I met Jennifer R here a few weeks ago for a Happy Hour cocktail and arrived right at 5. First customers. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, bartenders, and mixed drinks. There are a few spots in front, street parking, and a shared lot next door. Their cocktails are really unique with fun names. I started off with what they call a garbage fire / trash tiki, served in a plastic trash bin. Then there was a banana rum drink with a plastic monkey. Then there were little daiquiris (special $1 for joining mailing list). They have a small appetizer list; we had the Bear's Bagels chips and schmear. I took home a bottle of Pineapple Rum. The bar at Echo Spirits distillery is tucked away on a side street behind Natalie's in Grandview. I would never have known it was there if not for the Yelp reviews. Happy hour is 5-6 pm Weds-Friday. They have a nice little outdoor patio but we sat inside. It was quiet at 5 pm, but got busier as the night went on. They have a food truck on Friday and Saturday nights only. There are also a few bar snacks on the menu. These bartenders know their stuff. These drinks are truly craft cocktails. They were very knowledgable about the menu and making suggestions. They were all friendly, but I did feel like we had to work to get their attention when we wanted to order something. There was also some minor confusion with the bill. I was visiting a friend in the area and he said this bar + the ramen place next door were some of his favorite go-to spots. Now I know why! I got the 7 P'S, A SCHWINN, AND A WIN (what a name for a cocktail btw lol) because I was intrigued by the pineapple rum, papaya and passion fruit liqueur and omg it did not disappoint, what a delicious (and frankly, great looking) cocktail! Service was on point too, we hung out at the bar for a little bit and chatted with the bartenders. Next time I'm in town, I'll come back here and try other drinks! read more

I absolutely love everything about this establishment! The location is great and offers plenty of accessible free parking. The staff are always so welcoming and are quick to get a drink ordered for you. Came here one evening with a friend and wanted to try this unique side by side dual cocktail. Not to mention, we also ordered AJ tacos which is also located on site as a food truck. This was trip number three here, and there will be another one... and another one... apropos for a place called Echo. This is a very approachable cocktail experience thanks to the down-to-earth staff and casual feel of the place. But trust me, the cocktails are high-end creative and delicious. Most recently, I visited during their Saturday happy hour from 4:00 to 6:00 and tried The City at Dusk and The Heavy Hook. My winner for the day was Hook, but there were many other options that looked good on the menu. They have distillery tours, a bottle shop and a resident food truck to round out the experience. Loved this bar!!! It was busy, but we lucked out because a couple sitting at the bar was leaving just as we walked up to order. We were promptly greeted and given waters. The drinks were all really creative and we loved the No Scrumping because we always tell our 2 dogs to stop scrumping and stop being scrumps. I ordered it and it was fresh and delightful. My husband ordered the Too Many Cooks and it came with a little waffle snack on top. We tasted each others drinks and loved them both. I would have stayed for a 2nd (and 3rd) cocktail here on any other night, but we had to leave to go meet up with friends. Our bartender was so fun and recognized my I Think You Should Leave crewneck and we sang the bones are their money song, so it was just such a fun time. The mini spresso teeny had the perfect punch of caffeine and the punch came in a mini solo cup and had all the feels to take me back to my college years! Didn't see the friendly bar cat this time. The tagline could be "come for the vibe, stay for the ramen". Customer service was really lacking but I'll chalk that up to it being a busy Friday evening. We didn't like one of our drinks on first sip and told the bartender immediately. He just shrugged, didn't offer a replacement and charged for it. My two friends and I had a Girl's Night at Echo Spirits for the distillery tour and tasting. We arrived and each picked a fancy cocktail off their menu to have in hand during the tour. Robbie was an awesome tour guide and brought us through the inception of the business through the process of making and hand-bottling the liquor. The best part was the tasting after the tour of the facilities. I'd never heard of Vetiver before and it is very similar to gin, my fave. Robbie was very knowledgeable and answered all our curious questions. For under $10 per person, this was a great activity. We tried a few more cocktails from their epic menu and left with bags in hand of bottles we had taste tested. Fun night! read more

Echo is just weird to me. Their staff is amazing. Their location, off the path, yet on it. "Hidden" yet never not busy. Their alcohol offerings that they make, have big swings, and mostly hits (for me - c'mon, it's subjective, you may love/hate rum, it doesn't make all rum bad). Their mixed concoctions run the gamut of "amazingly delicious" to "horribly atrocious." BUT - I feel like they're narrowing that down, if today was any indication. Nothing was "bad." Every drink was AMAZING (for the tiki theme, no less). IF this is a sign of them moving forward, with a well-balanced, delicious showcase of flavors, then they'll have found the sweet spot (for me). ...but it seems they're crazy popular without me thinking they could be better, so you're just going to have to come and decide for yourself! read more

