I found this salon through Yelp, and I contacted CC Hair for a last minute hair cut appointment. They didn't answer at first (probably busy with clients), but immediately I got a text message & they were fast responding to schedule me! Booked the same day and I asked for a haircut. I had a previous hair stylist and bleach done elsewhere, so my hair is very damaged and dry-- I got a trim, layered cut, and blow dry by Ellie! Overall, it was such a great experience! Ellie M. is the best! for haircuts and learning so much about it your hair's needs and what can be good for you! She was super sweet, understanding, nice, and thorough with the appointment and the questions I asked. My hair feels and looks so much healthier and bouncier because of her -- Thank you Ellie! See you in a few months! read more

Christina is nice. However, I'm not sure if she really listened when I described what I wanted. I have given her a few chances at $125 + tip per cut, but haven't walked away from any of the haircuts super happy. The last time, I showed her multiple pictures of what I wanted with my bangs, and it came close after I asked her to thin them out more after her initial cut. However, she also recommended thinning out the rest my hair to remove some of the weight to give it more movement and assured me that she won't remove too much. I wanted to retain that smooth U-shape in the back. It looked terrible after the first wash. She thinned my hair in a way that caused all the ends to flip up in random directions, NOT the look I was going for. None of the layers blended into each other. I wound up tying my hair up for the entirety of my three-week trip abroad because it looked so bad. Seven weeks later, and I'm still growing it out. My hair actually looks pretty damaged, even though it's not. Super disappointed. read more

I went to Christina for many years, and she is truly a fantastic hair stylist. Her work is consistently amazing--she always knew exactly what I wanted and delivered every time. I always left her chair feeling more beautiful. Unfortunately, we moved and I'm no longer able to see her, but I can't recommend her enough. If you have the chance to book with Christina, do it--you're in great hands. read more

Irina has been my stylist for many years now. I work in TV and video so I need to have my hair looking good at all times and Irina has made that painless and possible. I love my blonde color and have had that for many years but was ready to transition into the "quiet silver" trend that is hot right now and I wanted to be able to let my gray roots grow out naturally. so I did it and what could have been a very stressful change was terrific fun and wonderful! I love my hair and never thought I would ever change from blonde. I love having fun with my hair and trying new things and Irina knows what she is doing and I am never worried about how it will turn out. Irina is professional and makes the whole appt which can be long sometimes very fun and stress free!! read more

I requested an appointment through Yelp during the holidays and Christina responded promptly with multiple offerings. The salon is located right in the heart of San Carlos and is warm and spacious but still small and intimate. She was great listening to my hair needs and executed my hair cut within 30 minutes! Ellie was super helpful as well and I enjoyed many laughs with her. Really glad to find a local salon and look forward to coming back. Easy booking, efficient process and great experience! read more

This was the best haircut I've ever gotten!! Seriously. My hair has been thinning and it's so hard to style without looking drab. Eli got right to it and made me feel beautiful again!! read more

Irina is terrific. I switched to her from a different salon a few years ago and have loved every haircut since. She is wonderful with color and highlights too. She will recommend what she thinks is best for you or do whatever you'd like. She is fun, kind and has wonderful energy. I look to her for all types of beauty advice and her advice is always the best around. She does men's hair too for my husband and son and they always look great too. read more

Christina is the ONLY hairstylist I will go to going forward. I've given several local stylists a chance because but Christina is worth the commute. She's corrected several cuts that I've regrettably had. Instead of Christina being the corrector for their mistakes on my hair, she's now the only person I'll trust. I've learned to stick to who I know will never disappoint. Christina is efficient, talented, and so personable! She's a beautiful person inside and out who I'm happy to support for my hair needs. read more

Ariel is MAGICAL. I am so happy I found this place. Called like 10 salons, no one has an opening for a blowout late notice on Friday afternoon. Found this on Yelp, booked via Yelp, and an hour later I was in the chair. Brilliant. Ariel was WONDERFUL. She was funny, kind, extremely personable, and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and feeling pretty. She also taught me how to curl hair properly on an iron and was very open to feedback and giving me tips. She's amazing. She glowed me up real good for my five year anniversary!! $35 for blowout, including curls! Look at my photo for reference! I'M SO HAPPY!! read more

Irina is the best hair stylist! Very professional and knowledgeable, she has such a positive energy and easy touch! Hair cut was pretty bad, and not worth $70+ tip. Sad because all the reviews were 5 stars and I live so close, so I was really searching for my holy-grail hair salon. Felt like anyone could have cut my hair the way it was done. I guess even at that price point, they just cut and blow dry- don't straighten or curl. Also didn't feel the hairdresser was very friendly toward me. No welcome greeting when I entered, she didn't introduce herself, shake my hand or even smile. I wasn't even sure if she was the one I had an appt with but she was the only one there. I came in pretty excited but left just wanting to leave as soon as entered. So the search will continue for a great salon nearby! read more

