Harvest Spice latte, Morning bun
Andrea A.

I've been wanting to visit Caffe Driade for a long time and finally got the chance to do so! Nestled within a beautiful wooded area, this is such a special coffee spot that is well worth the drive from Durham. I got the Harvest Spice Latte hot (2 shots espresso, steamed milk & house-made pumpkin spice syrup made with real pumpkin puree, raw sugar & pumpkin spice) and a Morning Bun. The latte was tasty admittedly, but not sure I got the pumpkin essence clearly. I was impressed that even with the bun not being warm, it was still flaky and enjoyable. There's a good amount of parking, lots of outdoor seating, some inside seating. Definitely recommend walking on the adjacent trail afterwards. Service was fast and friendly. 10/10 would recommend!

You can walk to the adorable cafe in the trees, have the best almond croissant ever, wash it down with a London fog and pet a million dogs

I've been wanting to come here for a while and my first time did not disappoint! The location is as beautiful as everyone makes it out to be and they have plenty of seating options. I love that the cafe connects to walking trails, and my friends and I had a lot of fun exploring the area. Ordering did take a bit of time because there was a long line and their mobile ordering was down, but the baristas were efficient and the drinks came out quick. The workers were friendly, calm, and in good spirits despite the never ending line, so kudos to them for that. l ordered an almond milk latte and a vegan pumpkin bar which were both delicious and paired together perfectly. I had a great time here and will for sure be back soon! Can't even be mad about the long line because we love to see a small business doing well.

I would be a regular here if I lived in the chapel hill area. This place is AMAZING. The seating options outdoors and indoors are phenomenal with a trail right on the doorsteps of the coffee shop. The staff is so kind and the drinks were made super fast. My shake was amazing. I wish I could have one every day.

Cute location, love that it's right off a walking trail and you can meet up with people for coffee and a walk. There's also a small parking lot that's relatively private. My biggest gripe is MAN it is expensive. $6 for a latte or similar coffee seems a lot. So I opted for a hot chocolate which was ok- for like $4 instead. The baristas are always nice and pretty quick but I can't come here too often because it's just expensive. I'll have to look into $4-5 options for coffee next time. They have a great back seating area with a pretty forest view so it's really nice to sit and sip or take your drink and walk!

My first visit was quite disappointing and disturbing. The atmosphere is charming and unique. BUT a barista, (description for proper identification- a young female, small in stature with a shaved head under her uniform cap) is aggressively hostile. After ordering at the indoor counter by another pleasant Staff member who gave me my pastry and told me the drink would be picked up outside, with no other instructions, it was brought by the aforementioned bitter barista and in this case, plopped with a resentment, at a bare plastic table with no lids, no sugar, creamers, stirring sticks, anything but right around the corner from it, inside by the actual counter are vessels with various items powders squeeze bottles with syrup, no signage, just various containers. I picked up the syrup bottle to put the sweetener in my coffee. When I put it down, she grabbed it from the aggressively from that table and made a point of slamming it down behind another counter. I said to her after tasting my decaf that I wasn't finished with it she said "that's not a station". I said it looks like it and she said "yeah it's not" and when I asked where when we get those things, she flipped me off because told her , "you could be helpful but you're not". Her response was to flip me off. The coffee may be good , but the service is definitely not. Looks like Management needs HR to step in.

Beautiful hidden spot with great views, and connected to a trail in the back. Pet friendly spot. First time coming here. I ordered a latte with a chocolate croissant. They have Carrboro Coffee for sale here as well. Service was friendly and fast. Plenty of space to sit outdoors and a bit smaller inside, but it had tables as well. The sugar, water, and extras like napkins, etc are all outside in the back, which is great because it makes you explore their beautiful location and the woods. That's also where the trail is located. I did venture down the trail to a paved path and asked walkers where did the trail go to. They said 2.5 miles to Umstead Park and a short distance to the Community Center. So will definitely be back to walk that next time. Worth checking out.

Cortado

Ordered cortado, told the cashier im having it at the dining area hoping it be on a proper cortado glass... he didnt care i guess Coffee was okay, saw extraction a bit fast but acceptable and decent. Way better than regular starbucks Croissant was a bit hard dry. Al fresco seating are is a plus!!

