    Ants.

Used to be good quality food. They are definitely cutting some major corners now. This plate was $18. They are using the precooked bacon and look how much she got. Unbelievable. Also included a picture of the ants that were crawling all over the wall. This will be our last time dining here. It's convenient because it right down the rd from us but there are so many other restaurants in town that are leaps and bounds better.

The service was nice. I did send my food back because the steak was over cooked. I'd asked for medium and the waitress took it back and another one came back and said it was cooked fine and if I wanted rare instead so I said sure. They came back with this which was well done and dry. Hashbrowns were good. Eggs were like dry ribbons when i had asked for soft scramble. Don't get the eggs or steak here I guess. Won't be back unfortunately. It was pretty busy and cramped inside. Lots of windows and outdoor seating as well.

My go to breakfast place for your regular "country breakfast" type fare. Don't expect any frills or fancy dishes. The staff is friendly and the place is a little more spacious than the chalet in eureka. Their pancakes are the best! I usually get an omelette where you get the choice of hash browns and toast or pancakes. It's the perfect amount of food for me. I like the chalet omelete which comes with avocado, bacon and sour cream. Did I mention how good the pancakes are?! The food has always been consistent so far, except for the Spanish omelette (topped with cold pace salsa and cheddar cheese) nothing Spanish about it. The thing about these country breakfast type places are that their coffee is weak. Not this place! Good, medium coffee just like I like. Plenty of creamer flavor options as well. Quick attentive service, good food, clean restaurant.

Photo is what is SHOULD LOOK LIKE. Ug why do people believe this is GOOD food? Mediocre at best. 14 bucks for a Reuben sandwich that WAS NOT a Reuben. Grossly over mayonnaised, hardly any sauerkraut and definitely NOT grilled as I'd previously asked the waitress. And no Russian dressing on it, asked for 1000 Island. Needed another slice of Swiss cheese since the first one essentially melted off the meat. Two different waitstaff got the side order wrong. The place was jam packed, so damn noisy. With these prices you'd think the old man could hire another server

A-OK as the star rating goes. Not spectacular but not too bad either. I recently came in for lunch. They offer breakfast and lunch, but I don't think they do dinner. The environment is casual, and very typical for an American diner-style restaurant: Cheap and a bit tacky, but clean. The tables are already stocked in advance with an abundance of creamers and condiments. Servers are pretty attentive and you'll have a hard time seeing the bottom of a cup of coffee. I got a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with fries. It was well-made and grilled to a crispy golden brown. The fries were generic frozen crinkle-cuts. The coffee is watery, but this is the kind of joint that keeps it coming, so you will definitely get your fill. The prices are fair for what you get, the service is adequate, and the place is clean. It's ok for what it is. There's nothing spectacular, but they have a lot of solid breakfast and lunch offerings if you want some no-frills American diner food.

The Chalet omelet is great! Very generous with bacon, avocado, and cheese--ir's a favorite for a Saturday morning.

Even though they didn't have cioppino, it was the perfect choice. Sitting out on the patio with the breeze and the sun and the bay with pelicans and gulls flying and flowers all around was great in itself. The food and warm service people made it incredible. We had the best clam chowder I have ever had - thick, creamy, sweet with clams, and amazingly not heavy at all, just perfect. The hot crab sandwich was a special, so that made up our minds on one thing; and it was excellent. The onion rings were highly recommended by the waitress and the guy at the next table who had just gotten a serving. The breading was perfect and nicely seasoned, and the inch-tall rings of sweet white onion - wow. Giant, delicious onion rings. My son was attracted to the blackened sole but I persuaded him that we needed the clam cutlets because - cutlets of razor clam, seriously? And they were cutlets, a thing we had never seen, nicely breaded and delicious. We like clams. The fries were okay, just fries. The tartar sauce was light and an excellent tangy counterpoint, and the cocktail sauce was truly amazing. We were impressed. Both plates came with a small slice of tasty watermelon, too. We left very full and well-satisfied but not feeling weighted down. If you are ever in the area before 3pm on the days they are open - do not miss Gill's on the bluff By the Bay.
