This place is a whole experience! You can get ice cream, soft serve, frozen yogurt, shakes but you can also do mini golf and see farm animals like chicken, goats and cows. The whole farm and space is huge. So even though it was really busy on a Thursday night around 8:30 it didn't feel crowded. My party got a few child size cups and they give a very healthy/large scoop. We tried the pistachio, coconut/pineapple, salted caramel pretzel and peach. All flavors tasted fresh and natural. We were even surprised to see that the peach had actual fresh peach chunks in it! Definitely a creamy ice cream. Went today around 12:30 and parking was pretty packed and only got worse by the time we left at 2! I got the Milky Way ice cream and it was very good; lots of caramel. We got some watermelon sherbet too and that was refreshing. There are some goats, chickens, and cows you can look at, which my daughter enjoyed. As well as some mini golf and batting cages. I was really looking forward to trying Richardson's, but it unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations. While I enjoyed my scoop of Toll House Cookie enough, it wasn't worth waiting in the cold for. First of all, I was let down by the service at Richardson's. I ordered my ice cream in a waffle cone with sprinkles, but it was served in a cup without sprinkles. I was going to ask about it, but the waitress had already moved on to the next person in line and since it was a busy night, I felt it wasn't worth bothering someone. Also, Richardson's only has chocolate sprinkles, which isn't a big deal to me, but disappointing for the rainbow sprinkle purists in my family. The vanilla base of my ice cream was delicious, especially because it tasted fresh and real. However, the cookie pieces were stale and very dry. I found myself scooping them out to avoid eating them! With so many flavors at Richardson's, it was hard to choose just one, so I ended up getting two, cotton candy and crunchasaurus. Both flavors were great, but they did melt quickly. The cotton candy was sweet, and rich, but didn't have that artificial taste that you'd expect. There were pieces of candy for the added crunch. The crunchasaurus is a pretty blue color with chocolate swirls and chips in it that was also creamy and delicious. They also sell pints, half a gallon, and gallon-sized containers for you to take home your favorite flavor. I stopped by Richardson's on a Thursday evening around 8:30 PM, and the place was poppin'! The batting cages, the mini golf, and the driving range next door were all packed, so I'm assuming these two businesses share most of their customers because the ice cream lines were packed as well. The outside ice cream lines seemed to go by really quickly, though, because they had adequate staff helping customers to speed things along. I skipped the outside lines and went inside to purchase pre-packaged take-home ice cream containers. The young guy who was stocking the freezer was super sweet and helpful in recommending flavors for me since it was my first time there. I got the Coffee Oreo, the Coconut Almond Joy, and the Blueberry Pie flavors, and all were a hit at home. Let me also say that the grounds of the establishment are beautiful! There are plenty of picnic tables for customers to sit at and enjoy their treats or the overall dairy, which includes cows, chickens, and goats for customers to look at. They also have a couple of large tractors which were a huge hit with all of the kiddos who were running around. There's plenty of parking, too. I feel like this is a great family-friendly place.
