Salted caramel shots

Not sure why the reviews are so low, came here on a Thursday night for some drinks and it was a vibe! They played good music, our server was super nice and came to check in on us frequently, made sure we were hydrated. Didn't try the food but saw the prices and it's a great cheap food place! Will definitely try the food next time I'm here!

Who would order Dom Perignon here?!??

The Dime is one of those places where all food is $4.99. Nothing special about the food (which can vary between meh to pretty darn good, depending on what you order), but it's decent, and it's five bucks. However, the drinks are really overpriced--at least the wine is--so as a wine drinker, I wouldn't go here for drinks. I went on Wednesday evening with some friends, and Wednesdays are Wing Wednesdays, with chicken wings being $0.33 each, with minimum orders of ten wings. So $3.33 for a decent sized portion of wings, which are pretty tasty. I'm definitely coming back on a Wednesday! Another thing to note: wifi is excellent. Immediately I was connected to their wifi--I didn't have to log in or anything (I'm not sure if it's because I have been there before and previously connected to their wifi, or if it just automatically connects you), and not once did it cut out. Their wifi is better than in my own home. Also, gender neutral bathrooms! [Yelp collections: Poor and hungry?]

Dime is a typical bar where you will have a lot of drinks and food. The songs in there, are nice :) It's really a nice place to go by yourself or with your friends. The service is a little slow and sometimes the waitress forgets your drinks, like all the time. The beers are amazing with a lot of options and the cocktails are good too. So, try all them. My favourite one was Jacob - they mix Smirnoff with lemon, it's simple but it is good. I tried the tomato and pepper one, but I didn't like, but if you like exotic things, you will love that. I ordered a Dime Sandwich with potatoes, they are really good :) So, visit this restaurant and ask some beers, you will love it and don't forget, they have food menu with a lot of options for $ 4,95. So, enjoy it :)

When you see a sign that says $4.95 for all food.... you mind thinks... is it good... can I eat it? And it lingered on me for the longest time till I had a chance to check this joint out. I have been to the former venue 'La Rocca' so I knew what was here before, and how it looked before the face lift, and they did a good job. A real 'chill' type place, your local neighbourhood bar with many beers on tap, and cheap food, can't go wrong, but is it any good? What makes this place different? We came in on a busy weeknight, not much seats, so we decided to park our butts at the bar. The bartender and the manager on the floor made it an effor to acknowledge our existance right away, by telling us their names, by asking if we had come here, and just feeling welcome. It was a weird thing, as I used to just parking anywhere in a bar, having some guy/girl who is using the job as part-time come by take my order, run off, drop my stuff and disappear into the abyss, but this was not the case one bit. This place has got the old but bright wood look, tons of tv's, especially sitting at the bar, so if your catching the game you will definitely see it, and a pretty decent food menu. On this night we ordered some maple bacon gnocchi, Korean fried chicken wings, and a pulled pork sandwich.... with fries... hey $4.95... these portions aren't weasley small either, and it ain't crap. When you need a cold one, and you need some food..... this maybe my joint to be on the Drive.

I think it's interesting to have all the food at $5.95... the sizes were ok. I wish I tried the burgers and entrees as they are all the same price. The music was a bit loud for me and hey, it's a bar, right? The server was very attentive and even asked me if I wanted my hot water to be topped! Yes, I prefer to have my hot water today...

The food is actually not bad for $5.00 and if you're not a drinker, then your meal is even more affordable! Their menu really seems like a hit or miss for most people, but our group seemed to enjoy our meal. The best items were probably the artichoke dip and perogies. It was a busy Friday night when we went so the service was a bit slow but the waitress was really friendly and accommodating. It feels like this would be a great place to get cheap drunk food after a night out!

Their "brunch burger" is a major missed opportunity though... this really should have a fried egg on it. You could possibly add an egg from the ala carte section of the menu, but those cost $3, so you'd be looking at $27 for a burger and a half a cup of fried potatoes. That's insanely expensive. Currently the brunch burger has two small patties which have a tendency to overcook and become dry. My patties were well-done despite me asking for medium - don't even ask if the kitchen can't deliver. Not sure what makes that a brunch burger, but it would be much better if those two patties were combined into one, and a fried egg was added, while staying below a $24 price point expensive burgers in Vancouver. Other restaurants can do it.... Oh, the other disappointing thing is that the card reader defaults to tips at 18, 25, and 28%. Not cool - we already pay servers high wages in BC, tipping should be 10% if not eliminated altogether. 28%? No thanks!

The ambiance is so cute, staff were all so friendly and welcoming, and the food and cocktails were beyond delicious. Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area and looking for a bite or a cocktail. Food/drink review: Paper planes: (5/5) Super well balanced and delicious. Red flag: (5/5)Obsessed. The flavor profile of this drink was perfect. I could've had 2 or 3 of these. Vodka pasta: (5/5) DELICIOUS. Not even being dramatic, some of the best pasta I've ever had. The sauce was so flavorful, creamy, and the noodles were well coated. Caesar salad: (5/5) This was so refreshing and delicious!! Only problem is I wish we got a bigger one lol. The dressing was so creamy and tangy, yumm! Shishito peppers: (4/5) Simple, but yummy. Cooked perfectly and not too spicy. Asparagus: (5/5) Surprisingly sooo delicious! These were cooked to perfection, had great texture, and dipping sauce was yummy! Tuna tartare: (5/5) The fish was so fresh and this dish was to die for. Seriously could've eaten this entire bowl.

I will mention I have celiac and asked for what I could safely have gluten free and was surprised they had so many options! I had the butter beef tataki, which I enjoyed but definitely better to share since it's a lot for one person. I also had the bang bang shrimp which is made with mochi flour and gives it an incredible crunch, I will mention I did not this this was spicy at all but I have a high tolerance so take that as you will. The star of the show here was absolutely the spicy vodka which I had with their gluten free noodle, I must admit that this is probably one of the best spicy vodka sauces I've ever had! Lastly, I had an affogato which they were able to do with decaf. Overall, the service was incredible. Every server and hostess was incredibly kind and attentive. They did everything they could to accommodate my celiac. Of course eat where you feel comfortable, what works for me may not for you. Lastly, the location is very vibey. The indoor and outdoor seating options are both awesome choices. They had great music playing that was not too loud and allowed patrons to be able to still chat. I loved the food so much I saved some in the fridge and trekked it through the airport all the way back to LA for my partner to try! Can't wait to be back.
