I love my haircut - and I love this place. I've been going to fancy-schmancy hair salons, and yes, I can afford them, but no, I don't feel I belong there. When I'm in the mood, it's fun to listen in to the 20-somethings with the big rocks on their left hands effuse about how they flew the whole wedding party to Capri where they all partied in the villa for a week.... but in real life, most of the time, I'm not in the mood. and I don't have time to go downtown and spend a half-day getting a haircut - even if the salon is gorgeous and the stylists are gorgeous and the clientele is ... oh I don't know, dahlink.... gorgeous and rich? Found Daymaker Salon on Yelp and was impressed with the reviews. Got there and ... it's a bit more like a barbershop than a Barbie emporium and I love it like that. Edmund (the owner), his wife (Sylvie? I have such a bad memory!) are friendly and welcoming. So is Matt - you'll see his name in the other reviews. I was in and out in 45 minutes, with the best haircut and blowdry I've ever had. I've been back... and I like the second cut even better than the first. No frills, yet first-class.... Totally my idea of the perfect salon! read more

I have become a regular customer at the Daymaker Salon for 2 years. Seeing how great my hair looks after a visit is reason enough! The salon's owner, Edmond, is very much a perfectionist --he spends plenty of time making sure the cut and style is perfect! Erica is fantastic for coloring your hair too! I love everyone who works there; they truly treat their customers like gold! I just had the greatest treatment EVER here , after it was recommended by Edmond for my crazy, wavy, frizzy hair. It is called La Brasiliana and it REALLY worked unbelievably well!! After the treatment my hair was the silkiest and smoothest it has ever been--its like my hair used to feel many decades ago! Also, for the first time I am actually able to blow it dry myself in less than half the time! It looks like I had it blown out at the salon! I still cannot get over what a difference this treatment has made to my hair. Although it was time consuming to apply the La Brasiliana treatment, it was worth every cent I paid for it! Go to the Daymaker if you want excellent service and skillful cuts, color and style for your hair! read more

I highly recommend this salon. They are committed to customer satisfaction! I recently decided to switch to a local salon (previously went downtown) and based on the reviews decided on this one. I called for a highlight apt. and was pleasantly surprised with the time they took over the phone getting details about my hair/color etc. so they could match me up with the right colorist. My highlights were good, but a little darker than I like. I called the following week and they got me back in right away to lighten it up, gave me a deep conditioning treatment and offered to blow dry my hair. The stylist that was drying my hair noticed my last cut (another salon) was uneven and offered to correct it for me while I was there. Needless to say, I walked out with perfect highlights, and a great new cut all complimentary. Everyone at this salon is committed to customer satisfaction and exceeded my expectations for having to go back for highlight correction. I will definitely go back! read more

I found this place a little over two years ago and have been going there ever since. It is a pleasure to go there and get my hair cut. The owners are the friendliest people and everyone they hire is just as nice. There are great business owners, who know that service and personal attention will keep people coming back. They listen carefully to what you want and take their time to give you the absolute best service. Their services are very reasonably price, and actually a steal for the quality that they give. Once I started going to the there I realized how bad some of my previous haircuts had been - mostly because stylists just don't really care all that much. That is not at all the case here. Great personal attention, wonderful service, friendly people - I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

The owner of the Daymaker Salon greets every guest at the door, every day, no matter how many times one has been there. The Daymaker Salon is welcoming yet slightly edgy and urban, like several other Glenview village locations. Parking is a breeze, and there is a Caribou next door not to mention a great view of the active Glenview community bustling by on the corner. Their prices are reasonable, stations comfortable, space clean, music appropriate and most of all, they give the best haircuts from here to Pennsylvania. You might spend a little extra time for your cut, but it is well worth it, the precision is unmatched. I am convinced you can't get a better cut and color anywhere else, and I have tried them all from here to Pennsylvania! read more

I have been going to Natasha for at least 5 years now and I usually get a haircut and am always happy. This time I decided to get my hair dyed and cut and was a little nervous. She was so nice and accommodating and made sure I was comfortable with everything she was doing. She asked me questions and I could tell she was really listening and taking notes because when she colored my hair it turned out better than what I expected! In other words she new what I wanted even though I didn't explain it perfectly. Her intuition was on point! I have always been happy with her, but this time I was completely blown away! Thank you Natasha!! read more