I decided to give CC a chance to make my pearly blonde dreams come true. I've always somehow ended up yellow so I was hopeful after seeing the pictures on Yelp. I decided to book with Christina and I couldn't be happier. I had to hold back tears of joy! She took my limp, yellow and overprocessed locks and gave me the BEST hair I've ever had. There's so much depth and dimension in a blended and melty way. She is so friendly and personable and was using techniques I've never seen before. The results are spectacular. I've definitely found my new salon and can't recommend Christina enough! read more

After a ridiculous number of so-so experiences at uncomfortable prices, I'm so glad I found Christina. It's a brand new location in San Carlos. And if anything speaks to her skill, it's the number of clients who came in to congratulate her during my appointment. Getting a same day appointment was as easy as texting her. And even though she was already booked for the day, she still managed to find time to work me in. Her mannerisms are just as friendly in person. I've always had trouble with other stylists. My hair always came out too flat or unchanged. Christina understood what changes I wanted and made great recommendations--she also double checked the exact length i wanted cut off. Also, I can't not mention her assistant's incredible shampooing. If you ever need to de-stress, this is the perfect cure. For as long as I'm in the Bay area, I can solemnly swear that Christina will be my permanent hair stylist. read more

Hurrah for the new salon! Christina has been cutting my hair for a few years now and she always leaves me feeling happy. She has a great eye for style and for what suits each person. And now she has her own salon that reflects both her eye for aesthetics and her entrepreneurship. The location is super convenient: El Camino Real just south of the turnoff for downtown San Carlos. There's parking on the street and also on some adjoining lots just past the salon. And you can't miss the signature CC logo on a big bright sign above the building. The inside is stylish, but of course. It has that simple elegant feel of a modern boutique. Be sure to look up when you walk in the red door--the chandeliers will make you smile. I was there on opening week and even though some of the finishing touches were being applied, I felt really comfortable. And of course the most important part: I got a great haircut. I went to a work party that night and got a bunch of compliments on the cut. As always, thank you Christina! read more

I went to Ariel for balayage highlights + a cut yesterday and WOW it's one of my favorite haircuts I've ever had. Ariel is absolutely amazingg. I've never gotten balayage highlights before so I came in with only a vague idea of what I wanted, but she was so friendly and patient in helping me figure out what would look good. After that, she was super meticulous when it came to the cut and color, taking a lot of care to make sure everything was just right. I really felt like my hair was in good hands with Ariel. Needless to say, I love love lovee the end result (both the cut and the color)! It's amazing way beyond what I could have even imagined and I'll definitely be going back to Ariel in the future! The salon itself was really clean and I noticed that all the stylists are really careful to wipe down and disinfect everything in between clients. Not only did everyone (stylists and clients) wear masks the entire time, but they also spaced all the stations out by a good amount, had an air filter running and kept a window open for better air flow. I felt safe being there. read more

I had always had a hard time finding a hairstylist in America that would understand what I want--until finding Christina. At first, I'm pretty closed off so I think I bring that out in others, but I gradually figured out how friendly and accommodating she is. The reviewers are telling the truth when they say that Christina checks in with you every step of the way! Sometimes I didn't have a strong opinion so she would say things like "Let's keep it this way for now, and once we've blow-dried I'll ask you again." That was extremely helpful! Especially as someone who has a hard time speaking up during haircuts when I see something questionable happening, it was really helpful that Christina proactively checked in often. She even suggested a variation to the haircut style I was seeking out, and turns out, I love it! She understands what looks good on people depending on their face shape and head shape! And as a bonus, my haircut is growing out REALLY nicely. I was worried that if I go short, I'll have to get it cut every 4 weeks and I would go broke. But nope, 6 weeks in and it's still looking pretty darn good! In the past, I'd gone to cheaper places and while they were kind, loving, and good at simpler styles, I've also been told by a nice young Vietnamese lady that I "shouldn't go too short [with my hair]" since I'm tall (I'm 5'6") and it'll make me look top heavy/boyish. I don't care about looking boyish, in fact I embrace a little bit of fluidity in my expression. And I certainly don't look top heavy with the short haircut that Christina gave me! So I've closed the chapter of my life where I seek out cheaper haircuts from well-meaning salons with very normative ideas of beauty and gender expectations. I plan to continue coming back to Christina for as long as I'm in the Bay Area! read more

I tried this salon and had Ariel as my stylist. She was great! I came in for a trim and she nailed it! She asked great questions on how I did my hair on a daily basis and what I was looking for. *my haircut with Ariel * I realllllyyyytt needed a haircut and found this gem! I had over processed hair that I just wanted to be chopped off. I was ready to have triangle shaped hair again while growing it out (because that's what normally happens when people cut my hair ) but Ariel saved my life! The moment I walked in she made feel comfortable. She listened to all my concerns and my sob story... and before I knew it, my haircut was done! She made me feel so beautiful I honestly never thought my hair could look and feel this nice! I wanted a blunt bob and she completely delivered. She even cut really cute face framing bangs!! She took the time to teach me how to style my new look curly or straight! I can't emphasize enough how much I love my hair and Ariel!! read more