Pitiful half cup of cold brew for $8

Ok, so I ordered a large cold brew without ice to drink later on in the day. And what did I get for almost $8? A HALF FULL cup... Very pathetic and a rip off. I understand leaving some room for ice but it was hardly half full. Definitely not a way to keep customers coming back in this economy.

This place is the absolute cutest! It reminds me of a little greenhouse in the middle of the woods. It is tucked away by a lot of trees and has a large outdoor seating area. The staff was very friendly and even gave me helpful suggestions when making my order. Something I thought was very unique was that they brought the coffee to our table when it was ready! I will definitely be visiting again.

The service was excellent, with energetic young students from UNC who know the menu well and team up to cover each other. Our server was engaging and knowledgeable about the food and the wine choices. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. I will say that the booths are close together, so we could hear the conversations at tables behind and in front of us. It kept us entertained. We had: - the dates stuffed with pistachios and wrapped in bacon - the flounder - the steak with chimichuri - the olives - pan con tomate - potatoes bravas - tuna ceviche - crumble - cinnamon cake It was all very good. The best dishes were the potatoes bravas and the steak. Th rest was pretty mediocre. We had a broke of white Rioja--it went well with the food and was a good deal at $56.

Tried some more traditional tapas but with a twist, such as the outstanding Alubia Blanca, Gambas and Jamon. the Zanahorias were excellent, even had the Cubano, not Spanish traditional but still well done. Fortunately there was room for the chocolate cremeux, decadently rich. Loved the counter seating to view the busy prep action. Reservations are best, otherwise you're taking a chance without one. Super casual, savory dishes, and maybe my new favorite restaurant in CH.

The ambiance felt fresh and inviting, which I appreciated--especially because there were no lingering bar or leftover food odors that sometimes affect restaurant spaces. The staff was welcoming and pleasant, offering friendly interaction while also giving guests the space to relax and enjoy their meal. It made for a very comfortable, quiet Friday afternoon experience. I could have lingered longer. Overall, a delicious meal and a place I'd happily return to.

The menu prices seemed a tiny bit high until I read the note that the restaurants had raised the menu prices to make gratuity "truly optional," so that's totally fine. We started off our meal with some complimentary bread, which was honestly pretty mediocre. It was a very tiny portion and the accompanying olive oil just tasted like... olive oil. It felt like the bread was store-bought or something, which isn't the end of the world, but combined with the portion size, it was just a little surprising for a nice restaurant. For my entree, I got the steak frites, and they were very good! The steak was cooked medium rare as requested. I also got some truffle aioli on the side (suggested by the food busser!) and it was pretty tasty too. My wife got the beet and kale lasagna and she really enjoyed it, although it wasn't really enough food as an entree :) Beer selection was OK but nothing crazy good. I asked for the non-alcoholic IPA and they were out of it, which was kind of a bummer. Also, when we were paying our bill, the automated system still asked us for a gratuity without any warning about the gratuity being baked into the menu prices, so that was a little surprising but not a huge deal. Overall, I liked Glasshalfull and would definitely consider coming back.

The wine list is broad and thoughtfully curated, with options that feel approachable whether you're a casual wine drinker or someone looking to try something new. The sommeliers were welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping us find something we loved. The space itself is adorable, with eclectic décor and cozy lighting that makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile. It's a great spot for conversation and a relaxed evening with friends. The only downside is that the space is fairly small, and I would have loved to see one or two more lower seating options for small groups rather than mostly high tops. That said, I could absolutely see us coming back for a pre- or post-theater glass of wine or an easy catch-up night.

The service is awesome--our server was super friendly and gave me a great drink recommendation when I wasn't sure what I wanted. It ended up being perfect. My friend and I shared a glass of the 2023 Cederberg Bukettraube (sweet white wine) and got the charcuterie board for one with the truffle salami. That board was so good--I can't stop thinking about it. The toasted baguette slices with truffle salami and mustard? Unreal. It was the perfect little snack to share. We also had the citrus lavender crème brûlée, which was surprisingly delicious. I don't usually go for crème brûlée, but this one was light, not overly sweet, and just had a really nice flavor. I've also tried their shepherd's pie before and loved it--wish it was still on the menu! The vibe inside is moody and cozy, and they've got a cute outdoor patio too. Overall, such a great spot. A little pricey, but I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend checking out Killer Queen.
