Stopped by mid week around 1 pm to meet friends and watch a World Cup match. They do have a nice selection of beverages and plenty of TVs showing the game. Their menu is somewhat limited. Opted for the classic burger and fries with a Fat Tug IPA. The presentation and taste were as expected...good but not great. The burger was tasteless and needed seasoning. Think I would only order the nachos from here moving forward. read more

The manager served our food with a long delay even though we called the staff several times. When she realized we wanted to leave, she became very rude. She took our order in a rushed manner and told us, "I am busy," even though the restaurant was empty. She also did not inform us that there would be extra charges for ingredients in the burger. When the bill arrived and I asked about the extra charges, she said the menu price was only for a plain burger and claimed that she had already mentioned the additional cost, which she did not. She then grabbed the money from the table in a very disrespectful manner. Overall, the customer service was very disappointing. read more

We sat outside. It was a Friday at 11am. Service was painfully slow and the server was quite rude (older lady) she even snapped at us when we asked about the potato skins..because apparently they are called something else there . We were ordering 3 drinks at a time just to make sure we could get enough booze before the ball game. The potato appy is the best thing ever. You must order this. We came here on a late afternoon on a crisp sunny early October. Luckily, they had heated outdoor seats (it's breezy so wear a coat), so we could dine there in person. Gotta say, what a great little neighbourhood gem! Very relaxed vibe, friendly staff. Our server was super friendly and helpful. We ordered their potato haystacks, Casper salad and roast beef dinner. The Caesar salad was ENORMOUS. Order a half size, or share it with 3-4 people. The dressing had real anchovies in it (a plus for me), but could have used a bit more lemon, so maybe get some extra. The haystacks were also HUGE, and OMG SO FRIGGEN DELICIOUS!! Basically, if a rosti, hash browns and fully loaded potato skins had a lovebaby, this would have been it. If you're on a diet, this isn't for you. If you want to enjoy a deliriously good "naughty" cheat dish, this big platter of carbs and fat is the ticket. Except for the bacon, it would be vegetarian. The roast beef was probably the least successful dish, but it was still pretty good, because the vegetables were so d*mn good (honestly, that roasted kale is like crack). The biggest quibble is that they carve you a very thin piece. I'd prefer a thicker cut, or maybe have the option to pay extra for a thicker cut. I had ordered a rare slice, but got well done. The server immediately replaced it with a rare slice and told me to take the well done pieces home "for the dog" - this was appreciated. And no, I don't have a dog, so it went into a breakfast hash the next day. The wine list is small but REALLY excellent value. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to my next visit (with a proper coat on)! read more

I've frequented this establishment a few times. Loving the outdoor patio, hope they get some heated lamps for winter. Enjoyed their soups, wraps and sandwiches. Ordered an espresso martini and I'd recommend you go for something else, or if the owner is reading this... please don't use coffee liquor as the base... I'd pay a bit more for a shot of espresso with some espresso vodka from van goh. Service is good, it's bar service. We came here with my Son and his Fiancé and they just loved their experience The value is still very good here especially compared to lots of other restaurants in town The serving sizes are all very generous and the prime rib was huge! Great dog-friendly place! There is a small area in the front (bar height seating) that is covered by a canopy - might be able to get away with this if there is rain. Otherwise, there is a great patio area both upfront and at the back of the restaurant that has lots of picnic tables with umbrellas - perfect for beautiful sunny days! Patio area is also heated and there are dog bowls provided. Dogs can sit right by the table which is great! No need to tie up on the other side of the fence. Servers are very nice and always checks in! Food and drinks are okay. Pawrents ordered cocktails but will probably just go with beers next time. They ordered the to share plate with ribs - ribs were good and also the calamari! The chicken parm they ordered were okay - chicken was a bit dry. read more

