I've gotten haircuts at Debe Salon before that were good so I decided to get a balayage here based on reviews that the pricing was reasonable. Let me tell you that this place was the MOST I've ever paid for hair coloring and balayage in my life and I've gone to Master hair colorists at luxury salons in the bay area too. Did the prices for hair products increase with Trump too??!? Sheesh. They were nice, talked me through the right shade for the balayage according to my skin tone and then she proceeded to take out a calculator to show me the cost. I was pretty shocked to see the cost, but I already made arrangements to get my hair colored that day so I begrudgingly agreed to proceed. Maybe I should have negotiated or asked if that total included tip? My hair is medium length and layered and the ash blonde/brown came out really nice, but I am still kicking myself for paying this much. I would have expected a nice head massage, complimentary tea or something for paying this much with a balayage, but it was a professional balayage with basic service/experience. read more

Overcharged and undelivered !!! I came in for the first time about a month ago looking to get highlights done. Showed my inspo pictures and made it very clear I wanted cool tone brown, Joanne said that will work and gave me a quote for over $500! I thought that was excessive at first but trusted her word that she could make it happen and I was very excited. They got to work and everything was fine, until they finally washed out the bleach and my roots were glowing yellow while the rest of my hair was orange!! This is something I imagine would happen with $10 bleach from CVS, not with the $500 bleach they charged me for. They ended up putting more bleach on my hair to try and fix the mess, ended up staying in that salon for nearly 6 hours for some highlights. They put toner in my orange mess of hair and told me that it would all be okay. WRONG! When they finally washed the toner out, my hair was still extremely warm and orange with lighter roots! As she was drying my hair I had asked her if this is for real $500 dollars, and she proceeded to tell me how much work they put in to make me "happy" when over half of the time I spent sitting on my ass waiting and waiting for them to fix that mess!! I complained about the fact that my roots were obviously lighter than the rest of my hair, and she offered a free toner for next visit. That was all she was willing to give so I came in yesterday to get it. She told me to come in at 1:30 and I came 5 minutes early just to sit around and wait 45 more minutes to finally be seated in the salon chair! I can tell she was irritated that I actually came to get the free toner she offered, when she finally applied the toner she sat me in the uncomfortable hair washing station chair for so long I started to think they forgot about me! She blowdried my hair super roughly and NOT to my surprise, my hair looked damn near exactly how it did when I came in. Overall, I don't know if it's the products they use or just an unfortunate hairstylist, but this place is an absolute waste of time, money, and expectancy of service. Once again, they had me paying over $500 for my hair to look horrendous! This was frustrating because I'm a teenager treating myself to a new hairstyle for back to school, just for it not to turn out anything like I wanted. I've had so many amazing hair colorists make my hair fantastic and I never ever had to pay this much money! Is this place taking advantage of young girls and their ignorance? I'm literally ginger! This is what I get for trying out a new salon. Sorry not sorry! Is there a way to leave 0 stars? read more

This review is for Feng! I just want to say he is so good!!! I came in one time for an emergency haircut and he fixed my hair perfectly. He is a master at cutting layers and long face framing bangs! Everybody gave me so many compliments and I am just so in love with my hair every time he cuts it. He is precise and thorough and pays attention to detail to make sure each cut is perfect and balanced. He truly is a master at his craft. He gave me the most perfect cut - bouncy layers, full of volume, face framing bangs! Also the grow out process was so nice, it still looked good like a few months later and kept looking better because of how he cut it. He takes his time to make sure everything is perfect and it was! Thank you Feng! Scheduling my next appt with him now! read more

Angel assisted me immediately as I walked in! She was very nice, understanding and listened to my needs. I was on a time crunch so she took me right in, and finished my hair 30 minutes later perfectly. I'm definitely coming here again, not only was Angel amazing but the salon was so clean and gave off a nice ambience. One thing I really appreciated Angel for was that she styled my bangs just the way I style it at home. read more

The woman who did me and my daughters hair was spectacular! She was so good that my daughter said she was obsessed!

