Don't know why this place is getting a bad rep, but I've always had great experience with Sweet Art Cakes and their cake design is always on point. Sweet Art Cakes was one of the few vendors that did not stress us out. The manager was so relaxed and made everything sound easy. The cake was amazing. It was absolutely delicious, with a different flavor for each layer. The manager emphasized that they use more natural flavors and avoid artificial flavors and you can absolutely taste the difference. In addition, they had the best prices! I was so excited to get my 60th Bday cake from Sweet Art Cakes, but was let down at the end result. During my consultation I specifically told him that I wanted the cake to look like an explosion of colorful flowers like lLilys ,Iris', the like. I did not want it to look like a cake. He asked if roses would be ok and a said a couple only and no red roses. He gave me NOTHING but Roses! Not what I wanted. The colors were great but I did not want a flat cake with just a bunch of roses. When it was delivered to the event center, I told the delivery guy it was wr ok ng, and nothing but lip service. We found this place by accident. The original baker we went to was closed and we found this place by Google search. We were greeted by an older woman who was very nice and professional. We told her what we wanted, by wen; she gave us samples to try and we choose the pistachio with raspberry filling cake. We showed her the design we wanted and she helped us improve on the design without making the cake look too busy. I opted to purchase a fondant topper off Etsy because I thought it was super cute and wanted to have the topper to my preference. They are hard to get a hold of but nevertheless return calls. So be patient or go in person. The day of the shower my cute was beautiful. Delicious. Everyone was impressed and I couldn't have been happier. I really hate that I even had to give this a 1star to write the review. So I opted to buy my friends cake for her 1st Baby Shower. I wanted everything to be perfect for the occasion. I found Sweet Art Cakes on Yelp and decided to give the Upland store a call. I spoke with Quincy, who was more than helpful and enthusiastic to help with the occasion. His enthusiasm is actually what sold me on the place. The day of the shower, I was happy to present my cake gift to my friend. Unfortunately, when the 1st cut was made, I saw right away that this was not the cake I ordered. Originally ordered was a Pink Champagne Cake with Strawberry Cream filling... Yummy, right? What I got was Pistachio Cake with Strawberry Cream filling! How do you mix up a cake pink in color for one that's GREEN?!? To make matters worse, my friend and her family are ALL allergic to nuts! I literally just paid $100 for a cake that people couldn't eat!!!! Literally, 3, yes 3 slices were eaten! (I had to make a run to Costco to save the day!) I took photos of the cake and double checked the order form and confirmed what I had ordered. I thought "No big deal, I'll just call the store and it'll get sorted out." WRONG! I called the Upland store and the girl instructed me to email the photos and she would get back to me. I spoke with the girl and emailed the photos on Tues morning. By Thurs I hadn't heard from anyone so I started calling the store. That place MUST have caller ID because I called over a dozen times throughout their business hours and NO one answered. Finally on Friday, I received a call from Quincy, who was as polite as ever. He calmed me down from my initial state. However, then he informed me that he was authorized to either refund me 15% of the purchase or a free cake for a future occasion. WTF?!? 1. If you already messed up one cake for a special occasion, why would I allow you to do it again?! 2. 15% off a cake that NO ONE could eat?!? I didn't mess the order up! I ordered exactly what I wanted and paid for! They messed up! I could understand if it was something minimal that was messed up, like the decorations for example. But the CAKE?!? THE ACTUAL CAKE?!? A cake that the entire family was allergic to?!? Quincy explained that was all he was authorized to give. So, next option: Call the Pomona store... Which I did. I spoke with Luis that same Friday. He said to call back the following Tues. Why it couldn't be resolved Fri, I have no idea. I spoke with Luis the following week and told him that 15% off a cake that NO ONE could eat is unacceptable! He asked what I thought would make me happy. Now, I'm a reasonable person, so I said 50% refunded would suffice. He said he couldn't do that because the cake was "used". I reiterated that the family was allergic to the cake and only 3 slices had been eaten! He, again, stated the cake was used. So I asked, "Well, then, what are you offering me?" He said "I can give you 25% off." WTF?!?! You mean to tell me, I just payed $75 for 3 slices of cake?!?! I told him, if that was all he was offering, I'd take it. I'm definitely NOT happy about it. Overall, with the exception of Quincy, it has been a horrible experience. I just wanted everything to be perfect for my friends 1st child. She didn't even want a decorative cake, I did! She was happy with a Costco cake... Which is what I ended up having to purchase anyway the day of! Save yourself the trouble and choose another bakery, it's not worth the headache or the run around! read more

