Got my 4-year-old a haircut and it came out great! I called ahead of time to see if they could take…read morewalk-ins, and they did. I usually cut my son's hair but we had grown a mullet and I didn't want to mess it up, especially since my son has really dark, stubborn Asian hair - it'd be easy to find the imperfections. The lady who cut his hair was fast (took probably 20 min total). She knew exactly what kind of cut I wanted (2 block hair cut). And because his hair was so long in the back, she double checked before cutting that I wanted to cut it off (much appreciated!). My son's hair was short on the top so she didn't cit length but did blend it (see pics). The place itself was clean and spacious. The cut itself was $45 without a wash, which is a couple dollars cheaper than other places I was looking up. I'd come here again.

Before the haircut, I clearly explained that I had just gotten my hair cut at another salon two…read moredays earlier and that I wasn't looking for a completely new haircut--I only wanted some adjustments to achieve the style shown in the photos of me before. I specifically asked if the stylist understood the issue and knew what needed to be done, and I was assured that they did. Unfortunately, once the haircut started, there was no communication about how much hair would be removed. The very first cut on the sides was much shorter than I expected, and at that point there was no way to undo it. If the stylist had explained their approach or confirmed the length with me first, I would have had the opportunity to say that it wasn't what I wanted. What disappointed me most wasn't just the final result--it was the lack of communication. When a customer brings reference photos and asks questions beforehand, I expect the stylist to explain the plan and make sure we're aligned before making irreversible changes. I left feeling that my concerns and the reference photos were not really taken into account. I hope the salon can improve communication with customers in the future so others don't have the same experience.

I have been meaning to get around to leaving a review from one of the places that always sparks joy…read morefor me... Salon Sur La Rue. I followed Jenny from her previous salon because I dont trust just anyone with my hair. I have even moved across the bay and still choose to come to her for everything because she is that good. Anyone who says this salon is overpriced has truly not looked around at multiple places for the same services. If you want Supercuts prices, then by all means go there. The quality of service you get from Salon Sur La Rue and the handwork delivered is worth every penny... and know that it is not on the high end of the market. Jenny truly knows how to create the haircut and color exactly how I want it every time. I used to bring pictures for inspiration, and she always takes the time to let me know what will or wont work for me. Whether it is a full highlight fresh for summer, or cutting it a bit shorter than usual and adding tons of layers she is up for the challenge. The owner Amy always greets me with her welcoming smile and checks in on me during my visits. Such a sweet and friendly atmosphere adds to the charm of this place. She has also done my hair on a few occasions when Jenny was on vacation and I was very, very happy with her highlights and haircut too. This place has skills! Thank you Amy and Jenny for taking care of us gals. As long as you take good care of us, we will keep coming back again and again. When I leave, I always end up feeling prettier than when I walked in the door. And THAT means something to me. This salon gives great hair, and I am here for it!

She knows her stuff and cuts it exactly like the pictures I show her. The salon itself is nice and they have a good range of products to purchase. I love that they offer tea and coffee. There's always parking which is a huge plus. I will keep coming back as long as Naz is there.

The overall experience has a lot going for it, and the value becomes even more attractive when you consider the convenience. Parking on weekdays is also a nice benefit, since you do not have to pay for parking during the week. What I especially appreciate is the attention being given to training, particularly for the front of house staff and reception team. The receptionist and front of house experience can really set the tone for the entire visit. Clients should feel welcomed, acknowledged, and taken care of from the moment they arrive. The improvements in service and attention to the client experience are noticeable. It's always great to see a place you already enjoy investing in its people and raising its standards rather than simply relying on its existing reputation. Overall, it's exciting to see one of my go to places improve while continuing to put its clients first.

I was very clear to use a 3.5 length clip guard, he cut my hair down to the scalp on the back and sides. It looks ridiculous, like the hair cut of a 5 year old. I was very clear, 4 times, NO PART in my scalp and he still tried to put one in. I finally ran my fingers in my hair removing the part and said, "like this, no part". I was clear, I wanted a medium length hair cut ,NOT A BUZZ CUT, and he still gave me one any way! I honestly don't understand how companies stay in business when they don't listen to the customer. If I could give less than one star I would.

I did balayage without bleaching since I only wanted some subtle, warm, natural looking highlights. Su did such a great job; she was both detailed and efficient, while also chatting with all her customers. It's so impressive the operation that these ladies run, and it's fun to be at their studio! This is my new favorite salon, highly recommend!

Situation: Color Correction *see photos*…read more Background: Bad balayage at another at Stilo Salon, by the owner no less, and turned out nowhere near the inspiration photos I brought in. I was hoping for beige highlights and got bright blonde. I asked for a refund and was only offered a "fix it at no cost". I declined. Intervention: Reached out to Vance who did my hair in the past. Don't ask me why I just didn't come back. Vance was able to see me pretty quick and did an AMAZING job!! He gave me beige highlights and darkened the base which I just love. I'm tanned skin so the blonde highlights was not flattering. Evaluation: I am forever grateful for Vance. He is very skilled at his craft. The result was exactly what I was hoping for from the very beginning when I stepped into the other salon. Note to self....i will never see any other stylist. I highly recommend Vance if you're looking for a highly skilled professional that will make you leave his chair feeling confident and amazing about your hair!!!
