Met friends after work last night for a quick bite. Food was good, nothing special to write about, service was ok, server was knowledgeable about the menu items, bill was ok too for the three of us. My two issues (which since it's a sports bar type place and I knew that so not sure this is fair) is the parking. Arrived about 5:30 and no parking, so parked in the plaza and walked over, but once inside the tables are mostly empty but the bar is jammed to the max! Secondly the TV's, so many TV's, reminded me of those 80's clubs that I thought went south. So in fairness, the place was ok for food, price, and service, but TV's & parking are a bummer. read more

The Distillery will do in a pinch. This particular location is fairly wide open inside! Plenty of TVs to watch the sports venues and they always have a special on drinks which isn't a bad thing at all! As for the food it's your standard pub fair. However they do have a special ' s menu and periodically throw some new items on the menu. The pretzel burger I had was ok. I wish I was bigger in fact and had more french fries to go along with it! I'll stop back in when I'm in the general area and grab a beer and I'll try something else! read more

I've ordered take-out from here once. It was when a bills game was on, and my friends and I just wanted some greasy bar food to drink beer with. Given the close proximity to where we were, the Distillery was the best option. The boneless wings were delicious and just what we were looking for!! Ordering was quick and easy. Pick up was also seamless. Recently, I've also enjoyed a few drinks at the bar with a friend. He is a regular, frequenting quite often. He knows all the bartenders and had a relationship with most of them. He loves it here, orders food, and is always quite satisfied with his service. The bartenders are all pleasant to be around, and the service is great! Will most likely be back here again in the future. Never had any complaints. read more

We went to the location on Winton rd. Sat on the patio. It wasnt very busy on a saturday night which was surprising. We were seated and told they didnt have enough menus so my wife and i shared one. We watched as the family with two toddlers were seated and all 4 were given menus - even the kids. Everyone got their drinks/food while we waited for our drinks. We also watched as dirty tables nearby werent cleared and birds were feasting on the food on them. The hipster looking server acted like he didnt give a shit at all. While in town, we met some friends here for lunch. It was a nice day (not too hot) so we sat on the patio. Unlike most of the other reviews, we found the service to be great. Our server was attentive, friendly and quick. She never let our drinks become empty. Our food was good: I got the buffalo chicken sandwich (and subbed a pretzel roll and fries instead of the regular roll and chips), my husband got the turkey club with fries and other people in our party got pizzas and a Ruben. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Food came out fast, hot and correct. Gave a 4-star instead of 5 just because it didn't blow me away but I still think it is a decent place to stop when you are in the Henrietta area. read more

This used to be THE place to go for great chicken wings. We've even put up with horrible service in the past with an even worse excuse for a manager, but it had been a couple years since we ventured back here. Unfortunately, this is now the last place on my list. Sundays they have a 10 wings for $10 or 20 for $20 special and it NOT busy.- not even half full. Our two separate wing orders came to the table- one horrifically overcooked and the other order just barely done. Both orders were WAAYY undersauced with not just one or two, but several wings had no sauce on them at all. The fried green beans were perfectly fine but the 2oz remoulade sauce cup was only 1/2 full, so we had to eat some with no dipping sauce. My $4.99 greek side salad had several pieces of wilted lettuce, otherwise it was just ok. The service was fine this time and although I want to support this place, but it seems to be getting worse and worse with time. I appreciate the environment with multiple TVs to view games/sports as well as plenty of space to be comfortable. The server was attentive while not necessarily memorable, and the food was decent. Despite complaints about service in other reviews, I've been somewhat of a regular at this place over several stints in the past year, and I've never had bad treatment. Sometimes they're slow when they're super busy, but this is a pretty giant bar and that can happen from time to time. Perhaps I'm more forgiving as someone who has worked in food service. Places this big are going to have the occasional poorly-trained employee, or backed up kitchen, etc. Get over it, or go to a place that's not the size of the Taj Mahal. The food is super typical bar stuff. The burgers are good enough for me to break my diet routine for, but not good enough to write home about... let's say B+ on the burgers. There's a bit of a beer selection, but I typically come here to meet up with friends and share pitchers, which is usually the typical big-brand stuff like Yuengling. The atmosphere can be pretty nice when the place is a bit dead. I was there last night and people were chilling on the patio with the little gas fireplace lit... it can be a good vibe! Overall it's a bit on the loud side at time, but that suits my purposes since I'm normally there to have loud, vulgar, and inappropriate conversations. Sports fans will be very satisfied with their TV coverage. I've also been in here at earlier hours, and you could certainly do much worse for a happy hour bar. I'm not in love with the place, but they've got it to a point in quality where I'll always come back because it's just super convenient for those random "LET'S ALL GO TO THE BAR" moments. read more