SO I finally got a chance to write it, it's been bottling up in my mind.. this place was the place we got as part of the wedding package with Ontario Airport hotel then (3/3/2019).. we got everything under a paper stating our wedding date.. we were excited, we were ecstatic about the whole experience, and then it came THE DAY.. THE ONLY THING RUINING MY WEDDING DAY, if you think the cake came ugly, I would rather have a cake, THIS PLACE DOES NOT EVEN SEND US ANYTHING ON MY WEDDING DAH AT ALL!!!!! At all.. and the sadistic part about it, Ontario airport hotel wedding crew give us permission to contact the cake place as they try to contact them but they couldn't get a hold of them and they never get to the bottom of the problem.. so when we went and try to talk to the owner, he had the original agreement paper and the date literally was wrote there, we got the pink copy and HE LIES AND ADDED ANOTHER DATE ON THE ORIGINAL PAPER STATING WHATEVER WE NEED IT FOR... the copy says it all, if it's not on the pink copy that mean he add the date after the 2 other carbon copy was ripped from the original.. he stand by that and won't even give us anything but a birthday cake as a replacement.. honestly if a cake place can ruin your big day like that they shouldn't even stay in that business.. they know it's a special for a couple who trust them to make their cake there, they should respect it that way too.. it is long but I still can't get over it, I can not stand the lie and the owner being irresponsible like that, and the reason why I wrote it today because I don't want another couple to go through my experience... and I'm not one of those that give bad review I always try to support and compliment good business but once they're rude and disrespectful and being hurtful.. it's not acceptable! read more

We met with QUINCY Nov 2012for a cake tasting (hint: they are great with email and call communication, all replies were prompt and always so professional)... CAKE TASTING: we were seated and greeted, before hand we had selected various different cakes and filling to try, about 10 different mix-match slections....our appointment was so friendly and delicious!! our daughter also joined in the fun and we never felt rushed. after our flavor selection we were asked to design our cake (photos of our cake design and the end result are on here, the pink, ivory and blue wedding cake)....my groom-to-be along with Quincy desing the cake (my then fiancee, is a graphic designer and had tons of fun designing our cake)...the cake flavors were delicious, so many different combinations and flavors....we were in cake heaven!....we walked away feeling great! We picked SAC to be our cake vendor 6 months before our wedding....and customized our design, flavors and also worked with our florist so that they could add the floral design the day of the wedding. We loved our experience with them...they were honest, professional, delicous and on-top of our order from start to finish! We could not have asked for a better vendor or cake chef (we nicknamed him THE CREATOR..lol!)! In terms of price, i want to say they are reasonably priced, our cake came with our venue contract package ....and we did do a bit of an upgrade in size (our cake fed 200 people) -- there were no EXTRA fees for the pearlization effect, butter cream or colors on the cake. My wife and I got married in October (2019) at the Mission Inn Hotel and were SO lucky to have found Luis and SweetArt Cakes. Luis and his team seriously know their stuff. After trying multiple cake tastings at different bakeries, it was clear immediately that SweetArt Cakes was our top choice. Luis was quick with communication over email/text/phone. After I set up our tasting, we decided what we wanted and it was simple as that. Luis' cakes (for the cake/number of slices we wanted) was an average price for bakers in the area. However, his cake did not taste average-it was spectacular. During my tasting, I tried multiple cakes and fillings and seriously had a hard time choosing. The cake in the tasting and at the wedding was extremely fresh, moist, and delicious. He hand makes his fillings and buttercream and you can tell. It doesn't taste like any cake you can get at the store-it tasted special. The two extra special surprises for me, were that after our tasting he informed me that he could do 3 different types of cakes/fillings for my 3 tiers at no extra charge!!! It was amazing and so fun to have 3 different flavors and our guests loved it as well. People complimented us about our cake for weeks! The other special thing is that they will give you a mini cake on your 1 year anniversary. My wife and I are so looking forward to that special treat. I gave Luis an exact picture of what I wanted for the design (something fairly simple) and he made the vision come right to life! Handling payments with him was also very simple. If I had questions, I called and he answered them right away. The cake was delivered perfectly on the day of-no issues. Luis knows the Mission Inn well, so I didn't have to worry about a thing when it arrived. Overall, out of trying 5 bakers, Luis and Sweet Art Cakes were an obvious top choice and we are so happy we chose to work with him for our wedding!
