I was introduced to Cammack Station quite a few years ago before they added on the larger dining area. Was hooked from the first moment. Walking in is like walking into a museum of sorts. Gas station memorabilia alongside coke memorabilia etc. has you stepping back in time. Housed in what looks like an old gas station, this place drips of nostalgia. Ordering at the counter before being seated, we were waited on by a cheerful young woman who didn't make us feel rushed. It had been five years since we had last been, so we needed a refresher course. We ordered the Cammack Cheesy Jalapeño Burger on Texas toast each. Husband had loaded tots with cheese and chili and I opted for a side of onion rings. My mom had the pulled pork on Texas toast and onion rings. Dad had the breaded tenderloin with sweet potato fries. The food was phenomenal. The onion rings were fresh and plentiful. The tots were delicious. The burger? Spicy and extremely tasty! Everything was perfect. The marshmallow cokes just added to it all. Yum! Husband had the peanut butter explosion for dessert. Frozen custard, softened peanut butter, Reese's Pieces and peanut butter cups topped with cream and a cherry. A must try. I chose the one scoop sundae with hot fudge and peanuts. Excellent. While this restaurant may be a little out of the way, it is most definitely worth the trip! Highly recommend! read more

I mean, it's a restaurant that looks like a old-timey gas station! You gotta visit, for sure. Cammack Station is a must-visit when you're in the Muncie area. I was told that pretty much everything is great here, and that's true. I ordered quite a few things, and I loved all of them. The Cammack Cheezy Jalapeno was what jumped out at me first (a burger with cream cheese, pepper jack cheese and jalapeños). It's not spicy at all, but it does have a nice kick. The cream cheese mellows things out, so it's a nice, flavorful burger. I also got the loaded cheese fries, because I couldn't help myself. The fries came topped with barbecue pork, but I could have chosen chili or bacon. But why would I have? Pulled pork is always the right choice. The fries were good and cheesy, and had a lot of pulled pork on them. This is the part of the review where I tell you that you need to order your food and sweet treats at separate counters. Because I didn't know that! I ordered a root beer float and a banana split from one counter, and they were waiting for me at another counter. I didn't know that sweet treats should be ordered and picked up at the ice cream counter, but now you know. You're welcome. This is diner food at its finest. Lots of fried things and malts and burgers and stuff. Definitely come for the food, because it's great. But also come for the decor and atmosphere. Cammack Station was exactly the midwestern Americana diner experience we were in search of on a Saturday in October! We were greeted by beautiful fall decorations as we approached the front entry, and the fall/Halloween decor continued inside. The cool retro vibe of the restaurant is so well done and gives guests a lot to look at and admire from days long ago. We must've been giving off newbie vibes so the friendly employee behind the counter provided us with guidance: grab a menu, seat yourselves wherever you'd like, place your order at the counter, and then wait for your name to be called to pick up your order. We ordered the Campfire Burger, Chili, Breaded Tenderloin, and an order of Frings (fries & onion rings combo = genius!). For sandwiches, you're offered a choice of bun or Texas toast and we did one of each. Everything was so tasty; prepared as ordered and served fresh and hot. The facility is still a lot of fun, large and great for groups. You will find things clean, welcoming and comfortable. The staff here is friendly and helpful as the process to get and pick up food is not entirely obvious. The strawberry short cake is refreshing and delicious! The berries are fresh. The cake was moist and tasty. The whole set of flavors just invited you in and quenches your sweet tooth! The sweet potato fries were okay. They were limp and a bit soggy. The caramel sauce was a nice touch. It would have been nice to have a fry that was a bit crispier and thicker. The chicken salad sandwich was pretty good. The chicken salad was smooth without having a heavy mayo taste. The chicken was shredded and thin. The filling was fresh and tasty. The Texas toast was also soft but toasted with a slight crisp. The potato salad was okay. Everything was fresh. The "sauce" had a slight mayo base with not many other non-potato additives. The potato salad was mashed into a cup. DO NOT COME HERE ON FATHER'S DAY. In town for an event for the weekend, I tried, and completely LOVED, this establishment! The pulled pork (my personal reason for returning) sandwich is an exquisite flavor, and the handmade sauce of theirs is absolutely top notch! The only reason this is a lone star review is because I returned to enjoy the pulled pork sandwich again, however; I made the horrendously egregious mistake of returning during what I can only imagine is the one day a year that, because of an unknown to me cruise in car show, a special menu has replaced its regular delicious delicacies. I was unable to purchase what I came here for. This restaurant IS amazing every day of the year, except whenever it's either Father's Day, or a day that there was an unadvertised to non-locals cruise in car show. The ambiance is unique and fun, and the service is amazing when it's not either Father's Day or a day in which there is a cruise in. Where to begin Shane is the best my first time at the place and I felt welcomed like family. I came to town to visit my girlfriend and on the very last day wanted to visit Cammack Station (more like come back station). I was blown away the stuff from the 50s had me remembering times spent with my grandparents my pops loved and even in his passing continues to love Elvis, my grandma and me watch the Andy Griffith show and the place is filled with hidden gems from the shows and lives . The food was next level everything was hot the ice cream was some of the best I've had. The best part was the service the music and the food lots of space for big or small groups and the place holds a memory of a time when things were simple and happy, DO NOT sell yourself short do not skip this place life is short not to enjoy delicious food and memories with the ones you love this has become one of those places for me as I hope to continue this tradition each time I'm able to visit. read more

