Who doesn't like a wide variety of different wines and beers? Who doesn't like samples of a few select draughts while you shop? Corner Stone opened just about a month ago on the corner of Parsons Ave and Oak St., and is brought to you by the owners of The Tavern (across from Yellow Brick Pizza). Feel free to build your own 6-pack from a vast selection of beers, grab a bottle (or two) of your favorite wine, and/or treat yourself to a 32/64oz Growler filled with a tasty draught! Prices are reasonable and it's a nice, little hole-in-the-wall place. Kevin, co-owner, is a cool guy and is more than willing to suggest a tasty beer or just chit-chat. For those of you who might accompany a friend and not like higher-end beers, they do have a section for your familiars. Support locals and spread the word about Corner Stone! Check out the Cbus Underground article (http://www.oldetowneeast.org/corner-stone-craft-beer-wine-now-open/). That's how I discovered a lot of the back story to this place.

Love this place and the staff. Owner hires good people and chooses great beer and wine to stock.

Solid selection for a quaint corner establishment. And masks are now optional, which is a good move. Thanks, Corner Stone!

Friendly staff. Good selection. Shop local. Only wish is they kept CBC IPA on the shelf at all times. Will definitely be back!

The staff helped me pick out outstanding local beers with which I was unfamiliar, including Seventh Son.

Love stopping here while visiting North Market. They have lots of beers and wines to purchase and…read moretake home but they also have a bar to grab a drink or a beer. The draft list is every changing and the cocktail list is solid. We tried a spritz on this visit which was nice and refreshing.

They were fairly full when we arrived, but we snagged a two-seater against the wall. There's LIMITED SEATING - so don't plan to come with a group of friends if your intent is to have a few beers at the bar. DO come in a group if you plan on getting food and beers and moving upstairs! We only wanted a couple drinks - and as the crowd was coming and going we didn't want to take up too much space. When I went up to order - they asked if I wanted a plastic cup to go! You can get a beer and peruse the market. Not our end-game this time, as I was planning to build a six-pack. Both ladies working were flying back and forth, taking care of people coming up to the bar, sitting at the bar, and every person that walked up to the register (some people were buying drinks to go, some in cups to walk, and a few people grabbed some of the limited seating present). They have a pretty decent selection of wines and beers available for purchase - some beers on shelves, and a decent selection in a cooler. I had narrowed down to a few choices, and I asked for suggestions and the bartender hopped over and lead the way, and talked about several beers with me (after the usual "what kind of beer do you like? question... which for me is, "yes, please."). She gave me excellent suggestions, and I moved from a 4-pack (you get a discount) to a (more discounts!) 6-pack. They have a GOOD selection for the North Market. It's not the best in the world, and it may not beat a place near where you live, but if you're in the North Market, and you want a good beer and good vibes in a little corner? The Barrel & Bottle has you covered.

Chateau Wine and Spirits to the rescue! But for real. It was Thanksgiving afternoon and my family…read moresuddenly had a craving for a cocktail. Unfortunately, we didn't have any of the ingredients needed to make it fun, if you know what I mean. We searched Yelp and found this spot rather close by. We decided to give it a try and were stoked to find that they were open... and busy at that. They had a great inventory of wine, liquor, beer, etc. and had exactly what we needed, prosecco, schnapps, vodka and fruit puree. I'll also add that despite how busy they were, the staff was great. They helped us find what we were looking for while we wandering around aimlessly trying to find the goods. Prices were right on money, too. I don't live in the area, but my sister does, and I have no doubt we'll be back when need be. #grateful

They have a good selection of stuff (I am a bourbon and cocktail person) but nothing amazing. What really frustrated me was around payment. They charge a fee if you use a card: their prices are the same as other stores who do not charge a fee to use a card. Anyways, I used a debit card and found out, after, I was charged a fee. They did offer to refund my charge and I could pay with cash but I did not have enough cash on me. In my experience, this is the ONLY store I have EVER been charged a fee for using a debit card or credit card. It just feels greedy.

This review would've been 5 stars based on my first visit yesterday, when I encountered friendly…read moreand congenial members of the staff who genuinely wanted to help customers find what they were looking for in the store. But after the experience I had today with a person whom I believe to be a manager, that was all soured. I felt accused and accosted personally, but more concerning was that I felt as if this manager was looking for a reason to make other staff members look bad for wanting to help a customer find what they were seeking. I'm a whiskey fan and it's widely known amongst the whiskey community that certain products that aren't available elsewhere are easier to find in the state of Ohio. Naturally I wanted to visit a few shops to see what I could find, and in a tip from a friendly bartender, I visited a store in Lima that shared some info about upcoming allocation release dates and suggested I check in Columbus because they might be releasing them sooner, and that's how I ended up here. We were greeted and welcomed in, and after perusing the shelf I asked for the bottle I hoped to find. A staff member shared that they did not have any currently available, but suggested I check back today (6/21) because it was expected and should be out in the morning after opening. I came in around 10:30am and saw this manager on the phone, having what appeared to be a fairly heated conversation, which abruptly ended when an apparent regular came in to shop. She chatted with him and the asked if I needed help so I asked for the bottle I hoped to find and watched as her demeanor rapidly changed. She snapped back with a short "no. We don't have any." To which I replied "Oh ok. Thank you. I was here yesterday and I as told it may be released today, so I thought I'd check since I can't get it at home." And then I proceeded to walk toward the door. Before I could walk out she quickly said "Sir. Who told you about it?" I said "excuse me?" "Which employee told you about it? They're not supposed to and I need to know for training purposes." The words were believable but the tone of voice said everything I needed to know. I told her I didn't remember, but instead of accepting my answer she continued to ask, and I continued to say I didn't remember. She went on to ask me to identify them by their hair, and eventually by race and I still said I didn't remember, at which point she stopped and let me leave. The whole experience was very uncomfortable and unnecessary. I understand why they want this to remain internal, but no harm came from the employee trying to help me as a customer, and questioning a customer like that did not feel right at all, and as a result I felt I needed to share the experience.
