I had the best experience starting with the front desk staff that greeted me so well and showed me around. I did my hair and I was very happy she understood what a wanted and I left feeling so good. I will be returning!!! read more

This place is horrible environment!! the owner Georgia the owner is so rude, she is so rude to all of the people in the salon she walks around, literally like Hitler!!! Not a good experience!! Bad vibes!!! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star!! Soon as I walked in no one greeted me, sent me to the back bar to get a shampoo by this lady that scratched the crap out of my head!! and was acting like she knew it all.. bad place they just want your money but bad service, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! read more

On stage is awesome They give you rockstar treatment. The salon is beautiful, everyone there is warm, kind and patient. I was in there with a family friend getting ready for a special wedding. I highly recommend On Stage Salon & Spa. It's one stop shopping. Thanks for making this a great experience. We love coming in to get our haircut, colored, styled and our eyebrows. read more

I looove this salon! The owner, Georgia, is an incredibly talented and kind person. The salon is beautiful and clean and all of the stylists are fantastic. Yuli recently did a keratin treatment for me that is by far the best ever! read more

I came here 1-1/2 months ago for the first time. Amadeo has been cutting my friend's hair for years and years, so when I was looking for a new salon, I asked her where she went. The staff here was friendly and welcoming, as was Amadeo. He was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. My friend has straight hair and mine is curly & frizzy, so I was a little hesitant about doing this. But to my delight, he knew how to cut curly hair! He listened to what I wanted and improved on that! He knew what he would need to do to give me what I wanted. I was extremely happy with the hair cut he gave me. It was very flattering! I received several compliments from friends too. And it even looked great when I washed and styled it myself at home! Thank you Amadeo and staff! read more

Another 5 stars purely because Athina is amazing. I love the way my hair smells after shampooing and she does a fabulous blow-dry. My hair is uncharacteristically sleek and gorgeous today! :D read more

Finally, a salon where you get what you're looking for. LOVE my hair every time! The Salon is clean and the staff is friendly and professional. If you're considering trying On Stage: DO IT. Perfect hair color, great haircuts, and stylish blowouts. read more

When you find a hairstylist you love it's worth it's weight in gold! Loved my time at On Stage Salon, but I had to find Eunice! She always takes the time to listen to what I want, makes great suggestions and gives great advice to keep my hair looking great in between appointments. Thankfully I found her at Lux Salon in Northbrook by Sunset Foods!!!! Hit her up on instagram @euniceshairdos! I'll be in soon On Stage for a mani/pedi :) read more

I've had some serious bad luck finding someone who can successfully create the high intensity red I prefer for my hair. I've been through THREE stylists within a month trying to match what I formerly had from an angel who is no longer in the biz :( So I tried On Stage with much skepticism, but Marissa took the challenge and nailed it! So happy with her coloring skills. First time I'm a repeat customer in so long, I'm delighted I finally found someone who knows their craft. Thank you! I highly recommend. Also, front of house is always polite and professional, even though I'm always a total scheduling mess. Lots of hair and never enough time. Thanks for your patience, Dean and team. Cheers! read more

I had Tina do my hair for my wedding, and she was great. For my trial, I showed her two pictures, and I told her that I wanted a combination of the two, but I wasn't really sure how it would work. She looked at it for a few minutes, and then just got started. It turned out great, and there were just a few small changes I wanted for my actual wedding. Fast forward to my wedding day, which was about a month later. I brought in pictures of my hair from my trial, and she said "oh I don't need those, I remember what we did" - and she certainly did! She made the changes we talked about, and my hair looked exactly the way I wanted it to, and it held up ALL NIGHT. I can't speak for the other stylists there, but I highly recommend Tina! read more

It had been about 2 years since my last haircut and my hair had grown about 2 feet. This was mostly because I was nervous about finding a new hair stylist. I had walked past On stage Salon and spa for months and finally decided to make an appointment online and I'm so glad I did! My hairstylist was Marisa and she did a phenomenal job! From the moment we walked back to her station, she put me at ease. I asked her to cut about 8 inches off and add long layers! My hair feels so much lighter, healthier, super bouncy! It's exactly what I wanted! She also did an amazing job on the blow dry! I'm so happy I found a new salon and a new hairstylist which are conveniently walking distance from my work! I will definitely be back! Thank you Marisa! read more