This place service is hit and miss. Sometimes the service is okay. Sometimes it's absolutely borderline terrible. One server. Pretty rude. And blunt. Absolutely no sense of hurmor and we took it to the manager. Seriously. Chill girl. When your patron SAYS EXCUSE ME MISS, HELLO, and WAVES A CANDLE IN THE DARK PLACE to get your attention that we'd like to pay. It's pretty bad. You had two tables wanting to pay. You visited neither. The customer beside us had been waiting a while. Us too. The whole evening service was half half. You took their order. Never once even glanced at the table RIGHT BESIDE THAT TABLE (your other table in your area) to see if they are ready to order. We said excuse me. As you started to walk away. You didn't hear us. You then left. Came back. Checked on ANOTHER table directly ACROSS from us. Still facing us, and then took off again. Without even LOOKING UP. at us at the next table behind them. Just look up. You don't even need to swivel your head. I'm serious. And then you're offended when we are counting how long it takes for you to come to our table so we can pay and leave. And offended enough to THROW my receipt at me? And then give me a piece of your mind. Really??? You don't belong in that establishment if you have this sort of attitude. For real. So when you walk in here you see signs that say "One of South Main's Friendliest Local Spots" Then you sit down and the bartender is scowling, waiters and waitresses are just absent minded/doing their own thing. If this is what you think 'friendly' means then you really need to do some soul searching. For what it's worth, the drinks are over priced and the food is bland. read more

I have to give this a better review than I did before because I keep returning, knowing that I'm gonna get quality food & service for reasonable prices. I like their selection of food. They have a good variety - salads, burgers, appetizers and pasta, etc. There's always a special. Today, a friend and I stopped by mid-afternoon and tried both specials: the steak & potato for $15 and the chicken Caesar wrap w/soup for $10. Both meals were filling and tasted good. There were also a few drink specials - sangria, a martini or Philips beer. I had the beer for $5.75 a pint. They have a selection of 8 local beer on tap, or you can order imports in bottles. There's also a good selection of wines. I like the atmosphere; it's comfortable and inviting. I also enjoy sitting on their patio when I can. It's right along Main Street, and they have a TV screen if you wanna look at something else, like views of travel (that's what it was today). It's also heated for those cooler times. Ordered the Curry Chicken entrée tonite for takeout. The curry was delicious However, halfway through my dinner, I bit onto something verrrrrry hard. I immediately spat it out onto my hand and was absolutely APPALLED to discover it was a metal screw!!!! WTFFFFF?!!!! I immediately called them to notify them and the male employee named Matt said: "All we can do is offer you a refund." How about making sure something as dangerous as this doesn't happen again as it shouldn't have even happened in the first place. Imagine the hazard of swallowing that pointy metal screw! We came here for drinks before our dinner reservation across the street. Our group of 4 was seated right away even though it was Saturday night. Our waitress was super friendly and they had a good selection of cocktails, wine and beer. I tried the watermelon martini which was super delicious- not overly sweet. Contrary to what you might think, Chaise on Main isn't a furniture store where you can find an assortment of lounge chairs... it's actually an eatery in the Riley Park area of Vancouver with a gastropub concept. It does have a bit of a bar vibe going on... complete with a waitress that's a bit on the gruff side. We showed up early on Good Friday and decided to do a mix of brunch and bar food. First up was the Honey Garlic Chicken Wings ($14). They have a variety of wing flavours to choose from but these turned out pretty good... not overly sweet with a nice light crispness to the exterior. The Seafood Benedict ($14) comes with crab and shrimp and is served on a toasted English muffin with wonderfully made hash brown potatoes and a small bowl of fruit. I like that they ask how you want your poached eggs - I asked for soft poached and the yolks were perfectly runny. Honestly, the food was pretty good here but, as I said earlier, the service was a bit meh... nothing overly bad but just little things that rang out in my head (ie. the way the waitress casually tossed the coasters on the table, the tone of her voice which sounded like she was just going through the motions, etc...). read more

June 2018 update.. Okay! it a pub! Looks like many other pubs...on the surface, just a pub.... But this joint has a big secret... The secret is the 'specials menu' today it is the lamb meat balls! I am telling you this is not pub food!! This is Westside, West Van, Alberni Street.... The presentation, aroma, flavour, spice notes, after taste, all amazing, and just enough delicious Indian influence to suggest we are somewhere close to an Indian enclave, flavours are close, the 'hood' is close!. Four-season (sunny, hail, rain, cold) on Sunday morning, we went out for brunch. It's another causal restaurant on Main Street, it's clean and cozy inside, moderate interior, reasonable price and average service. We ordered general dishes and coffee for brunch: Hams and 2 eggs with brown toast - Few thin slices of ham and 2 egg, just standard. Turkey sausage with French toast - turkey sausage wasn't taste good and French toast a bit too soft. Seafood Omelets - not much seafood but taste ok. Took family here twice (once for dinner and once for lunch) but not sure we will give it another go. Food leaves much to be desired. Sticking to standard pub fare (burgers, sandwhiches, anything fried) is your best bet as the salad, flatbread and pasta dishes were bland and even less appetizing to look at. My suggestion is to simply stick to liquid lunches and enjoy the many TVs or patio when the weather allows. Also, the staff was kind and attentive which made up for the lackluster food. read more