I rarely come here because they don't have a beer selection that I appreciate. They took away the only good beer to me, hoegaarden. Their only other Belgium selection is shock top... no thanks! I live on the west side so I usually go to that one so when I went to the one on Winton I was pleasantly surprised to see that they still have Hoegaarden (still don't in greece).They also have great Margarita specials, two for one. You can have them frozen or on the rocks. You can have one double Margarita or two separate Margaritas but they need to give them to you at the same time if you choose two, so I usually opt for the double! Their food is pretty good. I like their grilled cajun fish sandwich and the quesadillas (guacamole is an extra cost). The staff was super friendly (I sat at the bar) and can make a mean white russian. The Distillery doesn't do much to make me want to go there but when I do I am satisfied. read more

Haven't been to the Distillery in a couple years, took a co-worker who was in from out of town last night. What a complete disappointment! Ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and wings! The pizza use to be fresh, hand tossed, big pieces of chicken and lots of flavor. Now it comes out looking like a 7-eleven microwave pizza with small pieces of chicken and no flavor. The wings also had no flavor and cold, tasted like they were precooked and sitting out. Prices went up and food quality went down. Gave 2 starts because the beer was cold. Don't recommend especially with other restaurant options around this location. read more

Here on Wednesday night for just a pint and sat at the bar. Took a little bit for the bartender to come over (considering the sparse crowd, but who knows what housekeeping stuff needed to be addressed), but once she came over, she was courteous and friendly, and got my drink quickly. Good selection of beers on tap. Maybe I'm just picky about the service, but hey, it's one of my pet peeves. I don't expect to be waited on immediately, but at least acknowledge me. read more

This review is for my take out order. I have not dined in so I'm not familiar with their service. Ordering over the phone was a breeze and my order was ready pretty quickly. My only reason for deducting stars is that my fries weren't hot (I was only a short distance away when I called) and were EXTREMELY salty and I couldn't eat them. I also ordered my burger medium-well but it was definitely medium-rare it was sooo pink that I did not finish it either. If you order take out, check your food before you leave. read more

We've been to all of their locations, but this is my first review. I've been there for a five star meal, and for a three star meal, so I'm going to go right in the middle of that range here. Today we ordered the smothered tots as an appetizer, and they were fantastic. However, the queso was non-existent, and the cilantro crema tasted like tzatziki, so points are taken off for menu accuracy (not flavor though!). I have to say the same thing about the shrimp tacos, they seemed to be missing promised avocados and the crema was more Greek than Mexican. Again, the tacos were still awesome. The wife got the chicken quesadillas, and we brought most of them home. I'll definitely go back, but maybe get some less complex menu items? read more

