I had to look into The Daily Growler after hearing about the humongous selection of beer. They seriously have 60 varieties that include crafts, internationals, and locals, which makes this a must stop for any beer lover. It has a good happy hour special where pints are half off. The worst thing is they only fill their own growlers. You'll have to buy one there. It has a massive selection of beer. Their best special is unsurprisingly the Daily Growler, which is the beer chosen for that day's special. I like the concept but an annoyance is having to bring in their branded growler. They exchange it for clean ones each visit. This kind of makes sense, but it seems like they're using gimmicks to make you spend a little more. Another thing is there's no descriptions of the beers. You'll have to look online to find them. Apparently there's not enough room for this. It's the trade off for the massive selection. The products still make all this inconveniences worth it. I still like having this as an option for beer. It's cool coming in and looking through the inventory. You have to try some and come back a few times.

The Daily Growler is what happens when a fad transcends it's intrinsically transient nature and through staying power and quality product and effort makes a place for itself in the minds of those who enjoy what they offer. In this case, it's beer. Good beer. That may sound simple, but craft beer is not something to mess with, friends. We need to stop for a moment and appreciate the fact we have a centralized place to purchase beer that we like, typically made by craftsmen at specific breweries only found on tap at bars, and enjoy them at home at our leisure in quantities limited by our vices and wallet size. But man, the people here rock too. Good advice. Good banter. I was a regular but upon discovering Islay Scotch I sort of faded away a bit, but they deserve a shout out. Also, it's a great place to drink a flight of beer samples and play board games with friends at the same time. I can't think of many places that offer that luxury and keep the menu strictly to beer without the fuss.

A growler filling station 10 minutes from my house? How could I refuse?! I walk in and immediately notice the scent of all things beer. It is what I would imagine a German Oktoberfest would smell like. It is a spartan little place with a long bar and several tables. There are LCD screens displaying all of the beers on tap. Fantastic idea which sure beats an old fashioned chalk board. All of the taps are numbered, so you don't have to say you want the Hoppin Frog Goose Juice. Just tell them the number and they will fill 'er up. The selection, well, 60 taps is about all you need to say. Phenomenal mix of strong and session beers as well as root beer for the kiddos or DDs. The Daily Growler will only fill their own growlers, and for good reason. After you purchase a growler you can bring it back and exchange for a clean, sanitized and chilled replacement. Wonderful idea. Those growlers can be difficult to clean, but apparently they have a state of the art growler cleaner. I've been there twice now and had to wait several minutes for each fill. That is ok though, because they just opened a week ago. There will be growing pains. When I got home, the beer was fresh and delicious. A nice touch is that they post a daily growler deal on Facebook and Twitter. I hope they get their website up and running soon and somehow post a feed to their tap list.

Make way dukes and duchesses, barons and baronesses: The Daily Growler is the KING of craft beer in Columbus. With over sixty, six zero, 60, tap handles- there are always 59 tapped kegs of delicious, handmade, lovingly-poured, craft brewed goodness awaiting to tantalize your tastebuds. The owner, John, is a spectacular man. Friendly and eclectic, John diligently updates the internet with the daily special- a full 64oz growler filled to the brim with delicately fizzing libation. The Daily Growler functions on an anachronistic "milk man" system that conjures up quaint memories of a time in which I wasn't even conceived. You pay $4 up-front for a growler that you return and swap-out for a fresh, clean one each time. It completely avoids all the craft brewers pretension about growlers being a disgusting, crass disgrace of a receptacle for their prized beverage. Furthermore, the DG happy hour lasts from 4-8pm offering incredible discounts on pints (50% off) and on the 5oz pours (25% off). So you can go and get loaded off a huge selection when those hard days at the office get you down. The DG is bring-your-own-food (BYOF) so often times we find ourselves cooking up a great homemade meal and taking it over to the DG to have some great beer to go right alongside it. DG has plenty of seating compartmentalized into two different rooms- one nearer the bar with long wooden benches and another farther in the back with two large TVs and lightweight, but sturdy machined aluminum chairs. As a beer aficionado, The Daily Growler has endured many a visit from me now since it opened a short while ago. I am proud to say that it is one of my new favorite places and we'll be making plenty of room for it on the regular around-town rotation.

