It's been 4-5 years now. I check every year to see if I can board my golden retriever at this ranch. They always give me excuses, tell me to check back and refer me to another place.....that other place they referred me to cost me an $800 vet visit this past year. Horrible, horrible recommendation! Long story short, I've messaged the business multiple times with hopes they will accept my pup. I REALLY wish it was possible to leave more than 5 stars for Wagon Tail Ranch. I'm not even sure where to start. The owners, Judi and Tim are wonderful and attentive. Everyone there is so professional. It's immediately obvious they know dogs and they LOVE them. It is large and clean. Lot's of room for the dogs to play. It's so well run that it inspires confidence in leaving our loved ones there. All the staff have been there for a long time which tells me that they're there because they love what they're doing. I have a doberman who hates day care so I rarely leave her in boarding. Everyone here took the time to get to know her and catered to her temperament. Daily, they sent me wonderful photos with an update on how she was doing. She had such a great time! Now that she's home (back to regular life), I think she is missing her friends and all the attention she got at Wagon Tail Ranch. I'll have to make time to take her there for day care. Judi, Timothy and their team take THE BEST care of our pups, Kea & Loa any time we leave town. We've been taking our dogs to Wagon Tail Ranch for over 2 years now!!! We know that both Kea and Loa LOVE it here because when we pull into their driveway, our relatively shy dogs wag their tails like crazy and run up to Judi and Tim like they are family!! It's like summer camp for our dogs here! They get to play with other dogs and run around freely outside in the huge yard or inside in the house getting love from Judi, Tim and the gang. Superlatives aside, the best evidence I have of how great they are is that we have been taking our lab there 2-3x per week for the last 9 months. When you add up the cost, it certainly isn't cheap, but the exercise and socialization has been absolutely priceless. Plus we really like that Judi & Timothy have a LARGE yard for all the dogs to play together. The team is great about responding to email quickly, and will even send you pictures of your pooch playing during the day. I would recommend Wagon Tail without reservation. read more

I have not tried their services mainly because the owner did not give me a chance. What I mean by that is I emailed the owner about enrolling my puppy into the doggie daycare and provided her with all the necessary information she needed to know about my dog. I get an email back right away from the owner saying: "Unfortunately we are full right now and are unable to accept new doggies at this time or daycare or boarding. We were only able to accept a few new dogs at the beginning of this year and now our waiting list is full. I'm so sorry". I then ask her if my puppy can get on a waiting list and she writes back saying that their waiting list is completely packed as well. Since I wasn't born yesterday I realized she was obviously not being honest. My puppy is a chow and I knew she discriminated against enrolling her because of her breed. This is all fine had she just been honest and told me they dont accept certain breeds. I know certain daycares have policies where they don't accept certain breeds and had the owner been upfront about it I would have completely understood. My puppy has been to many daycares and never has she ever had any issues. To confirm her dishonesty my friend emailed her about a day after I did and asked to enroll her golden retriever puppy. My friend on the other hand receives an email back within less than 5 min about how they have openings for an evaluation. So what happened to being full and not enrolling any new dogs? Why isn't she put on a waitlist? I would have appreciated an honest answer rather than giving me the run around about some lie. I'm very disappointed with this establishment. If the owners can lie so easily imagine if anything were to go wrong with my dog while at their care they could easily lie and cover themselves about something that happened. read more