I would say I am a regular at Chaise Lounge because I always find their food and service consistent. This little gem is located on Main Street between 28th and 29th Ave. It surprises me how many people don't know about this great restaurant. Another bonus to this great location is the fact they have their own parking lot!! The ambiance at Chaise is dressy casual and relax with dim lighting. Definitely on the romantic side but because of its popularity it can get a bit noisy. I have been here on "date night" a few times and it's always a good option. There are both high tables and booths and a bar and quiet corners you can ask to get tucked into for those romantic dates. The booths are comfy black "leather" the chairs and what not are wood, with wood floors. Service is always spot on and friendly and there always drink specials. The wine list is pretty good as well. For their menu, I almost always order their Spanakopita as an appetizer. For a non Greek restaurant it's quite tasty. For dinner, I often order their Greek salad with chicken or the quinoa chicken wrap. Always good! They have vegetarian options which are great and there is always a seasonal specials menu as well. I have never come to Chaise and let's Unsatisfied. They also serve a tasty brunch, but I think it's weekends only. Must go! read more

Can you be sophisticated while scarfing down mac and cheese? Mais oui! And I'll take a bad ass burger done medium, appreciate being asked! And wait, is that-- no -- OMG, is that a housemade pickle on top? Next time, I'm asking for that times two! With crunchy fries served up with "damn near perfect" mayo -that's what their menu describes it as, I was one fully bellied betsy! If I could send one bit of improvement to the chef, I could have used a bit more tang in my mayo, but everything else - spot on. For atmosphere, price, service and a pimms-perfect-cup, I'll come out of my way to satisfy carb cravings. Awesome fat wedge of cucumber in my cup too - thanks for that crunchy touch! PS. Fully bellied betsy here definitely had to share plates. The mac and cheese is rich and dense, split for two along with a half of burger were the absolute perfect amount of food! PPS. A group of us ladies went there after the baseball game last night because we love Main Street! I usually love this place and recommended it 2 our group. I like the selection of appies: wings, freshly cut home made fries, crèviche, salads are great and burgers just perfect. Drink selection are endless! Service on the good end. To be its a generally good place. & will give it 4 stars bc it's my favourite place to recommend on main and it's comforting! One evening the atmosphere has changed into a night club atmosphere on Granville. Music too loud I felt I was screaming. There is no management/staff taking responsibility for the safety & well being of other patrons. This is a complete fail when you don't feel safe eating there. We were unfortunate to sit next to total douchebags! They were 25-30 year old men eating, yelling, swearing, throwing food, stealing flowers from our table, broke a ton of glasses & food left all over the floor. One even smashed his hand at the window at us right when he left. I'm not kidding! I am not proud of the way some men behave in public. Utterly disgusting behaviours and hindsight being 20/20 I would of left and taken our business elsewhere. Perhaps businesses value making money from guys who are drinking all night over those who are quietly sitting and witnessing all this? Where is the responsibility in drawing the line here with stepping up to do & say something here. It's not just about doing business but ensuring a safe environment for all patrons when they feel harassed. No matter how good the food or atmosphere is this is no longer an enjoyable and acceptable experience. One of my girl friend can only get out once every few months ( because of kids) and this was the night. We do the baseball game once a year. This really ruined our evening and was upsetting for us. I stopped in here for brunch today with some girlfriends. The restaurant is small but has a nice unique feel to it, we really wanted to sink our lazy asses into a booth but unfortunately they were all occupied by seniors and we got stuck at the highchairs in the lounge. 2 of us got the eggs benedict B.A.T (Bacon, Avocado, Tomato) and our friend got chicken strips. I got my benny without meat and they actually offered to substitute something (a nice change consider I always end up paying for meat which I don't eat and opt out of and then I get charged for any substitutions) so I opted to add feta cheese which was no extra cost. Our coffee tasted only moderately fresh but still had nice flavor. All our food was good and the prices were reasonable. Although the food was good I had higher hopes, potatoes tastes a bit stale, avocado had a lot of brown in it and the hollandaise coulda used a little more of a citrus-sy kick! The staff were friendly and attentive and everyone there other then us seemed like regulars so they must be doing something right! read more