My friend recommended this salon to me. I usually go to Teddie's, Mario Tricoci, or On Stage. I decided to give it a try anyways... WOW! I was not disappointed. I had an appointment with Matthew and honestly the coloring was really amazing. I received more compliments on the style and highlights than I ever have. He was very thorough and actually created a custom color for my hair. It looks perfect! I will now be going here each time for my hair appts. Best hairdresser on the North Shore. There is a parking lot in the back of the salon . P.S. my mom went to him as well recently and is just as happy as I was! read more

I have lived in Glenview for 22 years and have been to EVERY salon here. I decided to try Daymaker Salon after receiving a coupon in the mail. Am I glad I did!! Diana is amazing. I brought a few pictures of hairstyles that I liked and she cut and styled my hair BETTER than the photos. She truly loves what she does and it shows. You leave the salon feeling happy and glamorous. It's not one of the huge salons that rush you in and out. Diana and Natasha are really nice and make you feel like more of a friend than a customer. So glad I found Diana! Thank you :) read more

I have gone to this salon for years. The owners hairstyling skills are unrivaled. You can feel the high level of commitment to customer satisfaction the second you enter the salon. It is clean and inviting. Everyone is friendly and sincere. I appreciate the time and attention given to make sure that when I leave I feel like I just received the best hairstyle of my life. My daughters are made to feel special too. You don't have to spend a million dollars to feel like a million dollars. The Daymaker Salon is just that, a salon that will truly make your day! read more

I have been "salon shopping" for the past few months. I have to say I was really impressed with this place. It's a smaller salon, which makes it very personable and they don't rush you in and out like some of the bigger chain salons do. There are t.v's at the stations which is awesome. Erica did highlights in my hair, they look fantastic! She was able to fix some of the damaged bleeds from the previous salon I went to. I will be going back and highly suggest you check this place out. They are priced reasonable, and have lots of good specials on top of that. read more

I called for an emergency job-never been here before. My son had gone here a few days before & liked it. He had a coupon so I called. They were able to fit me right in. Natasha was amazing! She listened to what I wanted, gave her suggestions which were spot on to what I wanted but couldn't verbalize & gave me exactly what I wanted. She really knows her coloring! I've been back a 2nd time & was even more amazed at what she could do with me. This is a small, neighborhood salon with very friendly people. I Highly recommend Natasha & Daymaker Salon. read more

What a great little family owned salon!! The owners are a husband and a wife and they are both stylists. Everyone there look likes like they really enjoy working there it's no surprise, because the owners are such down to earth people and atmosphere at this place is great too. They really strive for excellence here. They are all very detail oriented. This place is excellent! I am so happy I finally found a salon where I can return to consistently now. read more

This was my first time going to this salon, and I'm sure that it won't be my last. I have thick, wavy hair that is hard for most stylists to deal with...but not Matthew. He did an absolutely fantastic job! He really listened to what I wanted, and the owner who was training him spent at least 10 minutes going over the cut and how best to do it. And then Matthew knocked it out of the park. I have never had such an awesome haircut! read more

five stars! the daymaker salon is composed of a fantastic team of hair colorists and cutters! the entire team works well together and the jovial chemistry between each person makes for an enjoyable experience. i had both highlights and a cut done and was completely thrilled with the results by both individuals who worked on my hair. i recommend this salon to anyone, it is worth the drive... read more

A few little updates.... There are now a few more folks which have been hired to work here. The gentleman who started the salon up makes sure to train each and every person who comes through the doors, regardless of experience, in order to meet his very high standards. A cute little place with no snootiness involved. I still go back regularly, and would recommend it to anyone. read more

Check out Matt Funovitz at this location. I get my haircuts through him as does most of my family and we are generally extremely satisfied. So satisfied that he was one of the hairdressers at my sisters wedding. I frequently get compliments on my haircuts that i get through him. I can't speak for any of the other people at this location, but they all seem nice. read more

I'm visiting from out of town and needed a cut badly. Diana gave me the best cut and style I've ever had! She was very professional and made sure I liked what she did at each stage. The salon is easy to get to, parking's not a problem, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. All in all, a terrific experience and I recommend Daymaker -- simply the best! read more

I am a new customer to The Daymaker Salon. I am so totally satisfied. Erika does my color. She always takes special care to make sure it is the "correct" color. Natasha cuts my hair and really "listens" to my concerns. I just love the smaller atmosphere this shop has. Everyone who works at the Daymaker is service oriented. read more

Great salon in a relatively small town. I got a lot of complaiments on my highlites. I wanted to do something that looked natural and they made a great custom color for me - and the price was great. When I am back in Glenview I will definitely go there again. A+ read more
