Great place to go if you want to bring your laptop and make people think you're writing some big novel. Vape friendly. Good atmosphere and a great place to find people and talk about their man buns and ponytails. Went to this place with a few of my friends after one of us had gotten a cup from lets spoon. As we walked in and placed our order the man working told my friend with the cup that she could not be here. Totally understandable, my friend went outside and sat quietly waiting for the rest of us. Once I got my coffee I went outside to join her, my other friend also came out waiting for her food. I recognized the owner and a worker sitting a few feet away. Nothing out of the ordinary. My friend went back inside to grab her food, and when she came out we decided to go sit in the corner of the patio so she could eat. My friend threw out her cup from lets spoon in the trash and we walked over to our table. Immediately after sitting down in the corner the owner came over to us and very aggressively told us that we needed to get out. Shocked, and stunned by his aggressive tone, and not really understanding what he said at first we asked "what?" he then again turned to us even louder and more aggressive, with gestures told us to get out. ...We left and are still stunned and upset with the service given to us. This is a great place to hang and enjoy breakfast. The coffee is decent and the bagel breakfast sandwiches are great. The bagels are fresh and the eggs and bacon are made to order. Grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and bring your laptop and get some work done. read more

Stopped by for some coffee. Had the Nitro, a cold brew, that will keep me going all day for sure. Another had the cappuccino. A good flavor of coffee. A nice day to sit outside and sip. Very friendly employee asked what kind of coffee we were in the mood for and did not steer us wrong! read more

Not even a half step into the door the female barista with pink hair yelled across the whole coffee shop for me to put my mask over my nose, everyone looked at me like I was a terrible human because of that. Not professional at all to yell across the coffee shop like that, if it was a problem she should have walked up to me and told me in a nice manner to do it, and at least give me a chance to walk in first so I can do it. Also, some guy wanted a new bagel because it was not cooked to his liking so he politely asked for a new one and showed her the bagel so they knew how he wanted it cooked. The lady proceeded to make excuse after excuse and was arguing with the man, then the smart ass, clear glasses barista chimed in, swearing in front of the whole coffee shop, and did not stop talking about it within the 15 minutes I was in there. Again, very unprofessional, it doesn't matter if you're a college student. You should know how to act by now. That completely ruined it for my girlfriend and I. On top of that, it is extremely pricy, paid $30 for two breakfast sandwiches and two iced coffees. With that being said, I would recommend Woodworth dining hall for coffee and North dining hall for a breakfast sandwich. They are half the price, twice as good, and you won't get the degrading, rude service like you do at The Cup. I will not be going back nor would I recommend it to anyone. read more

Nice environment inside, and good coffee. But the food is the problem. They're not consistent with their ingredients in some bagel sandwiches, specially the Veg Head I've had multiple problems with. For instance the menu says the sandwich has carrots on it, but there are no carrots on it. Also the menu says it has red onion on it, but I've gotten white or yellow onion on it instead which tastes completely different. I wouldn't buy anything from this establishment. I saw a employee kick a father and son from a table because they were eating an ice cream sandwich on a hot day! I would understand if all the tables were full but there were only two people there. Unfortunate sight. read more

Go somewhere else if you're with kids or a dog - the owner admits he can "barely tolerate" either. Looks great since they cleaned up all the cigarette butts and added the flowers. Glad to know the increase in prices is going towards something. read more

Stopped by The cup last week for some coffee to go with the lunch my friends and I had just picked up. Before I even got a chance to ask my girlfriend what she wanted, we were approached outside by who I presume was the manager. First words he said were "I am not Ok with this" and he then demanded us to buy something or leave. We then took what would have been a 5 drink order elsewhere. read more

Great, friendly service! Had a turkey pesto panini and it was very good. The outdoor patio looks great, but on this cooler day, we sat inside. There were a few flies which tells me it could be cleaner, otherwise, worth the trip if you are in town. read more

When this business was the MT CUP, i had nothing less than years of wonderful drinks and fun memories with my friends. I had a professor that held class there once a week as well. It was good times until... It went on to become The Cup. One day i was to meet a friend for coffee, so i stood on the patio for all of five minutes waiting on her when she had to cancel at the last minute, so i left. There were a ton of empty seats, so no, i took nothing away from current customers in this five minutes. The second time i went in to purchase a coffee and brought my laptop. It took 15 minutes to get waited on and get my drink. This would have been acceptable had I not been the only customer in the place. I waited quietly for my coffee and sat down to use my computer without one complaint. I was then informed they were closing in 15 minutes, So i packed my stuff up straight away left on time. The third time i went to The Cup, i walked in and used the restroom and then sat my stuff down at a table so i could carry my coffee back easier. The second i sat down, i got a text from my son, so i answered it before placing my order, as it was important. Right then i tied my shoelace in the process of getting up to order a coffee... at that exact time the manager walked up to me and said (quite rude) you need to order something now. I said without attitude, i am in just a second, i had to get my stuff situated. He then proceeded to tell me he saw me outside the other day and i did not order anything, so i needed to leave now and never come back. That is fine, a place of business has the right to not serve someone. I would think you could at least act like an adult and before throwing someone out for good, ask why i left the other day without placing an order. I have never been treated this way by any business manager, let alone banned. I would think it should take a lot more than changing plans one time and not ordering fast enough the second time to get banned from a business. Banning myself may seem like no big deal, but they should care and realize several other people will not be returning as well.
