Food: sandwich was flavorful Service: quick and friendly Ambiance: perfect for getting shit done/wifi Kristina is the coolest barista in town and made the smoothest cappuccino that I've ever had. Their food also rocks. Excited to come back and try other options on their menu

We've actually been here three times in the past few weeks: once when accidentally just stumbling on it when walking around downtown Durham, once when we wanted a drink and bite when our power was out at home, and once for a private event with Offline Raleigh/Durham. All three times we had interesting drinks, good food, and pleasant conversations with the owners, staff and fellow patrons. They offer coffee in the morning, baked goods from various local vendors, light bites and sandwiches, and also bottles and gifts to go. We enjoyed their bread and hummus, turkey melt, and unique selection of beer and cider. One evening, we had their cake and beer pairing (yule log and a stout) and that was wonderful. The vibe is very relaxed and friendly, and there were a few families with young kids. We will be back.

What an amazing place! When you walk in, you'll be greeted by the most friendly staff, known to man! The open floor plan, and well decorated space is warm and inviting. This is a great place for a cup of coffee in the morning, or a Goat & Fig sandwich for lunch-- which I recommend enjoying with prosciutto. The salty prosciutto was an excellent compliment to the the perfectly paired goat cheese and sweet fig jam. The DRAM sparkling water was so yummy and refreshing. Do try one! Any flavor!

Fantastic cafe and lunch spot!! I stumbled upon this place after the library was too crowded but I needed somewhere to plug in my laptop and work. I sat at the bar and enjoyed getting a little view of the magic happening behind the counter as I worked. Really reasonably priced food, this whole sandwich and salad with tasty quality ingredients was only $11 and my iced tea not pictured was $3. Would definitely return if I find myself in the area again because they had so many drinks I want to try!

I have found a new place I love in downtown Durham. Great beer selection and incredibly attentive service. Everyone was so nice.

Cute place. They have wifi and plenty of electrical outlets. I got the chickpea salad. Service was friendly and quick.

Hummus/red pepper/feta sandwich, side salad, amazing house-made hummus

Brewery #455 Atomic…read moreClock Brewing is a very nice place that had very good beer, particularly their hazies. I got a flight of beer and ordered a Beef on Wick with fries. The bartender while nice was kind of flighty, just lacked awareness of the amount of people waiting to get beer. My flight consisted of A Belgian, Schrodinger's Pale Ale, and 2 hazy IPAs. The Critical Mass (DIPA) and Atomichron (hazy) were both phenomenal. Then we waited almost an hour for the Beef on Wick to come out. It's literally just a roast beef sandwich with fries. The food was great, but the wait was insane. Great beer, good food, nice people but just not in any kind of hurry.

So wrong. This place is the absolute worst. It's so unfortunate because the place is beautiful and has potential. I've learned my lesson and there will not be a third time. We attempted to sit at a table for 8 but the chairs are oversized and the tables are far too close together. We had to remove two chairs to even attempt to slide across the chairs because you cannot pull them out to sit down. It's extremely difficult and uncomfortable to have to slide all the way out to let people in and out. Not user friendly at all. I wanted to order a beer but just like last time they didn't have any beer I'd ever drink which is saying a lot as I will drink anything that's not an IPA or super yellow. So I ordered the Rosè margarita but the male bartender told me they were out of that drink. Impossible. I could see both rosè and tequila from where I was standing. A female bartender overheard the male bartender lying to me and she said she would make the margarita for me. Hmmmmmmmm. So one honest bartender and one who lies because he only wants to pour beers. Thanks for solidifying that I was right to say I'd never be back to this awful establishment.

DSSOLVR was our final stop on the food and drink tour, and we wrapped things up with just drinks,…read morewhich worked out perfectly. It's very much a beer bar, the kind of place where you can stare at the tap list for a minute or two and still feel like you missed something. I had no trouble finding a draft and my friend found a cider she liked, so everyone was happy. And since it was one of those huge pours, we took the rest to go, which is one of the perks of being in Durham's Social District. I've got a separate review about that, but the short version is that carrying your beer down the street feels oddly civilized. It's a fun spot with board games and a relaxed vibe. The outside seating area is pretty cool, even if the view is mostly the street and buses rolling past. Inside or out, there are plenty of beer options on tap and in cans or bottles, so odds are good that you'll find something you enjoy. It was a nice was to end the tour and wind down the afternoon. While they don't have a kitchen, they do have snacks including ramen tubs and such that you can microwave on site. [Review 1168 of 2026 - 4817 in North Carolina - 26347 overall]

Brewery # 456 I had…read morebeen to the Dssolvr in Asheville a few years ago and I loved it. It was packed in Asheville, so my experience was rushed, but I remember having a great hazy and I loved their brand stickers (Cornholio and a zombie looking Bart Simpson) . Fast forward 4 years and I am in Durham on a random weekday afternoon. My buddies and I had the place to ourselves. This time I was able to get a flight. The lovely new bartender recommended the Absolutely Extraterrestrials Mexican Stout that had an ABV of 13%! I think she was trying to get me drunk! Anywho, I also got the Kolsch and 2 IPAs on the flight. They were all great but the stout (absolutely delicious and complex) and the Love Computer DIPA were my favorites. Dssolvr didn't have food and no food truck when I was there but there are plenty of places in the area. The beer is phenomenal and I wish we had time to get another flight to try more. However, Durham has a lot of breweries for such a small area, so we had to hop around. Any brewery hop in Durham or Asheville has to involve Dssolvr.