As a person who lived in Rochester for more than 10 years, I visited Distillery quite often. As a college student, I used to drink every Friday and Saturday evening with my friends, and many of those times, the place was Distillery (in Mt Hope). After graduation, I moved to Brighton, and the Distillery at Winton was less than a 10 minutes drive from my place. Again, I used to go to this place at least twice a month with my friends and/or co-workers. Then about three years ago, my friends and I were dining again and having a few beers. We are not a rowdy type; we were just chatting, and my friend happened to tip the cup over by mistake, and cup broke. We called the waitress, and my friends and I apologized for breaking the glass. And the answer from her: "Oh you should be." Really? As she left with the broken cup, I asked my friend if I heard that right. When she came over to give us a new cup, I asked her if she's okay, because she seems really upset. Then she started explaning "Oh no, it's just that if you guys get hurt with the broken glass...yada yada yada" Maybe she thought I didn't speak English too well. Maybe she was just having a shitty day. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, because Distillery was my favorite spot, and most of the servers are very nice most of the time. I went home and wrote an email through its website, but I did not get any answer back from them. In the email, I specifically wrote that I am not asking anything in return; all I needed was a sincere apology for a customer who had visited its restaurant for more than five years. No replies whatsoever. I can live without their foods, and I can live without ever visiting Distillery. That's fine with me. What makes me write this review after three years is the disappointment and anger that the restaurant I loved did not even care to write a short note back to its customer. And this review is to also let people know that there are other options like Rohrbach and Tully's that they can give a try. It's your money. Please spend it to somebody or some place that at least listens to you when you reach out. read more

It all starts with the experience. This local establishment offers typical "bar" food. They have wings which is my addiction with flavor options! Those are always fun. They have truffle fries again one of my faves and of course burgers etc. The reason for the very low rating was because of the experience we received. We were greeted promptly at the door by the host. We were asked if we were ok with a high top and we all said yes. We were then seated in a booth. lol I know! Our server was the worst part of this visit. She was so overwhelmed with her 4 tables that she neglected to give us water,napkins or even check up on us. We spent a good portion of the visit waiting for her and ensuring she got our orders. I'm hoping to visit this place again to give them another shot. Maybe it was just a bad server. read more

They completely messed up my GrubHub order, this is the second time now. It's a real schlock operation that can't seem to get it together. When I asked the driver, he states that they only gave him what was in the bag and to call The Distillery. I call The Distillery and they say that only one item came through, so I should call Grub Hub, I told the hostess that I was charged for two items both on by card and the GH on-line receipt. She again tells me to call GH, I call GH, they are seeing what I am seeing. Bottom line, they credit my account, I get half of my order. Clearly The Distillery needs to get it together .. It's really too bad because it's close by ... but so is Quimby's and the food is better. read more

The food was decent....what you would expect from a pub. The reason for 2 stars is 2 fold....first, I could not substitute anything. I ordered the wings and ribs...I asked for grilled wings....they can't do that. I asked for truffle fries....they can't do that. I felt like every time we asked for something the answer was no. Second, the service was terrible. We had to ask our waitress multiple times for water. She seemed rushed every time we came over...she barely ever stopped by our tabke ...she would slow down when she walked by. When we ordered dessert, she didn't know if they still carried it and then ran by several minutes later and said yes. Lastly, if you wanted extra anything, they charged. ...extra blue cheese? That's extra...ice cream with your cookie dessert (which was how it was advertised) that's extra.... seems like they nickel and dimed you for everything. I have been here a few times but most recently cane with a friend to catch up since it had been a while since we have seen each other. We went for lunch on a Sunday which was nice because the place was dead. We felt like we could take our time and relax and not worry about the waitress needing the table for the next set of diners and it was quiet. Our waitress was great. She was attentive to our needs. The food is always pretty good. I am never unsatisfied leaving there. This time I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. I also like their chips but they could use some seasoning. This is certainly a great place to come watch a game as there are TV's everywhere. Overall, This is a great place to come once in a while especially for games but I don't crave to ever come here. read more