I have recieved a mani/pedi-which was relaxing...but felt very rushed. I also had my hair cut/styled, it didn't seem anything out of the ordinary-and I prob wouldn't pay that much for a simple cut again. I do LOVE getting my brows done at On Stage-I got them done once there not so great, but I have gone back repeatedly for ANGIE, she's amazing and knows the eyebrows you need for your face-I highly recommend her! read more

I wanted this place to blow my socks off...fail. I came in with a friend on a Sunday (yay for being open on a Sunday!!) to get a spa mani/pedi. We were the only two there getting our nails done at the time so we got our services done together, which was nice. This should have been a 4 or 5 star experience, but my fingernails look like a child painted them :( My toenails look just OK. I don't get it. The spa part of the mani/pedi was awesome. It was soothing and relaxing, but I can't get past the fact that I could paint my nails better. Talk about disappointing! Luckily, this was just for fun and not for any particular occasion. Positives: + relaxing mani/pedi + paid before my nails were painted so as not to mess them up + got 20% off for being a first-time customer Negatives: - POOR polish job - can't add tip to credit card read more

Great experience at the salon with Marisa! I got a haircut and blonde highlights, I was so happy with both! She did an absolutely amazing job! Very, very highly recommended. You will be so happy with the results! The salon itself was very clean and the staff super friendly! Two thumbs up! read more

I've been going to Athina at On Stage for the past 3 years now, and I couldn't be any happier! Hair is a very sensitive subject for most women, so it's very important to trust your stylist, and with Athina you're in good hands! She truly listens to you and helps you achieve that exact results you want. She is kind, humble, caring, and very talented! My color and cut always looks fantastic by Athina. I highly recommend her to everyone! She is the best :) read more

I'm happy to finally find a new Salon, after a few not so great haircuts at a couple of different places . My stylist is Marissa, and she does a really good job cutting my fine hair. I also like booking online. Although I put in the wrong date last time, but they fit me in anyway when I showed up a month early . read more

Onstage Salon is amazing - hands down! I have been a loyal customer for many years and appreciate the "white glove" client services approach and fair pricing. Marina cuts/colors my hair and Waltraud is my waxing pro. Dean and the entire family truly care about their customers!! read more

ONSTAGE IS THE BEST SALON BY FAR WAXING: ASK for Angie, she's simply the best, not only because of her talent but she has the best personality everrr! She is the best in the biz and will show you that once you see her work, I always get the most amazing compliments on my brows ever since she has been doing them which has almost been for about 7+ years. Diane and Emily are also great for waxing, I would truly recommend both girls. You will absolutely not go wrong. Nails: all they nail techs are amazing , The always takes their time, and make sure im always happy! Hair: all the stylist are phenomenal, I have been to 5 different stylists and have never not been satisfied. Front Desk: Always friendly and super nice! I love this salon!! read more

I've gotten my hair cut here about 4 or 5 times and while I think the cuts are good, they are pretty pricey. I usually just get a trim... maybe 1 or 2 inches and nothing special in terms style. But everybody that works here is helpful and nice and it is always very clean. read more

I was referred to this salon by a friend, and I absolutely love this place! One of the best salons in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I enjoy how easy it is to book an appointment online. However, if you want a particular stylist be sure you book in advance, because slots fill up fast. You can't go wrong with any of the stylists. My favorite stylist is Marisa. I came in and she was calm, patient, and positive. I appreciated how she was able to take time with me before she started cutting my hair to discuss with me what I would like done. I can't wait to come back for my next haircut. read more

I had a wonderful experience today when I went to get my hair done. First of all the Salon is huge and offers everything you can imagine and they carry every product from skin care to an immense array of hair care items. My colorist was Athina, a very sweet and talented young, woman who did a great job on my hair. And I have been EVERYWHERE,from the near north side of Chicago to plenty of places up here, and I can honestly say I think she did the best job of all. I know she can cut hair too because she did my daughter's hair and it turned out really cute. She's very fussy and quite happy with her hair these days and that's how I ended up there, myself. Because, it was my first time, I got a deep Moroccan Oil treatment from a very nice lady named Yaffa(sorry-spelling!) All in all, a very friendly place, and my hair looks great! read more