I loved it here. The Vibe feels upscale, the drinks are ridiculously complex (and very booze-forward but in a GOOD way!), and the bartenders clearly know their stuff. I'm excited to come back. Oh, and if you fall in love with a spirit, you can pick up bottles of the Echo Spirits here! (But they have a pretty impressively full bar outside of their own in-house options.) PROS: -Really, really lovely vibe here. It feels intimate, fancy, and relaxed. And they have a distillery kitty (that you MIGHT get a peak of!) -Lots of seating options. It's a smaller-esque space, so the majority of the seating is bar top seating, but they also have low-top chairs, couches, and high-top chairs and tables. -Cocktails are super unique. It's clear that bartenders who have had years upon years of experience craft this menu. You can request your usual favorites, but the flavor profiles here are so complex. It feels like the fine dining of cocktails. -They have cocktail classes here too. They were so insanely detail packed. I've never gone to a "casual" class that had so much detail and behind-the-scenes knowledge in any of the food/drink/dessert classes I've gone to. It went well beyond the "Step 1, 2, 3" and into "Here's why you'd consider doing Step 1 for any cocktail you'd make at home and here's how you'd make it even better". I would pay for another class in a heartbeat - and will be doing so once they swap out the drinks they're teaching for it. -Two unisex individual restrooms. One is noticeably smaller (for accessibility) purposes than the other, so keep an eye out if you need more space. -Very LGBTQA+ friendly. It isn't a giant range of flags or anything, but there's a lot of diversity in here along with some of the notes on the walls. It feels really welcoming here. -Dedicated parking lot. I haaaate fighting for parking. They have their own dedicated lot here. If that's somehow full, street parking is available and free right next to it. -Walkable to Endeavor. While Echo is super cool on its own, if you wanted to easily try a few places, they have a cute punch card between here, Endeavor, and Natalie's with a map that lays out the walk between the three. You can get a giftcard for completing the fun "journey" as a fun weekend outing. CONS: -I LOVE their unique cocktails here. Sometimes I almost feel like their garnishes are "letting you down" compared to the super complex, unique flavors of the cocktails themselves. Everything is gorgeous and picture-perfect, but you probably won't see many photos of these cocktails going viral. Echo has a great location with plenty of parking. It's a cute, very trendy looking building from the outside. My husband and I stopped in here for the tour with barrel thieving and stayed for a flight afterwards. We love supporting local distilleries and had not yet tried Echo and wanted to finally remedy that. Inside Echo is just as cute as the outside. It's kind of retro and has a very chill vibe. We paid $25 each for the tour and unfortunately, it was probably the biggest waste of money that I've ever put towards a tour. The tour was standing in their one production room- which is fine, it's a small, craft distillery and there not much to actually walk around and see. But, unfortunately, our guide had only done a tour one other time and either could not answer a question or got every answer wrong. You could tell that he was nervous and I truly felt bad for him. So then onto the barrel thieving pour. You get to pick ONE pour between two barrels into a mini glen. You ended up thieving into a bigger cup so that whiskey didn't get spilled everywhere and then the guide poured the one you wanted into your mini glen. I maybe got a quarter ounce. I couldn't even believe how small the pour was. And then the tour and pour was over. The experience was scheduled to last an hour and we were done before 30 minutes. Which is fine, but I don't even know what I paid for. We got to take home the mini glens so I guess I paid for that and a taste of whiskey. It was truly disappointing. I cannot recommend to not do this enough. The only reason that I didn't give a lower score is because the place is neat and their product is pretty decent. The bartenders weren't overly friendly tho. I might give this place another chance, but it definitely was a bummer. read more