We had a last minute booking for 20 people, and so it was amazing that they could accommodate us. I have to commend them for their service, all the waiters and manager was super helpful, nice, and sure to answer all our questions. I am certain it's difficult with such a large group but they were all so patient, and willing to help us with our orders and separate checks. The rating is low because of the quality of the food. My burger was cold when it got to me, and just wasn't good. Neither was the pitcher of margarita which just tasted like lemon water and added sugar. The portions are also much smaller than expected, and for what you pay for, I don't think it's worth it. However, it was packed when we got there, maybe for their draft beers, and TV. I have been to The Distillery before and it was passable but this last visit has turned me off from going there anymore. The food is way overpriced and the service was terrible. I had a side salad, some french onion soup and a piece of pie and it cost me $17 before tip. Way too much for a place like this. The salad was ice burg lettuce with a couple of rings of onion, one tomato slice and three croutons. The french onion soup was good but for the price not enough. The pie was a peanut butter pie that I cannot imagine they made on the premises, it was tasty but not worth the 6.99 price I saw when given the bill. The waitress only stopped by to give me my food and the bill. Terrible service and I could have gotten better food at a fast food place for much less. read more

First off, I love the Distillery. The 3 locations in Victor, Greece and the original on Mt. Hope have good food and good service. I don't know what it is about this location, but I seems to be a disaster every time I go here. The last time I went to this location 5 years ago, the waitress I had changed the tip amount that I left from 14 dollar tip to a 19.00 tip. I let management know at the time and just never cam back. I was running later in the evening and I placed an on line order. I was at the eastablishment at 10:05 about 15 minutes before they said it would be ready. I waited in the lobby for 15 minutes, near the sign that said " Take Out". I received a text that my food was ready and stood up looking to see if anyone was bringing my good up. A sever approached the desk and sat 2 patrons and asked what I was waiting for. I stated I had an online order and I got a texted saying it was ready. He said he would seat the guest and be right back. He never returned. Another server came up to the desk. He, at first seemed like he wanted to help me, but as he was asking me what I was waiting for, another server struck up a conversation and interrupted him, and totally ignored me. He walked away and in the background, I could see that another server had take out containers in a bag, was walking to the front desk, but stopped and placed the bags on the bar. I waited another few minutes and I finally walked up to he bar and looked at the bag with the containers and noticed that in fact it was my food. I got the attention of the bartender and said to her, can I take my food,? She said, did you order online? I stated yes. She then stated, well all orders after 10 are kept at the bar. I said to her that 2 different people acknowledged me at the front desk and knew I was waiting. I said to her how was I supposed to know where to wait after 10, no signs were posted. She looked at me with a blank stare and I grabbed my food and left. 10:39 PM The food was good, of course. But that is never the issue. read more

Will never come here again. Showed the waitress a coupon offer I had BEFORE ordering and she said she would take care of it at the end. After we were done eating and it was time to pay, she said that her manager told her I couldn't use the coupon because I had gotten a 2 for 1 margarita. That's the most OUTRAGEOUS rule I have ever heard for one. For two, I deliberately showed the coupon before to avoid the embarrassment of them making up some rule. I was very reluctant to go to the Distillery last night because we had been thoroughly disrespected twice by two hostesses at Mt Hope location ignoring us while we waited over an hour for a table with our black pager clearly visible to them. The second at Winton Rd with a very rude waitress, she practically threw a dish of butter at my husband when he asked for it for the roll that came with his dinner. After these experiences years ago we never returned until last night. We were greeted promptly by a very nice hostess who quickly showed us to a booth. Our server Greg was FLAWLESS. Attentive, funny and genuinely cared about our visit. My chicken sandwich was yummy and my husband said his fish fry was really great. Way to redeem yourself Distillery. Nothing that a few less dollars on the menu wouldn't fix. The food at this restaurant is just average. The quality of the ingredients seems good enough, but when you pay $10.95 or more for a sandwich, you expect it to be something special. For $8.95, I'd expect a Steak in the Grass (or its poultry substitute) to be juicy and meaty. The sandwich was dry, mostly bread, and lacked flavor. They only had one Distillery beer on tap (Scottish ale), but at least that was a very good one, so it redeems the place slightly (along with the rest of their large draft selection). I wouldn't come here again to eat, but I would consider coming back to drink (and possibly having some food at the same time). read more

