I am incredibly disappointed to be writing this review because High Paw was a business I had previously trusted and enthusiastically recommended. In the past, High Paw took great care of my dogs, Hugo and Morris, during one of the most difficult times imaginable when Hugo was critically ill and nearing the end of his life. Their compassion and professionalism at their previous Variel Ave location earned my trust, which is why I confidently recommended them to 4 of my closest friends for our recent group vacation. Unfortunately, the High Paw we experienced at their new Woodland Hills location was nothing like the one I remembered. Our group boarded 4 dogs together, dropping them off around 4:30pm on Monday, 7/13. At 5:00pm, I created a group text with all 4 owners so High Paw could send updates, pics, and videos to everyone at once. By 7:30pm we had received absolutely nothing despite multiple texts, calls, and voicemails. By 10:30pm, after more than five hours of silence, all 4 owners were understandably anxious. We were leaving for an international vacation early the next morning and hadn't received a single confirmation that our dogs were okay. Since I live nearby, I drove to High Paw. The overnight employee, who I learned was the owner Danny's dad, answered immediately. He was kind, apologetic, and explained their phone system had undergone a scheduled software update that prevented calls and texts from coming through. Technical issues happen, but no one had communicated this scheduled outage to us. He apologized and assured me he would update our group text immediately. About 30 minutes later we finally received a text confirming the dogs were okay. Naturally, after six hours without communication on the very first night, each owner replied and asked how each of their dog was adjusting and requested a quick photo before bed. Again, we received nothing. Knowing their phone systems were now working, I called and Charlene answered and immediately told me it was "unprofessional" to call after business hours. I explained I wouldn't have called if our messages throughout the evening had been answered. She then informed me that High Paw only provides updates between 8:00am-6:00pm. This completely contradicted my previous experiences with High Paw and former employee Stephanie, where communication frequently extended beyond business hours. More importantly, when customers are paying for overnight boarding while traveling out of state or internationally, requesting occasional updates is not unreasonable--it's part of the peace of mind you're paying for. Initially she seemed understanding and suggested updates could extend until 8:00pm Minutes later, however, she sent a text doubling down on the policy, instructing us not to contact the overnight employee because it was their "personal time," and informing us that this would be the last time High Paw would board our dogs. Concerned by the wording of the text, one of my friends simply replied whether someone was actually onsite overnight with the dogs. The response was cold and abrupt: "Please come pick up your dogs." At approximately 12:12am--less than five hours before our departure to LAX--we were suddenly forced to retrieve all 4 dogs. With no boarding facilities available this late and last minute, we had no backup plans. One member of our group, Heather, made the incredibly selfless decision to cancel her vacation she had planned and saved for over a year, so she could stay behind and care for all 4 dogs. Without her sacrifice, the rest of us would have been forced to cancel flights, hotels, and thousands of dollars in prepaid travel arrangements. Even with her decision, our vacation was ruined knowing one of our closest friends had been left behind because of a completely avoidable situation. When we arrived, Danny and his dad were genuinely apologetic and professional. Unfortunately, that professionalism was overshadowed by Charlene, who hurried our belongings out the door with little interest in resolving what had become an entirely preventable crisis. What disappoints me most is that none of this needed to happen. This situation began with a communication failure and escalated because of defensiveness instead of empathy. Businesses make mistakes. The best businesses acknowledge them, communicate honestly, and work to make things right. That was the High Paw I remembered. Sadly, it is no longer the High Paw we experienced. I sincerely hope ownership reflects on how this situation was handled because Danny and his dad demonstrated the kindness and diligence we once associated with this business. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I can no longer recommend High Paw to anyone who values reliable communication, professionalism, and peace of mind while traveling. No pet owner should ever find themselves scrambling after midnight to retrieve their dogs just hours before an international vacation because they asked for a simple update.

Wanted to provide an update after Duffy has spent a fun filled year with the High Paw team. The staff has been so attentive and loving towards Duffy to the point that when she sees any of the staff she runs frantically to greet them and give them kisses. I work from home/ hybrid -at times my schedule changes in the moment and the staff at High Paw have not only been flexible and reactive to my schedule but also loving to my dog and have treated her so well with love and affection. For those dog parents out there that can't be at home all day due to work I highly recommend checking High Paw out.

Had a great boarding experience with Danny at High Paw Woodland Hills. She did not want to come home after 4 days away and the picture updates were a great reassurance.

My 5 month old puppy has stayed here a handful of times overnight and she always seems to have a great time. They are communicative and send photos/ updates about your pup which I really appreciate. Honey and I say thank you guys!

Absolutely loved this doggy daycare for my little pup! I live in the building and when I found out they were opening up, I was super excited! I have a soft spot for dog lovers and caretakers so i'm a huge supporter of daycares like this one. Check-in was super easy and friendly. They have you sign a waiver with your information, just make sure you show proof of their shots and vaccinations. My little Maui felt right at home using all of the amenities and had no hesitation becoming a goldstar member there lol. The owners send you updated pictures and videos which I loved. Thanks so much High Paw!

He really thrived at the interaction he had both with other dogs there and with Uncle Danny and team.

Lately, I've seen so many heartbreaking stories about doggy daycares: dogs getting hurt, neglected, escaping, or simply not being treated with the love they deserve. Every time I read one, my first thought is the same: thank God Nova has Ally and Travis. Nova has been coming here since he was just 6 months old. He's now about to turn 5, which means they've been part of nearly his entire life. They've watched him grow from a timid, reactive puppy into the confident, happy dog he is today. They know his quirks, his routines, what makes him nervous, what makes him excited, and they have loved every version of him along the way. As dog owners, we all know there are very few people we'd trust with our entire heart. That's what our dogs are. They're not just pets, they're family. And somehow Ally and Travis have earned a level of trust that I didn't even know was possible. I've left Nova with them for the longest periods I've ever left him with anyone, and I've never once laid awake wondering if he was okay. There has never been a moment where I questioned whether he was safe, loved, exercised, or cared for. That kind of peace is priceless, and if you're a dog parent, you know exactly what I mean. What means the most to me is that Nova makes the choice himself every single time. The second he realizes where we're going, he's beside himself with excitement. If he doesn't get to see Ally or Travis, he cries. When he does, he runs to them without looking back. As someone whose dog was once fearful of people, seeing him love someone that deeply tells me everything I need to know. Dogs don't fake trust. They don't pretend to feel safe. They either do, or they don't. Nova has never questioned whether Ally and Travis are his people. Over the years, they've been there through my work schedule, my vacations, family emergencies, and every moment in between. They have given me something I can never truly repay: the ability to go through life knowing that the biggest piece of my heart is safe. That feeling is something every dog parent hopes to find, and so few actually do. Even if life takes me somewhere else one day, if I'm ever back in town and need someone to watch Nova, there is no question where he's going. I would drive hours just to leave him with Ally and Travis because trust like this isn't replaceable. They're not just our daycare: they're part of Nova's family. If you're scrolling through reviews wondering whether this is the right place for your dog, I hope this helps. Five years later, after hundreds of drop-offs and pickups, I can say with complete confidence that choosing Ally and Travis was one of the best decisions I've ever made for Nova. They have loved him like he was their own, and I will spend the rest of his life being grateful for that.

She also sends daily pictures which is great to see. Ally and Travis care deeply about the dogs. When I was away, she went out of her way to help take care a skin infection my dog was having before I could take him to the vet. I definitely recommend.
