I have been very impressed with update of this restaurant. I have had the sirloin and the chicken piccata which were both delicious. My dishes came with a house salad, mashed potatoes and carrots. My potatoes were not hot when my meal was served. However, my server graciously heated them and thanked me for telling her. The desserts are scrumptious; I recommend the bread pudding. Absolutely shitty! After a week of staying in this goat roping town, I finally decided to got out for a real meal. Well after all the yelp reviews I tried this place. Here we go. The place was pretty cool. I sat at the bar an it was ok. Fuck it, let's get to the point, I ordered a medium rare prime rib. I got it 45 minutes later, it was kinda busy for a goat shit town on a Friday night. I started with the mashed taters and gravy. Loved them as they left the skins on. I cut into the prime rib and it was, well burnt if you order a medium rare. I finished my beer and asked for the bill. I paid it and when I left the bartender finally asked how it was. I stated I wouldn't feed this crap to my dog, which I didn't. She got all pissy with me and said why didn't you say something when I brought it, well I said I hadn't cut into it and tried it as soon as you threw it on the bar. While working in Dillon I tried to sample a few of the local restaurants. I visited the Lion's Den a few times. The food was not spectacular and quite frankly over priced for the area. The serving sizes were small for the price. The service was adequate, sometimes slow and nonexistant. The facility is nice. Tons of larges screen tv's with the game playing (maybe thats why the prices are so high). All in all not a bad place to grab a beverage and a quick bite but dont expect top notch food at a good price. read more

Ordered chicken fried streak and I just do not eating steak that is chewy. Did my best to finish it off. The hashbrowns I ordered as a side were really good. The reason I gave this such a poor review is the service. As you read reviews for this place, you should start to see common trends. I noticed this prior to my experience and still went. The service is terrible here. For one, I knew something was off when I was given the pitcher of water to serve myself. Next, I only saw my waitress when she served me my food. Then, I saw a family leave and when one of the waitresses went to clean up, she handed the tip to what must have been the serving waitress. I heard hear say plainly, "Wow, I'm surprised" as if she didnt expect them to tip. I wish I knew the name of my waitress otherwise I would include. She was the one with long black hair in a ponytail. Traveling through Dillon a regular basis, I find the Lion's Den to be one of the best places to dine out in and have an adult beverage! We stopped here while in Dillon in order to watch a game and grab some dinner. The bar had ample seating and plenty of nice TVs. Service was speedy and friendly; the waitress recommended some local beers. The food was adequate but frankly not great. We ate sandwiches and salads so perhaps the dinner menu is better. I remember the Lions Den as being "the place" to eat so I was extremely disappointed to find our meal very sub par. The ahi tuna appetizer was served with the meal and despite the wasabi sauce promised in the menu there was none to be found. And the taste? Fishy .... The "steak" on my salad was listed at be medium rare and it was more like jerky and sparse at that. Prime Rib was cold, vegetables were cold, mashed potatoes were good. Didn't get our salads until after our entrees were served. Waitress couldn't get our salad dressing correct. Ordered a 2nd glass of wine to have with my meal and didn't get it until after I was done with my meal. Tried to get change for a 20 for the tip (we were using a gift card) and couldn't get any change at the bar or at the cashier. Ended up leaving a much larger tip than was deserved. I live in Dillon and The Lions den has been one of our "go to" places, but I took my brothers there on Thursday night, the service was appalling, the waitress asked my sister in law what kind of Vodka she wanted in her Margarita and then had to send it back for salt and a margarita glass, brother ordered a miller high life, got miller lite. The pizza came out literally cold, the cheese was not melted at all, toppings were cold and not cooked, basically not edible, our fault for not saying something, but I tried when our "waitress" came back, I started to tell her that the pizza was cold, as soon as I started talking, she walked away! Tried several times to say something but to no avail. Very disappointed to take people there and have it be subpar. If our waitress was new, then she definitely needs to spend some time with another server so she knows her bar drinks and the menu, she did not mention the specials or the soup. read more

The DEN in Dillon is a must stop. The atmosphere is great, Steve Miller Band just under the radar in the background noise. The Walleye and prime rib are stars. The staff is well trained, always noticing what needs attention. The beer, wine and booze lists are comprehensive, and the staff knows the choices. We were those teachers no one of helicopter parentage wanted to take because we had exacting standards. My grandmother would have been proud of the bread pudding. read more

We dined at the Den last Thursday while traveling. I was impressed with this restaurant. JaAnna provided outstanding service. The meal was amazing! I had the sirloin steak which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The soup was exceptional. The hot rolls was light and fluffy. Another person ordered the prawns which were fantastic. From the service to the food, we were pleased with the entire meal. I would definitely eat there again if it was closer. read more

Now open for brunch on weekends. We went today and will be back. The service was lovely, coffee some of the best I've had for 2$. Prices range from 6$ for the fruit plate to 14$ for the steak and eggs. We ordered the breakfast loaf for 9$ . Very large portion of sausage and bacon patty on hash browns topped with two basted eggs and smothered in house made sausage gravy. Don't worry there are much healthier options. Delicious! Stopped here before, and was excited to stop here again with my husband on our way through. We were extremely disappointed this time. They used to have a bubbly waitress/bartender named Annie, and we found out she was no longer employed here. Our service with her last time was amazing and above all else, and this time we had terrible bar service and felt like we were being pushed out. Our server brought our check before our meal was finished, the steak fingers were chewy, our pizza was burnt, and our drinks had to be remade three times before they were acceptable. The manager explained that there are new owners now and they were happy to make things right with us, but I am sad that this place has gone downhill with these new owners and we felt very unwelcome. I feel sorry for the locals who have to deal with this failing daily. read more

Noting like the old Lion's Den - It is now just called "The Den" Food so, so, but many items are a la cart instead of being included with the meal like the old Lion's Den and can be pricey. In addition, watch what you order they have a habit of upgrading to a higher price item. They don't understand customer service - we had a gift card from the old Lion's Den and they would not honor it. They did say we could contact the old owers to redeem it, like we know who the old owers are. A five star place would do that or to make yourself 3 star at least provide the needed information. The menu is funny in that they offer huge cuts of prime rib, and if you want the smaller cut, it's called the "ladies portion."
