They use these lie flat chair/beds that are super comfortable, and your neck isn't tilted back at an awkward angle. Wish other salons would use them too! I've been going to Jamie at Maison Deux for many years now, and every time I leave I feel amazing (whether it's getting any of these done: root color, cut, balayage). Amazing cuz of how I look and feel but also it's just a great place to spend a couple hours too. All of the stylists are so welcoming, and there is a definite friendly vibe had by all. Jamie is of the best, and her work says it all! She always greets me with a smile, and I just love how down-to-earth she is. Another fun perk too - getting served tea, coffee, water - while you're waiting for dye processing etc. Oh and the salon, now under Jamie, has upgraded all of the hair washing stations. I was literally in heaven. They are these fancy beds basically so you're lying flat instead of having to angle your head downwards. Felt so much better on my back. I highly recommend Maison Deux for the work the stylists do and the friendly atmosphere. I just want to update the review here in regards to how sweet the management is. I was clearly unhappy with the cut and they reached out to me several times on different ways to help me such as a refund, treatments and a new cut. It was out of my way since I live in the city and I respect their business so I didn't go in for a refund or anything of the nature. I fixed the issue elsewhere. I do want to say though that its proven they are a great company who care about their clients. I just had a bad experience here. I'd maybe give them another shot down the road. Had my hair highlighted by Liz on extremely short notice- thank you! I called on a Thursday and was able to get an appt that Saturday. I have a lot of hair and it's long. Usually I'll be in a salon apx 5.5-6+ hours. My appointment was at 1pm; I was out of there by 530; I highly appreciate this! Plenty of refreshments! Fruit infused water to tea, to wine-yum! I will go back to Liz and I am beyond happy with my color. I don't have a great picture of my hair specifically at the time- so I posted what I have which is in sunli Let's note: All stylists manage their own books and give their own mobile numbers. From my understanding there is no specific person answering phones. So anyone that complained about this in previous posts do not know much about salons. To be brutally honest, I didn't want to write this review. When I found this place, I read the reviews and was honestly excited to go here. I had an appointment with Brianna. The screenshot is what I wanted, that's me after everything. I just wanted a simple three color balayage done to me. The colors don't match whatsoever, when she cut my hair she just cut straight behind me. Luckily my bangs were cut good... My biggest issue was the entire process. My roots were grown out and the rest of my hair was a faded silver blue. I will not deny, there was a lot of work to be done. She bleached my hair super light, to turn out this dark. During the bleaching process, my scalp was burning. I've bleached my roots many times before and never have I felt this pain. The next day I had scabs all over my scalp. It felt as if I had a skin disease. I feel it wouldn't of scabbed that much if she didn't rub the bleach into my scalp. I'm no professional and I've messed up my hair myself, but I know you're not supposed to rub bleach on the scalp. To be honest, I want my money back but I don't want to set foot inside there ever again. The hair cut was lazy, the bleach was rubbed into my scalp. Now I'm dealing with flakes for awhile. read more

The right side of my hair is longer than my left side. Extremely poor craftsmanship, Margaret doesn't listen to what you want, rather she will assume. Went to management, she doesn't care, she'll tell you she doesn't have any other stylist to help you and you need to go back to the same stylist to finish the botched job. Disappointed I was excited to finally getting a purple balayage. Saw this has fairly good reviews and ratings so I booked it on 7/8. Brianna was my stylist she was nice and not very chatty which i like. She was focus and took her time. I showed her the photo i found online in vibrant purple. Then She bleached my hair once, it become fairly light orange. After 4 hours sitting there, bleached, washed, dyed and wash again, cut and curled. I noticed some spots between black top and the really dark purple bottom, it's still showing sort of brownish orange, but we thought it might be the lighting in the salon. I waited 36 hours and washed my hair, then the orange became very visible all around my head, between natural color and bottom color. So I texted Brianna and she told me to go in and dyed my hair again. After the second dyed on 7/10, it was a very dark blue-ish purple that was hard to tell unless in bright room or outside. I wash my hair once every 2 days because I don't want to be blame for washing too much for the color to fade away. But 2 weeks after that, the color is pretty much gone, and weird. 8/8 less than a month: Now My hair is 75% black, 15% golden brown, and 10% purple and blue mix....for the cost of $270. I don't know if i should go for a 3rd dyed, for probably getting the same result, plus might further damage my hair. I'm guessing that she was suppose to bleach my hair twice then color, but they didn't want to give me 2 sessions. I do not recommend anyone with dark hair who wants to color their hair here. I need to figure out how and where to fix my hair color. read more

I have been going to Richard Plombon at Maison Deux for almost 4 years and finally I'm getting around to posting this review for his work. I have an asymmetrical cut and really fine, straight hair. Assymmetrical cuts are super difficult, but when you combine that with really fine, straight hair, which shows EVERYTHING, you get an extremely challenging hair cut. Richard has consistently made me look amazing and I have gotten so many compliments from people when they see my hair. In fact, I've referred at least 3 people to Richard because they love my hair and insist on knowing who cuts. Also need to mention that Richard is super professional, really listens, and really conscientious--he makes sure you are happy. I've been on the search for years to find a hair stylist that can get my hair exactly the way I want it. I found Maison Deux through Yelp, and decided to give the place a try! My first appointment was made with Liz!! Liz made me feel super comfortable in a new salon! We discussed where my hair is at, and where I want it to be. Liz's advice was to come in and dye my hair in sessions so it wouldn't be dried out from the bleach. After my first session I loved my hair!!! Went again for my second session with Liz, to go even lighter/ add more grey and ash, and I loved it! Liz is a great stylist, and is super easy to talk to and feel comfortable with! I would highly recommend going to Liz, and booking your next appointment with her!! I had an appointment with Jamie, to get partial highlights. We had spoken on the phone in length and agreed to a price. She had helped Monica, with picking the right color mixes for me once before. Before my appointment day I text Jaime, to ask how much she would charge to just trim the bottom of my hair and she responded she charges $75, for haircuts. I text her back that I only wanted the very bottom trimmed straight across and not an actual full haircut. She decided to cancel my highlight appointment and tell me she didn't think we were a good fit and how I should contact Monica, who is over in Belmont, now just for doing such. She even gave a one sentence with an exclamation point at the end of the sentence when she decided to just cancel on me just because I asked about the haircut twice. I will never go back to this salon and found her to be highly stuck up and arrogant, for she even said she didn't think she was in my budget. All ridiculous and she did ALL by texting and never even bothered to call me at some point to talk which is a much better way of communicating to avoid misunderstandings. I don't see what the highlights had to do with the haircut but apparently she is so full of herself she just cancels your appointment with her at will and doesn't care how such might affect you or your life plans. I made an appointment the week before I was scheduled, and I was unaware that confirmation the day before would be required in order for me to get in for my women's hair cut. I would have been a first time client, so maybe they like to schedule their familiar clients ahead of new ones. The stylist called and also texted me the day before, however I had one of those days where you just get super busy and have and endless list of items to do. I had blocked my schedule off for my appointment the next day. She texted me at 6:49 that she had to cancel my appointment because I didn't confirm it, I was reminded by this and had replied to her minuted later at 6:53 and she had already canceled my appointment and asked me to call the salon (which was already closed) to see if they had an opening for me. I asked for a natural ombré/ bayalage and got exactly what I asked from her. The color she left was absolutely amazing and looked so natural. My highlights were blended fantastically and my hair still looks awesome! This salon is super neat and tidy and very up to date.
