Our server said no because we apparently had to stay at a table in his section although there were many empty tables on the patio. He gave us only one other table option that was furthest away from the beach but fully shaded. Weird start to the meal! But, the salmon poke bowl was delicious as was the seasonal sangria. I had the fish tacos, which were very delicious and always get excited when they have an alternative to regular french fries, sweet potato fries! My husband had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and the seafood platter. They gave him tons of calamari! He said it was very good! for dessert we shared the peach cobbler, which is made with cornbread and was a very cool experience! It was absolutely delicious! Rolled into Tybee Island and headed straight to The Deck. We were greeted immediately by friendly staff and seated in a booth facing the beach - what a view! The server was over right away to the table and got our drink orders and was super helpful with the menu. Our food came out quick and accurately to the table. The Deck is perfect for a sunny day because it's located right on the beach. It was raining so unfortunately we sat inside which isn't as nice. I got the Fish of the Day which was a grouper. I loved the fish, grilled veggies, and rice. I just wish it wasn't covered in the "beurre blanc" because it's not a true beurre blanc. It almost certainly was a thinned out mayo which really detracted from the fish. Once I scraped it off, it was good. If I go back, I'd order without the sauce. read more

Cute beach bar with beach access and delicious New American fare. We wanted to find a restaurant where we can sit next to the beach and watch shore birds. The Deck was the only restaurant that was open at the time, so we went on a whim. Ambiance: Interior is what you'd expect for a beach bar. Both inside and patio seating with umbrellas and private beach access. It's on the property of a hotel and the main entrance was a bit hard to find. There were signs pointing to restaurant parking but that was also a bit confusing. Food: It's usually seafood or Southern comfort food in the area, but The Deck had some creative items. I had smoked tempeh tacos and my friend had chicken quesadilla. We both loved our entrees. The only thing I didn't enjoy was that the corn tortillas tore easily, so it was a delicious, but crumbly mess. Other perks: Our server Eli was a hoot! The tacos used to come with Mahi, but when I asked this time what fish it was, they said something like cod. Who comes to the beach for cod tacos?! Disgusting. Now that I'm home, I feel very sick. My son's fried seafood platter was a clump of breading with little substance. It was expensive and poor quality. Tell Prince to get it together. Went to the deck on a monday in july around 4pm and were seated immediately. Our server was SOOOO kind, I wish I could remember his name. But the ambience inside was fine, they had indoor and outdoor seating. I got the shrimp platter and she got the chicken quesadilla, both were pretty good! I would definitely go back here! The only "bad" thing I will say about this restaurant is when we were leaving the restaurant we stopped to go to the restroom; and there was a young female sever leaving the bathroom stall when we walked in with her toast tablet (device used to take guests orders) on her person/ in her hand which I found kind of unsanitary. read more

First off the mere location and proximity to the ocean are worth a visit. You really can't get any better, more beautiful views. It's always a little uncomfortable going to a restaurant alone and the hostess really did nothing to help alleviate that in determining the seating arrangement. I basically had to ask her if I could sit somewhere a little more comfortable. She seemed put off with that, even though the patio was only about 1/4 full. Finally being seated, I met my waitress who was very nice throughout the remainder of my visit. I started with a virgin pinacolada (which was absolutely amazing)! For dinner I chose Fish n Chips - They were okay - Nothing spectacular, one piece of fish (which was good) and lukewarm fries. The coleslaw was very delicious. All in all, would I return? Yes, if for the view alone, but under different circumstances ~ Perhaps with a few friends to help gauge if the experience was any more inviting. read more

While watching our little niece and nephew, my boyfriend and I decided to go to The Deck to try a spot near the water. We ended up dining inside, but could still see the ocean over the dunes through the windows which was nice. They have a nice patio for outdoor dining. First of all, huge shout out to the employees. The hostess was really sweet and brought us booster seats for the kiddos even when I wasn't sure what they needed (I don't have kids of my own and didn't think to ask in advance.) Our server was also amazing and offered to put the kids' meals in first so they could be ready quickly to feed the little ones. He even offered to mix pink lemonade with water for my niece when she asked for juice which I appreciated and she was happy with. So definitely a friendly spot for kids! I chose to order their poke bowl and my boyfriend got the fried shrimp meal. We got a burger and chicken tenders for the kids so they could share back and forth. They were huge portions so the kids had leftovers. I also had leftovers from my poke bowl which was really tasty. My boyfriend liked his fried shrimp meal and I tasted his shrimp and thought it was good also. It's kind of weird to get to this place because it's behind a hotel/condo and next to the pool. Once you get there you have the option of inside or outside and of course I chose the beach view this time. I ordered my 15th fish and chips on the trip and they were really good. I had a slushy drink too which is needed in the heat. The staff was friendly and kept checking on us. If you can find parking I recommend coming here. read more

