Went here for Memorial Day weekend... Yes, my wait time was extensive and the service was subpar- however I don't want that to reflect a normal weekend of someone going here. Furthermore, between the hostess named Joi and the manager. They made everything perfect. Let's start with the parking, if the garage is full, you're going to have to park along 43rd St., and there are not a lot of parking spots so just be prepared to walk. The VIBE is beautifullllllllllll baby! I will absolutely say I am proud of Virginia Beach for this one. I am born and raised here and this is more of a vibe you would find at a resort in the Caribbean or somewhere like that. So this is very nice to say that we have. I ordered a Mai Tai, & ended up getting the broiled seafood platter. The food was amazingly cooked! You cannot substitute anything & afterwards I'm glad I didn't because it was all great. If you are a water baby, then you can understand how the vibe is just everything that it should be. Hopefully the pictures and videos to speak to your soul. I will definitely find my way back! There are quite a few negative reviews before this one... I would potentially say they were true back then, but they have done a complete revamp of the area, their staff and management! Give them a shot

The food was amazing and the service was top tier. There was a bunch of bees roaming around and they accommodated us to fix the issue. The place is very well cleaned and the seating is more than enough. Connor our waiter had amazing customer service and asked us multiple times during our meal if we needed anything else, so thank you! Overall, great experience, wonderful vibes, and amazing atmosphere right on the beach!

I was super excited to go to this place because it just opened and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a live DJ and the atmosphere was great right on the beach. The menu isn't big and it's a little pricey, but food was good and drinks were good too. Overall, I thought the place was pretty cute and definitely trendy. Also if you are in the mood, The wife says the deserts are great

Best seat in the house

Staff was on spot and on top of our table. Kyle W , that manager was excellent and sat us in the best seat of the house next to the DJ for good vibes. Seafood boils were fresh and delicious. Drinks were great.

Food

The food and service was excellent. Everyone was kind and we enjoyed the view from the swing seat.

Horrible service. Took over 45 minutes to get our food and had to get the busboy to get us a refill on water after 30 mins waiting.

We loved the food at Repeal Bourbons and Burgers !…read more We started off with drinks which were yummy and delicious. I had the Plymouth Rock because I love Gin and it was refreshingly sweet. My husband had the Margarita on the Rocks which I was not a fan of. I did not like the mix they used to make thins drink. My son also tasted it and agreed with my opinion. The lettuce wraps were really good. My daughter in law and I both had the CALIFORNICATION burger, my husband had the CLASSIC burger, my son had the CAPONE Burger and everyone was really happy! All burgers were properly cooked and delicious. The fries were good, nothing special to write about. My husband had the fries with bacon dust and they were very sweet. He wasn't a fan but I thought they were delicious!

Sat in a booth inside since it was a little warm outside. Bomb MI was good. It had black garlic sesame aioli, kimchi, pork belly, sunny side egg, cucumber on a sesame seed bun. The Southside was alright. It is bombay gin, St. Germaine, Jack Rudy small-batch tonic, and soda. Would have given this place a 4/5 if not for the crappy service. The rude guy working the bar was neither friendly or pleasant. There were no napkins when food was served. I stood up and politely asked for some. I found some below the register and, since the guy was busy prepping drinks, I decided to get them myself. He then said, "okay do my job," which was unnecessary and rude. Though the other waiter was friendlier, service was overall bad.

Shout out to Sky Bar for bringing the igloo culture to Virginia Beach!…read moreNow if we could just keep this trend going in Spring/Summer... May I recommend a possible bungalow rental, just like your igloos? Can you tell Summer is on my mind? Sky Bar is one of my favorite places to go. I love the trendy, upscale atmosphere, but they still keep you grounded with their prices being fair & reasonable. They usually also have happy hour, when Sky Bar is actually Sky Bar, not their homemade winter wonderland. I'm going to highlight their igloos though, only because it's something seasonal, and new. You get an igloo reserved for up to 4 of your closes friends, and the igloo comes with: -personal server -decorated, social-distanced space -two heaters -blankets you can take home -waters -and honestly so many picture perfect opportunities. The food on the menu was also amazing, and I am all about experience, so I would highly recommend the s'mores kit. It makes the atmosphere seem more bonded, it's a warm winter night where you are able to do this, and the s'mores kit just set the tone to be a little more perfect. They have their signature drinks, or regular drinks to order just like a bar as well. They also do offer non-alcoholic beverages if anyone was wondering, wish also makes it kid-friendly! Nothing in the igloo was breakable either, which was nice not to worry about. I wish there was a little more space, to maybe have up to 5-6 people. Either way, I loved it. I loved the experience, and I can't wait for next Winter to do this again! And that says a lot, because if you know me, I hate the cold. But I will face Winter if I know I'm going here!