Is it fate that this place lies exactly halfway between work and home? I don't know about fate, but I certainly know it's a blessing after a long day at the office. You've gotta go for Happy Hour and get the highest quality, craftiest, hippest beer around for HALF PRICE! Now that's elite beer all of us can afford. If you don't make it for happy hour, you can always pick up the Daily Growler for $10 all day every day. OR order a flight of 6 5oz samplers (the 7th is free during Happy Hour) and find the beer your heart truly desires. The staff here know their beer. They are the friendliest people, and patient with beer novices like myself (I'm a bourbon/vodka/anything-but-beer person). Just be sure to like them on Facebook so you don't miss out on their special events like Growltoberfest where all Octoberfest beers were 1/2 off all night. I very regretfully learned my lesson when I was informed they were giving away Game of Thrones goblets when they tapped their Ommegang: Take the Black. Don't forget it's BYOFood. They even have menus for the nearby restaurants for you to call in your order and drink while you wait. There is a back room with TVs and more space - perfect for OSU game watching on Saturdays. The entire place is very simple, very clean, and very comfortable to spend hours shooting the breeze with your pals.

Flights and pints, they've got you covered.

Random placement for a place with 60 different taps. Blink and you'll miss it. I like this place because it's has this tiny beer hall vibe. No food is served here and it's the only reason I'm dropping this to 4 stars. Chalk it up to me being lazy - they are totally OK with you bringing in your own food. FYI, the Panzera pizza nearby (1 minute walk from this place) is very good. Great selection - remember they've got 60 taps! And it seems to rotate often so that if you come here two weeks later, at least 2/3 of it will be different/swapped out. You won't lack for variety. The bathrooms are clean. They have a large group room you can book for free if you purchase something like $200 worth of beer (or something close to that). Summary : Very spartan set up. Great selection. I like it.

The Daily Growler is a magical place. When you arrive there are 60, oh yes I said 60, taps of beer before you waiting for your consumption. If you are staying in to drink they will sell you pints or even 5 oz tastes for fairly decent prices. The beers change often and definitely make it impossible for one to get bored with their selection. And just when you thought that was pretty cool, as the name suggests they also fill up growlers (64 oz jug things). I have to admit that having this incredibly delicious beer at my disposal when ever I want is probably bad for my health, but my word I do love it. The atmosphere is also pretty cool. They have captured the whole industrial minimalist thing pretty well and have two separate seating areas. One in the front by the taps, and another backroom that has some screens and such. The back room serves rather well if you are going there with a group. Oh and they also let you bring in your own food due to not having a kitchen of their own. I've noticed a lot of other patrons ordering pizza and the like. Lastly the service at the bar area is great. The guys up there are polite and decent conversationalists. This matched with what is being sold compels me to make this a return destination.

    Grrrr....

The bartender (and manager along side) was quick to greet, take orders, and serve and was also good to chat for a bit. They'll make you anything you want and all the drinks were tasty. The menu looked enticing and I can never resist wings washed down with draft beer - both really hit the spot. A friend decided upon one (of several) of their jambalaya and WOW was it delicious! In fact, I would to return just for it! The vibe, which was chill, was also perfect and we left, after a few hours, all agreeing that Kelley's is a fantastic spot. My friend was obviously shaken up and when we asked the owner about it. We were met with aggressiveness and a lack of empathy regarding the matter. There was no genuine apology offered when the situation was witnessed. And when we asked to speak with her she approached us with irritation. And let us know she's not sure what else she wants us to do because she already comped her drinks. When I proceeded to ask if she was okay with said behavior from this man, she aggressively responded and continued to show a lack patience or empathy. She was very aware of the matter because her bartender requested for something to be comped, but failed to acknowledge the concern as a business owner directly to her customers. As if we didn't experience something personally violating and traumatic, while she was only a few feet away. And also was seen engaging with said man; prior to allegedly requesting them to leave. I'm deeply disappointed in my experience and I would not recommend any business here.

She seated us by a window and was attentive and engaging the entire time. We were going to order the calamari as an appetizer again because it left such an impression on our first visit, but it was no longer listed on the menu, which made us sad until we saw the fancy fried cheese and ordered that instead. The hubby also wanted the jumbo shrimp and fries, just like last time, and luckily for him it was still available. I almost ordered the Kansas City burger again but wanted to mix it up so I chose the Brentwood Chicken sandwich, fried, with a Caesar salad. The salad and cheese came right out and were so delicious! The pesto dipping sauce for the cheese was amazing and we practically licked the container so we didn't leave any morsels. My salad was amazing too; the lettuce was fresh, the croutons were just crunchy enough and it had the perfect amount of dressing on it. My hubby once again thoroughly enjoyed his shrimp, but I had some regrets with the chicken sandwich. It was very tough and hard to eat. I ate half and then took it home for later. Upon a reheating, it was tender and delicious! Overall, very successful second visit to Houlihan's. We will be back for the lovely servers, the delicious food and the cozy, dark booths.
