I happened to be out in Rancho Cucamonga, found the store, and dropped in. They bake some of the BEST bread in Southern California! And it lasts far longer when you pick it up FRESH!. I grabbed a loaf of their Gilroy Garlic Sourdough and their classic sourdough and am absolutely THRILLED with both of them! Since I was there, I figured I'd order a BYO sandwich. I used their order form to get a turkey/ham/roast beef with provolone and pepper jack, and a bunch of toppings that included lettuce, tomato, onion, bell peppers, pickles, pepperoncini, and slathered by mustard and mayo. It was a an incredible sandwich and everything was piled HIGH! Of course, since it was custom built for me, I had to wait a bit. Which led to additional purchases of white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and a half-dozen snickerdoodles. All of them were baked in house. None of them managed to survive the trip back home. They were THAT good. The crew was friendly and - after I told them this was my first time at the store, they helped me make the best choices. The store was nice and clean, everything I tasted was great. I will make the looooooong journey up here again!

The sandwich was fresh and flavorful--I ended up eating half and saving the rest for later, along with half of my chips. The customer service really stood out. Everyone there was super nice, welcoming, and made the whole experience feel comfortable. They also have a great selection of bakery items--cookies, breads, muffins, and more. The space itself is simple but really nice, with a clean and relaxed atmosphere. It's definitely the kind of place you can sit and enjoy your food. A couple small suggestions: The squaw bread was good, but it breaks pretty easily. I'd recommend getting wetter ingredients (like tomatoes) on the side so the sandwich holds together better. The napkins could be a little stronger--I had to use quite a few of them. Other than that, everything was great. I would definitely go back!

This was not our first time ordering from Mr. Baker we usually stop in and pick cakes straight from the display case but this was our first custom cake experience, and it was so easy from start to finish. When we went into the bakery, we were given a card with the email address and told to email the baker directly. I emailed that Saturday while still in the store, and by Sunday morning I already had a response from Victoria. She was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process! I sent her inspiration pictures, and she quickly provided three different quote options. All of the inspiration cakes I sent included fresh flowers, and Victoria explained that we would need to bring our own flowers to the bakery the Friday before pickup so they could safely place them on the cake the next morning. Everything went smoothly, and when we arrived to pick up the cake, it looked absolutely stunning! The flowers we brought in were beautifully arranged, and the entire cake looked elegant and professionally done. We ordered vanilla cake with buttercream and their Strawberry Chiffon flavor, and both were AMAZING. Everyone at the bridal shower kept talking about how delicious the cake was! So many guests had never heard of Mr. Baker before and wanted to know where the cake came from that we actually brought extra business cards and handed them out during the shower. Thank you so much to Victoria and the entire team at Mr. Baker for creating such a beautiful cake and making the process so easy. Everyone there is always so kind and welcoming, and we will definitely continue ordering from them in the future!

I ordered a strawberry matcha latte, an almond croissant, and a strawberry croissant (for my sister). Two employees were working, and the service was very kind. However, I found the quality of the drink and food to be mediocre. The strawberry matcha was decent and visually appealing, but aside from its cute appearance, nothing stood out in terms of taste. My almond croissant was hard to bite into. This was disappointing as it was flavorful. I'm not sure if it was because I went in the afternoon, but I had to bite and chew harder than expected. I've never had that experience with a croissant before. My sister had no issues with hers, so I'm perplexed as to what went wrong with my croissant.

When the employee (a younger woman with glasses working around 2:00 p.m.) finally brought out the new trays, my wife requested one. The employee refused, telling her she had to take the older bread first because they needed to sell those ones off. She had an attitude for no reason. This was confusing and rude, especially since they usually yell "fresh bread" to encourage customers to grab the newest items. To make matters worse, a man walked in just two minutes later and requested three of the exact same fresh breads, and the same employee gave them to him without hesitation. The inconsistency and blatant lack of customer service were incredibly upsetting. It is disappointing to be told you have to take "old" product while others are given the fresh items you specifically waited for. Sad...what a waste of time coming here. We ended up not buying the bread. lol and the manager just responded in a typical way but offered no free bread for us to return...that would be the proper way to operate.

My wife clearly stated she needed a gluten free cake. Hours later, the business owner sent a follow-up text, even though the dietary requirement had already been discussed. After we sent the deposit, which was described as non-refundable, an additional $15 charge was suddenly added. I explained there was a misunderstanding and that we would rather not move forward. Instead of handling it professionally, the owner became defensive and dismissive. During the call, we were spoken to in a condescending and hostile tone. I responded in a condescending tone to match theirs, and the owner abruptly hung up. After the call, the owner later sent a text instructing us not to contact the business again, even though we had not called or texted back. The deposit was refunded, but the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional. This was never about the additional $15. It was about honesty, transparency, and professionalism. Instead of acknowledging the misunderstanding, the owner doubled down, deflected blame, and personally attacked a customer. Even more concerning is that the owner's response tries to attack my character publicly instead of addressing the facts. They brought up a dealership review from eight years ago, which was simply about negotiating a vehicle purchase, to claim we "bully" businesses. This is irrelevant and clearly an attempt to discredit us rather than take responsibility. Based on this experience, it is clear that accountability does not exist at this business, and that they are more focused on trying to silence or detract from what occurred than taking responsibility. Readers can decide for themselves. Update: Additionally, after I responded to the original reply, the business owner edited their response and changed the story, context, and accusations in an apparent effort to further discredit me. I have attached screenshots showing the original version of the post for transparency. Update 2: The business owner previously responded by publicly sharing my private information. I reported the comment to Yelp, and Yelp removed it after determining it fell outside their Content Guidelines. In my opinion, publicly sharing a customer's private information is unacceptable.

I was so happy to be able to buy bread locally at a panadería vs the grocery store nearby. It makes a huge difference when you get to enjoy warm, freshly baked bread. I love the variety of breads that are offered - my favorites are still the mini conchas, the puerquitos, and the polvorones. I'm especially grateful that they added a food menu - it's saved me from starvation, and people around me from my hanger. I also really appreciate that they've allowed me to try tamales I have never had the chance to try before (I love the oaxaqueños made with mole). Not only is this a great place to get delicious pan and food, but it's also helping to serve as a community space where everyone is safe and welcomed. It's a place where you won't just see Latinos rushing in to buy and have a quick chat, but it welcomed anyone who has an interest in eating Mexican pan and food. There have been countless times when I see people coming in wanting to try something even if they don't yet know what they'll like. Everyone from owners, to owners' family, and staff are incredibly nice and informative. They patiently answer questions and often have some yummy treats to sample. It feels like you're going home to visit the Tia that spoils you with food. I really loved when the family was tending the shop, because I enjoyed hearing the stories of how recipes were obtained and how a certain kind of technique worked best. I find it fascinating because it wasn't just about food, but the history and stories behind it. It's a beautiful way to showcase our culture. I hope that they continue to grow and be even more successful.