TL;DR Good burgers, albeit dry. The sides were good. I got the onion burger hoping it would be covered in onions. It's not. They just put onions in the meat and then grill. So, it's a plain burger. I put an onion ring on top for added flavor. Others got their signature burgers which had a lot more flavor but too were dry. The sides of fries, rings and sweet potato fries were good. Wow, this place has really neat decor. All the walls and ceiling are covered in old garage, oil signs. In the front of the restaurant in the original Jukebox owned by Jim Davis (Garfield creator). Traveling from Munice to Indy and I'm always interested in places I haven't been to before. This place is cute and super kitchy with old fashioned gas pumps and giant bottle cap decor. Stuff everywhere, but I noticed everything looked clean. Traveling with my dog so I got it to go. Just ended up ordering the bacon wrapped hot dog. We made a special trip to Commack to enjoy lunch there at 11 o'clock on a Wednesday. Little did we know that this place would be bustling busy, and every single employee had a smile and was delighted to see us. We started with the breaded mushrooms as a table Shared appetizer. Following that my husband enjoyed a fried bologna sandwich! with all the dressing; he thoroughly enjoyed it. the french fries that he had on the side were crispy, fresh and hot. We all shared those fries! Another friend had the chicken salad; the portion was so large she was not able to finish the entire serving. Our other friend got the classic cheeseburger. She enjoyed this as well. I wasn't Sure how large the chili serving would be, and I wasn't terribly hungry after those breaded mushrooms. I'm glad I got the chili although I was only able to finish half the portion. I recommend it for next time. We have not been to this restaurant since Covid. At the beginning of Covid, they more than doubled the size of the inside dining area. It was amazing. Almost every wall space and ceiling space was covered with memorabilia. We will return in another month or so. Cammack Station will be a regular quarterly lunch visit for our group. read more

I've been here two times and both were great experiences. The first time was with our Corvette Club and the second our family. Such a fun retro restaurant, with plenty of room for large groups. Great music and decor to enjoy. Each time our burgers, tenderloins, fries and onion rings were fresh and delicious. No skimping here. Served with a smile as well. Be careful if you have allergies. I have fish allergies. I asked if it was safe to eat and what on the menu was safe, the answer was I think so. I asked to check was told yes it is safe then she said it should be safe. Then yes safe then a man came out of kitchen and said we think it will be safe no cross contamination. All with allergies know it has be a definite no not maybe. So I asked for a banana split safe right? Then I was called to the counter and shown a dish of ice cream and told we are out of bananas! I asked for a refund and did not eat anything. I don't think they wanted me to eat! The staff needs to know how to handle questions about allergies. If they would have said sorry it would not be safe to eat here. I would never have complained. I get that a lot so I just visit with whoever I am with. But to get such a vague answer scared me.
