I'm leaving one star. The only reason I purchased from this over priced mom and pop shop was 1. It was late 2. The owner was pleasant 3. Guilt set in after the owner telling me all about the cupcakes, flavors etc. I couldn't seem to walk away. After learning that I was going pay $17.50 for two cupcakes, who in there right mind would stay for that, apparently me. I was still, against every fiber of my being, going to purchase these cupcakes, now giving her the benefit of the doubt and assuming, at the very least, they'd look great; and my kids would love them. I waited 20 mins for her to "decorate" two cupcakes. I will post the photo in the review, and you can judge for yourself. The taste was nothing spectacular by any means, just like a homemade outta the box cupcake...I read a review, someone stated the frosting tasted like crisco, and another said to much butter...I'd have to say butter flavored crisco would be most accurate. Order the curry and shrimp tempura Waited for a while but the food finally came, the curry was ok but nothing out of the ordinary, the shrimp tempura was cold and had no flavor, had to ask for sauce they forgot to give me some. Decided to to order some cupcakes / pastry for family as opposed to driving to 85° and for $25 (grubhub price w/delivery and tip) I received 3 cupcakes and 2 croissants. The croissants were small and nothing spectacular. Not flaky at all. Taste was ok at best. Cupcakes were horrible. Very tiny and not close to the locale gourmet specialty food trucks in the area which is what I expected for the price. Tasted like box cake mix with overly sweet icing. I'm assuming that they make these in bulk , well in advance and decorate when ordered. Tasted and texture of at least 12 hours old. Made the night before? I ordered the vegan cupcakes for a coworkers birthday. My expectations were managed, I suppose, not being a vegan myself. However, when I called to ask what flavor the vegan cake came in, the woman said "well today it's apple and banana" but offered to "override" the flavor with chocolate. Nice offer and honestly, I was just intrigued. She assured me that it wouldn't be noticeable (the Apple and banana). I asked for chocolate icing also. Honestly, there was no discernible flavor besides sweet. No chocolate and not the apple or banana. My coworkers and I were playing a guessing game for the flavor... we were all stumped. Note: I originally asked for a cake, but wanted writing on it and she said that it would be easier to do it on a cupcake. Why, I don't know, but I agreed. The cupcakes did not have writing on them.... I didn't even finish a whole cupcake... not worth the calories. I don't love cake and sweets, but I am comfortable saying that it was not good quality or flavor. I put my order in to Grubhub at 12:30pm my driver calls me to say he had been waiting there for an hour 1/2 and my order still wasn't ready . I ended up getting my order at 3:30 pm and it was missing an item . When my driver got here he said that the owner didn't even want to give him a bag to put my food in everything was all greasy and cold . I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone . read more

I'm a firm believer of "You get what you pay for" and these Cupcakes didn't disappoint. Not only is the owner (Cynthia) present, she's making sure her Cupcakes are made fresh, she's super friendly and fun to talk to. During my first visit I ordered the Chef Special an Orange Tangerine Cupcake topped with Vanilla Buttercream and a chewy orange candy. Not only was the Cupcake super moist, but every bite burst with the Orange Tangerine flavor! I went ahead and ordered a dozen Cupcakes to go for a friends Birthday today and I know everyone is going to love them. Thank you Cynthia and keep up the great work. I was pretty excited to to this place out but it just fell short. I'm a cupcake connoisseur and I'm not very picky either. Reminded me of a cupcake from a grocery store. I had a red velvet with cream cheese icing. You put the icing yourself and can add toppings. I can't even remember the toppings because that's how uninteresting they were. They do make you wear gloves when you DIY your cupcake. I wanted to try this place for breakfast but it was already 10am and no one was there. This was not by any means my favorite. It has a wide selection of icings but there are only three base cupcakes. As a cupcake lover, I was hesitant on trying something and being disappointed so I went for a classic red velvet and cream cheese frosting. After paying a questionable amount for it, with no milk or water (except the bottle water for purchase), I was in fact disappointed. The cupcake was a little crunchy and not really moist. I want to say the customer service here was great. Postmates screwed up being the middleman. Instead of cancelling my order and waiting "X" amount of days to get my money back.... I called Cupcake Arcade directly and we both realized the young lady at Postmates did a terrible job at being a problem solver between us. Ordered 3 specialty character cupcakes. The price was high but the samples looked really great so why not. The wait was about 30 mins and there was no line. Then the finished product definitely was disappointing. We were apologized to for the wait and told that the specialty order takes longer to create. Not at all like the samples shown. 1/4 of a star for terrible taste. I tried the vegan chocolate cupcake, chocolate cupcake, and vanilla cupcake (don't judge). The vegan chocolate cupcake tastes like flour with a fart of chocolate. The frosting had a sweet crisco taste. Was not enjoyable at all. 1/4 of a star for cost. I could have gone to staters purchased a box of Betty Crocker cupcakes and made a dozen cupcakes for $6.50. Don't get any toppings because you will be left on the street. $1 for one strawberry! And $0.40 charge for using a card! Not worth the money. 1/4 of a star for cleanliness. At first I thought that some horrible person left their ice cream cone on the counter and then realized it was part of the decoration. Ew. While shopping in the West Covina mall I came across The Cupcake Arcade. It is such a great concept! You can actually "build your own" cupcake from the cake flavor to the icing all the way to the variety toppings available. I purchased the vanilla, strawberry and red velvet cupcakes. Ordered off Grubhub around 9pm. Says cool to order till 9:15. Hate to be that person, but i want to try them. Read the reviews. Not great, meh, but I'll give it a go. Ordered 7. Yeah, fat kid status but I'm the type to taste one bite and move on to another. Ordered almond with almond icing, vanilla with rum icing (wtf over $4?!!), lavender vanilla with lavender vanilla icing, chocolate with chocolate cinnamon icing, chocolate with chocolate strawberry icing, oreo with oreo icing, and finally white chocolate with white chocolate icing. Magic in my mouth, right? Wrong. The reviews are accurate. The icing is sickly sweet, like grocery store icing. And to be honest, i couldn't taste the difference in hardly any of them (meaning no lavender essence, no almond flavor, nor white chocolate, and no rum flavor. The strawberry flavor was noticeable but tasted like that fake strawberry flavor. Wtf. They were toppled over in the cardboard box they were put in, but i could blame grub hub for that one. I used Grubhub to have cupcakes delivered to my home fresh baked to order I only ordered three because I'm trying to be good however upon receiving the cupcakes they were out of this world I ordered one red velvet cupcake with vanilla icing one chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and one vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting I must say these were the best cupcakes I've ever had in my life. This place is like a Yogurtland for cupcakes and it is GENIUS! You literally can tailor your cupcake to satisfy your craving and preference. Came across this gem while walking through the mall with my younger sister. Her eyes gravitate to anything that has to do with the minion characters so right when she saw the displays and samples she was sold and we gave it a try. The experience was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The cupcakes were absolutely amazing! I got the strawberry cupcake and the base of the cake in itself was so fresh, and moist. Didn't taste artificially flavored. Then getting to choose from the variety of icings and toppings was so fun. Especially making my sisters cupcake. She of course made a minion one and not only did she enjoy the experience but she loved the taste of the cupcake too! Cynthia helped us and she was so kind and patient.