I moved up North so I'm trying to find the best places around here since it'll be hard for me to head into the city now that I've got 2 LOs. I've driven past this place a million times so I figured I'd give it a shot plus they offered a coupon for first timers @ 20%. I ended up paying $40 vs. $50. I should have not been suckered in and kept driving past this salon. The salon wasn't anything fancy and somewhat cheesy - reminded me of a cross b/t the Mario Tricoci school and the Teddie Kossof salon. There's lots of seats but not all the seats were filled. I wonder if this place used to be a bustling one or if it was b/c I went during the weekday. It was clean but lifeless. Much of the clientele were older women getting their tight perms that day. I was on time for my appointment and got in right away so that was a plus. I hate arriving at my appointments right on time or 15 minutes early (as requested) and having to wait to get in - then what's the point of arriving early just to sit there and twiddle your thumbs? I was directed to get my hair shampoo'd and conditioned by the shampoo women. The woman who shampoo'd my hair was friendly until I got that question some post pregnancy women hate - so when are you due? I was kind b/c I know sometimes people don't know the etiquette and just told her that I already had my kid. She must have been embarassed b/c I didn't hear much from her after that. Here's why I'm passing on this place: The girl who cut my hair seemed very nice but her cutting skills weren't anything to rave about. I don't really get much done w/ my hair cuz I'm all about low-maintenance care but asked to get layers in my hair since I wanted a change from getting the usual trim. The way she started my layers was interesting but I would not get that type of layering performed on me again. She brought some of my hair to the front and (she did warn me that it looked like a lot was going to be cut off but it wasn't) cut it as if I was going to get a ton of blunt bangs. It didn't turn out that way but now the back of my head didn't look so great (checked it out afterwards - not at the salon). The layers don't fall well so it looks like an inexperienced stylist did my hair. She continued to cut my hair in silence ... which is fine by me b/c I'm not that much of a talker and thought she was really focusing on my hair, but that's because she must have had something to do after me. Possibly a lunch date w/ a friend - A girl came into the salon and they talked briefly. She told me earlier that after she blow dried my hair that she would make adjustments if necessary. Well, when she was done, she didn't even ask me anything. She's like, ok - thanks for coming in and started taking off the drape but I stopped her cuz my bangs were too long. She cut them as I requested but I could tell she wanted to be done cuz she didn't even have me check the back of my hair (that was my fault!). What stylist forgets to do that? I should have reminded her but it completely slipped my mind. After she brought me up to the cashier, she met up with that friend and that was the end of the transaction. That was the end of doing business with this salon. I paid way too much for a Bo-Rics/Great Clips haircut. read more

It took me years to find a consistently great place and person to do my hair, and I am so happy I met Eunice via a reference for wedding hair. On Stage has been my salon of choice for the past 2 years, and I HIGHLY recommend and love Eunice! She can do it all so well... color, haircut, and style! Eunice did my hair, as well as my entire bridal party on the day of my wedding, and everyone absolutely loved their hair. You can show her any picture, and she is amazing at duplicating a style, and adjusting so that it works on your hair. If you are new to On Stage, and want a sure thing, ask for Eunice! read more

I have been coming here forever! Kathy K cuts mine, my moms, my aunts, sisters and three of my cousins, as well as one my cousins sons hair. She is phenomenal and always keeps up on what is going on in the industry. I always feel comfortable telling her to do whatever she wants because I have never received a bad cut or color from her. Love this place and Kathy! read more

NO THANK YOU. The first and only time I've ever been to this place (probably about 2 yrs ago), the girl who cut my hair did do a decent job, BUT when her next customer (a much older and rather regular) arrived and she was running a bit behind, SHE MADE ME BLOW DRY MY OWN HAIR. I could not believe she just asked me to do that. Sure, she asked me politely, but that still does not excuse the poor service. YOU JUST DON'T DO THAT. Yeah, I will NEVER go back to this place again. read more

Marissa is the GREATEST stylist for Keratin, Brazilian blowout, and haircut/ blow dry. I've been a loyal customer for over 5 years and have flown in from DC and Miami JUST for these services. As a former beauty queen I'm EXTREMELY picky when it comes to my look and on stage has nailed it each and every time. I've referred all my friends and family to this salon. read more