Loved this cozy distillery and bar. A bit tucked away from the main streets of grandview - but it's a gem. Felt like you were drinking at a friends' house. They distill their own liquor, the cocktails are unique (look at this soup one... come onnnn that's cool), and the space is colorful and inviting. Plus great tunes all night. We got there right at 6 and it was PACKED. Realized shortly after sitting that weekday happy hour had just ended. (But also, who isn't looking for a drink at that time on a Friday?) During hh, cocktails are $3 off and there are beer and wine deals too. There is a ramen truck right out front @redrabbitramen Thurs-Sat which sounded amazing. We had dinner res otherwise would have definitely gotten that. You can bring your own food in on the other days! I enjoyed all the drinks we ordered. They're flavorful and balanced. Some were more savory which is MY jam. Truth or Consequences is a beautiful cocktail for those wanting to try mezcal but isn't too smokey (their take on a corpse reviver, less citrusy). I also ordered the flight to better understand their base spirits. My first time (knowingly) trying genever. It is a botanical and malty Dutch gin but made specifically from grains like rye. There was some in the mezcal cocktail which gave it more fullness. Loved the pineapple rum and spiced rum. Not what you'd imagine for flavored liquor. Not artificial tasting at all with complexity in flavors. The spiced rum took my mind to Leavenworth during the holidays. Pineapple took me to Hawaii -- Kauai specifically. Low lighting and vibes. Echo is hidden off of 5th avenue in an unsuspecting location. I would never have found it if not for the friend who took me there. My friend mentioned that they do a lot of wholesaling, so maybe they don't actively promote the bar space as much, who knows. It's a pretty tight spot, and it seems like it's very popular with the folks who know about it. We were able to get a spot at the bar, but we noticed it got crowded and some folks were waiting for a table as time went on. We each got 1 drink. I went for one with mezcal and star anise, my friend went for their version of an espresso martini. Both drinks were delicate and artfully served at the perfect temperature-- we noticed some of the other drinks had their own specific glasses and service style also. Flavors were well-balanced and delicious. This is definitely a bar for the cocktail connoisseur. Our bartender was great also. See you again soon Echo! read more

We've been here three times now, 2 of which were negative experiences. Really wanted to love this place but the service is lacking. One star for Red Rabbit Ramen (likely the only reason we will return). One star for a good cocktail selection (both riffs and classics on the menu). A final star for overall (interior, happy hour, parking space availability, cool concept). The cons: bartenders are RUDE Two negative experiences we had were with the same bartender (Eric). We came in with a group of 5, sat down at a table and were greeted with a tray of waters. You assume when you're given waters by the server you will get your order taken at the table right? We waited and waited for them to come back to take our order but they never did (20+ mins and nobody else in the bar with 3 bartenders at the bar). We finally went up to bar to ask if they could come take our order and he said "we don't have table service you have to order at the bar" very rudely. Made us so uncomfortable we almost didn't order drinks! Next time we went, I asked if they had any tiki type drinks. The above mentioned bartender just said "no", didn't offer an alternative or ask about my preferences. The drink I ordered tasted terrible. My friend had an issue with her drink and instead of just fixing the issue or offer to remake it, the same bartender came over to our table to interrogate her about if she wanted him to add more liquor to her drink "I'll just charge you for a double then" read more

Echo Spirits is a wonderful addition to the local spirits scene! They currently make rum, genever, and rye whiskey. You can buy their spirits and mixers in the shop next to the bar. While you are at it, be sure to take a seat and try some cocktails! I love that they feature local spirits in addition to their products. The cocktail menu is carefully curated and there is something for everyone. These are strong cocktails and are very reasonable priced. The staff provide great service and are happy to make recommendations. They often have food trucks on the weekends. Echo is a new favorite! read more

We are members of their club membership. We go to the meetings and use the 1 free drink card per month. We just go for the drinks. This last time the owner treated us with arrogance and contempt. The menu has the prices of the bottles next to the pours. I wanted a 2 oz pour. I pointed to the item on the menu and said I'll take the double - meaning the 2 Oz. The bartender took that as a 4 OZ pour which cost $30.00 instead of $15.00. When I looked at the bill it was too much. I asked why. She said I told her I wanted a double of the 2 OZ. Okay my mistake but she offered a refund for only a 2 Oz. I hesitated but excepted her offer. Well after this the owner comes out to ask me what happened and started to make me feel on the defensive. Not a good idea with a customer that just had 5 shots in 30 minutes. Of course I got into it with him but that never should have happened. Why escalate and argument with a repeat customer? They offered the refund and I accepted. Little did I know a verbal beatdown would need to be included. He could of avoided this since I did not ask to speak with him at all. At the meetings he also said that the members should always tip the staff with the free drinks. These are included in the membership so that is our decision not a requirement. It is not a friendly place to spend premium drink prices. Too many other places to go that does not treat customer like this. read more

This place is quite unique. I don't think I've been to a place in Columbus like it. I think it's the atmosphere that really sets it apart. They have a constant video stream of space on one TV and the ocean on the other. The lighting is a bit darker, moody. The music is light and calming. Not typically my go to atmosphere, but I could see how it could be calming and romantic for some. They have a great menu of craft cocktails that I'm sure are delicious but a beer sounded better to me that night so I unfortunately didn't try any. However, the bartenders seemed knowledgeable and experienced, I'm sure they would make a killer cocktail! Overall, a good experience. 4 stars just because the vibe was a little off for me. read more