I don't know what his official title is, but in my heart he's the Supreme Ruler of Hospitality, Keeper of the Patio, and Bringer of Endless Ranch Cups. This man didn't just serve us--he orchestrated a dining experience. Napkins? Folded like they were blessed by Poseidon himself. Drink refills? Delivered faster than Amazon Prime on steroids. Food recommendations? Spot-on, like he had a psychic connection to my stomach. At one point, I think Eli single-handedly kept a seagull from stealing my fish tacos just by giving it the look. The bird backed off. Respect. I've had good servers before, but Prince Eli is different. This dude should have his own Food Network show called Dine Like Royalty. The food and the views from the deck are on point here! Great menu to choose from for everyone who's feeling something American, or seafood, or sandwiches. My friends really loved the peel and eat shrimp. They were really impressed with the flavor of butter and Tabasco sauce the shrimp had. My poke bowl tasted good. I liked how everything in it came together with the soy sauce it was served with. It was a very simple kind of poke bowl. It's not like an item you would order off of a poke bowl menu with a variety of sauces and other ingredients at a poke place. The nori was thawed at the right temperature and I liked how thinly sliced the fresh jalapeños were, for just a little bit of spice. I was also pleased with how small the plate was when it came out. It looked bigger in the photos I saw of it than it actually is. Everyone is right about the views. Come here at just before sunset and it is beautiful to see over the horizon. They have a long dock that goes out to the beach from the porch too. Our server was very nice and pleasant to talk to. She was attentive, but not overly attentive. The decor inside is modern and clean. There is a really cool mural of an octopus on the wall as you walk in, which gives it that trendy vibe. read more

The service was bad. 2 seating requests to change tables and to slide an umbrella to block direct sun in your face was denied. Was told the ran out of turkey for a sandwich. It was Friday on a busy holiday weekend at 1pm! Then a wait of 25 minutes for a drink. The waiter came by 3x, realizing he forgot them and said they were "being made now." You must pay and fill out the CC transaction at the table on a tablet with your server standing directly in front of you. Only a 2-3 stars because of the very poor service. read more

The fries were seasoned to perfection and not quite salty!! Lastly, I wanted to try to peach cobbler which was AMAZING!! I recommend carefully eating as the bottom is cool and thus causing the ice cream to melt faster than expected (not complaints from me as it reached the bottom of the warm cake eventually). I highly recommend be seated outdoors if you can. The breeze was lovely and there was an ample amount of shade there. We fully enjoyed ourselves here. Just had lunch here for the first time - arrived at 1215ish and it wasn't too crowded, but by 1245 it was packed. Sat with our pup on the outside deck and all the servers were very friendly towards him. Our food came out very quick, within 10 minutes of ordering, which was great. I got the shrimp burger which has a unique consistency that I wasn't expecting - it was thick, and the pineapple on top was a good feature. My wife got the Fried Green Tomato sandwich - she didn't care for it as they have a seasoning on the breading that is different from other FGTs we have had around Savannah, but I thought it was plenty good, and it comes with a tasty bacon jam. After devastatingly missing our reservation at The Grey because of traffic on the bridge, I remember my Uber driver recommended The Deck so our group turned around and headed their for dinner. We opted to sit on the deck and first grabbed drinks at the bar before getting seated. They were able to easily accommodate our group of 9 which was nice and our server was great. I enjoyed my piña colada but the tap water left a lot to be desired. I shared an order of oysters with a friend that were much bigger than what I'm used to on the west coast and really delicious. After hearing the specials for the night, I opted for the blackened chicken burger and fries. All of our food came out rather quickly and while I enjoyed the burger, the bacon jam overwhelmed the blackened chicken flavor. Don't get me wrong, I love bacon jam, but I was hoping for a little more spice and the flavors weren't balanced enough for me. The fries were 5/5. I'd come back if I were on the island again. The location is great, you can't beat the views and the service was good. I'd probably just hop around the menu a bit to find something for me. read more