I've been going here for more than 5 years whenever I need a manicure/pedicure. Everyone here is extremely friendly and they'll make sure you have a pleasurable experience throughout. I highlighted my hair once and I have to say it wasn't done right. They have a older clientele so their cuts/coloring don't work well if you want to look hip & young. I do have to agree that prices are very cheap here. read more

Since I moved up here I've been looking for new places to get myself prettied up, and, on the suggestion of other people on this site, I decided to book myself an appointment at the On Stage Salon and Spa this morning to get a partial highlight and a trim. So now, for a list of plusses and minuses... + The stylist was very friendly with me and tried to make me feel comfortable in the salon. + She brought out the color book and matched my higlights to the ones I already have perfectly. + She took my screwed up hair and made it look good. She also made it so that it can grow out and look good while doing so. Two pluses for that. - The stylist was late to work. Not very late, but late enough to leave me sitting in the front lobby waiting for her to come in a hair coloring smock. - After being late, she, and the other women who were working there, spent 10+ minutes trying to fix the TV so that I could watch a show that I didn't even ask to watch. - There was a strange old man walking around the salon, drinking a cup of coffee, mid-afternoon on a monday. I didn't know what he was doing there or if he really belonged there, but I smiled at him as he spoke to me.... ...and then there is the big negative...the bill. I'm surprised, especially with how easy my haircut/color was, that it cost so much. But my hair looks hot and it looks like it'll be easy to maintain...so i like On Stage, but I really prefer Robert Jeffrey on Halsted. That's the place that I would go if I still lived close enough by.... read more

Wow, this place a bit of a drive for me - but WELL WORTH IT! I will make two recommendations: Need your eyebrows done? Request "Angie"....she is detailed and makes sure your eyebrows are even and fit your face structure! Well worth the $15. Those $5 shops are a give and take kinda deal but with Angie - guaranteed perfect everytime! Need your hair done? Try "Effie". She's young but has been doing hair for 4 years and knows what she's doing - my hair came out exactly how I wanted. She was able to control my crazy curls. It cost me only $35. Great prices for great service...I love this place!! read more

Hey, Good Lookin'! For hair, nails, whether you're male or female, if you want to look good, this is the placeto go! I've been coming here for years now and I love it! Eunice is amazing! Before the summer started, I wanted to change my hair. I found a picture of a balayage that I wanted so I showed it to Eunice, and within a few hours, my hair looked exactly like the picture! I trust her opinion and judgement so much that I don't even have to tell her what to do, she just does it, and I always end up loving it! She is very talented and extremely friendly. As a matter of fact, everyone at On Stage is pleasant and always smiling! I absolutely love my experience every time and would never go to another salon! read more

Well I am VERY VERY picky about my hair. I moved here from new York last year and have been so disappointed with every salon I have been to. That is until I met Effie. She is the most amazing stylist I have ever met. I just sat down and she did the rest !! She new exactly what color would match my complextion and the cut was better than any $200 cut In new York for only $50. It just shows that it doesn't matter what place you go to you just have to meet the right stylist. And believe me Effie is the right person ! read more

This place was just ok. The staff was polite but the woman who cut my hair was unfriendly (it was later in the evening so she may just have been worn out). It was also fairly expensive and I don't really see why. They didn't even have a coat closet and for an expensive place I expect to at least have someone offer to hang up my coat. I have very curly hair and I have been searching for a place in the area that can cut it properly. This is not the place. As with all of the other "upscale" salons I've tried, I ended up spending a lot of money for the same quality I could expect from one of those cheap chain places. read more

I wanted to change up my look and go from black to platinum blonde w/ highlights. I'd never colored my hair before and was apprehensive as to how it would turn out. I started at Mario Tricoccci and didn't really get the results I was looking for. Long story short after 4 different hair appointments at 2 different salons I FINALLY called On Stage and decided to try one last time to fix my hair the color I wanted. Toni did my color and she did a phenominal job! I can't stop looking at my hair and it looks exactly as I 'd envisioned. Toni is amazing!! She's super friendly, took time to bring me water and magazines and just went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. She also did a fabulous job on my hair color and I couldn't be happier. My only regret is going anywhere else first. On Stage is the only place I plan to get my hair colored and styled from now on :) read more
