The first time we ate here the food was really good, especially for diner food. The menu is quite extensive and the place is always busy. However the second time we returned all of us were disappointed. The food was absolutely terrible. Don't order the pork chop unless you enjoy gnawing on leather boots. I ordered eggs over medium and they came out looking like clear gelatinous window panes with the sun shining through. Seriously did they even cook the egg at all? The toast was burnt. I think they must have hired new cook staff because it tasted like an overeager preschooler tried to cook breakfast on their easy bake toy kitchen set. Worst experience yet at the Chalet. Went for lunch today and put our name on the waiting list. Waited for over 30 minutes and finally at about 12:30 they started seating three couples that arrived after us. When we asked about our name on the waiting list they said our name had been crossed off with no explanation. We left to dine elsewhere and so did others who were also on the waiting list after us who were never called. Guess The Chalet can not afford competent help to manage a list of four or five names. I got the chicken strip sandwich, which was very good. Wish I was able to add a sauce to it, but couldnt since i took it to go. My gf ordered the links+egg breakfast with hashbrown and everything was so good. They have the big sausage links here, and were nicely cooked. I appreciate that this breakfast spot has good ventilation. We had omelettes and they were fresh and tasty. Hashbrowns were perfectly crisp. Buckwheat pancakes were great. I love that option and actually have learned to bring my own real butter and real syrup. I stay away from anything with HFCS and this place does have gmo condiments. Kids approved and I loved that they had gluten free bread as an option. Lots of choices for everyone and very good prices especially for kids meals. We love the new place. The parking is good and it is close to home. The service is good most of the time. Occasionally, we get a new gal and it is more challenging. They are all very nice though. The food is great and the portions generous. The women's bathroom is nice too. I think they could lower the prices a bit on some items like pancakes (Fruitcakes). $10 seems a bit steep just because there are a few fresh strawberries on them. Other than that, it's a nice place to eat. read more

Best place in town! Best omelettes hands down, bottomless coffee and the only place that does crispy hash browns right! Tons of other options breakfast and lunch as well. Sandwiches are grilled to perfection with tons of different meat and cheese options. Great for lunch breaks, the food is consistent and comes out quick. We also have the extras like different hot sauces, sweet creamers and flavored syrups for the pancakes, waffles, french toast or crepes!!! Every waitperson takes care of any needs. If someone has the coffee pot in hand, they check everyone. If they're going by your table and you have an empty plate, they take it. The server was unconditionally kind to us and checked in often to make sure that we had everything that we needed. I'm looking forward to visiting this location more often. Nicely done! Food was very good and service was amazing (if you crave attention from restaurant staff this is the place). The decor is beautiful; there is a very unique chandelier over the register and even the restrooms are beautiful and finished with lovely tile, like the kind in a high end home, sculptures and light fixtures that are definitely not typical diner style. The dining room is roomy and bright with walls of windows on two sides, which just added to the happiness of a sunny day after so many months of rain. We have lived in the area for almost two years and like to go to local places and have been on the hunt for a hometown place that could become our special place for family meals and celebrations and this may just be that place. read more

We went early, arriving at 7:15am or so. Or waitress came right over to take our order and bring coffee. She gave my son crayons and even a small bowl of raisins to keep him occupied. It was very thoughtful and MUCH appreciated so I could enjoy a cup of coffee peacefully. I ordered the make your own breakfast skillet and the waffle for my son. The breakfast skillet was excellent, it came out quickly and was hot. The potatoes had a nice crunch, and wow the portion was enormous! I brought half of it home! My son enjoyed his kids meal. Best spot in town to get some good greasy hangover food. Service is always good, and the food is better. Hashbrowns are that perfect crunchy on the outside soft and delicious inside. I suggest the meat lovers omelet it or,build your own similar one. Portions are big, you won't leave hungry. Horrible service from Sam. We waited 30 minutes for a table in which time we looked over the menu so we didn't have to take much of their time when we sat down. My husband is a server, we always are considerate of the servers and other staff whenever we go out to eat. That being said, when we were seated my husband told the woman that we were ready to order but not to rush being that they were busy. It was father's day so that was to be expected. I noticed there were only two servers, the other staff were bussing and moving tables and chairs around. 20 minutes goes by and now my two young kids are getting antsy. I don't know who was supposed to be our server out of the two that were serving that day so I kindly told the one who was in our area that we were ready to order. For context, this server was not helping anyone else when I told her that. She was moving chairs back and forth, over and over again, with the busser. When I told her we were ready she froze and stared at me like I was scum. A few seconds after her death stare towards me, she responded with "THOSE people are before you". It was so incredibly rude. I looked over and the table she was referring to were still looking at their menus. I guess if they go by order in which people are seated that explains the poor turnover rate and long wait time. Being that it was father's day, I don't hold the wait time against them. I was going to let the rudeness of the server go, but being that my husband is in the industry he wasn't having it. We got up and left. He was not going to give someone our business who treated me so terribly. I heard the other location is better with service. Please train your people better. Compassion and kindness go a long way. We went to Dennys after this experience. Our kids were cranky and hungry so we didn't have much of a choice and we didn't want fast food. We were promptly seated (they were busy too being father's day!) and the hostess brought my kids an English muffin right away to hold them over. This place is totally unorganized, the service was aweful, one waitresss was so rude to the hostess it made me uncomfortable although I can see why. We asked the hostess for some milk and I don't think she understood what I was saying and kept pointing out the creamers on the table, she just walked away and never brought milk. Very odd. The huevos rancheros were fried eggs on top of a thick iceberg lettuce tacos salad. It was a completely unrecognizable version. The iceberg made the whole thing cold and unpalatable. The smear of canned refried beans was simply gross. The huevos rancheros sauce was completely missing. This was our first visit and we were completely disappointed. However, the service was great and the restaurant was clean. This item should be removed from the menu. We wont' be going back. read more
