They have lots of different flavors, including some seasonal and monthly. I tried their Valentine's Day flavor, called Ruby. The cake is a swirl of red velvet and strawberry sponge with raspberry cream cheese icing. Wow was this amazing! It was the perfect mix of chocolate and fruit and tart and sweet. I would totally get this again!! My only negative is that the cup they put single cupcakes in makes it hard to get out. Mmmm! Soooo good! After visiting their sister bakery, the Cakery, I decided I wanted to give this place a try. I walked in and was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help. I told them I was there to pick up a catering order of cupcakes, one cake, their double-decker cookies and two gluten free cupcakes. The person behind the counter went and retrieved my items and verified all amounts and specifics of the order were correct. After verifying everything, I was on my way. I served them at work the next day and they were a hit. Like most sweets, they didn't last past lunch (which is a good thing) and I got enough for people to try a variety. Overall, I was incredibly pleased with the service and quality of the items. My only piece of constructive criticism is offering more of a variety when it comes to their smaller sized cupcakes. While what they offer is good, it's essentially only 4 flavors, which doesn't encompass everything they have to offer. Additionally, I didn't realize the two gluten free cupcakes I got weren't the same size as the others but were instead, the largest! After now trying both places, I'd say they're unique in their own way. IMO, The Cakery focuses on more cakes and other goodies while the cup is focused on more cupcakes. My personal favorites are the strawberries and cream and red velvet but they have so many great flavors including rotating seasonal ones that you really can't go wrong. I used one of their cakes for a party and everyone loved it. They also have some gluten free choices that I have bought many times for my allergy friends and they have really enjoyed them. I went here back in October and it was a welcoming spot. I actually didn't even know it was in the area because it's tucked away in a little alley. The cupcake was very good. The frosting is really what made it for me I think. It was very good and the right amount to where even though it was rich, I didn't feel sick afterward. I am still a fan of The Cup and always will be! I went in earlier this week for a birthday cupcake and was pleasantly surprised to see how many cupcake options they had! I knew I wanted to order the Confetti cupcake since that's my favorite! But I was also picking up additional cupcakes to share with friends. The girl behind the counter was helpful and understood when I asked for 2 of the cupcakes to be separate from the box. I was also picking up a GF cupcake for a birthday buddy that I needed to drop off later that day! While asking for cupcakes, the girl helping me was following along quickly and put the box together pretty easily. She also helped me get 2 "happy birthday" fondant pieces for the birthday cupcakes and I also picked up a pint of their vanilla buttercream. The service was super friendly and fast. Very efficient. After I paid, she offered to put everything in a bag for me which was super helpful. Thanks! The cupcakes were all delicious when we did enjoy them. My friends and I split each of the cupcakes into 4 pieces and shared them so that we could have a little cupcake sampler-it's my favorite thing to do! All I can really comment on for The Cup is the deliciousness of the cupcake I had! I was out in CWE for Rose Day and my mom popped into The Cup while I waited outside with the dog. It looked like a cute set up inside but I didn't go in. I had a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting and Reese's crumbles on top . Holy Yum, these are wonderful cupcakes!!! Way back in 2019, I had a dozen cupcakes delivered to the WashU dorms for my daughter's bday. Since then, I have intended to stop in so I could taste them, too. Today was *finally* the day!! There are options to order for pick up, but we just stopped in. A sign on the door informs that no more than 3 guests can be inside at one time. The store was empty when we arrived, so it was no problem. I don't know how crowded it get for drop in orders. Anyhow, we chose several flavors: Red Velvet (2) Tuxedo Monster (our fave today) Mummy Cuppa Coffee Cake Strawberries & Cream (2) Pumpkin Harvest A few hours later, after an afternoon of sight-seeing, we were ready for our cupcakes (well, at least some of them). We divvied up little bites so we could each sample more flavors. The mint-chip flavored monster cupcake was each of our favorite today. When I cut into it, I immediately smelled an enticing burst of mint. The red velvet- also divine. These cupcakes are moist, substantial, beautifully artful, and most importantly - delicious. The cake is very moist and tender, but with some good substance, so it's not like you're eating airy nothingness. I don't normally journey into The Central West End because of the lack of parking and too many people and too many cars, but I braved it today. While the icing is very sweet, I think it's supposed to be. It's icing! But the cake is so soft and moist. It's even good after a day or so and the gooey butter cake is delectable. This place is a hidden gem, literally. Tucked on a side street near some construction at the moment, I wish more people knew how great this place was.
