Mac's Last Cast is a nice local bar and restaurant. I've had decent service every time I have visited. There are some good local brews and I mostly stick to them. The food is decent but not special, which is surprising to me because on the lower floor they have a nice restaurant. It's worth a visit if you're in Dillon. read more

OVERPRICED "new" menu. I had a bunless Berger with a side salad. The patty was a thin, hard miniature Frisdbee. They forgot my salad and I had to ask twice. Son had the mushroom Swiss burger with a side salad- that we had to ask for. Husband got the fish-n-chip, as they were out of 2 other items he wanted. We had a total of 4 beers and I had a single shot G&T. Our total ticket was $96!!!!!! With tip I was super dumbfounded! 2 burgers from frozen patties with no seasoning, one without a bun (oh, and I had to ask twice for a knife so could eat it), frozen fish, and a few drinks! Overpriced for a place where patrons just ask for utensils and their salads 2 times. Ambiance is just a typical bar with food. No Service just excuses, Lizzie the Dizzy bartender couldn't comprehend a simple order, cheeseburger w/ Swiss, not well done!! She proceeds to place the order for a burger with cheddar cheese, although the ticket did say medium, the burger was well done!! Not, Done Well, but overcooked. Then she lets my beverage glass go empty, she hasn't been by to check if I needed anything else to drink with my meal, I had to chase her down at the bar while she's at the other end talking to a guy, maybe her boyfriend, I don't know. This was my lunch break and I only have enough time for them to get it right the first time, it's a simple thing. So she tells me that she would comp the meal, well, when I asked for the ticket she's charging me the full amount, I asked her about the comp you said you were going to provide for the screw up both you and the kitchen did she said, oh, you said that it was still okay,?? I spent 10 years working restaurant service and I'm constantly amazed at the current employee base. Can't cook, can't listen or take a simple order, there were only 3 other people there when I walked in, I know that should have been my sign, but Pete's sake, this is ridiculous. We eat here quite a lot. It's generally good food and we really love the pizza. The pulled pork nachos used to be one of my favorites, but they haven't been the same the last couple times. The pork doesn't taste like it used to. It's still a huge plate with plenty of other toppings, but I wish they were like they used to be. read more

I got the chicken sandwich as I saw it had positive reviews, but it was so dry no amount of mayonnaise could save it. We ordered IPAs but they were the most Bud Light looking and tasting IPAs ever. Best spot in town for a burger and beers after fishing the Beaverhead. Rachel is the hardest working bartender in Montana and was very friendly and attentative. Katie is a sweetheart who made us feel like locals. The regular customers are very welcoming and what isn't there to love about 16 Oz Kokanee beers?! After sampling the menu for a few days I recommend sticking to simple bar food like burgers and fries. The food won't knock your socks off but the service and prices get an A+. read more

Second time coming here, was dissapointed again. Ordered the halibut and once again it was not available. The karoake upstairs was god awful to listen to. Our waitress, bella p, was not friendly. We did not recieve extra plates for our appetizer, therefore crumbs and such had no where to fall but on the table. We did not recieve extra napkins. Charged for doubles on single cocktails. My guest and I asked that our individual bills and credit card receipts be amended. Wait staff and the bartender claim that they can't fix this and we have to pay the bill and they will give us free drink coins. This is twice in a week I have been charged for staff errors, first on food and now on cocktails. I have been coming here for nearly three years and will not return. Management train your staff on your point of sales system and how to void. You are ripping off customers. read more

Show up after a float trip and shoot the shit with the other fishermen who hit this local watering hole every night after a day on the river. Great local bar with local brews. The steamed clams are amazingly good. I have tasted steamed clams from all over the US, including Ivar's in Seattle, the old Papa's in Lake Charles, LA, the Blue Fin in Waimea, Hawaii and numerous others. These are among the best! read more

After contemplating where to eat on Sunday evening we finally decided to eat at Macs Last Cast. To say that we regretted it almost instantly is putting it mildly. The service was less than mediocre. We came in as a table of 8 and were the only people in the bar besides three patrons bellied up. We ordered appetizers and main courses and after waiting over an hour for our food we complained to the waiter who told us "sorry they only have one oven". I eventually got my appetizer AFTER my main course...along with the rest of our group everyone of us mentioned something about the wait and asked why our food was coming out so sporadically. The only thing done was he comped our cheese sticks and only because we did not eat them. I could have been more inclined to suffer through one of the most painful experiences I have had if the food was worth it...which it definitely WAS NOT!! I wouldnt have even given them one star!!!