Our dog Roscoe loves this place so much we have to spell out the owner's name in front on him or he will know exactly what we are talking about and think he's going there! I cannot say enough positive things about Wagon Tail Ranch. Our dog, Jackson is a rescue dog who started coming to Wagon Tail at 6 months old. He was hesitant toward men when we rescued him. Wagon Tail worked with him and made him comfortable with men instead of turning him away because he barked at them. We would take Jackson to daycare at least once a week. He LOVED it. Judi and her staff took such great care of him. She even sent pictures of his day and him having such a great time with friends. I was always confident when leaving Jackson at The Ranch. He would get so excited each time we pulled up and I had to drag him to the car when we picked him up as he always wanted to stay because he was having so much fun. We recently moved to Texas and have been unsuccessful in finding a place that loves and cares for Jackson like Judi and her staff did. My pup, hubby, and I all love WTR! Our pup Dakota has been going for daycare and play dates once per week for the past 9 months. We also boarded her there this past week while we were on vacation. I love the Wagon Tail Ranch family. More importantly, my 10-month-old Golden Doodle, Jasper, can't get enough of everyone (and every dog) at the Ranch. Judi, Tim and the entire staff are terrific. They treat Jasper very kindly. He has been coming to Wagon Tail for day care on average at least one day per week since he was about 4-1/2 months old. When he was 8-1/2 months old, we entrusted them with his care for five full days (and four nights). He had the time of his life. And while I was away and missing him, I received daily update photos and/or videos to keep me connected and assure me that he was doing great. (And, I learned, he is better behaved at Wagon Tail than he is at home!) Jasper knows when he's heading to Wagon Tail Ranch - he has the drive in the car down. When we get about a mile away, he starts to whine. When we pull onto the street and then into the drive, he begins to bark and wants to leap out of the car and into their home. He won't even look back to say goodbye! At the end of the day he is so exhausted from his activities that he is happy to see me and come home. He usually falls right to sleep in the car. The Wagon Tail Ranch staff love their guests and treat them as their own. I want Jasper to have a good social experience with other dogs, but don't want the risks you face with the unknowns at a dog park. Judi and Tim are very particular about the dogs' vaccinations, and they are very conscientious about how the different personalities interact. Home away from home for our puppy. I have gone to visit 5 dog day care / boarding facilities from Santa Monica to Topanga, Woodland Hills. We needed to board Kiki, our 5 month old female english shepherd (herder like a border collie) for the first time for 10 days. Kiki was anxious during the temperament test, and I was worried that she wouldn't pass Judi's standards. Judi recommended that I bring her back for a day play date the next day so she could see her behavior when I am not around. Thank goodness with Judi's expertise, love and care, Kiki felt comfortable the next day to relax a little and have fun! I brought her back every day for 5 days before the trip so that she could get totally used to her home away from home before we left her for 10 days. I will attach a photo of Kiki walking on to Judi's property for the first time looking concerned, and a contrasting picture of Kiki today (4 days later) having a blast with her new friends! In addition to the professional staff and care Kiki is treated to at Wagon Tail Ranch, the grounds and facility is a giant ranch home, so the dogs totally feel like they are at home, and not in some concrete building with cubicles. They sleep in the house on sofas and some of the needier dogs even sleep in bed with Judi! I am so grateful for Judi and her staff, and intend to begin taking my other 2 dogs there as well! read more

I bring my 5 month old pup Ruby here for both daycare and playdates. She can't contain herself the second we pull up. This place is the dog equivalent to child daycare so don't think you are going to just ring them up the day before and drop your dog off. You must fill out an application, make an appt. for a consultation to make sure your dog will be a good fit. They will not let your dog in the door without proof of vaccinations in hand so you better bring those. I had no problem "jumping through hoops" as some other negative reviewer put it. I know my dog is well cared for and I also am certain that everyone else who brings their dog there has also had to jump through hoops and their dog is healthy and well behaved. I have brought my senior dog here since 2009-2012. She was a dog that has never been left alone. When my husband & I joined a car club we new we had to find a place for our baby. We introduced "Lexi" our Weimaraner to Judi &Tim & the gang and never had a doubt, that this was the place for her. For a dog that never left home and had separation anxiety issues, she flourished in the atmosphere at Wagon Tail Ranch. Each time we took her there she was confident, excited and came home well & happy! She had many good times at the ranch which will be fondly remembered. Today we are happy to say we have a 8 month old Weimaraner named "Lacey" and she too has been a regular at the ranch for a few months now and we cannot be happier again to report that she is happy, excited and very well taken care of. Our dog is not perfect or well mannered yet and has some sleeping disorder issues but Judi & Tim don't give up or complain that she's a handful, instead they do what they can to accommodate your dog so the overall experience isn't a stressful one. So if your dog is young or old, don't hesitate, Wagon Tail has experience with all ages. Judi has also recommended the best trainers which I am currently using with amazing affects. Judi has a lot of knowledge and is always willing to give advice when she can. Thank you Wagon Tail Ranch for taking my babies and caring for them as if they were yours.
