Very very rude to us tonight. I get off work at 9, Breakers closes at 9:30. We arrived at 9:15 for a shake. The guy was cleaning and looked pissed to see us. As soon as my husband opened his mouth to order, he shook his head and very aggressively said "No frappes!" It was very clear to us he just didn't want to make it for us because he had cleaned. Listen, as someone who worked in food service, if you advertise that you don't close until 9:30, you make what the customer asks for and clean the machine again. This place is attached to Mikes which has a huge menu and lots of food options. (Hope to try someday) They have a decent size parking lot. It is March and they didn't have the outside window open to order and only one kid working the ice cream stand. After seeing the line of a nice warm sunny Saturday you would think since they have lot of all the staff on the line one would hop over the help the kid. Stopped at Breakers after dinner at Polcari's to satisfy our sweet teeth. Having an Original Bailey's Hot Fudge sundae from my youth on my mind and not having found a great hot fudge sundae in SoCal for a while, I ordered one and it was very adequate. One of our group is lactose intolerant and ordered the sorbet. He said it was the best he'd ever had. WE all had a taste and agreed that it was very good. First time here with my lovely lady and she always claimed the best ice cream when we came to visit her family but never went until today. I got the soft serve cone dipped in chocolate. Basically everything you'd want in a soft serve cone. Great texture, large portion, hard chocolate shell. Not too bad on the price either. You get A LOT. I would definitely suggest the kiddie portion. It's plenty. One disappointment is the locals said if you ordered sprinkles, they used to put them on the bottom of the cup and then ice cream and then add more sprinkles. Today, just sprinkles on the top. During the miserable COVID summer of 2020 when there wasn't a whole lot open and much to do this place was a staple for me. Without much to do I took rides and got ice cream where I could find a place open. This, like other ice cream places, has outdoor service windows so was open. I usually sat outside or in my car and of all the places I tried this was the best. Huge portions, good service, tasty ice cream thank you Breakers for providing a respite during a terrible time. Tonight I went to breakers moose and ordered a kiddie moose tracks and paid $5.09. I was the only person in line and the girls behind the counter seemed to take a while but I did not think much of it as I was in no rush. They called my order "kiddie moose tracks" after a few minutes and I took the cup and went to my car. As I drove off I realized that the ice cream was not moose tracks but they put vanilla ice cream in a cup with small Reese's peanut butter cups. I was dissatisfied and disappointed. I wish the staff told me that they were out of moose tracks if that were the case as I would have chosen another flavor. read more

Probably the snobbiest rudest group of young women that I have ever taken $4 from me. There were 5 young girls on and not a single one acknowledged the patron in front of me or me while I waited listening to them complain about how the deserved a raise (no word of a lie). The bleach blonde fair skinned girl that ignored me and the other patrons the entire time felt the need to come over, point and roll her eyes to tell me that the pick up window was elsewhere. I ordered a hot fudge sundae with black raspberry ice cream and marshmallow. The ice cream portion was generous, too generous in fact. It left no space for the toppings. I ended up with a scant crosshatching of drizzled hot fudge and marshmallow, completely out of proportion to the mountain of ice cream. As a result, no more than the first few mouthfuls could be considered a sundae, the rest was just ice cream and too much of it. The staff was friendly and service was timely. The flavor and consistency of the ice cream was also good. But if I had wanted just a bowl of ice cream, that's what I would have ordered. I just love this place. We go too often and indulge in their delicious ice cream. They're also good with handling food allergies. We have a nut allergy and they open new containers, use new scoops and have separate containers of jimmies and toppings. read more

Breakers has been the go-to place for ice cream in the Woburn area for many years now. They have a wide selection of flavors. It's 'homemade' in so much as they offer Richardson's ice cream (so not made on site). The good: you get an enormous amount of ice cream for a bargain (the kiddie size equates to a small elsewhere). They also have great shakes. The bad: their ability to stock has been downright dismal the last year or so. 50% of the time that I've gone, they are out of the more popular flavors. And the last few times I've stopped in during the off-season it's gotten far worse: they have had a large list of all the flavors they are out of (at least a 1/3, if not half). It's disappointing and downright inexcusable that they can't keep adequate stock for so long. If you want to ensure you get what you want, you're probably better off taking a quick drive up to an actual Richardson's location. read more

The new owners of breakers ice cream are unaware of previous traditions. For example, when you order jimmies on ice cream, the old scoopers would put them on the bottom of the ice cream as well as the top. I came to breakers specifically for the jimmies on the bottom of the great Richardson's ice cream. With this minor change in the scooping traditions, I feel more and more people will enjoy your shop. I have been going to breakers ice cream for 15+ years. I hope to come back in the future, specifically when this is minor issue is resolved. read more

Absolutely my favorite place to get ice cream. The girls are so friendly and a great selection of ice cream

This used to be my family's favorite place to go for ice cream. Recently, however, we've had a few bad experiences. Apparently Breaker's is under "new management," and now only very select flavors are available at a time because, according to one of the servers, the new manager orders very small quantities of the flavors to save money. This is a big problem for us, because I have food allergies and can only have their soft serve, and my mother has celiac disease and has to be careful of which flavors she gets. The servers are like drawing a wild card - sometimes you'll get a really nice and friendly server, but you have the possibility of getting a rude and/or inattentive server as well. The straw that broke the camel's back for us was the last time we went. We had gotten there right before it opened and sat inside. The server said they weren't going to be open for another few minutes, so we sat down inside along with a grandmother and her two young granddaughters. As we're waiting, we notice that the server has started serving other people at the outside window. We had made our presence known earlier and we were sitting in plain sight inside, so she knew we were still there waiting. Outraged, we go outside to find a long line. We wait there and once we get to the front, the server informs us that she can't serve from the inside window, but never bothered to tell us that when we were waiting inside. When we hear the selection of limited flavors, it turns out that no soft serve is available, so I can't eat anything, and the few flavors my mother knows she can eat safely are gone as well. We vowed to never come back, as this was the third time in a row we'd had an inattentive server and/or safe flavors missing. Unless something changes, this place isn't worth coming to. read more

Ice cream, portion and price is good unless you go in the winter then the flavors are very limited. We stood at the counter for 10 minutes while the 2 girls stood there gossiping and texting.
