I have passed this shop many times and wish I had checked it out much sooner. What a relaxing little wine room. We loved the wine taste vending station. You buy a card at the register and you use it for self service wine tastes in 1, 3, or 5 oz pours. I didn't love any of the whites I tried, but they had me at rosé selection! Purchased a bottle that came highly recommended and I'm looking forward to a nice chilled glass of pink goodness. The gentleman working was so helpful. They have a charming patio. Perfect place to spend a lazy sunny afternoon.

This has been on my list to check out for awhile now, so this weekend while waiting for candles to finish next door, we stopped in for some wine. First impression was that it was an impressive little space, there was wine stacked wall to wall! I also loved the little graphic in the front that helped describe the types of different wines. The man working met us in the middle of the shop and asked if we were looking for anything in particular, and I stated that I'd been wanting to stop in and it was our first time. He seemed less than pleased that we had a kid with us (very well-behaved 5 year old...I couldn't find anything online that this place wasn't kid friendly..) but didn't say anything more. After wandering around, we decided to try out the wine dispensers. There were two girls at the bar and the man working, and they all watched us as we looked at the machine confused. Eventually we had to ask for help (first time with one of these things!) and the man came over to (finally) show us how to work it. We each ended up doing the middle-option for two different wines, both of which we liked. I appreciated the descriptions above that give you an idea of what sort of flavors, body, etc to expect. I like the different size options but felt that it was a bit pricey on some of them. Overall, it was a good experience but I don't know if I'd return again "just because". Maybe I'll have to check out one of their tastings/happy hours as those seem to be a hit with all the cool kids!

I went here with my friend after we went to the gym. She wanted to try some new white wine and I was along for the ride. We came here because it was close to where we were. It it located in downtown worthington and the parking is terrible! We were lucky to get a spot. The atmosphere of the place is very inviting and light. They have a self serve wine bar which is awesome. You start a tab, get a wine card and use it to select and pour your wine. They have about 20 bottle to choose from ranging from a super sweet white to a dry robust red. I tried 3 small pours and two regular glasses. None of the wine was terrific, just ok. My friend didn't like any of the wine she chose. I did however buy two bottles for $6.99 each of a wine I already knew about. With the bottles my whole purchase was under $25 which I though was super cheap. All in all it was just ok.

I love House Wine. It's a great place to go with girlfriends for happy hour or dinner. Pick a bottle of wine and drink it there, or sample from the tasting machine in multiple ounce pours. What's great about the machine is it lets you taste expensive wine without buying the entire bottle. Not a wine drinker? No problem. They stock a cooler of great microbrews, or if you prefer...the champagne of beers! They recently added draught beer, which is a nice addition. Hungry? House Wine offers a wonderful cheese plate. You may also get carryout from Cafe Daniela next door, which is pretty good. I've noticed that their hours have changed and it's not always reliable to be open. They now offer a smaller menu from the Worthington Inn across the street. Call in your order and bring it over! The staff at House Wine is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Donnie is a pillar of information (as are the other employees!)---if you have any questions or have no clue what you should try within any price range, ask him!

Wine tastings are over-priced! Wine tastings are over-priced! Also, I never like the taste of wine from those machines.

Our server Kelcie, who was 5* by the way, helped us in navigating all the intricacies to the ingredients. Lots of nuance to the menu. Our choices: lamb appetizer, black cod, sirloin, and chocolate mousse; each were tasty, presented well, and excellent dishes. The potato cake on the steak was very different and well done. Our Old Fashion had a nice taste. The place is very small and reservations are a must. The GM Michael came by and chatted us up...to thank us for coming, and glad they were able to accommodate our food needs. Nice touch. Excellent bathrooms. Thanks for that. We were nervous at first because no one we talked to knew what Gene's was BUT we are SO SO SO glad we went! From the moment you step onto their property it was such an incredible experience. Who knew such a cute and quaint little restaurant could pack so much flavor and art into their food and such a personalized dining experience. While we had a reservation at 8:45, we decided to eat in at the bar after having the most incredible espresso martini of our lives and talking to John. My sister and I opted to share multiple courses - each of which was better than the last. It was an amazing experience and we were lucky enough to compliment and thank the executive chef in person. We left full and satisfied but not stuffed which is exactly what we were looking for! HIGHLY recommend Gene's if you're looking for an elevated dining experience and great service while in Dublin, Ohio!

For dinner we split the rigatoni (very popular per our waitress and we can see why - delicious and the short rib was tender and plentiful) and lasagna (special for the night and also quite good)! Half price bottles of wine (up to $50 off), but not a single Cabernet on the menu under $100 so I went with an old fashioned. It was good, but I was a bit surprised a fancy place like this wouldn't use big rocks. Daughter had the espresso martini which was excellent. Their bread is served with an oil and tomato concoction that was to die for. Actually, I'm not sure if it was tomatoes or peppers, but it was crazy good. I think they sell it by the jar. For dinner I had the chicken parm. The chicken itself was okay, with the breading falling off in places , not overly crispy. Also, not overly large, but just fine for one meal. I'm used to taking half of it home, but this was just a bit larger than a half portion I would usually relegate myself to. The game changer was the red sauce. Holy cow was it good! A bit sweat, full bodied, just delicious. I wish they bottled that to take home! It was that good and more than made up for the mediocre service. About that, the waiter was friendly enough, just not that bright or attentive. I had asked for crushed red pepper when I ordered the chicken parm, which he never brought. It seemed that we waited forever for the check, then after paying, I realized I never got my credit card back. Waited for the kid to come back around, but he must have gone to the can to burn a mule, as he was no where to be found. I walked over to the server area and saw my card lying on top of the card reader, which I retrieved on my own. Normally, this experience would irritate me to no end and result in a poor review, but that red sauce was just sooooo good. Will definitely come back and try something else in that same sauce. Oh, and happy birthday to me! The complementary chocolate moose and the presentation was perfect.

Appetizer - Coquille St. James Sea scallops, sauce, mashed potatoes... basically a fancy seafood shepherd's pie that your nostalgic inner child will absolutely high-five you for ordering.