Need to be more transparent about their pricing practices. The hair stylists are great. They give good haircuts, are friendly and professional. They communicate well with you. I particularly like Angel. She is great. BUT! The listed price is never what they will charge you and I'm sure it's a store policy thing that the stylists are pushed to do. If the board says $55, you will be charged at least $70, even with shorter hair. I saw this happen with every client that came through, they always expressed shock at the register. To be honest, I'd be willing to pay for a $70 from their stylists if they were upfront with the price since they ARE good but something about the way they do this always makes you walk away feeling cheated. They should just be more straightforward about it. Other salons put something like a price for short hair and then a price for long hair and stick to that. Putting a low price and then writing "and up based on work" is bound to mislead customers and lead to disagreements. read more

I needed a new place for a haircut and decided to give Debe Salon a try based on the reviews. I did make an appointment online with any stylist which made it easy to find a time that works. I walked in 5 min early and I was greeted by staff and was immediately set up with Angel. The salon was busy and the stylists were with customers who sound like regulars based on conversations I heard which to me was a good sign. I enjoyed the shampoo cause received a mini scalp massage and the wash chairs were great with these neck supports that make it comfortable for shorter folks. I showed Angel a picture of a style I wanted with layers and I got exactly what I wanted. Also the cost was fair--women's haircuts start around $50 per website and I was charged $75 plus tipping 20% ($90) which was fair. I think I found my new place and next time try one of their hair treatments. Thanks for a great experience! read more

I come to Angel. She's great, fuss free, and does great work. She's practical and has good ideas. I was coming to her after a couple bad hair jobs. Loved her work. She experimented and got a perfect hair color to cover my greys after a few tries. The vibe is chill of this salon. Nothing too fancy or crazy. Worth the money. A simple, clean, fuss free neighborhood salon. See the before after. read more

Sent my daughter to this place because of the good reviews I had read and she just needed a simple trim. My daughter expressed to me how uncomfortable she was during the whole appointment. When her hair was being washed by Angel she smacked the towel on her face and was being pretty rough with her and when she was asked to move to the chair to get her hair cut she nudged her pretty hard on the back to get up two times. Angel was very rough during the blow drying process as well and didn't use any heating products. The haircut took about 15 minutes total. The price on their website stated $55 and up for a women's haircut and per other reviews I knew it was not going to be $55 and sure enough the price was $75 when she was done. She didn't get anything special just a trim which I wouldn't mind paying if she got good service and treatment. Unfortunately I can not recommend this business. read more

It's me again. I got my hair cut on Oct 17 and it looked ok when I left. However, after living with it for a few days I am very unhappy. The girl who cut my hair never asked me how short or how long I want it. She just started cutting. When I got home and really looked at the back it is so short, way up to the hair line and it's even uneven on the right side. I am exstremely unhappy and can't wait until my hair grows out which will take some time. I won't be coming back. read more

Chestnut brown balayage done by Joanna. I appreciate fitting me in on short notice. The results are absolutely stunning! The color blends so beautifully and the highlights are just perfect. I couldn't be happier with how my hair turned out. Thank you so much, Joanna, for your talent and for accommodating me last minute. I will definitely be coming back for future hair appointments! read more

Absolutely LOVE this shop!! The team here does an excellent job on all of their services but Joanne is truly top tier. My boyfriend has been seeing her for years and she never disappoints. You can tell she's put in the time to really master her craft, from her coloring service to cuts, her dedication to her clients shows!! I went to beauty school and I'm very particular when choosing a stylist to work with but this is definitely my new go to salon, I highly recommend you give this shop a chance read more

I was long overdue for a haircut and wanted to find a place familiar with hair donations. The owner was knowledgeable about the requirements and ensured all the proper measurements were taken before the stylist, Angel, began. I'm often hesitant about haircuts, especially since I'm not used to having short hair. However, Angel did an incredible job--so much so that I think I'll stick with this length in the future. Thank you Angel and the team for such a thoughtful and professional experience! read more

