quite special so we needed to find a special place. thankfully we came across hideaway kennels! at first they let us do a tour of the facilities to ensure this is where we want to board jacob. everything was kept very clean, all the dogs are carefully taken care of based on their needs and they all seem to really care about animals. when i visited there was a dog there on a 'trial' night so if you are iffy that is always an option. the dogs are kept separately but can interact through fencing and with the workers during play time (see pictures below that were sent to me of jacob at playtime!) lastly, the staff is literally the nicest ever. during covid times, we had cancelled our reservations multiple times due to changes and they were more than understanding. when i picked jacob up they mentioned all his fun quirks and their individual experiences with him - made my heart melt! they also took him a bath and he was the cleanest he had ever been. thank you, keri and team for taking care of our sweet boy so we didn't have to worry about him during the festivities! read more

I brought my big puppy "Alice" to stay for the weekend. We came all the way from the Antelope Valley. I kept telling her "You're gonna have a blast at Camp Hideaway!" When we got there, we were welcomed with open arms by all the staff including Keri. She was whisked away to her room & after checking her in, I was able to go see where she would be staying. Very very nice indoor runs that are huge! When I returned to pick her up, I recieved a very good report of how she did, how she ate, how she acted etc & she smelled SOOO good from her bath!!! I HIGHLY recommend taking all your "furry" family members here. They treat them as they're own & I could tell she was treated exceptional. horrible - I went here with my anxious dog, who I warned was nervous and loud but meant no harm. to ease his nerves I went with my dog inside the kennel for a bit and let me just say, cold, wet, and dark. my dog was slipping on the ground barely able to stay up. on top of that immediately when I showed them my dog their demeaners changed. they looked scared of him and like they wanted any excuse to get him out. because he was yelling and clawing at the gate for his first 10 minutes in a new environmen. like MY GOD he was scared in this random environment where construction super loud was happening and all the dogs were barking and some yelling. NEVER bring your babies here if you love them because they have prejudice against breeds like my Doberman and the enironment was unsanitary, dirty, and sad. read more

We took our almost 1 year old kitten for a stay because we were heading out of town for 2 1/2 weeks and it was too long to leave him alone at our house. I was hesitant because he is our baby and would anyone love him as much as we do?? Boy was I pleasantly surprised....they sent me almost daily pictures and updates to let us know how he was doing an all the love he was getting from all of the staff. It was also his birthday while we were gone and they decorated his kennel with a birthday banner, fed him the special treat I left and gave him lots of cuddles for us all. When my sister picked him up since we got home after they closed and couldn't stand to be another day away from him they told my sister how wonderful he was and how they wanted to keep him.