This is my perferred Distillery Location. I really enjoy the patio with the fire pit at night. It's a welcoming spot with a glass of wine and a bit of chill in the air. The last time I was here I got a house salad and the hummus appetizer. It was all very filling and quite satisfying. I like coming here because I can always find something vegetarian friendly to eat. The rest of my family love the burgers... they order them or the chicken wings when they come. I have to say the chicken wings smell wonderful! The 2 for 1 margaritas aren't so bad either.... What brings this bar down to a 3 Star is the service. It is unpredictable and often times the young college age servers have more important things to do and forget to check back. This really bothers me - when i spend money at a restaurant I don't enjoy waiting and waiting... I think they would get a 4 Star if they could improve on that.... But the menu and patio keep bringing me back... and hoping the servers are more attentive each time. Maybe next time they will be? read more

This newer Distillery location retains some of the charm of the original Mt. Hope restaurant, but definitely feels like a half-notch down. The service is more reliable, but the food is usually not quite as good. It's up to snuff, just...slightly blander. But it's still the same Distillery staples, the decent (but not amazing) beer list, the daily specials and half-price apps, the crowd-pleasing appetizers, the burgers. The decor is certainly clean, and has the trademark wooden booths. I may have become jaded by years and years at the original spot, but I find myself wondering why there are always so many people at this location. Day or night, weekday or weekend, it's almost always difficult to find a parking spot. It's sort of a just-good-enough place for many purposes, I suppose. Bar food, decent array of TVs, full bar, jukebox, good service...but, as is the case in many sit-down restaurants, the prices have risen and are no longer a good deal. When I get around to reviewing the Mt. Hope restaurant, I'll say more about it, but it used to be fantastic for late night munchies. Now it's a significant commitment. I often see families there also - this is a far cry from how it used to feel! That's not to knock family-friendly service, just that the character has gotten more commercial. Despite this, you can still get a decent meal and pint there, and probably not pay too much, and be treated well, and not usually have to wait. It's mostly nothing new, so if you've been burned out on the appetizers, it's not exciting so much as functional. read more

Stopped in here while in the area for a hockey tournament. This place had a great laid back environment, lots of big screens with games on. I ended up getting the hot pastrami sandwich, it could have used a little more pastrami, but it tasted great. The fries were a little greasy though. I'm new to the area and have heard from many people about The Distillery. My first visit is a little fuzzy - we ended up there after a night of drinking, and continued to drink there. From what I can remember, it was a fairly average bar space. We ordered some french fries, and after waiting for 20 minutes, we asked the bartender what was up. She apologized; she forgot to put the order in. It happens! She told us she'd take care of us with a "huge" amount of fries. If what we got is huge, then ordering a side of fries isn't worth it. The second time I experienced the Distillery, hubz and I wanted dinner after (another) night of drinking. We ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and I specifically requested fries as my side (instead of the alternatives). When hubz arrived home...no fries. And the sandwich was fairly boring and tasteless Apparently the Distillery never wants me to eat fries. read more

Very few people at 5:30 last night. Seated right away. First noticed 4 men (management?) standing in front of kitchen in a discussion - all with their masks down around their chin. Most of the kitchen staff was visible from my seat and very few were wearing masks, carrying on conversations over the cooking stations. Some had a mask but were not worn properly. Servers wore masks into and out of the kitchen. Ordered fish fry - in the past they had a very good one - not so today. Our waitress didn't charge us for mine. I have been to this location twice and have been so impressed with the food! The truffle fries are delicious. I also had the chicken potstickers and they were also fantastic and had a great dipping sauce. The spicy Thai chili wing sauce is another fave. The service is fast and courteous. I think The Distillery has really stepped up their game and I'll be coming back for sure! read more