Was here yesterday for brunch. It was another great hot summer-like day and came across here because I was in the hood and they have a patio. The awning wasn't extended the entire way so there was actually no shade at my table, but unbeknownst to me, it can be extended!! The server was nice enough to do it :) Anyway I had the steak and eggs which comes with hash browns, toast, and fruit. I wanted my steak medium rare, but it probably came out medium at best, probably more like medium well. But I find it's kind of expected when I order steak from a pub or lounge. I do have a say it's quite a hefty piece of meat! The rest of the meal was alright, nothing too special imho. Overall, I would rate the food a 3/5. With so many other great food options nearby, a 3 was even a little generous. But the patio and service for this experience gets it another star! read more

We ended up here on a Wendesday after a rigorous, after work, pitch n' putt work out at QE Park. We were pleasantly surprised that it was Wing Wednesday at Chaise! We ended up getting 52 wings and an order of their ceviche. This places knows how to do wings! Crispy and not overly saucy with just the right amount of kick. My favourites were definitely the hot wings, Thai, and lime salt and pepper. The blue cheese dip was also well worth the $0.75. I was particularly blown away by their ceviche. Very fresh, with a side of guacamole and a light horseradish cream sauce on the side. It comes with tortilla chips, but definitely ask for a bit more as you won't be able to stop yourself. The only downside was that the first batch of wings were a bit on the luke warm side. Which was probably due to how crazy busy the place was at the moment. Our second batch was definitly better and piping hot. Our server was awesome even though we could tell she was being pulled in a million directions. Best part was that it came to just over $20 a person. And we were stuffed! read more

But identical to the reason I stopped going before happened again tonight. Day old food served warmed on the outside and cold on the inside. I didn't complain during the meal. Why you ask. Well. I didn't want the meat cooked a third time in a microwave or convection oven. It really isn't necessary for a buck and a half to loose a customer a second time. Charging five bucks for yesterday's food served improperly. Shame on you. Me being stupid enough to think management would change. Shame on me. Alas. Never again. My friend just moved into the neighborhood so this has become her go to place. So we decided to check it out. Great location, very cute and modern place. It was super busy but we were able to find a table. A mix of people makes this place fun and interesting! We ordered beers and wings (none for me) but they have good flavors and my friends really enjoyed them. I got the mac and cheese and it was large and super creamy (my friend and I easily split it). The place was packed and our waitress was constantly on the go. Not the best service but it was incredibly busy! We will definitely come back! read more

It was due to one of the first ever Vancouver Yelp events by Crystal H that we ever found Chaise Lounge and we've kept coming back. The menu is fairly diverse with a few options for people with dietary restrictions like the Steak Bits. The meat was perfectly grilled and even better with a side salad. The place just has a nice, casual classy feel and the food reflects the decor, thoughtful and with respect to keeping it fresh. Some of the items are better than others. i.e. the Catfish Po-boy was reportedly less than impressive, falling short in both flavour and character. The salad was outstanding with goat cheese & fig and served with a delicious (gluten free) dressing on the side. The corned beef sandwich looked delicious, served as a panini. The bar is now in a separate room, as they've expanded to the north, removing a wall but the flow into the new room is very balanced, in keeping with the same decor. Our server was friendly, uber helpful, tolerant & accommodating. Chaise will continue to be one of our local favourites. I will say I come here often as I live in the neighborhood and I love to support local businesses however I am always appalled at how horrible the service is. I am always asking for another drink, hardly ever does the server ask if I would like another one, never any quality checks on the food, always have to ask for the bill, and so on. It blows my mind as you are in the hospitality industry to make money, yet they are never trying to build their sales. I will also say that the majority of them walk around as if they hate their jobs, and if that is the case then quit. We spend our hard earned money at your establishment and get treated like absolute garbage. Paris and Victoria are the exception, as they are both super lovely and great servers.