I also tried to order a French 1605, and while they didn't end up having all the ingredients, the bartender was still completely game to make something off-menu and clearly knew their spirits well. Always appreciate a bartender who actually understands balance and flavor instead of just reading recipes off a card. We also ordered the deviled quail eggs, bulgogi lettuce wraps, and potstickers. Everything was good, though our other table ended up being ready way faster than expected, so we had to take most of it to go. One small PSA: the menu calls them "jumbo" quail eggs, but quail eggs are tiny creatures of nature to begin with, so don't walk in expecting chicken egg-sized deviled eggs.

Drinks were delivered very fast by the bartender. 2nd rounds were offered prior to the drinks being empty which shows good serving habits. The serving portions were very plentiful and played very well on the brunch theme! Burger was cooked medium well but still very juicy with a delicious mayo based sauce. The menu always feels creative and elevated while still being approachable, and the atmosphere is one of my favorites for a night out with friends. We started with the buttermilk fried shrimp served with cocktail aioli and VA hydro bibb lettuce, and they were incredible. Super crispy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor without feeling heavy. The aioli added the perfect little kick, and it was one of those appetizers everyone keeps reaching back for. For my dinner, I ordered the scallops, which were absolutely the star of the night for me. The orange gochugaru butter basted scallops were cooked perfectly and paired with orecchiette pasta, lemon, mint, and basil ricotta, sautéed greens with garlic and pine nuts, crispy mint, and Calabrian chili oil. There was so much going on in the best way possible. It was bright, fresh, spicy, rich, and balanced all at once. Every bite was ridiculously good. My friend got the half chicken with roasted red potatoes, Calabrian chili Brussels sprouts, smoked tomato chimichurri, hot honey celery root puree, and rosemary. I stole a few bites and immediately understood why he was obsessed with it. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the sides complemented it perfectly. I also had a glass of the Cierelli Rosso Montepulciano, which paired so well with dinner. One thing I especially love is that they literally have a "girl dinner" section on the menu, which feels very fitting for the vibe here. Such a fun touch. Arrived around 6:30 and were able to get a table but it filled up fast. Host noted we were probably new bc Tuesdays were usually familiar faces; love to hear that locals love a place too! We ordered the Buffalo Mushrooms as a starter and let me tell you, it's worth the hype. The crunch on these things is legendary. The sauce is a little spicy but it won't blow your palate out. Also the portion is enormous. We wanted to save our appetite for our mains but just kept eating them. We got the monthly special burger which was the kimchi burger with Brussels sprouts on the side and a wagyu meatball sub with fries. Dear lord that burger! I am trying to remember another burger that I loved this much. The kimchi was cooked down into a bit of a compote which melded with the cheese and gochujang perfectly, the patties were crispy as hell! The bun added a perfect sweetness. I told the server it was "stupid". I almost cried. This can't even capture just how good the food was. I'm sorry. The Brussels sprouts were a little understated, kinda like creamed spinach at a steakhouse. They were delicious but overshadowed by other menu items. The meatballs were spicier than we expected, so if you like a spicy meatball, get after it. The best thing about the sub was the pesto sauce on top, which added a nice green brightness to what was an otherwise heavy sandwich. Good luck picking this monster up, we needed to resort to knife and fork! The fries were on point. Whoever is running the frier at Esoteric has the temp dialed in. I wish we had room for dessert but we were already bagging up most of the sub and fries. The portions here match the prices. Would love to eat outside here when it's a little warmer. If you are looking for a cute spot in the vibe, don't miss Esoteric. We for sure will be back.