The most disappointing salon experiences I've ever had. I was in town for a funeral and needed a last-minute blowout. I was relieved to find an appointment online that worked with my schedule. However, when I arrived, I was told by the stylist that they had no idea about my booking--and worse, they don't even do blowouts. Apparently, the owner schedules appointments on behalf of stylists without confirming with them first. I explained that I was preparing for a funeral and that time was sensitive. Instead of offering comfort or a solution, the stylist vented about his own issues with the owner. I was already emotional and ended up in tears during the appointment, yet there was no compassion shown by anyone. To make matters worse, I was still charged $60, despite the stylist admitting he didn't know what to do with my hair. Another stylist nearby did know how to do a blowout but refused, saying she didn't want to risk locking her shoulder working with my hair type. In the end, my hair was fried and I left feeling even worse than when I walked in. This experience was not just unprofessional--it was deeply upsetting during an already difficult time. I would never return and cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

I recently got my makeup and hair done at this salon by Joanne. The makeup was absolutely horrible!!!!!!!! LOOKED LIKE A 5 YEAR OLD DID IT. First she didnt even ask me for inspo pics and just did whatever she wanted despite me verbally vocalizing what I was looking for which was a face full glam. I just wanted natural eye shadow, I brought my own lashes and I wanted full face with heavy contouring especially on nose so it looks good for pics. I even brought the foundation shade I use at home so she can match to the professional product I thought the salon would have but instead all she did was apply Moisturizer, use my OWN foundation I brought, then applied glitter eyeshadow with her fingers, applied eyeliner then used a powder to touch it up and then applied lipstick and lipliner and lipgloss and thats it. I do my own full face at home and there was no contouring done, or bronzer or skin prep or anything most MUA's do. I get makeup done a lot so I know she had no idea how to do makeup. The products also looked very cheap like dollar brands. Not to mention my lips even looked like a two year old did it. She was not hygienic and used old brushes and applied the lipstick and liner straight from the tubes, she didnt even bother to ask what lipstick color I wanted. Not to mention I made the appointment for 10am she texted me asking if I want to come in at 9:15am instead I said sure and she MADE ME WAIT HALF AN HOUR!! Didn't start on me till 9:45am. I'm only giving two stars instead of 0 because she gave me a hair wash and straight blowout after I told her now shes made me late to my hair appointment but she was so rough and it was hurting my head the whole time. I'm someone who gets makeup done and blowouts all the time and this is the absolute worst service ive ever received, I never ever leave reviews but I had to because the makeup was not worth $90 to look like a toddler did it. Do better debe salon. Absolutely horrible. read more

I arrived on time for my appointment with Angel at 12:30 and finished shortly before 1pm. She washed and cut my hair within 30 mins?? It felt really rushed and the cut shows considering how botched it looks. I asked for a long layered cut but the layers turned out uneven and choppy. The layers weren't blended, bangs were uneven with one side thicker and longer than the other, and my hair was also uneven. I did go back couple hours later for her to even out the back, however, it STILL wasn't the haircut I wanted. The back was evened out a little more but the layers still weren't blended together so it still looks really choppy and the back of the hair was completely straight with no visible layers. read more

Terrible experience. Arriving on time on the day of my scheduled appointment, Jessica the stylist set me to sit on the side, saying she had to finish something for another guest. My first visit and I am super impressed! Key highlights: extremely well run salon, professional team, nice people, and they value your hair and time. I scheduled my appointment with Joanne. She is very professional and it took me no time to realize that she is very experienced too. I didn't have to explain much to her, she understood right away what I wanted with my - hair color and haircut. She and her team member ensured that I was always attended to and there was no wait period between various steps. Be it hair color shade, understanding the nature of hair on a first time appointment to a meticulous haircut, she did it all expertly. They are definitely very experienced and professional people but one thing that deserves special mention is - how patiently and politely they attend to you during all the steps and don't rush through. I am so happy that I have found Joanne and this salon. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but DO NOT come here if you want to be treated like a valued customer or get a good haircut. Almost $200 and 3 HOURS for an unprofessional, disrespectful, and incredibly frustrating experience from the owner herself... Joanne left me with dye in my hair for over an hour (after saying it would be 30 minutes) while she worked on someone else's haircut. Then she started on a second haircut for someone who had just arrived, before finally doing my pixie cut on already short hair at 4:00 PM--for my 2:30 appointment! She rushed through a SLOPPY, choppy cut, pausing and taking her sweet time to take pictures and videos of her employees haircut next to us which was getting done by another employee. It was a horrible start to the wonderful holiday week and gave us such bad energy being there read more
