This place was recommended by our hotel. The service by Reece was exceptional. He was very personable and was there when we needed him and gone when we did not. For starters, the Margaritas did not skimp on the tequila, making them a tasty drink. The dinner salad was generous and crispy. The French onion soup was very rich with gooey, melted cheese. I had the fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp. The sauce was very rich, unlike most Alfredos which are usually rather bland. The shrimp were huge and sweet. My husband had the flat iron steak which was well-marbled with a delicious flavor. No room for dessert. We will definitely return here on our next trip through. read more

I had the sirloin with green beans, and French fries to go and ate in my motel room - the food was sooo good and flavorful. Steak was very tender. I wish I was able to dine in but had to get my food to go. I will try this place again the next time I am in town with my family. I highly recommend this place. The Den is a favorite dinner place with friends while on a fishing trip in Dillon. My first Huckleberry Mule is always there. Unusual appetizers that taste great and plenty to choose from for entree. Very good steak and pizza house. Kids loved their pizzas and noodles and the husband and I enjoyed a delicious spinach and steak salad. It was a short wait at prime dinner time but the food did take a little while to come out. Definitely worth stopping in for a bite to eat. Oh and the Moscow mule was on point! read more

After driving through most of Montana, on a road trip, looking for a great steak, we came here based on the recommendation of the hotel clerk. Both the food and the service were terrific. Prices were decent compared to other steakhouses we had looked at. This review is coming from a picky eater who cooks a lot at home because most restaurants serve mediocre food. Our steaks were tender and well seasoned. The sides were very good. People at the next table were also raving about their food. Recommend it highly. read more

Went to Dillon on a whim.. Decided to try the Lion's Den for an early dinner. Felt the menu was limited, unless you are into steak ( thus a steak house). Defaulted to pizza! The pizza showed to the table, initially I thought ooo looks good. Lots of fresh looking toppings. However, when we dug in we we're met with the funky combination of a very burnt crust and raw dough under all those beautiful toppings. It was a bummer. On the positive side.... I had also ordered a ceaser salad, it was good. Our waitress was super nice.. Don't think we will be stopping in again. read more

Stopped on a cross country round trip with two friends. The Den had good reviews on here, so we decided to try it. Great food. I had the French dip, and it is the best I have ever had. Nice fresh bun, and great tasting prime rib, and lots of it on the bun. Friends had the chicken fried steak, and hamburger steak, and they liked both of them. We each had a desert, and the cheesecake was huge. Three meals and desert for $69. Worth every cent. Wish we were coming back through the area on the return part of the trip. read more

Popular local casual dining. Noisy vibe. Staff was good but a little stressed and abrupt. We wanted to relax and take our time; apparently didn't work for our server. Specifically asked for a Tangueray gimlet but only if it could be made with Roses lime. Was told sure and then it came with simple syrup instead. Server never came back so my husband took it back to the bartender who argued about how to make one. Showed him the recipe on the back of the Roses bottle and that took care of it. Steaks were very tender and well prepared. So a mixed bag but we would go back. Just reminds me what a separator service can be. read more

PRIME RIB SUNDAY ONLY. This place is about 4.5 stars. For 35 bucks you get a filet, soup, potatoes, mixed vegetables, and a roll. The filet was a 5. The veggies a 5. The soup a 3.5. Potatoes 4. Roll was good too. Surprising that you can get a slice of meat this good out here. read more

Environment is pretty nice, quiet and friendly. Staff is very kind, helpful, and welcoming. Not a large or diverse menu, but has great options. The food is good, but it doesnt matter what dish it is, its insanely oily. Especially warming it up the next day, there is almost 1/4 full of oil in the bottom of the box. I used to eat here all the time when I lived in Dillon. Never have I experienced the terrible and lack there of service, especially with the limited amount of patrons that were there. I even went out back to get air and saw that nobody was seated there - so imagine my surprise when they gave me the excuse of a 'big order' before ours was placed as to why the table next to us was through their salad, main course, and being offered dessert before we were even close to being served our main course. And yes, our tables ordered at the exact same time and they had two more people seated with them. I should also mention, I had eaten here two days prior with MANY more people in the bar and dining room so I just couldn't accept the staff's reasoning for our long wait. Sadly my family and I will not be returning here and they've lost a customer for life. read more

I checked out the reviews for the Lion's Den and we were excited to try the prime rib. Sadly the oven was out of service, so no prime rib for my belly. We "settled" for the 16oz ribeye. The steaks were expertly cooked and arrived quickly. I was slightly disappointed that they were not more flavorful and reached for the salt more times than I would like to admit. The gravy on my mashed potatoes was exactly what I want in my mouth when I ask for gravy. Rich, delicious and hearty. On our second visit my companion had the steak alfredo and I got to have my prime rib. "That alfredo was even better the second day," my companion said a day after our visit. "It seemed like it got better!" Plenty of savory sauce and perfectly cooked steak. My prime rib was tender and juicy. It was delicious, but I'm not sure I'd try it again. It was very flavorful, but similar to an onion soup mix. These ladies are hustling here - rushing from table to table. Service was friendly and prompt. We ate here twice during our 8 day stay in Dillon and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. read more

Do yourself a solid. Get their famous french dip sandwich. While the price-tag may initially make you wanna run for the hills, take it from me that is a sandwich only in name. They give you a thick cut of prime rib so tender it practically melts in your mouth, needs no additions (the cheese ad onion WAS on point though) and laughs at the notion of fitting on the roll it comes on. Could easily be shared by two with smaller appetites, Cuz mines as big as they come and I couldn't finish it in one sitting. It didn't make it past that day though, because I kept thinking about how damn good it was and my inner fat boy took over. read more

Probably the worst restaurant service I have experienced. Went to Mother's Day brunch and waited over an hour for breakfast to show up. Other tables were also complaining. Had to chase down the manager several times just to get drinks and eventually our food. Never actually had a real waitperson. Looked like they were serving their friends first and letting everyone else just sit and wait. Very disappointing. read more
