This place is extremely polarizing and because of it, creates a somewhat bad taste in my mouth. On one hand, their portions, flavor selection, and amazing cookie sandwiches keep us coming back. On the other hand, the staff is extremely inconsistent. On any given day, you can purchase 2 ice cream sandwiches and be charged $9. Go another day in the week and all of a sudden you're paying $20!!! I've never had the same price/experience twice at this place and I've been coming here for about 7 years now. It honestly leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If your staff can't prepare food and charge the correct prices for each item, then the staff needs to be properly trained or the menu needs to be sized down. It's not rocket science and since this place was rebuilt after being demolished, they should have ample technology to help the workers perform their jobs properly, or at least you'd hope so. I'll come back again, but I'm on the fence about returning depending on how that experience goes. read more

The order ended up being cancelled by the store. Not cool. If your last delivery order is 8 pm, then don't accept delivery orders at 7:45 if you're then going to cancel them. I literally live less than a mile away. It was just a waste of our time. We wont be returning to your store. They have soft serve (vanilla and chocolate) and ice cream cakes. Richardson's ice cream so of course it's good. I'm actually taking away a star as I kick myself in the @ss for tempting fate once again. As I have previously commented, this ice cream establishment does not feel at all cleanly and on my most recent excursion to the Daily Scoop I saw a rusty bobby pin in the tub of orange sherbet. Now I understand that mistakes happen-- hair accessories fall out, but luckily, I was not in an orange sherbet mood. When I quietly pointed out the foreign object in the tub, the employee simply smiled at me and went about her business. I can imagine the bobby pin was later removed and the contaminated product was dispensed to unassuming customers. When I got to the counter to pay I was informed that they were out of napkins and there were sticky spills everywhere. For the love of ice cream, what is going on in this place??? Good selection of flavors plus they have a walk up window for when we bring the dogs for a walk. They offer pupcups, but can also make up a bowl of vanilla soft serve for your furry friend. I'll echo some previous reviews - this is a great find because they serve Richardsons ice cream, although the flavors are pretty much always the same (there's only 1 "special" rotating flavor at a time it seems). It's also a bit pricy, but hey, it's Richardsons! The kiddie size is huge, so it's usually enough for me. The trick is to get it in a waffle cone as you end up getting more bang for your buck as compared to a cup or sugar cone. The service is also usually good, although I feel like I pay a slightly different amount every time I go - it's always within a buck though, so no biggie. read more

My husband and I, and family, when they come to town from far away places, have been going to the Daily Scoop since it opened. It is the very best ice cream around! Mike the owner, a funny, congenial guy, and his wife are lovely! He hires young workers who are professional and pleasant. However, my rating which would normally be a 5 star rating has decreased as of yesterday. We are in the midst of the " Coronavirus Pandemic". Mikes shop is open with limited amounts of people.. spaced 6' apart. The employees.. all young, were wearing face masks. I don't recall the gloves. But, Mike came out with his face mask down around his mouth, not covering his nose...and when he talked he removed it( there is a plexiglass glass shield in place. It was as though he was making a joke of wearing the mask.. not going along with the safety precautions the world is trying hard to embrace, despite the discomfort and inconvenience of masks. As Peggy Noonan said in the WSJ Saturday.. 5/9/10/20. "Americans need hope as well as Safety"" A mask isn't a sign of submission as some idiots claim. It's a sign of RESPECT, responsibility,and economic encouragement. It say's, I'll do my small part". ( to help get us back on our feet economically). She also continued to say.. " It's safety right now which ALLOWS business".
